£15 Sunday roast deal. Best cut of beef I've ever had. Everything tasted incredible. Service top rate as always. Highly recommended.

Fabulous little restaurant at first floor level with a wonderful terrace overlooking the Solent. Food especially the seafood is truly delicious. Staff are very nice and helpful. Couldn't recommend enough. Though n.b. it's just by the ferry dock so every hour or so there's a little bit of noise when the ferry loads/unloads. Just a heads up the steps up to it are a little steep (though good handrails) and the WCs are similarly down a staircase to the ground floor internally.

I have been to this restaurant twice now in the last few days. I have tried quite a few restaurants on the IOW. I have a boat in Lymington Haven so been to many places on the island. This is simply the best restaurant I have found here. The food is excellent and the flavours are very well done. Min salt and prepared with the best ingredients. Service is first class I have tried the well known restaurant in Colwell bay. The terrace is just way better Give it a try if you can get in!

The best plates of food in Yarmouth and probably the island. We felt properly looked after by all the staff right down to the small details and it comes with a great view of the sunset and harbour. It’s on the windward side of town so do bring a few layers if you want to enjoy the sunset outside when there’s a breeze. I’d especially recommend the crab and polenta chips starter.

A lovely restaurant & the food is fabulous. But Phoebe is the real jewel in this crown, perfect service and an absolute delight. Thank you.

We had a reservation and arrived earlier than anticipated. Unfortunately we were not allowed to order until our reservation time and we were not allowed to pick our table when many seemed empty (but claimed to be reserved). We ordered steak well done and it came really really tough. However the peppercorn sauce and fondant potato were lovely. The bread pudding and ice creams were incredible. Lots of attention and care clearly went into the preparation of this dessert. The coffee was bitter even with multiple sugars. The sparkling water was pretty flat and the focaccia and butter were really tasteless. Our server Phoebe was so attentive and brought us blankets as we sat outside and she was friendly and smiley. The reason I am giving 3 stars for service is because the previous two employees who sat us down were not very friendly and accommodating. But Phoebe was great! Would I recommend this place to others? If you have the chance I would say go for pudding and a canned/bottled drink. The views are lovely and it is close to the ferry - but no need to go out of your way to try here - apart from the bread pudding!

Amazing service and great food We can't recommend them enough. The best service we have had on the Isle of Wight or anywhere else we have been. It was our anniversary and they went out of their way to make sure it was amazing. I highly recommend them if you're looking for good food and amazing service 20 out of 10 definitely.

Such a lovely location, great seating outside and inside, however really poor service and questionable food. A couple of our party was running late, which we informed the staff, however they went on to ask us several more times, when they would be here (we was ordering drinks 🍷 and it was not busy). When they arrived, we were seated on two separate tables, which could have easily been put together. After rushing us to be seated, then took a while to take our food order (so what was the rush). I had the cod, it was lovely (have this if you go, nothing else), a few friends had the rump steak which was chewy and not edible, a couple of friends couldn’t eat it and one exchanged it for a chicken dish. Rump steak should never be chewy and to be told it always is and dismissed was unacceptable….source better quality steaks! Also, i really don’t know how my friends ate the cauliflower dish, it looked like a burnt lump of charcoal but we were all hungry by this point. Again, staff took a long time to come take our dessert order (even less busy at the point), then they proceeded to bring us the bill even though we hadn’t had the pudding yet! Rushed, not bothered, rushed, not bothered….make up your mind! Nice touch that they brought out 2 birthday ladies a Birthday plate with a small chocolate pudding on, would have been better before bringing puddings out (just a suggestion)! Please Check your bill… steaks were priced wrongly and we were charged more than what it stated on the menu, drinks added to the bill which we definitely didn’t have (a group of ladies aren’t Ale drinkers) and madness to the point, the member of staff had to refund us money. Overall experience was very poor and disappointing. Such a shame for such a beautiful location!

Couldn’t relax with waitresses nagging us if we are ready ! Food was disgusting ! Very sloppy and tasteless , price was extreme for poor portion , then before we had our pudding was sent a bill and the bill was incorrect over charged . Need new staff ! Too young and chefs clearly rushing them to go home we all spent a lot of money to enjoy an evening . New staff new food and less money !

Lovely location and views, shame about the food and service though. Was with a party of 15 friends to celebrate two birthdays. We started with drinks outside which was nice, was then asked a few times if we wanted to order food even though we said we were waiting for the rest of our party to join us. We started to feel rushed even though the place was not busy. Once sat inside it took a while for food to come, once it had turned up it was not great. I ordered the rump steak so did a few others on my table, it was so chewy and gristly. When we told the waitress she asked if we wanted the steaks replaced. She then came back saying the chief said that rump steak is meant to be chewy. One of us did choose another dish and was asked if they wanted a side while it was cooking. At the end if the meal when the bill came the steaks where priced wrong and there was no discount offered on our steaks. There was also extra drinks added to our bill which nobody had. Very disappointing experience the only thing that was good about the experience was the people I went with.

Wow, what a superb place to eat. We visited twice, had lunch and on another day the evening meal. The location is marvelous overlooking the harbour and Marina. The ferries arrive but far enough to the right so as not to spoil the view. The food is exeptional. I cannot praise it enough. Presentation is excellent and the taste delectable.. The service is also first class. You are made to feel very welcome and are never left wanting or waiting. A number of staff looked after us and the standard never slipped, all were operating to the highest standard. A special mention of Phoebe who looked after us equally well with added humour.

I popped in for a quick drink while waiting for my ferry. The staff were really friendly, and it was lovely to have an iced coffee in the sun with a lovely view of the sea and ferries.

Very upset that the Skate smelled of ammonia and the chef had overcooked it to disguise it was unedible but should not have served it in the first instance! Husband ate his meal alone and waited 25 minutes to get my replacement. Ruined my day in Yarmouth

The service was first rate. We ordered skate and soft drinks . We were promptly served. The food was beautifully presented, nouvelle cuisine style , BUT the second to last bite the skate was undercooked . It was served with a small piped rosette of mashed potato on a bed of double cream sauce . It was 90% powdered potato .

What a lovely find. We were early for the ferry and didn’t want to wait in the terminal, but the terrace is right above. Charming staff who were also very helpful Good views,very clean and lovely vibe. The only shame was there was no breakfast on offer when we got there, but the tea was good and the banana bread divine.

Definitely recommend this place. Food was soooo tasty; really nice touches to all the dishes we had. I had the crab starter and the plaice for the main course; every dish was full of flavours. Great wine selection and local ales as well. Phoebe was a great server; really enthusiastic about the establishment and the food. 10/10 all round!!

On the plus side, Phoebe was great and attentive, and having coffee outside watching the sunset was great. Ambience in restaurant itself was average, felt more like a coffee shop. But the real let down was the food, this was not Michelin quality. Maybe it was an off day and I chose the wrong dish .. I went for the skate, it was dry and the rice ball was visibly burnt and low and behold tasted burnt and dry. Think there was supposed to be some sauce but could barely find any to offset the skate and rice being so dry. I cant help but notice that the management like to slam those leaving less than perfect reviews instead of taking onboard the feedback .. one thing I will say to this is that they may need to look at the number of low reviews in May24, and maybe accept something may be going less well lately.

We have been here several times, as have our friends who were with us. The lunch menu looked good, no fish and chips ( they were terrific but have gone from the menu). We decided on the set menu, no choice but good value. First course cod fish cakes - good. Main - chicken and mushroom risotto - rice tepid, reasonable flavour, chicken pieces on top which wasn’t what I was expecting. The dessert - chocolate brownie and ice cream - delicious. I had a dessert from the main menu which sounded delicious but was average. Rum Baba with pineapple and a flavoured cream. The cream was good, the baba was just a cake cut in half ( not soaked in syrup as it should be) . The waitress poured some rum over it which sort of helped. The presentation was awful, pale sponge with a dollop of white cream. Really not what we expected from a restaurant that has always been good on previous visits. The staff were lovely, it felt has though they had just started but they were doing well Interestingly when I asked for Angostura bitters no one had ever heard of them.

Another amazing lunch here. Phoebe looked after us so well and made us wonder why we had not been back sooner. The cod was perfectly cooked and the veg options stunning too. Our view was stunning and in the distance we could hear the sea shanty festival in full swing. We will be back soon!!

We visited The Terrace for dinner last night after a family member’s recommendation and it did not disappoint! The staff were friendly and welcoming, we immediately felt we had made the right choice for dinner! We had 3 courses each (plus a decorated birthday plate which was a lovely and special surprise) and each dish was faultless. Staff were incredibly attentive and chatty which added a lovely touch to the meal. The views from the outdoor seating area are stunning and we were able to watch the sunset too. Even in the event of a power cut at the end of the evening, staff were organised and had lamps on every table in a matter of seconds! We will be sure to visit again soon, thank you for making the evening so special.

We all had such a lovely evening at The Terrace. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. One person in our group is a coeliac and they catered beautifully to her dietary requirements. We decided to sit outside even though it was overcast and likely to rain. The staff kindly put up our umbrella and brought out blankets so we continue to sit outside. We did eventually move inside where there then was a blackout, the staff were quick to bring in lights from the outside and keep spirits high. Absolutely outstanding service and food. Thank you so much to everyone at The Terrace!!

We came to The Terrace after having been recommended by a local. The food and presentation of it was great but the service was slow. We had to wait awhile for our main course but it was worth the wait. A shame that we had to ask for the dessert menu after having waited for a long time. The waitress that we requested the menu from didn't seem to know that we were dining on the terrace. We then chose our dessert and as no one showed up to take an order, we once again went back in to place the order for the dessert as we didn't want to wait much longer. Once we finished eating we promptly went in to pay in case we had another wait to bear. Sadly for that reason we wouldn't come back.

We visited on a glorious sunny day for a birthday lunch We couldn't fault anything: delicious food - scallop and cod chowder, perfectly cooked steak, excellent sea bass. Followed by Panna Cotta with strawberry. Two pleasant glasses of house wine. Sitting outside on the terrace was lovely, the ambience just right and service exceptional: attentive, prompt, precise but not overbearing. Overall a great experience which I hope to repeat.

My wife and I visit The Terrace several times a year and are never disappointed. When weather permits it is glorious to sit out on the terrace and watch the world go by from its elevated position. The Terrace is our first choice when it comes to dining out on the island. In particular, we thoroughly enjoyed the scallop and mussel chowder for both flavour and texture. We have had it before and hope that it remains a regular on the menu - I could easily consume a double order as a main course! I understand from our waitress that it is the inspiration of the kitchen team - so well done. Service is always smooth and even with a full house as there was when we had lunch, we never have to wait long. The staff constantly engage with customers and the atmosphere is informal. Keep doing what you are doing as it is certainly appreciated by us.

Went to The terrace for drinks and was able to see the food offered. Lovely aspect overlooking the water, Phoebe the waitress was so lovely and made the visit even more enjoyable. Very clean, great drinks and will come back.

What an absolutely fantastic evening my friends and I had at the Terrace. The food was incredible and a taste sensation and the service was fantastic. I was also particularly impressed with the lovely girl taking our orders who starts her A levels next week - best of luck to her! We were all so impressed, thank you to all the team at The Terrace.

Welcoming and friendly. Cheerful and helpful. My asparagus was cooked well and was fresh and tasty. My cod was cooked beautifully.

A wonderful setting with fantastic food. We visited today for a family lunch and were so impressed with the restaurant location, ambience and decor, and with the first class service from the whole team. The girls were friendly and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble. At no point did we feel rushed or that there was pressure to “get the table back” … a leisurely meal was enjoyed! The food was faultless in both presentation and taste … we will definitely be back!

Sunday lunch in one of the pods (which are there until the end of April). The roast lunch was excellent and we also enjoyed the sticky toffee sponge and rhubarb crumble.

We regularly come to this lovely restaurant for dinner and the event nights but decided to come for the crazy priced Winter Sale fixed price lunch menu for £10, we were not disappointed and enjoyed a super two course lunch with The Terrace signature focaccia...

The cod had a bone in it, the venison was hard and chewy, the risotto was an undercooked mash of rice with little flavour, the portions are extremely tiny and overall the only edible thing was the kids cod and chips....and the location being nice. v disappointed, especially considering the price.

Booked for a birthday. Anita was so helpful with plans beforehand. We all really enjoyed dinner - both the food and service were excellent! We all commented that the food was some of the best we’ve had dining out! Would highly recommend!

We came to this restaurant on Valentine’s Day for an evening meal, I believe we were served by a lady named phoebe . She was very attentive and welcoming . The food came out so fast and was absolutely amazing I highly recommend the steak with truffle mash I couldn’t fault the food. Will 100% be dining there again

This is an excellent place to eat and drink! The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating to myself and my family. We enjoyed some wonderful cocktails and great food from the Valentines Day Set Menu. The owner managed to squeeze us in for a late booking despite being fully booked, and we enjoyed our meal in one of the greenhouse “pods” on the terrace. Coming from London, the food was of a high standard for an excellent price. We will definitely be returning. 100% recommend! Xx

Dined in a pod with friends on a sunny Saturday afternoon to celebrate a special birthday. As ever, the food was excellent and the service outstanding. Moreover, the prices are reasonable particularly given the quality on offer. Well done to the team at the Terrace!

We nipped in for a quick morning coffee for convenience. The staff are so lovely, engaging us in polite but interesting conversation. She suggested lunch, but we’d booked elsewhere, so declined, but the menu looks fabulous. We’ll be back for lunch one day.

Whether you are a visitor or local, you can’t fail to enjoy great food, wine and service whilst overlooking Yarmouth’s busy harbour.

Visited again this year, not so good unfortunately. The manager had given our "pod" that we had booked 3 months prior, to someone else (we only go here to sit out in one of the pods and watch the ships coming in and going out). After a bit of hassle, he miraculously managed to make one available. It took the shine off a little. Things were made much better by the lady (Phoebe) who looked after us, she was great and is a credit to the place. Liked the place, food was good, used one of the pods outside, that was really good. People were nice, very clean and neat inside.

We stopped in here for a drink while we waited for our ferry and were enjoying ourselves so much that we missed it, despite being so close to it that we could virtually reach out and touch it! 😂 I saw another review where someone else said the same thing so it's clearly a known hazard haha. We were lucky enough to nab one of the lovely glass shelters on the terrace, it was a chilly November afternoon so we closed the windows and put the heater on and we enjoyed the views from the comfort and warmth of our little pod. The friendly waiter recommended a can of Wight Knuckle faux lager which was absolutely delicious. It's brewed in the islands own micro brewery and we'd highly recommend it, and this lovely pub. Just be careful not to miss your ferry, you need to be on it at least 5 minutes before it sets off, then again there are worse places to be stranded for an extra couple of hours!

The Terrace is a great place for any occasion. Sit outside in the clear pods and enjoy the life of the harbour. Or go inside and enjoy the view , but wherever you sit, you will have a lovely meal, with attentive friendly staff. You can even see the chef and the team. The Menu has about six starters, six Mains, and six desserts. All are made to perfection, and it's difficult to choose. All dishes are reasonably priced, The menu will suit most dietary requirements. Enjoy your meal.

This was such a brilliant place to eat! The food was gorgeous + so fresh, it has a lovely atmosphere, and the service was amazing! Our server was called Phoebe, and she was so engaging and positive - she really made the experience! Great spot to eat :)

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch of confit belly pork and scallops to start -  amazing. Sea bass as a main with crab crushed new potatoes scrummy. Blackberry & Apple Frangipane tart -  yum yum and Spiced Apple & Ginger Trifle "which was one of the best trifles we have ever tried"  for desserts with some cheeky Negronis, Thank you Charlotte for your wonderful service. Food was amazing. We forgot to take photos. Thank you, everyone.

What a wonderful restaurant lovely view, fantastic food. We did book ahead and we were seated in one of the pods which is so cosy and comfortable watching the ferry come in, very friendly staff tremendous food, looking forward to our next visit.

Superb food and great service with views over Yarmouth Harbour and the sea. We cam over by boat from Southampton and were dropped at the harbour - the restaurant is just a stones throw away. Will be coming back again!

If you book here and the weather is fine try for a table outside. We had booked a late lunch inside as nothing was available but the excellent host offered us an outside table as soon as one became available. Food quality and wine choices...

A superb sea food salad, exceptional staff and a beautiful location. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The food was delicious...but let's face it, for all its up-market pretentions, it's a bistro overlooking the ferry ramp. Service was poor: I had to attract the waitress's attention (too busy talking to the chef) to ask for a table. We then waited, for what seemed an eternity, for any kind of table service and finally a young waitress told us in the most supercilious and patronising manner that she'd be with us "in a minute". We only stayed because my wife stopped me walking out. To add insult to injury I overheard the fawning and overenthusiastic young man conducting table service remark to people he assumed were wealthier than me and my wife "I can get anything if the tip is big enough"! Oh really! I might not be a 'yachty'..but I own a Rolls Royce.... we all know the consequence of assumptions! He needs a lesson in appropriate conduct...and treating everyone equally . No tip. All in all we were unimpressed. significant improvement required!

Amazing view over the port next to the castle. Food was great too, especially the mussels! Service could be better, specifically with cleaning the tables and bird poo off the chairs.

Just had lunch at the Terrace today with some good friends. We were booked on a table outside on the terrace as we have a dog. I, was phoned by the restaurant yesterday and asked if we would be happy to move to a table indoors as the weather was looking as though it might be raining. I reminded them that we would have our dog with us, but they said, if the dog was well behaved we could bring him indoors too. So we had a table in the restaurant, the weather today did turn out to be rather thundery, and wet. We arrived and were shown to the table and were offered water for our dog. The menu was really good with a great selection of seafood, meat and vegetarian and vegan options. My wife and I chose scallops for a starter, which were delicious, our friends had pâté and crispy Cauliflower fritters. We all also chose different main courses, Pork steak with black pudding on a bed of parsley mash for me, sea bass with smashed new potatoes with crab meat for my wife, baked cod and a mushroom and truffle risotto for our friends. We all enjoyed our food, which was beautifully presented. The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. Too full for a desert we all had coffee to finish. The bill when it came was very reasonable. We will definitely go back again.

An excellent welcome for a special occasion. Celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary with the family so had to book a table for 11! Despite the size, all staff very attentive with Sophie giving us a wonderful experience.

Nine of us had an outstanding lunch at The Terrace. The staff are exceptional and managed our quite large party despite having to movie us inside and outside again as the rain fell! The starters are really tasty and good value. And what a location!

We’ve been coming to Yarmouth for years. The Terrace is new to us and what a good find it is! Wonderful staff, all cheerful and welcoming - great menu and a fabulous experience. Moules well-judged and steak just perfect. There’s an interestingly boaty view too, but it’s not the only good thing to enjoy! We’ll be back.

I ordered pâté as a light lunch.. which was lovely.. but one slither of toast for £10.00.. I asked for more and received 2 at the cost of £1.00 each.. costing £12.00 for pate & toast.. surprised they charge extra for something that should already...
