First visit to here after getting back of holiday and couldn't be bothered cooking,we had fish chips and mushy peas on a meal deal which was good value including a drink as well ,food was still hot when we got home

Been to this place lots of times and it's usually excellent. Sadly the fish was really not up to standard tonight. It was hard and tasted a bit old or stale. Fish and chips are quite pricey now so it really needs to be up to standard. Will give it a swerve for a while and hope it was a one off.

Three times now I have ordered fish here and it is honestly terrible mostly batter and dry fish and the smallest but of fish you've ever seen. So disappointing especially when it's not cheap!

Possibly the best chip shop in the area for miles . Eat in the restaurant or take away, generous portions. Be aware cash only tho there is a cash machine about 30 yards away. Always immaculate clean it has busier times when collage students around but over all this place is as good as it gets for many miles

Fantastic fish and chips, great place to eat

Just moved nearby. The food I had tonight ranks as one of the worst fish and chips I’ve ever eaten. Chips were bone dry and undercooked. Large fish was small, thin, tasteless and the batter soggy. Gravy was thin and tasteless. Wouldn’t recommend.

This is basic eat in or take away chip shop. The food is excellent and good value;a better vegetarian choice would be great.

Women who served was very rude. Waited 20 mins for 2 portions of chips and a sausage. Average at best chips, will not be going here again.

The fish and chips are the best in Leyland. Portions are good. Staff are so friendly. You can even eat in. I usually get a large fish, regular chips and peas, when I've eaten all my fish I always want more. Fish is so white and flaky.

Had some lovely fish and chips at cross fish and chips, quite a big cafe,staff are cleaning all the time, freshly cooked food,big portions,pleasant staff and good price,what's not to like.

Best chippy in Leyland in my opinion I've sat in a few times as well as take away, the portions are always very generous. Only qualm I have is they want 30p for sauce...

Best chippy in the North West. The food is amazing, the service is fast and friendly and the price is great. If you have not been then definitely try it. They do some great lunch time specials until 3pm.

Drove a way to get to this well established and popular chippy mainly because you can eat in. Service was quick and friendly - really simple to contend with. Atmosphere was good with a full house on a Tuesday dinner time - surely the food must be equal to it at least! It wasn’t. Potion sizes good but the batter on the fish was just tasteless. Chips were fine and peas/gravy decent but the centrepiece of it all, the fish, was below average. If you could do a good batter, you’d be a class joint - please go and get some lessons.

Tried to order as people coming in after me were getting served first. Was told off and pointed towards a small sign giving order instructions. Managed to order and when paying was told cash only. Luckily I had enough as I don't normally carry more than 20 quid. The food was OK but over priced for the portion size. And cash only? Do me a favour in this day and age. There is one reason only for that and we all know what it is. I won't be going back.

Bought fish and chips and they were delicious, best I have tasted for a long time. My request for lightly battered fish was accepted, no questions. Small portion of fish and chips was ample for me and only £3.70. Definitely will be visiting again. There is a cafe where you can eat in with hot and cold drinks and plenty of extras to choose from.

Lots of chips, just a shame they weren't any good. There were no crispy ones at all and what there was seemed on the brink of undercooled in the middle; overly starchy-tasting middle of chip.

Been loads times but today awful dirty tables had wipe myself with tissue !! Ordered food for 3sall fish chips peas drink and 1 gluten free which had pay extra for as font doo meal deals on gluten free?? Ook no.probst then no gluten free vinegar ?? Pointless as can't use MALT vinegar was just told no don't do it?? So had to have jyst salt on meal ordered 2 teas which didn't come utilll we asked and werenearly finished eating by time git it!! No sorry so very disappointed as we have been several ties without the pperso who is gluten free so after singing it's praises we ere very disappointed and that person would never go again I can't believe how slack it was today and surprised at such bad service would have think twice now if would take children again even without our gluten free customer not happy at all

Awful food chips were like bits ,fish batter was solid and in the middle a pool of oil ,the food is getting more expensive yet the quality and quantity are getting smaller ,they slowly making all the cartons and boxes smaller and smaller

I had fish, chips and mushy peas and my wife had battered sausage, chips and gravy. They where both excellent. The staff very nice, and polite and the food was very fast for a Friday early evening.

I have visited this chippy many times now and can with all honesty say its one of the best in the area for a traditional English fish and chips.

This must be the worst gravy I have an eaten in my life. It’s like watery piss. No taste at all. And well over priced. Can’t taste any salt and vinegar well and truly ruined my day. I don’t like confrontation other wise i would be taking this right back 😡

I have had a few separate takeaways from here before and they are outstanding. Listen to this though folks. Small Fish, Chips, Mushy Peas and a pot of tea. Sit in. £4-90, yes £4-90, I'll Say it again £4-90. Great quality and a decent portion. Brilliant. Would highly recommend. Thankyou.

Probably the Best fish,chips and burger restaurant in the Northwest. If you're on the M6 come off at j28 and head for Leyland Cross always worth a visit. Five Stars.

we have binned our food the minute we got home. Scampi- so dark and dry inside it was obvous they were left cold and fried again. Fish - what fish ? all batter - oil dripping from inside it. Chips- swiming in ovefried oil. If we didnt live 5miles away Id be driving back asking for my money back. Never ever again. Only went because our regular fish shop was closed. Abysmal is an understatement

Really nice, portions are HUGE. Don't order large portions unless you are really hungry. Quite fancy eating in one day as so far we've only ever had takeaway. This is our new fish & chip shop though now our original place had shut down.

CASH ONLY! We ate in and had gluten-free fish and chips with mushy peas, all delicious. As it's a special order, it takes a little longer but comes hot and crispy. Great value for money. There's good spacing between tables and hand gel available as you walk into the restaurant area. Free parking directly outside. I've been again taken away and eaten inside both times just as good. Friendly busy staff. Make sure you say you're eating in!

The staff were extremely rude to me and my pregnant girlfriend. Our food was served cold and incorrect, and was refused a refund. Then proceeded to tell us it was our fault for not eating fast enough yet we only had the food for 5 minutes. The manager was extremely rude, giving us dirty looks and abusive language

1st time trying the chippy. Only take cash so you need to walk to the cash point! Chips very good but peas were stone cold. Steak pudding not the best I’ve had. Won’t be going back in a hurry.

Good quality..had fish and chips with a side of curry sauce..quick service,it was a Saturday evening around 5pm so I was expecting a long wait but was in and out in 20 mins..that included an order for 3 people.
