Always good here everytime. We arrived 3 pm on a Saturday and put food on for us. They didn't have to but above and beyond.

Fantastic gammon steak yum yum 😋

I love this place. Usually I meet friends and family here before going to an evening kick off at Deepdale. Great vibe to the place excellent food with great portions. Warning if you order the 16oz burger you'd better be hungry

The carvery and service are superb. All staff will go the extra mile to provide a better service!

It was a hot sunny lunchtime & we just wanted a sandwich in the garden. The manager was really friendly & helpful & accommodated us by ordering a cheese & ham baguette which was served with chips salad & a lovely homemade coleslaw. This sandwich wasn't on the menu & we didn't want omelette or soup with it being so hot. Very tasty & he went out of his way to do that for us. It was served to us outside by happy friendly staff.

We had a big celebration 9 of us I know things have gone up but it's over priced and we had 8 different meals not 1 was as good as it used to be ,they squash far to many in my poor 89 year old mum could not get in her seat needless we won't be back

Went this evening for a family get together everyone had something different and everyone was pleased with there meal. Served very nicely on boards and all looked amazing. We do and will carry on going regularly. Highly recommend for value aswell

Efficient and friendly service. The food was excellent pub grub at a reasonable price. The portions are large so make sure you're hungry; really hungry. I joined a party for lunch and didn't have any breakfast! Starter and main, no room for dessert. Will definitely return.

Had a meal this afternoon, the food was nice but the customer service was not great, lots of staff milling around but our table sat with empty plates and glasses for at least 20 mins before anyone moved them, everything seemed to take a long time before anyone came to ask whether we wanted another drink or to look at the dessert menu, also seemed to take a while to pay! We don't live in the area so we won't be returning

Not for me ! Felt like I was sitting in a canteen. Certainly didn't like my food being served on a wooden platter. I had steak and ale pie , It was good but I don't want to tip all the ingredients on to the wooden platter. See photo. I won't be returning.

EPIC FAIL! Didn't even apologise! DO NOT BOOK YOUR CHRISTMAS DINNER HERE EVER. YOU'LL BE GRAVELEY DISAPPOINTED!! Looks like they didn't buy in enough food for the booked customers. Fancy running out of the Christmas food and without apology simply telling us sorry the tiny portion is all you're going to get. We have no more left to give you. I wish I'd taken photos now to show the tiny portions. Worst Christmas dinner in my 58 years on this planet! The soup starter looked like pureed baby food and tasted awful. So our mains arrived. All I got was less than a tablespoon of what I presume was sweet potato mash? It tasted delicious as well,but just teased our taste buds! My meat was plenty,tasty and tender. I got 2 what I presumed were frozen Yorkshire puddings,but none of the others who got different meat to me on our table did. They ended up asking if they could please have some,which was obliged, thankfully! So also on my plate was 1 biggish n 2 small half roasted potatoes(I like mine crispy and well done!) There was also a hint of runny thin gravy,so I asked if we could have some more, please. You know them little metal boats? They put gravy in one of them! Which all 6 of us had to share, lol. So I presumed like a lot of restaurants the rest of the meal would follow in casserole dishes? One of my sons did ask what I was waiting for, lol. I said the rest of my meal,obviously. By now, we were eager for mash potatoes! Only all they brought was 1 small oval shape oven dish with a concoction of some flavoured new potatoes,a few green beans,sprouts n mini whole unpeeled carrots(ewww). They looked Al dente, so I only took 2 sprouts. I had to try peer across the table to see what was in it! We were left really hungry,so we asked, "Could we please have some mash potatoes?" The waitress went to ask the chef and came back with an apology ,saying they wouldn't and couldn't make any. We were absolutely flabbergasted! After bringing some drinks, the waitress asked if we'd like anything else, and I couldn't help but mumble.'Some food would be nice!' Or the rest of our meal? The Rams Head has always been his and his friends' favourite place to eat. This time was a total big fat failure, and they should hang their heads in shame and refund everybody who was as underfed as us! Not to mention that the roast potatoes weren't nice! Undercooked! My poor eldest son only decided he wanted to come a couple of days before and was refused a Christmas dinner,so he had to sit there eating beef stroganoff instead. My 2nd eldest asked to come also,but the day before,but it was a straight No! The dessert was amazing, though! Altough was probably bought in. Never again!

Went with family for lunch, and didn't dispoint, excellent service, a lot of choice for food very reasonable price, and huge portion, i would recommend this place and I will be returning soon

Cannot fault the food at all, service was absolutely disgusting from bald male Greg. Was given a dirty used plate and when I asked for another he gave me a death stare, claimed I ate meat from the carvery when he wouldn’t allow me to, then attempted to make me pay. Mums days ruined…

The place had a strong smell of dogs and wasn't clean. Grubby, dirty tables, sticky menus and dirty chairs. I had bits in my pint (they did offer to change it as she saw me pointing to the bits in the glass from the bar and came over). The food was surprisingly good though! Scampi & Chips were very good as was the Chile. Decent food let down by the overall cleanliness. Paid £72 for 4 mains and 4 drinks. Would never go back unfortunately :(

Had the best sirloin in ages top quality

Pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food here, from first glance it looks to be more of a drinking pub. But we popped in for a quick bite whilst local and were impressed by the standard and the prices. Would recommend if in the neighbourhood.

Party of 7 people for Christmas Day lunch costing £80.00 each. The waiting staff were very pleasant and completely rushed off their feet. The room wasn't decorated very Chritmasy had a xmas tree that was swallowed by the size of the room. Xmas music playing for a short period of time. The tables were rammed in to make sure there was enough room to seat everyone, on several occasions I had to stand up to let people pass, and let a lovely lady pass who was in a wheel chair (wasn't thought through for anyone that had a disability either). When I originally booked for Xmas day I was told they cater for anyone that is vegan. On the menu it was supposed to be a nut roast, my daughter was served half a butternut squash with swede and carrot. There was no vegetables served separately to her, we had to ask which ones were ok for her to have, unfortunately the waiting on staff had to keep checking as they didn't know. My son had steak (on the xmas menu it said it would be served with chips)we asked the girl she replied it dosent come with chips he also wasn't given a steak knife. The coffee served was nice but again didn't have an alternative for people that are vegan, so clearly the didn't cater for people that are vegan. I work in a school tbh it was like sitting in a dinner hall it wasn't very pleasant. The table cloths were paper which ripped when anything spilt or got wet. My children ( who are adults) didnt want me to mention my concerns as it was xmas day after all. The food was OK not worth £80, the vegan option not so good. Also took them 25 minuted to bring the drinks bill 🙄 The girls and young lad worked hard serving and were very pleasant so well done to them. Their wasn't enough staff on to cater for the volume of people. I wouldn't eat there again and definitely never have xmas dinner there. It wasn't very well organised felt sorry for the staff waiting on as they'd given their xmas day up.

Went tonight for my lads 18th. The food was excellent and the service was excellent as well.

We went for Sunday Roast Carvery 😋 oh my, my it's not only traditional Carvery, you can choose from selection of other little bits like, variety of vegetables 😋 pasta, little burgers, chocolate fountain with marshmallow and churros, and much much more, and everything mentioned is included in tbe price of Carvery. For someone like me who eats with my eyes, it is heaven 😋. All staff are so friendly and every single one smiles and makes you feel comfortable ☺️ We also ordered Caroline Bbq burger and salmon salad, woho it was massive 👌 wasn't able to finish ☺️

Well where do I start. The food OMG its a carvery like you've never seen before. Every veg you can think of and wonderful meats expertly cooked and served and then the potatoes oh the roasties and mash where heaven. Then come the extras pigs in blanket battered sausage burger in a bun pizza garlic mushrooms hash browns potato croquettes to name just a few. The food was absolutely superb and the staff. Well so welcoming and friendly and helpful. 10/10 rams head. Would throughly recommend and will return soon. Thank you

Went for Sunday lunch with 8 relatives. I had the hot Mexican chilli con carne. It was amazing, best chilli I've ever had. Plate was full as well, chips, garlic bread, rice dips, cheese. All my relatives said their food was excellent, there was so much, 3 of my nephews needed doggy bags. Plenty of food, value for money and the service was so friendly. Will definitely be going again.

Loveley lunch on Sunday. We was a party of 23. Service brilliant. Food great all served together. Piping hot. Staff very attentive . Definitely go again.

Can't fault the food, delicious. We ordered food that wasn't all together on the menu, salmon and prawns from the salad, served with mashed potato, and was quite tasty. Love going to the ram's, never had a bad meal there. Staff are always friendly, doing as much as they can to help.

Lovely meals for all of us - party of 7 adults and 2 children. Children's meals were brought out first (good move!), everything was hot, beautifully served, tasted amazing and we were all very full when we left! And reasonably priced as well - can highly recommend 👌

Very spacious and good outdoor area. The food menu is crazy, so many options! Really yummy and the portions are huge, great value for money.

Went for Father's day. Food good and plentiful. Staff pleasant. Tables too close together, packed in like sardines, uncomfortable, touching chair behind when trying to get out. A nice touch was the chocolate fountain with marshmallow's and fudge just to finish the meal off.

Reasonable out of town pub. Nice decor, cheap food, good sized car park. It should get 4 stars but I feel compelled to down score it because of the unhelpful if not rude staff. I walked out after one drink and went elsewhere where I was made Welcome

It's a good pub good beer and food is great still good

Sometime since I've been able to go but the food is always good. Never had a bad meal here. We do have a takeaway quite often that you need to fetch yourself now but it's worth it especially their beer battered fish and chips, omg! To die for! Won't get them from anywhere else.

Great service. Staff very friendly and helpful. Went the with client I Support as a Support Worker. Who also enjoyed the the meal and service. Nothing was too much for the staff. They went above and beyond. Will be going back. Also recommend anyone to go.

Was recommended to visit for the Sunday carvery and was not dissapointed. The food was fresh and plentiful, the service was very good and helpful, and great value at £10.95 per head . The Rams Head is primarily a pub serving food, the restaurant room was reasonably furnished with a modest amount of ambience but it clearly has a very competant kitchen. The carvery roasts (beef, turkey breast, & pork) were tender but lacked in flavour, they were augmented by a plethora of accompanying savouries, creamed mushrooms , scampi, onion rings etc etc, the vegitable section was brimming with every possible favourite choice, cabbage , sprouts, carrots, leaks, sweet corn, cauliflower cheese, peas, runner beans, mashed boiled and roast spuds. If you have a good appetite multiple visits to the food fayre table are welcomed making excellent value for the big eater.

Unassuming from the outside; I was always told not to trust a pub with a flat roof... Nevertheless, the food was spot on, portions were generous without being ridiculous and the price was very reasonable. Staff were friendly and gave great service. I would highly recommend this place and will come again if I'm ever up this way again.

Not very good on our 2nd visit. Husbands burger was good but my beef strogonoff was tasteless and watery. There was a black hair on my straw in my drink so just removed the straw to be polite. Although quiet in the pub it took a while to get the dessert menu we asked for. By then we were ready to go home so didnt order anything else. Very expensive too :(

Lived in Longton for 25 years, first time customer at rams, starters not to bad , I’ve had the £25 mixed grill, totally overpriced the chips, onion rings superb, but the rest of it was below average, my son had a £20 burger alright but again not bad but not £20, 3 waitress but only 2 working 1 was eating crisps most of the time, chips superb, onion rings fantastic, rest of it total undefined food (fast food) totally overpriced, pie and chips place at best, but rams don’t try to be something you are not !!!!!!

Value for money very professional definitely go again

Son and daughter in law brought us here for food - absolutely amazing meals, generous portion size and really nice staff. If only we lived closer we would be in there every week. It's not often I go to a place and look at the menu and think there is a good half a dozen items I could really go for. Will definitely return next time we visit.
