Great service and the best bacon sandwiches EVER! 30/3/24 - nothing changed still great.

The cod had a bone in it, the venison was hard and chewy, the risotto was an undercooked mash of rice with little flavour, the portions are extremely tiny and overall the only edible thing was the kids cod and chips....and the location being nice. v disappointed, especially considering the price.

Booked for a birthday. Anita was so helpful with plans beforehand. We all really enjoyed dinner - both the food and service were excellent! We all commented that the food was some of the best we’ve had dining out! Would highly recommend!

We had lunch for a special occasion and the staff were brilliant. Very helpful and attentive but not intrusive. They have a knack of making you feel really welcome and special. The food and wine was superb. Its a great venue for a meal or drinks and has a great view of the harbour. We like to watch the boats coming and going as it adds interest to the already great ambiance. I also like the way that despite being excellent and well deserving of a tip. The Terrace doesn't have that tip amount box on the card machine that almost insists on one like some other venues on the island. We gave one anyway because the staff could not have done anything more to make our day special. Very highly recommended.

A beautiful restaurant with lovely views, friendly and helpful staff, great deals of £10 for two courses and delicious food. Thank you Anita for going our of your way to accommodate me with my dietary requirements.

This is an excellent place to eat and drink! The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating to myself and my family. We enjoyed some wonderful cocktails and great food from the Valentines Day Set Menu. The owner managed to squeeze us in for a late booking despite being fully booked, and we enjoyed our meal in one of the greenhouse “pods” on the terrace. Coming from London, the food was of a high standard for an excellent price. We will definitely be returning. 100% recommend! Xx

We came to this restaurant on Valentine’s Day for an evening meal, I believe we were served by a lady named phoebe . She was very attentive and welcoming . The food came out so fast and was absolutely amazing I highly recommend the steak with truffle mash I couldn’t fault the food. Will 100% be dining there again

Lovely waiting staff, very kind food great price sensible slightly dismissive management at the end with a ''thank you, good bye'' receiving a cursory and dismissive nod. Not aligned with lovely junior staff. staff working really hard, 6 stars, management overseeing an extremely quiet night , 3 stars. so four overall. hope thats fair.

Dined in a pod with friends on a sunny Saturday afternoon to celebrate a special birthday. As ever, the food was excellent and the service outstanding. Moreover, the prices are reasonable particularly given the quality on offer. Well done to the team at the Terrace!

I had an evening meal with my family at The Terrace. Venue is lovely as are the staff. I was a little disappointed with the menu. If you are booking a table because you like what’s on the menu on their website be warned that the menu changes daily and the vegetarian choice on the festive menu was very limited. When asked if this was the only menu available I was told yes, however, a table of 6 people, who I can only assume were regulars were offered an alternative menu when they asked if there was a different menu available.

Despite the freezing temperatures we still decided to dine inside one of the pods well worth it attention to detail in keeping us warm fabulous food & service throughout

Supper last night at The Terrace was delightful. Pre-dinner cocktails with yummy focaccia in the pod watching the boats was very exciting. We then went into the restaurant for our meal which was of a very high quality and beautifully presented. The steak was so tasty & tender & the herb crusted cod with mussels perfectly cooked. Oh, don’t miss out on the puddings, they were to die for! Staff were so polite, helpful & friendly, and we loved the clean lines & stylish decor in the restaurant. Price was good too.

We nipped in for a quick morning coffee for convenience. The staff are so lovely, engaging us in polite but interesting conversation. She suggested lunch, but we’d booked elsewhere, so declined, but the menu looks fabulous. We’ll be back for lunch one day.

Whether you are a visitor or local, you can’t fail to enjoy great food, wine and service whilst overlooking Yarmouth’s busy harbour.

Visited again this year, not so good unfortunately. The manager had given our "pod" that we had booked 3 months prior, to someone else (we only go here to sit out in one of the pods and watch the ships coming in and going out). After a bit of hassle, he miraculously managed to make one available. It took the shine off a little. Things were made much better by the lady (Phoebe) who looked after us, she was great and is a credit to the place. Liked the place, food was good, used one of the pods outside, that was really good. People were nice, very clean and neat inside.

We stopped in here for a drink while we waited for our ferry and were enjoying ourselves so much that we missed it, despite being so close to it that we could virtually reach out and touch it! 😂 I saw another review where someone else said the same thing so it's clearly a known hazard haha. We were lucky enough to nab one of the lovely glass shelters on the terrace, it was a chilly November afternoon so we closed the windows and put the heater on and we enjoyed the views from the comfort and warmth of our little pod. The friendly waiter recommended a can of Wight Knuckle faux lager which was absolutely delicious. It's brewed in the islands own micro brewery and we'd highly recommend it, and this lovely pub. Just be careful not to miss your ferry, you need to be on it at least 5 minutes before it sets off, then again there are worse places to be stranded for an extra couple of hours!

The Terrace is a great place for any occasion. Sit outside in the clear pods and enjoy the life of the harbour. Or go inside and enjoy the view , but wherever you sit, you will have a lovely meal, with attentive friendly staff. You can even see the chef and the team. The Menu has about six starters, six Mains, and six desserts. All are made to perfection, and it's difficult to choose. All dishes are reasonably priced, The menu will suit most dietary requirements. Enjoy your meal.

This was such a brilliant place to eat! The food was gorgeous + so fresh, it has a lovely atmosphere, and the service was amazing! Our server was called Phoebe, and she was so engaging and positive - she really made the experience! Great spot to eat :)

We recently finished our weekend stay on the island with lunch at this spectacular restaurant We were lucky enough to sit in one of the glass pods on the terrace which was very comfortably furnished Our waitress Anita was so friendly & efficient nothing was too much bother for her The food was stunning,delicious,well presented and large portions.Great value for money! We could easily have stayed there all day. The position next to the ferry terminal looking out to sea means there was always something to see. We will definitely be going back and strongly recommend to others J&L Bournemouth

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch of confit belly pork and scallops to start -  amazing. Sea bass as a main with crab crushed new potatoes scrummy. Blackberry & Apple Frangipane tart -  yum yum and Spiced Apple & Ginger Trifle "which was one of the best trifles we have ever tried"  for desserts with some cheeky Negronis, Thank you Charlotte for your wonderful service. Food was amazing. We forgot to take photos. Thank you, everyone.

What a wonderful restaurant lovely view, fantastic food. We did book ahead and we were seated in one of the pods which is so cosy and comfortable watching the ferry come in, very friendly staff tremendous food, looking forward to our next visit.

Superb food and great service with views over Yarmouth Harbour and the sea. We cam over by boat from Southampton and were dropped at the harbour - the restaurant is just a stones throw away. Will be coming back again!

Great seafood selection with the freshest ingredients. Everything was so delicious. Staff was helpful. There are quite a few steps at the entrance.

What a great place to eat, possibly the best food on the IOW during our stay

If you book here and the weather is fine try for a table outside. We had booked a late lunch inside as nothing was available but the excellent host offered us an outside table as soon as one became available. Food quality and wine choices...

A superb sea food salad, exceptional staff and a beautiful location. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The food was delicious...but let's face it, for all its up-market pretentions, it's a bistro overlooking the ferry ramp. Service was poor: I had to attract the waitress's attention (too busy talking to the chef) to ask for a table. We then waited, for what seemed an eternity, for any kind of table service and finally a young waitress told us in the most supercilious and patronising manner that she'd be with us "in a minute". We only stayed because my wife stopped me walking out. To add insult to injury I overheard the fawning and overenthusiastic young man conducting table service remark to people he assumed were wealthier than me and my wife "I can get anything if the tip is big enough"! Oh really! I might not be a 'yachty'..but I own a Rolls Royce.... we all know the consequence of assumptions! He needs a lesson in appropriate conduct...and treating everyone equally . No tip. All in all we were unimpressed. significant improvement required!

Amazing view over the port next to the castle. Food was great too, especially the mussels! Service could be better, specifically with cleaning the tables and bird poo off the chairs.

Just had lunch at the Terrace today with some good friends. We were booked on a table outside on the terrace as we have a dog. I, was phoned by the restaurant yesterday and asked if we would be happy to move to a table indoors as the weather was looking as though it might be raining. I reminded them that we would have our dog with us, but they said, if the dog was well behaved we could bring him indoors too. So we had a table in the restaurant, the weather today did turn out to be rather thundery, and wet. We arrived and were shown to the table and were offered water for our dog. The menu was really good with a great selection of seafood, meat and vegetarian and vegan options. My wife and I chose scallops for a starter, which were delicious, our friends had pâté and crispy Cauliflower fritters. We all also chose different main courses, Pork steak with black pudding on a bed of parsley mash for me, sea bass with smashed new potatoes with crab meat for my wife, baked cod and a mushroom and truffle risotto for our friends. We all enjoyed our food, which was beautifully presented. The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. Too full for a desert we all had coffee to finish. The bill when it came was very reasonable. We will definitely go back again.

An excellent welcome for a special occasion. Celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary with the family so had to book a table for 11! Despite the size, all staff very attentive with Sophie giving us a wonderful experience.

Great food and staff. Not much ambience inside and if there are only two of you dining your not allowed to sit in a pod.........even if you are spending between 4 and 500 pounds.

Nine of us had an outstanding lunch at The Terrace. The staff are exceptional and managed our quite large party despite having to movie us inside and outside again as the rain fell! The starters are really tasty and good value. And what a location!

We’ve been coming to Yarmouth for years. The Terrace is new to us and what a good find it is! Wonderful staff, all cheerful and welcoming - great menu and a fabulous experience. Amazing spot & enjoyed our meal but the food wasn’t as good as we expected. The terrace overlooks Yarmouth harbour, with views of the Solent which are absolutely stunning at sunset. To eat, had cured salmon with beetroot & horseradish cream to start - this was outstanding & the best dish of the evening. Monkfish in a lobster bisque with crab croquettes was good, nothing special. Dessert - rhubarb creme brûlée - similar. Good service. Would definitely still recommend

Tom the manager and Phoebe were absolutely amazing. The whole atmosphere was incredible the menu was varied and tasted fantastic. This is a superb restaurant l. Our experience from the first telephone call to book through to welcome on arrival service and excellent fish and vegetarian dishes. The views over the Solent are amazing and the do quality alcohol free beers (good for the Skipper)

Hardly any vegetarian options. I ordered falafels. There were 3 in the plate. Raw from inside. The waiter replaced the dish when I showed him that the falafel were undercooked. He got another plate which was undercooked as well. I asked for the dish to be replaced with a beetroot, walnut and feta salad. The salad was bad too. Could hardly find any beetroot, the walnuts were stale, bitter and had gone off. There was too many salad leaves. When I gave feedback to the manager, he refused to believe me and was not willing to taste the salad. He was very arrogant and did not take my feedback positively nor was he apologetic. Very very bad experience. Cannot recommend this restaurant.

One of our favourite stops in Yarmouth, really good food at a realistic price, great friendly service and a lovely location. We have eaten lunch and dinner here over the past year and it has always delivered. The menu varies by season and availability. Definitely recommend if you're in Yarmouth and it's walking distance from the visitor pontoons in the harbour!

Had the most amazing 30th birthday/ wedding Anniversary meal. We were treated so well. Bottle of prosecco waiting and a lovely plate of brownies to finish to celebrate. 10/10 for service and food. Will definitely go again. Thank you.
