Dixons Milk Ices in Kirklees

Dixons has gone so down hill it’s unbelievable. The girls that work there are just soo disgraceful and make up the rules as they go along. Was told previously they stop doing milkshakes at 9.30 so now I just waited half an hour in a queue got to the front at 9.10 and they go now they stop it at 9. Completely disgraceful will not make it as been waiting for soo long they can’t be bothered to even put up a sign at what time they actual stop making the milkshakes. Peed me right off simply won’t come here again. They getting soo many complaints lately losing customers won’t be surprised if sooner then late another establishment that will close down if it keeps going like this.

I am 80 years old this year. I can remember when I lived in Lockwood aged between 2 & 5 years old eating ice cream from the same shop down Swan Lane, which was then called Rhodes’s Ice Cream. It is exactly the same original recipe that Dixons make now - the best Ice Cream ever. I would enjoy it more often if one of their vans came round Kirkburton area…..

Dixons used to be amazing with great value for money and the best ice cream around but recently it just get worse each time. Went yesterday. Ice cream was so sloppy it was more the consistency of a milkshake. I asked for cream on top and it was again sloppy and made me feel ill so I ended up leaving it. I told the woman serving the ice cream was very runny and she just shrugged it off. I’d like to say it could be a one off but I’d gone to the swan lane Dixons as the Leeds Road one is always melting ice cream and rude servers but swan lane was no better. The best I would say is the one down in Batley but this is hit and miss on what theirs is like which makes me think the company just doesn’t really care anymore. I discovered Dixons in my uni days and since have come back to Huddersfield at least once a month with family to introduce them to it but I think now it’s time to stop. Each year they make the cones and tubs smaller and the price goes up. Save yourself £5 and just get a McFlurry.

I went to buy a family tub and asked for a small empty tub, apparently they 'don't give stock away' which I could appreciate if I wasn't buying anything, I offered to pay for the empty tub along with my family tub and apparently can't even do that. I ended up having to buy a my family tub along with a medium (filled with ice cream) I feel sorry for the poor girls working there this evening, what a guy. I've been going to dixons since I was little but out of principle I will never visit that branch again. His poor customer service skills made me behave like a true Karen, Nigel who I believe is the manager, needs to improve on his customer service skills. Wow

The ice cream was amazing, apart from the portion provided. Considering how much i payed, and i also think a alternative option such as Low fat would be good

Really fancied an ice cream after my tea! I got a medium tub and a flake no wafers or juice given or offered and it cost £4.25! The tub was £3.00 so a tiny flake was £1.25!!! Next time I’ll buy a flake from the shop across the road for 70p full size!

I don’t know how or why I haven’t reviewed this place sooner. The ice cream is simply delicious, always a good choice of flavours and different ways to enjoy your ice cream - as a milkshake, waffles etc. I alway go for the Dixon’s blue in a tub or as a milkshake. I’m not quite sure what the flavour is but it’s to die for. Try it!! The price is pretty average and in line with most other ice cream/ dessert places. I hope to see this place expand to more areas in the next few years.

Ice cream was amazing,tasty milkshake as well from here, they have more flavours here, the staff here are friendly. There is a parking behind the rear of the place. Dixon's is the best place to get ice cream from milkshake Leeds road West Yorkshire.highly recommended

I went to the Lockwood Dixons and I asked for the mint vegan ice cream and he started to put the mint ice cream with cows milk in the cone and I had to correct him and then when got to the bottom of the tub of vegan ice cream he said I can go look for some more I said yes please and I am certain that he put the cows milk ice cream on top which my stomach does not agree with. I will be finding somewhere else to get fresh ice cream from now

Love the new dixons at Batley, amazing ice cream, we travel all the way from Wiltshire to see family and have our favourite ice cream, the best ever. We were served by a lovely lady called Yasmeena. We’ve been a few times now since it’s so close to where I work and honestly, the selection is fantastic and the quality is always top notch! Yasmeena is an absolute star and is always there to greet you with a smile and warm persona. Will be back again…probably next week

Came in to Batley Dixon’s was very impressed with the service from Yasmeena very friendly and professional. The store is nice and children friendly the ice cream was nice and fresh and soft defo recommend it .

Was always a regular stop to pick up a chocolate wafer on way back home from working in the Holme Valley. Sat in the lay-by opposite to eat it .Great!

Dixon’s is a legend in Huddersfield and deservedly so. Their ice cream is delicious and there are some quirky flavours.

I grew up near the shop in Lockwood and Dixon's Ice Cream van also made regularly stops around our way. It genuinely is like nothing else I've ever tasted and, although I live a long way away. I sometimes have to make the trip back to taste it. Ina tub preferably with juice.

Busy places - need to queue sometimes worth waiting for This company has been going a long time. There is lots of choice and it tastes like it used todo.

Always a huge queue and for what it is and the price it's not worth queueing but if you go past and there's no queue then go for it! The ice cream is nice and the sauce as it's different but I don't think it's any better than your regular 99.

The queue that runs outside the door and round the corner is a good clue. The absence of complex and implausible flavours is another. And the prices are the third. It is just very very tasty. That is all

I love Dixons ice cream like so many other locals. I usually go for the original flavour but this time I went for the unicorn one which was also nice. I love the raspberry juice too!

Dixon's have an outlet at Lockwood for at least 40 years. Leeds road about 5years . Times have changed with coffee being a main product. It's on the busy Leeds road so they need more than ice cream to live. However very very good coffee.

Me and my boyfriend love this ice cream. It takes us 50 mins in the car but it’s well worth it. I’m not a vanilla person but plain is best here especially when you have the red juice on top.

There are lots of flavours to choose from but whenever I've been I've maybe picked the wrong flavours, but they've never tasted as good as they looked. Also expensive for what it is. Personally I'd rather spend the money on a good tub from the supermarket which has more servings in it for the same price.

This place never disappoints. The plain milk ice is so delicious and the different flavours are great too! If you a plain milk ice it’s a must to have ‘sauce’ in the middle and wafers.

Suffice to say that this will be some of the best ice cream you’ve ever had. No nonsense, no messing with multiple choice. Cone? Sauce? Away you go. Bloomin’ fantastic!

Been many times . All flavours of ice cream , tubs special ices 99s ice cream to take home too in special tubs , so much a scoup , they also have a small cafe selling different types of coffee tea iced drinks milk shakes etc a few chairs & tables out side . All at reasonable prices . I can recommend as I have lived near by all my life . Only problems are where to park , the car as it is very busy especially in the summertime .

Good quick service friendly staff. Been eating this ice cream for approx 40 years. Never changed love the flavoured ones too. Only downside is that it should have air conditioning the poor staff were sweltering in this warm weather

Dixons ice cream is the most delicious I have eaten in many years. I love the traditional feel of this place, reminds me of the wonderful Italian ice cream parlours which were common in Wales back in the 60s, Dixons comes very close.

Working for a day in the area and colleagues told me this place is not to be missed and they are so right! The tastiest ice cream I've ever had, even if it technically isn't ice cream - really polite and interesting education on the history of Dixon's and milk ices from the lady who served us. A must see if in the area, seriously considering a family trip to Huddersfield now (and no, I never thought I'd say that!).

I went to Dixons milk ices the other day expecting a nice desert that would warm my insides However when i went to eat it The name milk ices made sence to me as they had literally frozen milk into ice so when i went to bite it i had a nasty suprise this was a very unplesant experience for me and my family as i lost a tooth when biting the ice. i wass expecting it to be ice cream not ice *Angry face Emoji*
