When i thought i had found a hidden gem that no-one knew about. I couldnt wait to visit this restaurant!! But when telling my friends they all knew some one who had been, if not them. All good things, food x fab, staff x very polite seating x comfy. I just love it. Beautiful inside and out. 🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶

Came for breakfast on Saturday. Quality of food was brilliant, service was good(they were busy at the time). The host(I believe was called Steve) was brilliant, very flamboyant and a true host to hospitality standards. Drink prices are competitive, looking at previous reviews some think it is over priced- this is not the case if you work in hospitality yourself and understand the true cost to serving a great drink scullery has good prices. Will 100% return. Thank you

A cosy restaurant but sitting outside for the warmer months. The service was attended and quick. A good mix on the menu . We enjoyed the evening. The only dish we were disappointed on was the cauliflower cheese....just lacked cheese!!!. Will go back in the near future.

I had some friends visiting and wanted to take them to a Sunday Roast. My usual places were all booked and when we looked for a place near the centre of Huddersfield, this one popped up. We thought we would give it a try and it was such a great decision! They were mostly all booked, but were able to squeeze us in and we had a fantastic Sunday Roast. The environment is fabulous and cozy, and the staff are excellent. I would say it's a bit pricey, but totally worth it!

Our second visit and it was just as good as the first. Although it was quite busy we had a lovely relaxing meal, great food and great service.

Been a few times as the food is lovely and very reasonably priced. Would give five stars but the front of house service from the gentleman, I believe is called Steve, is poor. Such an obnoxious individual who really needs some customer service training or at least learn how to communicate to his customers appropriately.

Had a fabulous time, myself and 3 neighbours our coffee morning gang went for lunch it was our first time and the food was excellent as was the service and beautiful surrounding so good we booked our christmas outing there. Would highly recommend x

We went for a family lunch to celebrate my 70th birthday, service was great, food delicious and a lovely ambiance, the weather was perfect so we were able to sit outside on the terrace for a final drink, a great time was had. Thank you Steve, Helen and all your team

As with other reviewers we cannot believe we have not been here before! However, family had, and treated us to lunch for a family 50 year celebration. Cannot praise the experience enough. 5* plus in every category!!! Can’t wait to return and show off to friends etc. - Amazing.

We loved this restaurant. The food is delicious. The service is excellent, staff are efficient, seem happy and know their stuff. Stephen is a great maitre d with the right level of contact with diners. The weather had dropped in temperature where it had been v hot. We chose to sit outside and did feel the chill but the heaters in the ‘shed’ were incredibly effective. Lovely vibe! All of us thoroughly enjoyed the food, we were extremely full after the main but shared a couple of desserts. The Crema Catalana was just as described and delicious! We just wished we could have tried more desserts they all looked fab! We will be back soon 🍸😋😍

The scullery hosted our wedding meal and they were absolutely wonderful. They made us feel so welcome and really looked after us. We had welcome drinks out in the courtyard and then inside for the meal. The drinks choices are wonderful. The coeliac in the group was catered for amazingly, having a pick of nearly everything on the menu. The children in the group loved their meals. The owners are so kind and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was superb and a great drink selection too. Our group particularly enjoyed the steak dishes, the mussels and the crab dishes. We couldn't have wished for a better place to have celebrated! Beautifully decorated inside, lovely sunny spot outside and great service. We honestly felt so at home and comfortable. Loved it! Thank you so much to all at the scullery. You will forever be a special place for us

Has such a brilliant vibe this place! We sat outside in the sun and enjoyed a meal with a few drinks. The staff are brilliant and the atmosphere is great. It's such a lovely place and the food and cocktails are amazing! Honestly so proud to have this on our doorstep. Definitely our new favourite place! Looking forward to next time already.

This was our 2nd visit tonight and it was just as good as our last visit apart from I had the dressed crab which was gorgeous. We were a group of 4 and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Fabulous lunch. Scallops and soup starter, trio of fish and duck breast for mains - all cooked to perfection. Service was superb. We chose to sit outside and were told we may have to wait a little more time but the time between courses was perfect. Our first visit but we'll certainly be back.

The interior and the place is beautiful, full of character. We had wonderful service and the most accommodating waitress. The food was ok, but a little disappointing, the flavours of my dish didn’t marry well together and the fish pieces were overly fried. The warm pudding was average, no distinct flavours. We asked for a birthday candle and staff told us that they will do it, but then they forgot, not a big deal, but would have been nice.

We booked the bottomless burger brunch for my sisters hen weekend and it was GREAT! Steve and Helen were so accommodating for us, especially as we were a large group of 20. The food was so delicious and the service with bottomless Prosecco/cocktails was faultless. As I say there was 20 ladies and nobody went without another drink. Thank you again, couldn’t recommend enough. Hannah x

I very much enjoyed my first visit. All the food consumed was of a very high standard. A few proper craft beers was a nice touch. The staff were all very polite and attentive. But we seemed to have 3-4 different staff serving our table which was a little odd. A few Hugo Boss, Range Rover, steak & chips types in the place. But given the price bracket, you'd expect that. Site comfortably between gastro pub and high dining.

We have visited this restaurant more than any other since they opened in 2019 and the standards have always been high (in fact I think they get better!). The food is modern British cuisine using locally sourced seasonal ingredients and the flavours on offer are bold and delicious. The Sunday Lunch menu is a real highlight with 3 courses for £30 featuring a selection of Roast Dinners that are hard to beat. The Brunch menu is really varied with your traditional Full English, Eggs Benedicts, Avo on Toast as well as some new additions like Savoury Crepes and Pancake Stacks for the sweet tooths- you can also go bottomless with some refreshing Mimosas and Bellinis. The standard A La Carte has some fantastic options too- a decent list of small plates if you fancy tapas style as well as some gorgeous main course dishes to suit every palate. The signature Steak and Ale Pie is not to be missed and has been consistently good since day one! As we approach summer do not skip their stunning secret garden which on a sunny day makes you forget you are in Huddersfield- our favourite place to relax with great food and drinks. Talking of drinks, the wine list is extensive and they have picked some truly fabulous wines to pair with the food. There is also a cocktail list as well as local beers. Steve and Helen do an amazing job at running the best restaurant in Huddersfield- we highly recommend a visit but be warned you will keep going back for more

Went for Sunday morning breakfast. The decor is fantastic, our host was welcoming and efficient. Three of us had the full English and one had the avocado. The coffee was good the breakfast was very good, with the slight exception of the bacon being a tiny but overdone. They did break my rule that sausages should never be singular, but it was a very big sausage, so an exception can be made. I think I've found my new breakfast spot.

Birthday family get together for daughters birthday. Heard good things about The Scullery and had tried to book before but without success. We were not disappointed on our first visit. Buzzing on a Friday evening, tasteful decor , genuine welcome from front of house and great table service . No pressure to hurry . Everyone enjoyed their meal ( one gluten free diner catered for no problem). Generous portions ( always appreciated!), gigantic burgers . My starter of Brazilian fish stew with large succulent prawns and smoked fish was a treat and would easily transfer onto the mains. Trio of fish excellent, lamb shanks tender and steak pie full of tender chunks of steak. Only two of our party of eight could manage a dessert ( rare for us!). The two who did both chose panacotta which they enjoyed. Whose birthday is next?!

Definitely a hidden gem!! Went first time last week (booked-in on the horrendous snow day, 40 people cancelled at lunchtime so we were the only table in!) Warming genuine hospitality and service throughout the meal and lovely cooked food! Steaks were amazing! Nice variety on menu. Nicely decorated place and will definitely will be returning! One off Huddersfield best restaurants

Great choice of excellent food & drink all served very efficiently by the staff. The Maitre de was very helpful and we particularly enjoyed seeing the cote de boeuf in its marinade before it was cooked and discussing the cooking options.

Celebrated a family birthday by having lunch at The Scullery today. It was fantastic. The friendly greeting sets the scene, you are then shown into a classy but comfortable dining area that has a lovely ambience. The staff are friendly and polite but not intrusive and the food was all fantastic. One of the party is vegetarian and there was plenty of choice for them too.

A hidden gem and another Sunday breakfast venue for us! (not many options left). The full English was a good size but not too much and the eggs Benedict was lovely. Everything was nicely presented. The coffee was good too. Look forward to trying out the lunches and evening meals sometime.

We’ve dined here several times over the years. It’s a lovely, independent restaurant with a great menu and is consistently excellent. We’re very lucky to have such a hidden gem within walking distance of our home. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

Disappointing experience, a place we wanted to try due to the reviews being so positive. We chose the bottomless brunch and sat in the courtyard. The food was ok but my muffin was rock hard underneath the egg. The head waiter wasn’t particularly helpful and and the younger waiter I found to be a little rude. We were told to wave when ever we wanted a drink but were left outside and forgotten about. There was nobody outside as both waiters stood around and didn’t think to check. The only reason we managed to get any drinks was because the fridge and freezers etc were outside so had to ask repeatedly to have the heater on and for drinks. So not a place either of us would go to or recommend.

The experience and food as a whole was amazing but I felt as though the maitre d was a bit arrogant and defensive, when questioned about the quality of the wine. Otherwise a very pleasant experience within a lovely setting and ambience.

Lovely meal with great atmosphere, even on a quieter evening. Setting is fantastic, inside and out. Steaks and quiche were excellent. Black pudding bon bons a treat. Soup exquisite (pea and mint) Wine, perfection. Loads of parking, tucked in a corner of Huddersfield.

Great roast and desserts. Generous child's meal, that exceeded my 7 year old's high expectations. 😄 Service from all the staff was fantastic, genuine and warm.

We stopped in for a working lunch on a Saturday, the inside was fully booked which was encouraging and because it was sunny we managed to get a table outside, which was also full within the hour another good sign. Service was prompt polite and professional. How they managed all the covers so quickly was impressive. Water served immediately to the table as we sat down,ordered drinks came quickly, menu and specials explained clearly, short 10-15 min wait for food. We had mussels, the quiche, the cod all cooked to perfection. Desert wise we had panna Cota, cheese cake and a Oreo Sunday, a single criticism I’ve had better vanilla ice cream in a sundae but that’s picking straws . Rare to find a family owed restaurant that’s managed to combine reasonable pricing with such good quality food in immaculate surrounding. Happy to recommend and would make a make a special trip just to visit again.

Husband and I visited this establishment for the first time with friends who treat it as their local eatery, and are always praising it, and we can see why. Food excellent quality and scrumptious, moules to die for! Service impeccable, laced with good humour and smiles. The surroundings and decor are 2nd to none. As Arnie says "we will be back" 110% 👌

Been today for lunch with a friend and nearly walked straight back out after the disrespectful greeting from the front of house waiter. Tried to show me up in front of other customers but only made himself look stupid. The rest of our visit he then went over board and came across creepy because he knew what he had done. The food was good because I have been many times before but my friend had never been and she was disgusted and probably now will not come again.

Lunch with friends. Ate outside as sunny day. It has a very pleasant courtyard. Food tasty and quality high, lost a star as one dish tepid.

Eaten here a few times now and the food is always fantastic. But what makes it better is you can tell that they genuinely care about the quality they’re producing. (Sorry no pictures, I’m too impatient and dig in straight away).

The best panna cotta outside of Italy! First visit today and would say one of the best meals I have had in Huddersfield. Note: I would remove plastic plants and terrible picutures from the outside gazebo, as they don't match the interior design and beautiful courtyard gardens.

This place is top notch , a real gem ! Parked directly outside and had a drink in the courtyard before the meal. From first contact the service is attentive and friendly. The food is great too with a starter of soup of the day was a treat and main course simple but really tasty pie. I did book , but there was space , it was early evening.

We were a party of four and had been wanting to experience this restaurant for a while! Wow! What a find! Our expectations were high and we were certainly not disappointed. The menu was exciting and varied with specials of the day available and described informatively by the staff. Locally sourced fresh ingredients were a temptation and we all agreed we had made good choices when our meals were served by polite, personable, competent staff giving great service throughout our visit. The ambience was relaxing, friendly and professional, the decor beautiful & high quality! We loved it and hope to visit again very soon! Thank you to all who made our first experience ( and birthday lunch!) a good one! Very impressed!

First visit for a bottomless brunch and it was very enjoyable. Excellent staff who are so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Quite a small place so booking is essential to secure a table as required, trust our booking for Mother's day will be just as enjoyable.!

Situated on a regular street, this delightful restaurant is tucked away in a period house behind a tree-lined garden, and is one of Huddersfield's best-kept secrets. A Warm greeting at the door awaits, before your meal. This is our 7th or 8th visit. This time it was for a group Christmas meal for 10 people. Every course was served timely. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The red wine was silky and flavoursome and complimented the food perfectly. Priced at £24 / £29 for 2 or 3 courses, it was great value for a Christmas menu. Our group was impressed with the food, drinks, service, staff and decor.
