Amazing how such a tight team turned the rooms around for each part of a wedding that I went to recently. The place is beautiful. Fantastic staff, good food and good booze selection. A wonderful place for intimate weddings.

We were guests at my nephew’s wedding held at this picturesque and beautifully presented venue yesterday. We were particularly impressed at the seamless service. The staff really knew what they were doing. They were friendly but unobtrusive and everything flowed perfectly throughout the day. The food was excellent (and again perfectly timed). I would thoroughly recommend

We were the wedding DJs at Lains Barn for Pete and Serena and provided a full day of music. The main barn where everything takes place is just beautiful and we had a seperate room out the back to store equipment so everything could run that bit smootly. The staff were all great and even helped us unload when we arrived. We absolutley LOVE playing at Lains Barn and are looking forward to coming back again soon!

The wedding was a joy due to the bride and groom’s wonderful planning. The food was very tasty and the venue was very pretty. The only disappointment was the bar staff and waitress service. They were unaccommodating and grumpy.

What a fantastic day we had at my daughter's wedding this weekend. I truly cannot fault it at all. The staff are friendly and nothing was too much trouble to arrange for a day that was perfect from start to finish. A truly magical place

I cannot fault Lains Barn from start to finish. The food was delicious and a decent portion, the venue is enclosed and private which is great for keeping guests all together and the team were very helpful and accomodating. We had our wedding booked in 2021 but had to move it to 2022 due to Covid and they didn't charge us anything extra and even honoured their 2021 prices for food and drink. All in all, a top knotch venue with staff to match.

Lains Barn is the most perfect venue for a wedding! We have just celebrated our daughter's wedding at Lains, and whilst the backdrop itself is fabulous, the level of service and care were also excellent, and greatly enhanced the overall experience. We were so well looked after that we were able to really relax and enjoy the day. The barn itself is just beautiful, with converted byre buildings bordering it on two sides, one containing the bar (note: reasonable bar prices too!) The venue is set around a central lawn. We had good weather for our event but with so much cover, Lains Barn is really a venue the weather can't spoil. It was a magical setting for the wedding and I really can't praise it highly enough

My daughter had her wedding here in August 2021. This was the third attempt as the previous two had to be cancelled due to Covid. Rachel was extremely helpful with all the plans and re-arranging the plans. The venue was ideal for a summer wedding, with plenty of space to sit and socialise outside. There was plenty of room for the children to run around and play on. The food was excellent for both meat eaters and vegetarians. It was beautifully presented. The pizzas in the evening were fresh and delicious, coming at just the right time to refuel after some dancing. The band were very good, playing a variety of music styles. The staff were very efficient and unobtrusive. After 18 months of covid restrictions it was a pure joy to be able to celebrate this special occasion in such a wonderful setting.

We had our wedding here recently during covid times and EVERYONE went above and beyond to help us achieve as close to our originally planned wedding as possible (if not better!). Martin has been incredible since we met him when we came to see the venue last year and straight away we had the feeling that this would be the right venue for us, we were correct with our gut feeling :) Rachel was brilliant throughout, answering all of our questions pretty much within minutes! Throughout this testing time we were not sure if we would even be able to have our wedding however we all carried on planning our dream wedding and were so lucky to be able to have our wedding this year. The catering team and the staff who looked after us on the day were all incredible too - following all covid regulations - however still allowing us to have a perfect wedding. Could not recommend enough. Thank you so much!! :) :)

My granddaughters wedding here was perfect from start to finish. Couldn't fault it at all. We had vegetarian menu which was lovely, lawn games and pizzas were great entertainment.

Attended our friends wedding and reception! Beautiful venue and very friendly staff!!! Having lawn games to play such as Jenga and connect 4 is a lovely touch!! I am gluten free and they ensured I had a stress free time with regards to food! Even smacks provided later had gluten free pizzas!!

Where do I start? The family-run team behind Lains Barn made every stage of our wedding - from our first visit to the big day - an absolute joy. We had the most perfect day. The barn is utterly beautiful, from the original stone tiled floor to the huge doors, which when open, invite the most beautiful light in. The barn already has beautiful fairy lights running the length of its ceiling - we also added some (LED-powered) candles and the result was breathtaking - perfect for our ceremony, which we had inside. It's worth noting that even our celebrant sang the praises of the Lains Barn team when we initially met - always a good sign! Then the food - totally out-of-this world! Lains are really open to customising your menu to suit, and we opted for a delicious salmon starter, braised ox cheek main and sticky toffee pudding - it was truly one of the best meals I've ever eaten (and our guests agreed). As we had everything in the barn - ceremony, lunch and party - there was a lot needing to be moved around, and the Lains team did it seamlessly. Thank you Team Lains for the most incredible day of our lives.

Martin and Barbara run a fantastic venue, of which we had the pleasure of having our daughters wedding there at the end of August 2018.The bridal party all stayed at Barton House for 2 nights. This is one of the options that Lains offer and if you can stretch the budget a little further, I would say that this is the perfect base for the bridal party to start off the celebrations with.Kate looked after all of us for the 2 days - she was amazing and the house and gardens were fabulous. Each of the nine bedrooms have en suites, the decor is beautiful and general ambiance is in keeping with this most lovely period property, with gardens and lake to boot. English breakfast was served each morning, very tasty, with tea, coffee, juices, toast etc replenished throughout the morning. We never felt rushed. There was eighteen of us for the morning after the wedding breakfast but the quality of service never wavered. Thank you Kate ;0)As for Lains Barn, we could not have asked for more with Rachel leading from the front, who organised the whole day and made it a great success. The staff were all amazing, the food was fabulous and we certainly had a wide range of food allergies, vegetarians etc but Lains accommodated all tastes and were spot on with the service of each course. The turnaround of each stage was seamless from start to finish. The venue happily accommodated our suppliers - cake, florist, musicians/band and photographers.The drinks were high street pub prices rather than hotel prices, so great value for money and plenty of choice to appease all drinkers.There is nothing that I could say that was negative about this venue.A massive thanks to Lains Barn, Martin, Barbara, Rachel, Kate and every single member of staff for making this day so special and memorable to our family and friends.The best wedding ever ;0)

El único inconveniente es la grava y la hierba, no es ideal cuando se usan tacones para una boda y algunos asientos más cómodos hubieran sido agradables, ya que estuvimos allí todo el día, de lo contrario perfecto

We have just come back from a wedding at this venue which is stunning. The only down side is it finished at midnight. The food was brilliant and the staff great. Drink a little pricey but that was expected.

We attended a wedding here in July, and it was simply perfect. What a venue! Good food and drink too.

Vinimos aquí para la boda de la hija de algunos amigos cercanos en un día frío de diciembre. En general, estas son buenas instalaciones, aunque la zona de bar y beber es bastante larga y estrecha, que puede no ser ideal para todo tipo de celebraciones especiales. La habitación principal es muy adaptable, en esta ocasión sirve como ubicación ceremonia de boda, el salón de banquetes y finalmente como una discoteca. La comida era de buena calidad y servido por un personal amable y eficiente. Sospecho que algunos pueden haber encontrado el lugar un poco fría en un clima de invierno, pero por otro lado debe ser perfecta en condiciones de verano. El aparcamiento no es grande, pero parecía adecuado.

El lugar fue fácil de encontrar y excelentemente presentado. El personal amable fue considerado y se aseguró de que todo funcionara a tiempo. Había dos personas en la fiesta que tenían necesidades dietéticas especiales, estas se hicieron sentir especiales en lugar de una molestia. Las transiciones entre ceremonia, recepción y discoteca fueron rápidas y eficientes.

Mi hijo y mi hija en ley se casó en Lains Granero. nos lo pasamos genial. El lugar es un granero convertido y está bien presentado, me pareció que el personal era muy cortés y amable. La comida era estupenda, y las bebidas a un precio razonable. Todos disfrutamos mucho de sí mismos y a todos les encantó el lugar. Yo tenía un tiempo fantástico.

This is a stunning place but after attending a friends wedding in September it became apparent the staff serioulsy lack customer service. The ladies serving the nibble bits were so sour faced and miserable its unreal!!

Yesterday we attended a wedding here and, I have to say, it was just perfect. Prior to the day, I'd actually done very little research on the venue, as I wanted it to be a surprise; and a surprise it was. Self-contained around a grass...

Attended a wedding here and all was handled very well. The venue was made ready for the service, then attendees were invited to take drinks on the lawn area while the seating was rearranged to accommodate the dinner service for the meals. The canapes were very good as were the drinks supplied during the wait. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. The only thing that let the score down slightly was the main was a little overcooked - always a challenge when serving beef to a large group. A really good venue will a lot of flexibility for a variety of events and weather.

Fantastic venue, Staff that could not have been more helpful if that had been family themselves. From the booking and pre-meetings and especially Bailey and the staff on the day. No issue to small to be resolved with no fuss. Food and service 1st class and an great quantities, Every single Guest gushed positive comments on the venue, food, staff and the whole day. Comments like one of the best weddings they have been to for years. Hog roast was divine, safe and secure for the children to run around. OUTSTANDING..........

My husband and I got married here at the end of November 2014, and we honestly could not have picked a better place. If you can afford it, it really is worth every penny, you're not just hiring out the space but Katie and her brilliant team.The space was well laid out and the team went above and beyond. Sadly my Dad was really ill (recovering from chemotherapy) and they were fantastic whilst planning the day, ensuring me and my husband had the day of our dreams at the same time as being considerate of my Dad's needs... even to the point of a special meal for him that he could eat, free of charge. They were also kind and sympathetic when we needed to bring the wedding forward due to my Dad's illness, making the planning as stress free as possible.The food is also really good, we went for the hog roast with winter vegetables and it was divine, I still get people saying to me today they remember how good the food was.

From the moment we pulled into the carpark, my, now wife and i were blown away! The level of professionalism from the very helpful staff, delicious food, a reasonably priced bar and the beauty of the barn and grounds providing a brilliant back drop to our wedding album!

Myself and my husband got married here in September 2015. Words cannot describe what an amazing venue lains barn was. From the first visit throughout the year running up to the wedding the staff could not have been any better. Attentive, friendly and professional. Putting my mind at ease all the way through. On the actual wedding day.......wow!! Everything we had planned and asked for. All the little extras we had organised and much much more were executed to perfection. The staff were all friendly well organised and felt like part of the day. The venue was gorgeous and the food was delicious. I would 100% recommend this venue to anybody who asked and so would all of my guests. Amazing place and a day we will never forget and a lot of that is because of lains barn.

We had the most amazing day and this was replicated in the feedback from our friends and family. All said it was one of the best weddings they have been to. The staff were great, nothing was a problem. Nigel and Katie were so helpful. The food was great and again had so many compliments from guests. All in all, a day to remember for us!

We got married here almost a year ago and it was a fantastic venue! The owners and organisers were so helpful and we felt completely confident that we could just relax for the whole day and they would sort everything out. The planning stage was straight forward with all details being considered. On the day itself everything ran like clockwork. The food was fantastic - people still talk about the fabulous pies we chose!Definitely recommend!!!

This is an absolutely amazing place to get married! The barn was lovely and warm for my winter wedding, and it looked magical with the lights and Christmas decorations they had up! It was the best for service, and the food was wonderful! They made my day stress free, and I would highly recommend Lains Barn to anyone!

Can not praise the staff enough from booking through to the day itself Katie & Paul made the whole process trouble free. Along with the rest of the team they were helpful and brought in to my vision of how I wanted the perfect wedding day to look. On the day the food was fantastic (hog roast) and very friendly service throughout. In terms of cost I believe you get what you pay for and I got venue that delivered past my expectations and created a memory for me my new wife that will last .

My husband and I recently held our wedding reception at Lains Barn and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. Besides the idyllic setting and unique venue, the staff were very professional, helpful and clearly experienced. It was really special to have the entire venue just be for us and our guests. We also found our photographers, Confettishots, and our DJ, Matt Fairlie (Visual Sound), through Lains Barn and were extremely happy with both. The food, provided by the Barn was delicious and the flow of events throughout the evening was perfect. Having not been prepared to hold a UK wedding, I must have viewed over 50 venues. None of which fitted the style I wanted or ticked all the boxes, until I got to Lains Barn. Not only was the venue everything I wanted (without having to dress it up) as it quite simply took my breath away, it had a resonablly priced bar which was well stocked for the diverse group of family and friends who would attend. From the moment we went to view the venue everyone we came into contct with were helpful and friendly. This is from the owners down to the bar staff on the day. When it came to food tasting the chef was more than happy to make amendments to the menue to suit my requests (although I am sure they were more demands, but he took them well). All the questions I had were answered by both Katies quickly and promtly enabling me to not feel any stress of the planning most would get. Our day was incredible and the team did everything in their power to get it to run without a hitch, even the hidden surprises I had in store for the Groom and guests. I personally would recommened the venue to anyone looking for a barn. It is exactly the type of venue you need in your life when planning a barn wedding. Friendly staff, value for money, fantastic food and incredible service. All our guests still comment nearly a year on how beautiful the venue is, how well the day ran, and how brilliant the staff were considering we had a small army attend.Our day was incredible anyway but the help and support the venue provided was next to none and made it so much more special for us. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming, polite and helpful! We absolutely loved our special day there and it was made all the more memorable for the beautiful location and barn. The food was delicious and came out exactly on time. The tables were laid out exactly how I asked them to be and the staff even took it a step further by setting up beautiful tables for the evening too. Both the 'Katies' were so friendly, fun and extremely hard working, thank you got making our wedding the best day ever!

Way to expensive. random bits of metal in a field I cut my finger on one of them. Horrifically rude staff and they made some very inappropriate comments, like swearing at me and my wife.

It's a stunning setting, delicious fresh food is prepared on site and is presented beautifully, attentive staff. If weather is good, the outside area is lovely but if it rains it’s not so good. I think more could be made of providing more cover for the bride if she arrives in the rain, very muddy, shoes and dress edge ruined. Car park and guest entrance could be improved for the same reason ladies heels don’t work with loose chippings and pools of water.That said, the staff are all extremely professional, the food was delicious, the place stunning and we did have a beautiful, memorable day,

Our daughter had her wedding reception here in August 2000. It is a very good location. All went well there. Lovely building. Kitchen a little small but ok. If weather is good outside area is nice

We got married at Lains Barn in July 2015. Essentially we wanted a barn wedding in Oxfordshire and we pretty much made our decision as soon as we visited once. It's a stunning setting and the building has been beautifully transformed into a venue that provides the perfect 'flow' for an absolutely fantastic wedding day. Though we did look at a few other barns none of them combined the elements we wanted in quite the same way.The staff are all extremely professional, the food is absolutely stunning, and we had a beautiful, memorable day, as did our guests judging by all of the comments on and since the day.The venue (and catering - they come as a package) were the biggest single cost in our budget, but I'd say the venue was also the absolute making of our day because it enabled us to create the 'feel' we were after and accommodated all of our requirements (funk band, outdoor ceremony, barbecue style food, garden games...) so beautifully. Katie and the team, we so appreciated all that you did to make our day special, thank you.And Trip Advisor members, if you're looking for a barn wedding in this area and Lains Barn is in your budget I'd wholeheartedly recommend them - you will have an absolutely brilliant day.

We are so pleased our daughter and her husband chose Lains Barn. The place was made available for inspection as often as they liked with several very constructive and helpful planning meetings so that on the day the whole event ran as smoothly as oiled silk. These guys are truly expert and experienced at managing a wedding venue. The choice of wines, spirits, beers and real ales is limitless and the food is just outstanding. You can have whatever you want and their planning and guidance is meticulous to make sure you get it. Delicious fresh food is prepared on site and is presented beautifully. Hot food is hot, cold drinks are cold. They don’t use agency staff. Staff are trained in-house and are helpful and friendly whilst being totally respectful & discreet.The management of Lains Barn are very obviously conscious and protective of their reputation and use only the very best of suppliers as we found when our daughter and her husband chose their evening entertainment. The DJ who was recommended was truly outstanding. He was totally tuned-in to the mood of the party and played exactly the right track at the right time throughout the whole evening to inspire even the most (usually) reluctant dancer to join the happy throng on the floor. It was heart-warming to see eighty-year-old granny and the teen-age grandchildren making their moves together.We cannot praise this place enough. Thank you, team. Truly a day to remember.

My daughter and now son in law held their wedding here 1st May. Everything was done to perfection, down to arriving until the last of the guests left. The staff were truely professional and disgreet. We had the pie master dinner which was excellant, then hog roast, disco and band, in all was a truely simply stunning day. Welldone Lains Barn 5 stars is not enough.

Lains Barn is the most fantastic wedding venue- the barn itself is beautiful, and the staff are absolutely wonderful. We had three months to organise our wedding and the two Katies who work there were absolutely amazing- really quick to respond to queries and so accommodating. They really took all the stress out of the organisation!On the day, everyone was so helpful and friendly. The changeover from ceremony to breakfast and then again to the reception were seamless. The food was fantastic- from the canapés, to the wedding breakfast to the evening cheese buffet. We had the Piemaster menu where one guest per table is given a chef’s hat and apron and serves, which added a bit of theatre and got every chatting. Several of our guests said it was the best food they’d had at a wedding and the team were very accommodating to special diets (individual pies for vegetarians and coeliacs). They even got in Cornish clotted cream to serve with the desert in a nod to my husband’s Cornish roots!All our guests were so complimentary about the venue, the staff and the day in general- we wouldn’t change a single thing!

We had our daughter's and son-in-laws wedding at Lains Barn and also used the nearby Barton House, which is run by the same team. There were 150 guests in the day, which increased to 200 for the evening party. Quite simply it was a wonderful day much of which was down to the lovely venue and the hard working staff. With the help of the team we were able to add some personal touches to the barn, which helped make the day extra special as well as being good fun. The civil ceremony at the barn worked really well. The food and service for the drinks reception and wedding breakfast were excellent. The bar also worked really well manned by friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble and we were guided through the whole day. We have no hesitation in highly recommending both Lains Barn and Barton House for whatever function you have in mind.

Our son's wedding reception at Lains Barn was a really memorable and beautifully-managed event. As major contributors to the wedding fund and as locals my wife and I were very, very impressed by Lains Barn and all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with real attention to detail.We have had many friends saying very complimentary things about the wedding, the venue and the food. Lains Barn has the ideal layout and facilities so even in wet weather it's delightful. The three areas work brilliantly and with Barton House too it must be hard to beat. The staff were very low key and worked really well to make the whole day very memorable. Our daughter gets married in just 6 weeks time, and your act will be a hard one to follow. Knowing how much was spent on this wedding and knowing the plans for the forthcoming 'Home Marquee Wedding' we feel we got very good value for money at Lains Barn.

We went to Lains. Barn for a wedding event. The venue is very nice and the buffet food was top notch. Bar staff were friendly and we had a great night. If you are out of town and go to an event here then pre book your taxi in the afternoon as only 2 taxi companies in the area and it's a very long wait.
