Visited for a meal on East Anglian Derby Final night. We were put in a hospitality box downstairs but had the same service/menu as we would have had in the restaurant upstairs. The food quality was absolutely superb and the portion sizes were generous (I had previously felt they were a little sparce) Waitress service was good and the fact that we got our own drinks and had to go to the bar to place our bets was a plus rather than a negative particlarly as previous experiences were that the tote operator didn't always make it round everyone upstairs. Only negative is that starters/dessserts are not included in the price when you book. I appreciate it kept the price down to £25.99 but would rather have paid £35.99 and had a 3 course meal. Surely it would be more profitable for the stadium as well? After all, it was sold out.

We arrived in Dartmouth for a weeks holiday and after reading the reviews thought Bushell’s Upper Deck sounded great so we walked down to give it a go. It’s a pop up restaurant and it was its last night of the summer. They welcomed us, explained as it was their last night there was a limited menu. We had a super meal, starters of squid and garlic flatbread, followed by seafood risotto and American pizza, finished off with tiramisu and ice cream. Fabulous food, great service, very friendly and welcoming and fabulous views. We certainly struck lucky! Thank you!

We parked to the rear to go on a local walk with the hope of a pint afterwards. When we got back the landlord opened early for us (a group of 9) to have a well earned pint, pet the pub dog (Sonny) and play some darts! Really friendly, lovely welcoming atmosphere. Thank you!

Had lunch here with a very large family group 17 of us ,the meal had been pre-arranged .The staff were lovely very friendly and welcoming .We were in the Royalist restaurant ,people say the hotel is out dated ,but that is part of the history of the hotel and character , modern decor would not do the hotel justice , and shrewsbury town is a medieval town , the Prince Rupert was former home to Prince Rupert the grandson of King James 1 ,so why would anyone want to change such an Iconic hotel into a modern hotel . Our food and service was fantastic the serving staff were lovely very efficient and we didn't have to wait long between courses . My partner and I had Sweet corn Veloute for starters ,then Hake and then Chocolate Brownie with ice cream ,Every course was delicious served on hot plates . So if you like places with history and good food and service ,I can highly recommend the Prince Rupert every where was lovely and clean too .

Dirty tables, staff who clearly had never worked behind a bar before, gin and tonic no lemon or lime, run out of branded glasses… really poor, come on it’s not that difficult!

I hadn't been to the restaurant for a long time. But, when I visited the U.K. this year, it was the first place I went to eat

We had a birthday afternoon tea here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Being February and miserable weather, we had the place to ourselves but the staff had gone to a lot of effort - decorating the birthday girl's table with birthday confetti. Nice and cosy inside. The food was very good - nice selection of sandwiches - what I would call sensible fillings like cheese and chutney, ham and tomato, tuna mayo, and egg. Our only comment would be to include a few more of the tuna and egg ones as there were quite a few of the ham and tomato which for our group was the least popular flavour. A selection of four different cakes - carrot, victoria sponge, chocolate and a very good syrupy flapjack. Small pieces but we liked that as you could have a bit of everything without feeling like you were going to explode! Very fresh and tasty. Finally cream scones - and yay - proper clotted cream! My son has a lot of allergies so chose a baked potato off the main menu. The staff were very helpful at the booking stage sorting out his meal and he enjoyed it. Am sure it must be lovely in summer time with all the plants and being able to sit outside - will definitely come back again.

I visit this café almost every week, and it never disappoints! The service is always excellent, and the quality is outstanding, all at a very reasonable price. The food is absolutely delicious, and their scones are simply unforgettable – the best you’ll ever try. I highly recommend stopping by this wonderful café; you won’t regret it!
