The food is always fresh, hot and served with fantastic service. The owners are always pleasant and very polite , they are a real credit to leyland. The prices are reasonable and portions perfect size, the menu is varied with fried chicken or kebabs also cooked fresh to order We always go here for our chippy teas !

Seriously some of the best chips I have ever tried. The sausage was incredibly large and tasty, and would definitely come here again, the food was ready fast, nice and hot, and within a medium price range.

Excellent service from Memo and the team, great smiling faces, my first time here and definitely coming again. The Plaice was highly recommended by David at Screwfix, Leyland. Parking on side street for 1 hour. Great choice of meals, even got a taster of the kebabs they make, a local customer from Bamberbridge highly recommends it. Sounds like a lot of customers come here from many different places. Definitely coming back. My food was piping hot so I was extremely happy after working outside all day !!

Ordered large chips,sausage,curry,pea’s and 3potato scallops and they threw in another couple of scallops for free. Much appreciated as they are delicious. Fast delivery also👍

Gutted heard such good things about this place when I walked in seen a big fresh donner roll on heat ordered one only to be given scraps out of the bottom tray. Mrs chicken kebab was superb maybe just unlucky

I ordered shish and chicken kebab. The order was wrong. I asked for a large one 2 skewers for 9 pounds he then said that's 14 pounds so I said no I ain't paying that and walked out to go somewhere else. You could have bought 2 to 3 chickens for that price. Hi we went again on the 09/ 10 /2022 ordered chips large chips regular mushy peas curry sauce jumbo sausage, I complained that the sausage mushy pea's curry sauce would where getting cold on top of the counter while we waited for the chips . The manager came out with I'm not frightened of you , that's no way to speak to your customers.

Very disappointed with food from here. Chips were cold and rubbery and fish taste like old oil. Won't be going back which is a shame as I came here very often years ago when there were different owners. .

Just moved to this area and thought we would try this chippy and I’m not going to lie it was the best I’ve ever been too the portions were really good and fresh, lovely clean shop and the staff are lovely and friendly I’ve been twice since as my kids say they really enjoy that chippy and my kids are usually fussy great little chippy highly recommend

This is a great little chippy and they are always friendly and pleased to see you whether you call in the shop or they deliver. The food is always fresh and hot and very tasty. Chip portions are huge as are the large fish. Puddings are delicious and the mushy peas taste traditional rather than marrowfat tinned. Highly recommended.

Ordered from here last night, not sure if the meals were warmed up from lunch time, the fish was chewy and tastless, the batter was like rubber and the chips weren't so good either. And (for the price it cost) I was expecting a very tasty 5*meal.

bought 2 pies one was out of date and there other didn’t look good at all. There scallops which were black inside looked disgusting. I will not be going back. This shop has changed hands

Used to have fish most Fridays from here, went today to find the sad news the previous owners had sold.The fish was disgusting,not cod,not haddock,not fresh,possibly Basa or similar, had a couple of bites and then binned.Its taken me all afternoon to get the disgusting aftertaste out of my mouth .Drinking neat turpentine would leave a nicer palate

Tried to order a fish as l walked in was told to ask again when l get to the near the front! Was told there was already orders in! This put me off although I did ask again because I was hungry! Not impressed with the cant manage owner! Fish and chips were ok, will not be going back here, need to learn how to speak to people properly!

I had the pleasure of being served by a very friendly couple who obviously really care about good customer service.So much so I felt I must spare a little time to show my appreciation by writing a review.Both the fish and chips were of exceptional quality and I thoroughly enjoyed it!The first thing I could smell was the curry sauce as I walked into their spotlessly clean shop and felt I must buy some!There were two choices of either spicy or fruity. The spicy was delicious but will try the fruity version next time!Can’t wait to call again. :0)

Visited today and very disappointed in the numerous green, part soggy, part hard and generally tasteless chips and overwhelming bits of chip.Staff are very friendly but let down by the standard of food.

Visited today with a small order for 3, now I appreciate that cooking from fresh does take a little time but I was waiting for a good 25 mins for my order. They forgot to put the chicken nuggets on that I ordered so had to wait for these to come out, the ladies serving had a little bicker about this which made me feel slightly uncomfortable, the poor lady that got the blame genuinely looked embarrassed and upset. The curry sauce was way to runny, consensus from all that had it and the chips were average, some very hard and green. Overall, I think there are better chippies in leyland , so probably wouldn’t come back.

It has been a while since i last had Fish and Chips with Mushy peas.well worth the trip to Leyland and three very Happy eaters.Fish individually cooked fresh in the batter, that does make the difference, and not sitting in a warming shelve.It really stands out amongst most of the local Chippy,s by a long way and they are very pleasant.My Boomerang Chippy

Haven't had a chippy tea in months so we thought we'd try The Plaice as we haven't been since it re-opened, we're very glad we decided we come here.Very friendly staff, very clean shop and the food was lovely, We received very good size portions and the batter on the fish was not too thick and dark .... our plates were clean.

Was at work in the area went in and was amazed by the food and the customer service polite, Clean and Freindly can’t wait to be back in the area again.

Regularly travel up and down the M6 to and from Glasgow. Found The Plaice by chance this week and it'll be a regular stop on my road home now.

This is my first visit with the new Owners, and twice in a week, unusual for me I can tell you.Real mushy peas made daily and the Fish and Chips were brilliant, fresh every day.The staff are cheerful and friendly and I ate mine today on the walk back home.On my boomerang list and will have to start walking more than I do.

Great to find a place that cooks the fish to order! Instead of the ones that keep the fish sitting in the heating plates when it’s busy. Lovely fresh batter and lots of choice. Good chips too and nothing greasy.

Absolutely spot on food, owner very friendly, I would highly recommend this if your looking for a honest excellently priced fish and chip shop, my fish was cooked fresh for me, I sat outside at one of the few tables, lots of locals dining as well tea and coffee brought out to three ladies eating.All in all a very enjoyable experience, I hope the owner does well with her new venture!!

The local people will know why this chip shop was closed last year until recently when new owners took over. They spent a small fortune on new equipment but the opening hours are very restricted and when am in the area I have yet to see it open on top of that the shop was closed for a week due to holidays.I pass this chip shop 5-6 times a week but have not been in as it was shut.

We visited for a cheeky lazy tea. Such great friendly service. Chips weren’t ready so the owner said sit outside and she’d bring them out to us as it was a really hot day. Best chips we have had in ages and the steak pudding was great too. Will be visiting again.

Had fish and chips on Saturday night we had gone into leyland for a few drinks and decided to eat at the chippy rather than spend a fortune in a restaurant, as it was a beautiful day we sat outside in the sun. The staff were fantastic and brought our food outside for us. The chips were cooked just right and the fish was perfect we also got curry with it and ordered the spicy curry, again it was delicious i would definately go back again

We've been this chipy many times and we did love it at first but the last three or so times we've been it's not been up to scratch which is a shame the fish has been mostly batter and we've asked for large chips with them each time and we've got hardly any I mean the chips don't even come to half way in the dish it comes in and they've been chips that have been sat there for awhile dried up and brown. And it's far from cheap so I expect a higher standard for them prices I'm afraid.

La calidad siempre está ahí y, junto con el precio que simplemente no puede ser mejor, en nuestra opinión.

Local chippy in the area and we always find that food is nice and cooked fresh, very reasonable prices, they always have offers on too. The only problem, if it is a problem is, they don't sell tartar sauce to have with fish and chips.

Go to this chippy a lot but lately everytime I get gravy it's vanished by the time I get home please can you just put some extra gravy on next time and stop being so tight with it. Great chippy tho

Had not planned to go to this chippy but our usual one was closed. I asked my partner to get me a fishcake which I don't normally have as usually it tastes like its straight out of Iceland and into the fryer, however he forgot what I wanted and asked if they did a fish scallop so the staff member said yes & went in the back to freshly make it so it actually had a real pieces of fish in it and was in batter rather than breadcrumbs, it was very nice albeit very potatoey. I'm glad he forgot what I wanted. The chips & gravy were really good & the sausage was standard chippy sausage. This could be our new regular chippy!

In a nutshell review, faultless fish and chips and definately the best in Leyland! I have been here many times since it opened and credit where credits due it has been faultless everytime with great sized fish portions. Definately one of the best chippies I have ever been to.

Best chippy inland in the uk in my opinion! I have bee spoilt as a child visiting lots of coastal regions and tastes some fantastic chippies! However for an inland chippy this has to be the best by far! Super fresh fish, coated in crispy not oily batter and plenty of chips! The chip barm is basically chips with bread! It's super and a great price! Eat here and save the local chippies!
