We stayed in room 4 just for the 1 night . The hosts were fantastic . The room was clean and well kept . We had a great nights sleep and woke up to the best breakfast I have ever had . I’m not sure how they do it for the price they charged . Thank you for a fantastic stay . See you again soon

Stayed two nights at the Chapel House restaurant with rooms in June as we were attending a wedding nearby. POSITIVES The pre ordered breakfast was excellent and is served when you wish. The bedroom was clean. It was in a good location for our wedding. NEGATIVES There is a fine line between traditional furniture and tired. It felt tired and the beds were not too comfortable. The bathroom was clean but yet again in need of refurbishment. In my opinion the photos on the website are deceiving and for what we paid it did not live up to expectations and would not return.

Evening meal for two .....We visited Chapel House using a Gift Voucher given to us by our children for our wedding anniversary. Finding were.... Excellent a la carte menu with an alternate choice of Xmas menu. We were greeted at the door with a warm and friendly welcome, the dining room decor was lovely and fitting for the period of the building with a lovely warm and comfortable atmosphere. The service was excellent with a complimentary visit from the chef mid meal for a satisfaction report. Food rating: we would give as excellent 5* with 100% customer satisfaction. It is worth noting that this restaurant offers various Theme Nights to name just a few: Italian, French, Spanish, Flambe evenings, Fish and Game. At the end of the meal upon leaving we were accompanied to the door and given a warm and friendly thank you which along with the service and attention received left us feeling as though our custom had been highly appreciated. We would both highly recommend eating here and we will certainly visit again.

What a gem of a place! I had a dog friendly room and the bed had a flannel sheet on top of the bedspread as they are aware it is impossible to keep a dog off furniture. Everything so clean and very generous with soaps, shampoos, sleep kit and wide range of drinks. Slept very well on the comfortable bed, very peaceful. Breakfast was wonderful and a sausage for my dog too. Please don’t hesitate to book, you’ll get a very warm welcome for sure.

We all had a really enjoyable evening. Food is top notch, great hosts. Crumble the dog is lovely.

The food is excelent and the staff very helpful. It has parking but it's quite limited. The bedroom was small but clean, comfortable and really well equipped. The only downside that I found was that it took about 10min for the water in the shower to come out hot, which is not very sustainable

A lovey restaurant, fab food, very welcoming and good value too. Only 10 minutes walk from the canal - would really recommend if you are mooring in Atherstone.

Stayed here whilst attending a friends wedding reception. Communication with venue was excellent with handy tips about parking and booking taxis before arrival. Greeted by friendly owners who were very helpful and informative. Rooms were in keeping with the building. There was a great selection of toiletries and extras including sewing kits, cotton wool balls, ear buds and sleeping masks. Lovely range of quality complimentary drinks with cows and oak milk provided. Breakfast was preordered from an extensive list which meant it was served efficiently and hot! The owners couldn’t do enough for us and were chatty and lovely. Thank you .

Spent a week here for a business trip in January 2023. It was an excellent choice. The food was tremendous, they were able to mix it up for breakfast everyday to my culinary pleasure. Extremely hospitable, even allowing me to leave extra luggage I’ll need for my next trip. The building is quite old, I loved the charm and the location right on the market square and only steps away from downtown. Plenty of additional eateries if desired. Also, groceries and pubs nearby. Can’t make a high enough recommendation.

We had a family get together here. Food, drinks, service and atmosphere were all excellent! I will certainly come again.

Went to the Chapel yesterday as a party of 7 for a 60th birthday. I was a little apprehensive as many of the photos show lovely meat based meals so was not sure how well we would asking for plant based. I should not have worried at all. Great food all the way through. Kicking myself I should have take a photo. Would go again.

This restaurant is such a refreshing change from the plethora of loud places to eat. It's so relaxing not to have to raise you voice to be heard by your dinner companions. The food is delicious and the service attentive but not intrusive. We enjoyed it so much. Highly recommended.

Excellent food with locally sourced produce and very accommodating hosts.

Booked a table 2 weeks ago, arrived and was greeted with “oh this is a lot of people” there were 5 of us. The lady stated we had not booked and proceeded to look through the page a day diary and unable to find us. No apology was offered or attempt at looking for a table just shut the door behind us. At no point apologized or considered it could be their fault. If you book get confirmation in writing. Not even an apology or attempt at rectifying the situation, just shut the door rudely behind us. Luckily another local restaurant accommodated us.

From the nice friendly welcome through to the final sweet experience my wife and I had a truly excellent evening. The Chef truly is worthy of Michelin Star quality, whilst the owner and her waitresses were friendly not over powering, explained the menu to the wines excellently and service was exemplary. Starter Main and Sweet were excellent and we would recommend to anyone wanting a fine dining experience. It was our first time at Chapel House but it won't be our last.

We came for Valentine weekend, on the Saturday night. The whole experience was very enjoyable. The food was outstanding and the Chef came to each table to ask if we enjoyed our meal. I would highly recommend.

The porridge!!!!! The porridge is amazing and creamy and delicious! Visit just for the porridge! Everything else is very nice.

Attended one of the Starters and afters evenings in July and had a fantastic meal. The concept is simple: You select 5 dishes from the evening's menu of starters and desserts. Its up to you whether you have 5 starters, 5 desserts or a combination. I ended up having 3 starters and 2 desserts. Food, atmosphere and service were all great. Dietary requirements are well catered for.

Our third visit but first since covid struck. Superb food for dinner ( hubby ate the same main course - pork fillet stuffed with Armagnac soaked prunes - two nights running. Excellent wine list. And very good value. Room was simple but comfortable and the situation is very quiet and relaxed. Siobhan and richard are excellent hosts. Breakfast really tasty. Also there was ‘enough’ of everything but we didn’t feel bloated and stuffed, despite some wonderful rich sauces. Highly recommend. We were their first guests post lockdown and there the first night ( and second) the restaurant opened. Bravo!

We have visited Chapel House a few times to celebrate special occasions. The whole experience is always first class. You get a warm welcome, a great selection of food and it really doesn’t matter what you pick as it is always delicious and the whole dining experience is exceptional. Would highly recommend to everyone, you just can’t fault it!

We frequent Chapel House several times a year and on each occasion we receive the same high level quality of food and service and long may it continue! We are looking forward to our next visit for the Flambé evening on February 29th!

For my husbands 80th birthday we booked a celebration lunch for 20 friends and family. Although it was normally a day off for Richard & Siobhan they opened especially for us and made us very welcome. We enjoyed an excellent meal, nothing was too much trouble and I can’t thank them enough - I hope they read this!!

Went to Chapel House to celebrate my birthday. We were not disappointed. From our first meeting with the host we were welcomed and made to feel comfortable. The waitress was charming nothing too much trouble. Food amazing. Beautifully cooked and presented. We will definitely return. Nice touch the chef came and asked us if all was good.

Just the most perfect place to have a special dinner if you’re celebrating.

This was our second visit to Chapel House a d won’t be our last We came here in the summer of 2018 to kick start our honeymoon and December 2018 for our second wedding anniversary. Service again was great. I love that you get to sit in the Lounge in the wi yet or garden in the summer before your meal to look at menu and enjoy a drink. We really enjoyed the little tasters before our meal and the food is excellent. The portions are perfect and the quality of meat is superb. We really have enjoyed our visits and look forward to future celebrations there too.

We arranged a pre-Christmas lunch for 13 here to mark a particularly important family occasion but one which needed to be quiet and low key. We had a disabled lady with us as well as 2 small children, challenge for any establishment.Our pre dinner drinks were served in a cosy lounge, and we migrated to the dining room for lunch, which we had to ourselves. The service was efficient and friendly but with gaps between courses to chat and digest. We didn't feel at all rushed.Everyone enjoyed their meals, I can particularly recommend the beetroot smoked salmon and the pheasant, which can often be a bit dry but this most certainly wasn't.The Christmas pudding was served with an appropriate level of theatre and was delicious, other puddings were available and also went down well.This family run establishment absolutely hit the spot for us, it's like a country house hotel with the relaxed but professional service you would expect. The carpeted lounge and restaurant were most welcome, as it made for a quiet environment without the clatter that comes many restaurantsThe website makes the place look a little dated, and the environment is certainly traditional, don't be deceived, the food, wine and service really punches above its weight.

This was the second time we visited Chapel House for a special meal and we will visit again. We came here last year the evening before of honeymoon and enjoyed champagne in the beautiful garden, before dining in the restaurant. We enjoyed to good and the warm friendly service so much we came back for our anniversary. The second time we drank a lively bottle of wine in the lounge area, which was warm and homely before being shown to the dining room for our meal. The service as before was excellent and the food perfect. We love the seasonal meals and locally sourced produce too. My husband had the venison and I had the lamb. Both were tender and cooked to perfection. We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful evening. Thank you so much.

With the wife and I living in atherstone for most of our years, we were always intrigued by local history. So not only did we have a very relaxing meal, in a amazing building we learnt a little more history about our town.

Beautiful place and superb food. Fabulous customer service. You get what you pay for in terms of food but it is a special dining experience that compliments the high quality of dishes. Please go.

Our first visit here, and we've already decided we will be back. Lovely warm welcome. Great choice on menu, so much it was hard to choose what to have. Smoked salmon starter was so tasty, husband loved the risotto. We both loved the steaks for our main course, cooked perfectly and so tasty. Great choices of cheese for me, served perfectly and the duo of chocolate was apparently lovely. Well worth a visit

This was our first visit and we really enjoyed the whole experience. In a good way, we thought the place had a quirky nostalgia. The whole evening was a delight with very good service, a really good wine list and some well presented tasty food. It was a few hours of relaxing fun in a lovely old building . We thought the pace of service and food was similar to a number of places we have visited in France. Our favourite food since we moved to the area and we will be returning for my birthday treat.

I travel a lot on business and get tired of the chain hotels with noisy bar areas and standard food so this is a treasure and somewhere to look forward to going at the end of a day's work. Dinner is special, freshly prepared and served in a beautiful dining room with classical music playing quietly in the background. The rooms are extremely comfortable and also quiet and then breakfast is also freshly cooked with a good variety of choice to begin the day.

We had a fabulous meal, it really was amazing. The staff looked after us throughout the meal. We couldn't ask for more. I would definitely recommend.

We have been meaning to come here for a while. We were impressed with the whole evening. We stated in the drawing room to look over the menu and have a pre meal drink. We made our orders and were then lead to the atmospheric dining room. We were given a taster soup before our main meal. The attention to detail in the quailty of the food is what you always hope for and seldom get. This is a small and friendly team, who know what they are doing. After the meal the chef came and had a chat and talked about locally sourced and seasonal produce used. We have booked to return in April to celebrate a big birthday with all the family. After discussing our desires, within 48 hours an emailed proposal has been sent and included detailed with had not considered. We have no hesitation in recommending this and whilst it is not cheap, I do not consider this expensive.

From the moment the door was opened in our arrival and we were greeted by name we knew this would be special.

Have dined here before and will be going back. The food is awesome. We attended a special menu evening where the chef/owner Richard cooked flambe for each table in turn at the table. A great evening. Have already booked the next evening there. Fine Dining at reasonable prices.

Had dined here before for a friend's birthday and was most impressed with the service and food. We decided to stay for three nights. Not so good, the room we were given, rather small and a pet hate of mine only one chair in the room. Parking was difficult but in fairness the owners extremely helpful moving their own car to accommodate us. Our evening meal the first night was really good and excellent service. Breakfast very good. Second evening meal booked a table for 7 30. We waited and watched whilst everyone else was served. Two tables of four and one of two. And we waited well over an hour, no explanation given. Not happy. Food was good when it did arrive. But it did spoil our stay.

I looked for a 'fine dining' establishment as my usual place was closed for renovations. And then trying to find a decent restaurant that opens on Monday evenings! Thus I found Chapel House during an internet search and how glad I did!

This wasn’t our first visit but was as enjoyable as ever. We love the food and the ambience. Always a lovely evening.

This restaurant's excellent food and wine together with it's appealing setting somewhat let down by clunky service including a 20minute wait for the bill when only 12 other diners nearing the end of their meals still present, lack of information as to accompaniments to main courses and the cheese board, and a slightly lackadaisical attitude regarding attitude to customer's needs....as well as a somewhat patronising response to a request for a steak knife....but the food, though not faultless being as the risotto starter was somewhat disappointing, was in general superbly cooked and presented. We could not recommend without provisos as to the slightly turgid ambience and dilatory service....but certainly could wholeheartedly recommend the food.

Looked for some fine dining in the town and came across Chapel House. What a fantastic place. Excellent Food and Service. Would love to stay over next time we visit but unfortunately the rooms are not pet friendly.

It has to be said that the ambiance is just right, the setting is just right, the service is just right .... the food and wine just right which all adds up to an excellent evening. In fact you can say that our experience of Chapel House was a resounding ..”we will return to experience the food -superb, the service - faultless, the wine- extensive list, oh and probably the best liquor coffee we’ve ever had the pleasure of drinking” ... Have been meaning to try this often recommended restaurant for a while. I was very glad i did, the food was excellent, the service faultless and the atmosphere relaxing. I have already booked up again! It is a hidden gem in the Midlands.

Food is consistently great, the wine list is extensive and always excellent. Specials change daily. I wish I could eat there more often :)

Had to post my review. Great if not odd accommodation!! The chiming bell every hour is unique? Annoying? Damn right disgraceful and should be warned to weary travelers?, but the room was exceptionally clean and tidy and food was dynamite!! Pricey.....but dynamite.....!!

Friends of ours recommended Chapel House, we're so glad they did. Excellent service and a lovely menu. For main course we had the lamb and the fillet steak.. neither of us were disappointed. Excellent value for money.

Ate here with family on Saturday evening. We were treated to the Garden Room as we were a party of 8. What a wonderful evening we all had. The room was perfect. The food delicious, freshly cooked to order by the very amenable chef. The service fantastic. The atmosphere spot on.

what a first rate place my friend and i stayed over for one night with dinner which was fantastic and breakfast in the morning was possible the best way to start the day !!

Excellent from the minute we wicked in and were offered a drink in the cosy lounge . Young man waiting on tables and greeting customers was friendly and well mannered deserving of a special mention. The owners one of who was the chef came and spoke to us as well a nice touch . Perfect birthday treat

We had not eaten here for several years and decided on a return. Chapel House had not changed much but the owners had. We were told that they had been developing their hotel business and the atmosphere felt very much like such an establishment. Nothing much had changed inside but the duck pond was pleasant viewing and passed the time while we ordered. The meal was competently cooked and well served. A little too expensive for what it was. Maybe the price reflected what business guests were prepared to pay. The wine list offered a good selection. On reflection, the meal was good but not very good, trip advisor does not provide this option hence the average rating.

Richard provides excellent food and wine every visit. He will amend dishes if you have an allergy. Lovely decor in a listed building. We go 6-7 times a year. Prices are very reasonable for wine and food.

We really didn't deserve to find Chapel House - we turned up without a booking looking for dinner and were overwhelmed with how good it was.

We went to Chapel House to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful Georgian house in an attractive corner of Atherstone. We were shown to a pleasant lounge overlooking a lovely courtyard garden. As there were only three couples waiting for a meal, it felt rather stilted and awkward sitting waiting to place our order. However, the waitress who served us was very pleasant.

We had a fantastic night for our Wedding Anniversary. Every dish was exquisite and the attention to detail is second to none. Great freshly cooked food in a lovely venue. Thank you x

The meal was Superb. The wine came from an extensive cellar in this very old house. The couple who owned and ran the Chapel, husband and wife. He, the extraordinary Chef served out of this world plates of sumptuous delicacies with wine to match! Why...

I happened on this rather fine eating establishment whilst out in the square of the town of Atherstone and was very pleasantly surprised when I decided to visit and partake of a repast there , It is rather expensive but not to worry because it really is worth every penny . The restaurant has a very grand serene atmosphere and the waiters / waitresses are extremely courteous towards their guests and they go out of their way to make you feel like a king and that is exactly how I felt whilst dining in there and the food which is served is just marvelous . I thoroughly enjoyed my repast in there it was the most eximious repast I'd ever partaken of in many years . I much prefer the clientele of Chapel house to many of the other establishments which make up town of Atherstone , The prices are higher than usual but that's to be expected if you want good clientele of class to inhabit the restaurant . You won't find any of the usual filthy rubbish in here . I would highly recommend this eating establishment to anyone who wishes to experience excellent service and remarkable cuisine

A beautiful hotel with elegant surroundings . Service was top class and food was outstanding the best I have had in a very long time it was definitely fine dining our room was relaxing and comfortable and breakfast was delicious thank you for a lovely weekend

Went to celebrate a friends birthday, paid £15 for an afternoon tea which constisted of 3 finger sandwiches,1 onion tartlet,1 scone and 1 slice of chocolate cake (which most people in our table left)on and a lot of tea.Presentation was a bit poor.. just put on plain plates, no China or cake stands...just felt really let down considering the good reviews...had much better at other places for half the money. Surroundings were not what I expected either..don't know if I'd go there again.
