The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving British food

This is fairly local to us and we decided to have an early evening birthday dinner. Even at 6 on a Monday it was pleasantly busy creating a nice atmosphere. Service was prompt and friendly and there was a good range of real ales on offer including 3 kegs of guest beers. Food choice was exceptional to the point of making it hard to decide which of several options to choose. When it arrived the food was extremely good and well presented. All in all a very good experience.

Seriously good fish n chips. Generous amount of fish and really crispy fresh batter. Fortunately was walking so could burn some of it off. Interesting menu will try a curry next time. Friendly staff.

We only had dinner here - not staying though. Friendly, good service, delicious food and great atmosphere . We felt completely at home and definitely recommend !!

Fantastic place. Lovely room. Smart luxury decor. Loved the choice of tea and coffee with a nice addition of macaroons. Would stay here again attentive staff. Lovely food, plenty of choice off the breakfast menu.

Popped in on a Sunday afternoon for a family lunch with kids. I ordered Lamb Rump and it was delicious. Kids enjoyed their chicken nuggets and macaroni cheese, whilst my wife had an excellent steak and ale pie. Great service, family friendly atmosphere and fantastic value for money. We will go back.

I’ve been hoping to visit Tony’s as an ex Pat to Sheffield so got the opportunity today It’s easy to find and there’s parking around but it’s takeaway only I had the cod chips and peas About £10 The cod was a generous portion of freshly cooked white flakey cod in a crisp brown batter Chips were fresh and cooked beautifully Peas were well coloured😂 but tasted fine, great consistency Excellent service Friendly as you’d expect up north What a great plaice😂👍🐟

Stumbled across here after our table elsewhere wasn’t ready way after we’d booked and it was exactly what we were looking for. Cosy with a table next to the fire, we had a lovely roast and a burger. Service was friendly too. Made even better with a dog next to our table :)

We were staying locally and came here for dinner. Food was excellent and a good selection of options. Both had starters - Chicken satay and jerk prawns. For main we had pork belly and monk fish with Pak Choi and a creamy coconut sauce. Really nice flavours and decent portions- too stuffed to look at dessert menus. Service was good and felt looked after. A little on the pricey side (£77 for 2 with an alcoholic drink each) but not too bad, especially for the quality and portions.

Best cafe in Ashford. Girls in there are all so welcoming and friendly. So clean and tidy! Great place to take the kids too! 10/10 will definitely be returning

We stayed at Wood Hall Hotel for 2 nights,to celebrate my husband birthday is our second visit to this beautiful hotel and we always have enjoyed, just want to say a big thank you to all the team but...a special thank you to Will in the bar Max , Fernanda and Ellis in reception We will visit again 👌😊

My first visit was very good but I thought there was a lack of choice with the vegetarian options. I looked at the online sample menus recently and there was only 1 veggie starter and main offered. The Boar didn't respond to any of my emails asking if there were more choices as the sample menus may have been out of date. If they can't be bothered to respond then that's really disappointing for someone who would quite happily have booked regularly.

Great independent coffee shop. Busy but friendly service. Nice outdoor seating as well with rugs for when it's a bit chilly! Love it!
