Served in the drawing room or on the terrace overlooking the gardens, it includes a delectable assortment of finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and pastries. Gardens and Surroundings The hotel is surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens that provide a tranquil escape. Strolling through the grounds, visitors can admire manicured lawns, colorful flower beds, and serene water features. Beyond the gardens lies Rutland Water, a sprawling reservoir and nature reserve. Only went for a meal. Cooked to perfection and the beef fell apart and melted in my mouth. Could not have been any better.

Won’t risk booking a restaurant I haven’t been to before for a very special occasion again. Read the lower score reviews, they’re spot on. Some lovely staff make up for coldness of the person at front of house who took us to our table. Weird system where very few staff can take food orders. It was a mess, very slow service, and no one knew what others were doing. Overpriced, ordinary food and v limited choice. Don’t bother. (We had a good time but that was down to us, and one lovely waiter. )

The best roast around the area by an mile. Our second visit, but certainly not the last. We brought our family here and they were equally impressed. 10/10

Went here for the first time and had a great experience! We were a large party of 20 and still had great service, amazing food and basically a whole upstairs floor to ourselves. The Ron Bourguignon was fantastic, highly recommend, and thank you to Megan, Anna, and Ollie for running up those stairs a million times for us, dashing out to get more oat milk for milkshakes, and feeding our starving book club members 🫡💛

We visited for the the third time this weekend to meet up with family. There were seven of us and two dogs, we were seated very quickly having booked a table. The starters were delicious, goats cheese and caramelised onion bruschetta, creamy mushrooms and tempura prawns. All went down very well, the spicy parsnip soup was rather spicy. Main courses, the steak frites was absolutely spot on, the lamb was so tender, the Christmas dinners perfect and the fish pie was delicious. Deserts wise the brownie sundae was very naughty and the sticky toffee pudding as always was delightful. Only one issue, please help your servers knowledge about gluten free improve. Whilst you had it covered with a labelled menu, the server didn't fill us with confidence when we asked which deserts contained gluten and were told that the crumble was the only one suitable for a celiac. We were pretty sure this wasn't the case and upon further investigation the Eton mess was. Otherwise a lovely meal, beautiful surroundings and lovely staff! We will be back!

I’ve ordered from here a couple of times now for takeaway and it’s spot on each time! The atmosphere is amazing and if I had time I would have ate inside. The locals often come here to enjoy the live music and the staff are very friendly. They also rent out the snug for guests to stay in so make sure to check it out.
