The best restaurants serving British food in England

Went for afternoon tea for Mother’s Day and my god was I blown away!! The food was beautiful and so boujee! Felt like a real fine dining experience for a quarter of the cost! All tasted beautiful and felt extremely catered to. Well done to all at the Littleton x

Pre birthday celebration lunch with a friend. As always the staff were fabulous, nothing was too much trouble. A happy birthday banner was decorating the table which was a lovely touch. The food was exceptional and the menu left us spoilt for choice. The 3 fish main course and the belly pork were fabulous, tasty and cooked to perfection. My friend had the special coffee and walnut dessert which she said was amazing. Full marks to the chef. All in all a lovely lunch, can't wait for the next one. Thank you Helen and Steve for a great start to my birthday celebrations!

Fantastic Sunday roast and great service!

Went to a friend Wedding reception celebration afternoon high tea. The staff were delightful and attentive, the sandwiches and cakes were super nice!

This was my first visit to The Salmon Leap although I have heard about it for years. I had thought because of the name that it was close to the river which it is not, so that was a bit disappointing! As others have said the value is very good, I had Rabbit and Bacon Pie which was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

You really can’t go wrong with this chip shop from the food to the staff they are 10/10. I always order via uber eats and never had a bad experience, the fish and chips are very tasty and you get a nice portion at a good price. The delivery is always really quick, on one occasion the uber driver was taking long to pick up my order so they rescheduled the driver and called me to apologise which wasn’t their fault so over all 10/10 give it a try

Great staff, wonderful Sunday lunch. From the first Hello at the bar to the waitress service we were made very welcome. Happy to swap cauliflower cheese for regular cauliflower the vegetables were cooked to perfection. There were options to have less meat at a reduced price (or more for more.)

Lovely atmosphere and dog friendly.

A great meal, their first Mexican evening. The burrito was delicious, definitely the best I'd eaten in years. The staff as usual were lovely, and wearing Mexican sombrero which added to the atmosphere. Here's hoping that this was the first of many.......we will definitely be booking for the next one.

This is a gem of a find. We were staying in our caravan and had Sunday lunch here. The owners have created a quirky ambience. The food itself was outstanding, large meat portions, huge Yorkshire puds and amazing roast potatoes. All home cooked. Vegetables were perfectly cooked and a good selection. We could not manage a pud but the ones we saw looked amazing. Meal with 2 drinks each (2 wines and 2 soft drinks) £50.

Thank you so much we had my friends baby shower on Sunday and it was absolutely fabulous wonderful service beautifully decorated. Nothing was too much trouble and the afternoon tea was amazing. I would highly recommend. Thank you. Bluebells tea room.
