We went for Sunday roast dinner, the food was first class, great service and good atmosphere.

My husband and I enjoyed the valentines tasting menu last night and wow, unbelievable food and service. Every course was a taste sensation. Well done Ryan, Dan and team you excelled yourselves x x

I just had to write another review for Bread and Butter. Ryan and the team are continually upping their game (I really don't know how they do it, when their standards were so high anyway) The food quality and presentation is superb and we’ve been on many occasions, including for their famous festive Turkey ciabatta which was even tastier this year - if that's possible. More recently we have dropped in for lunch on a number of occasions, which has always been so good. This restaurant is highly recommended but you must book.

This afternoon tea was delightful lots of choices including the usual things though this had extras which took this to a 10/10 Thai bites with dips soup & freshly hot seasoned fries. This was awesome. Dan the waiter was outstanding, his professionalism was undoubtedly amazing he cared about our experience. Passionate about his service and business.

Fantastic food. The three of us ordered a BIG full English breakfast, and that’s what we got! We didn’t want the black pudding so swapped for more toast. The food produce is so fresh and tasty. Cooked to perfection. Made to order. Open kitchen area, so chef can be seen cooking. Pleasant staff and surroundings. Seating inside and out. Toilet facilities. On bus route. Recommend booking, as it’s very popular. Glad to live locally, so we can visit regularly.

Wonderful evening spent with friends celebrating New Years Eve. Plenty of choice of Tapas and the service was excellent. It certainly made for a different way to celebrate NYE. can highly recommend.

We called last minute and came in (underdressed) after an afternoon at Deepdale watching football. The staff… Awesome. The food… Superb. We had a 10 month old with us too. High chair… no problem. What a lovely place this is!

What a little gem of a place! We were literally in the area looking for lunch and walked in! We were not disappointed. The food is outstanding and the portions are spot on. The festive ciabatta was to die for! Highly recommended!

We stumbled across this place looking for a Sunday Breakfast, and it didn't disappoint! We were welcomed in and given a table, where drink options were taken and a menu issued. They have a great selection of breakfasts options, including avo on toast, egg benedict and full English. We both had a small breakfast, and it was just enough, food was hot, cooked well and great quality too! We might pop back sometime to try their lunch menu or the Tapas!

Fantastic service and gorgeous, well presented food. Would be 5 star but for the the rather grubby toilet and the fact that the grubby highchairs are stored in the toilet cubicle. At least get a cover for them!

We have been twice in the last few weeks and the food is stunning! The girls that work there are so friendly and lovely we love coming!

Not gonna lie, it's not cheap here. But the menu is on the window, you know what to expect if you visit here price wise. My meal was £16.65 for a breakfast and a cup of tea. It was a large full English though, and the tea came in a pot, so it was enough for 2 cups. The quality of the food was exceptional. My only slight niggle was the beans were runny, not thick (you know when you always try to buy Heinz or Branston rather than own brand beans from the supermarket, you can tell the difference). But the sausages, black pudding, eggs, mushrooms were all high quality and cooked very well. Service was great, prompt and attentive and the food was cooked and served quickly. I was an early bird and first in at 0945 but by 10am it was already busy and to guarantee a table you should book in advance. Definitely would recommend trying here. If I was rich, I'd have breakfast here everyday.

came in for sunday roast this evening. first time being in and it’s a lovely cosy atmosphere with friendly and efficient staff. ordered the beef brisket and chicken wings for starters food came out very quickly well presented and tasted incredible. safe to say it’s the best roast i’ve ever eaten. chicken wings had bags of flavour. will definitely be returning again!

Pre booked for Sunday lunch had to wait in the door way for the table before to finish as it’s only small well it was worth the wait nice staff and lovely surroundings roast dinner was yummy and well cooked gravy was a standout we all enjoyed and all very full thanks guys we will be back to try more of the menu. Arrived there at 12.55 to be turned away in the rain after booking last week and travelling over from Blackpool.They stated that they had no record of our booking despite being given directions and a time slot to come for lunch by the girl we booked with over the phone ! Not good enough.There was only two people sitting when we got there.I hope their experience was worth it.

Booked through the online portal. The place was spotless. The staff were really nice - knew the menu so we didn't have to ask. We've been here for breakfast a few times but have to say that this was one of the best Sunday lunches we've had in a long time. Roast beef for both of us. Came with a HUGE yorkshire pudding, soft, creamy mash, mashed carrot, cabbage, peas and roasted parsnips & roasted potatoes. The beef was braised but prepared in 'rounds' so it resembled a fillet steak. The beef just fell away as you cut into it. The gravy (served separately) was quite rich in flavour and there was plenty of it. Very, very nice indeed and there was SO MUCH FOOD on each plate! Had we know, we wouldn't have ordered starters - but the soup (Tandoori Cauliflower) was absolutely delicious and served piping hot with warm bread and soft butter. Can easily see why people travel from far and wide to eat Sunday lunch here. We will definitely be back again.

My friend and I turned up at Bread & Butter tonight looking for a quick bite to eat as we had netball practice an hour later. The gentleman that served us was really efficient and kind and did everything he could to get our food out as quickly as possible, we ended up having spare time as the food was that quick! Everything was spotlessly clean and the food was lovely. Highly recommend!

First time here after hearing so much about it. We went for breakfast and it was amazing. Great quality ingredients, amazing poached eggs (how do you do six of them at the same time so well??), fabulous coffee and the best service. Loved it. Will be back.

This was our first visit and it won’t be our last. A wonderful experience with excellent food and service. We had the braised brisket which was delicious, with Yorkshire puddings, a medley of vegetables, all a bit different from the usual assortment of vegetables, roast potatoes and delicious gravy. We were not disappointed. The food was wonderfully cooked and presented. An extremely enjoyable meal and dining experience.

We went for Burger night. It was fab. I had Garlic and Parmesan chicken burger. It was delicious. All freshly cooked and piping hot. Served with fries, pickles and red slaw. My friend had a halloumi veggie option which again was really good. Lovely service too!! You won’t be disappointed!!!!

Wednsday night is one of the mid week burger nights at this great little restaurant . All of the burgers came with side orders of sliced gherkins,slaw, and skin on fries (or upgrade for a small extra cost to one of the other delicious fries options, such as salt and pepper,parmesan and truffle ) . Classic, mexican, and chicken ordered (there are vegetarian options) packed with extras,such as cheese if wanted . These are generous ,delicious burgers, all of which disappeared quickly with a thumbs up by everyone. Great value £20 with a drink or £22 if you upgrade the fries Service is excellent , as always from the friendly staff.

We visit this place fairly regularly and have never been disappointed. Our most recent visit was a busy Saturday evening. It was a full house and the service was beyond expectations. In particular the young waiter must have been exhausted, he played a blinder. Food, as ever, was exceptional and hope to be back soon.

Return visit for us last night for the tapas menu. We were treated to first class food and service. Bread & Butter has never disappointed us, and we look forward to our next visit. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Sunday lunch was amazing today. Staff really attentive and friendly. Worth mentioning that our booking had had to be re-arranged from Mother’s Day due to a mix up. Whilst we were disappointed at the time, we were given a Sunday roast for 6 people to takeaway, completely free of charge. For me this went above and beyond expected levels of customer service and very much welcome. Thank you and we will definitely be back

Excellent afternoon tea - homemade soup, sarnies, fries, halloumi fries, black pudding bon bons followed jam and cream scone, eton mess and chocolate brownie! This place is my favourite as I like more savouries! Great service, good atmosphere - really enjoyable afternoon!

My daughter hired B and B for her 40th. We had the place to ourselves and it was perfect! The food was delicious and exceeded any expectations. The atmosphere was lovely and most of all, all the staff were excellent! Friendly welcoming and full of smiles 😊. The younger guy in the kitchen, the front of house man,the chef (lookalike Tom from Love Island!) and the lovely Lauren who served us beautifully and couldn’t do enough for us including being so sweet with the children. Highly recommend, basically couldn’t fault. We’ll definitely be going back x

Delightful tiny little cafe/bistro with one of the best chicken burgers I've ever had! Make sure to book a table on their website, because it's so good it's also very busy. Definitely worth it

The restaurant is attractive, although small and cramped. When we first arrived, we were turned away, because we didn't have a booking. My daughter went online and found that they had lots of spaces an hour later, so she booked a table. The servers didn't seem to be very interested in the customers. I needed gluten free and asked if they had a menu. They replied that 'most things could be gluten-free, but were not specific. I decided to go for an 'Atlantic Prawn/Marie Rose sauce sandwich, with fries, salad, and house slaw. It was all delicious. There was an abundance of food! (It was difficult to eat the salad on the narrow plate.) My son and one daughter decided to go for the Afternoon Tea option at £22 a head. It was very impressive, with plenty of savoury offerings. (The server had promised to come back and explain all of the parts of the meal, but he didn't.) Nobody came to the table to check on us, and when my son paid he was not asked how the meal was. So, food - Great! Delicious and abundant. Venue - clean and attractive, with good toilets Service - sporadic. Would we go back! Yes, because of the quality of the food, but we would be unsure about recommending it.

Fantastic restaurant with a great team of staff, and delicious food and drinks. We had the Christmas Afternoon Tea and it didn’t disappoint! Turkey and cranberry sandwiches, pigs in blankets, scones with cream and jam, mince pies! There was a good selection of delicious treats to try, as well as a pots of tea and proper coffee!! Five Star! Highly recommend!

This food at Bread and Butter is outstanding (top restaurant standard). Ryan and the team have really worked their magic and this is a thriving restaurant in the heart of Penwortham (you do need to book though as it’s always busy). The food quality and presentation is superb and we’ve been on many occasions, including most recently for their festive Turkey ciabatta which has to be experienced to appreciate (complete with roast potatoes and a dipping gravy). I’m getting hungry just writing this review!!! Highly recommended.

It was alright, a little slow on the milkshakes, very costly for what is provided and portions are extremely small, spent about £100 for £10 of ingredients and £20 of labour, hot chocolate was lukewarm and was generally disappointed relative to the high praise other reviews offer

Called in on the way back from the Lakes. We searched for "breakfast near me" and this was the highest rated place and it's very easy to see why. We were given a table although we had not booked. I ordered a breakfast bagel and it was out of this world and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend this place and we definitely be back either on the way to Lakes, or on the way back..

This was our second visit with the tapas menu. As before, the food is outstandingly delicious - full of flavour and obviously made with care. We had a couple of festive specials including the apple & cinnamon crumble which was amazing. The staff are lovely and very attentive and overall a very nice atmosphere. The only slight concern is that we were sat at the table near the kitchen serving area which had very bright lights and the waitress going backwards and forwards past our table. Perhaps one table too many? Nonetheless will definitely return.

Called this morning and had an awesome experience, the food is delightful and I was fortunate that I could see the food being plated up, a skill in itself. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection, I am in awe of chefs who can produce these time after time, well done. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, all in all a lovely start to the w/end - we shall return.

The food here is at a very good standard for a cafe! It's probably one of my favourites and recommended to everyone. I recently tried tapas night too and was equally the same. The sevice is good and cost is reasonable.

Sunday lunch heaven ! Love the food here, only issues are no draught beer and the lighting Is on the VERY bright side!

First visit with my daughter, the food was excellent and the staff and service first class. The place is fairly small with every table occupied with everyone talking at once it did become rather noisy.

My sister her daughter and my self , thought that we would try it out ,and we weren't disappointed , it was just like eating at a Spanish restaurant , the food was amazing , not your everyday , cafe food , the table setting were nice and the staff were very friendly we had a lovely chat with the owner, she was so lovely and easy to talk to ,we all had sandwiches and soup, which were delicious,, not over priced to we will definitely be going back again , well done xx

A local restaurant we've visited before. This time it was to sample today's lunchtime menu. It began well and just got better. The food was excellent and very well presented. We both decided to miss the starters and were glad we did. The food was plentiful and we were both very happy with the quality and quantity on offer. Highly recommended

I can honestly say that Sunday dinner at this place is the best I’ve ever had outside of home. 5⭐️ from me. Both the lamb and beef were cooked to perfection and that gravy mmm 😋.

Hadn’t reserved a table, but took a chance to pop in for brunch. Fortunately there were a few tables available. My friend and I both chose the full English breakfast, but the small portion. Wow, we were very impressed by the amount of food we had on our plate. Definitely wouldn’t have been able to eat the large portions. Everything tastes delicious and all freshly cooked to order. Definitely recommend.

As always this place never disappoints, just pleases every time! We lunch regularly at several places, but this is the best. In fact I want to forget other places and just come here. Everything is perfect, the chef really knows his stuff, good wine, good coffee (when the machine is not broken.) love it !!

Table of 14 people and all the food came out perfectly cooked and presented. Everything was excellent quality. Only 1 star down on service as a drink was forgotten but not surprising given the number of people! Lovely place, will be returning.

First visit with my friend. Ordered prawn sandwich on granary bread for myself, and my friend chose the ham & mustard sandwich. All freshly made and arrived at our table within a few minutes. The sandwiches had plenty of filling, and had seasoned chips and salad to the side of them. Everything tasted delicious. Definitely recommend and will be back again. Tables and seating indoors and outside. Pleasant friendly staff. Pleasant decor and lighting. Good food choices on menu.

We visited Bread And Butter on Friday evening and as always, the food was incredible! Very tasty Tapas, that arrived promptly .. made from fresh ingredients and piping hot .. ticked every box! The staff are friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful and polite . I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this restaurant !!

Would absolutely recommend this lovely clean cosy friendly restaurant. We had tapas for 4 adults and it was all beautiful, the staff are so friendly and very welcoming.

Friday night visit and this place was really busy. We’ve been before a few times and find it varies, food always good with a wide choice of tapas. Usually polite staff and nice atmosphere. The only bad comment would be concerning staff when our complaint of side dishes not being served. If you are advertising on the menu a side dish, it needs to appear fairly quickly to accompany whatever tapas or meal it is served with and not at the end of the meal. We are well aware of how tapas are served. Please accept criticism when it is offered not have an attitude. Unfortunately you will probably be glad this was our last visit.

Nice place but very busy , we went at lunchtime and found the choices for vegetarian to be pretty slim pickings and not very imaginative. Also, a side of fries with truffle oil was expensive when you see the size of the portion.

Sunday Roast was exceptional. Our food was cooked to perfection with real care and attention to detail. A treat for the eyes aswell as the taste buds.Pudding is a must, especially the brownie best we've ever tasted. A real gem in Penwortham. We will be back

From walking in, the service was amazing. So friendly and helpful. The food was superb and the wine was great. Would recommend to anyone.

Had lunch here today &although the food was good we had to wait a very long time for it to arrive. We were aware that all the food was prepared to order but it was a long wait for a sandwich

Lovely sunny morning to have breakfast outside in this little gem of a restaurant. The service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious. Eggs benedict came on a crispy bun with two poached eggs, crispy streaky bacon, chives and a side of sauce. It was hot and very tasty. We asked for tap water which came in a bottle and was free of charge. Eggs benedict for two was £19 and we were happy to leave a tip. We'll be back again soon.

Fabulous! I had called in advance as I have dietary requirements and the Chefs were super accommodating and made me a delicious meal. The Restaurant is lovely and relaxed and all the food looked great. Sunday lunch is definitely one to try if you love...

Super lovely food, certainly not budget prices (£15 for a club sandwich, £3.50 for a coca cola but then I for one wouldn't want to run a business in a cost of living crisis), but we're very lucky to have somewhere so nice in Penwortham. Recommended.
