I’m really sorry to have to make a public complaint but I sent an email and got no reply. The reason I give it one star despite an overall good price/quality ratio is to highlight this issue and warn other tourists. I dined at this establishment on Saturday September 7, paying at 6.18pm a $98 bill. I added $20 tip in cash and I misunderstood what I had to fill in the receipt, adding a $20 tip as gratuity for a total $118. A staffer working there told me I made a mistake because I was effectively tipping twice, and that she’d strike out the $20 from the receipt so I wouldn’t get charged the tip twice. She told me that she’d do it because they’re honest and that other establishments wouldn’t be that honest. She could have returned the cash but didn’t and also didn’t give me a receipt, but I trusted her word. Yet more than 24 hours later, on Sunday September 8, I got a notification after 9pm saying the amount charged had changed to $118. It’s not fair to make that change more than 24 after the initial charge, as I don’t have the option to return to the diner so all I can do is to email and to ask here to do the right thing and reverse the charge back to $98.

We enjoyed breakfast on a lovely 80 degree day on the sidewalk covered patio sept 2024. Longtime friends for a visit and ambiance was relaxing. Omelets & yogurt with berries & walnuts. The service was excellent.

This café offers something a little different. I can't say it's "off the beaten track" as it's right next to the main road, but if you drive past you're missing something truly fun. A converted double-decker bus (kitchen downstairs, seating upstairs) also has ground level seating outside, both in- and outdoors. The menu included some gluten free options, which is still something harder to find and meant my wife didn't have to go without. A nice choice of cakes and sandwiches/toasties/paninis meant there was something for all of us to enjoy and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Will definitely visit again - and it's worth exploring the nearby market tunnel and shops too (and peering at the unexpected ex-Island Line Underground train!)

Friendly staff. Unfortunately a 30 min wait just for some milkshakes and a few cups of tea/ coffee etc. Poor service but good drinks. Could be more organised seeing as there were enough staff to accommodate the small amount of customers

Great food, even better people!

Extremely rude customer service! We ordered a mocha latte and got a macchiato instead! Waitress insisted she heard macchiato! A shot with foam instead of a latte! The carrot cake is the only reason for the twp stars! The table outside was broken and shaking the whole time.. Not worth the experience! 😖

This place was a dream! I went on a quiet morning after a stroll on the west side highway. This charming cafe was the perfect place to stop by, the staff was personable and attentive and the food was delicious.

The Bus Stop is a West Village treasure. Try to grab a booth seat by the window for prime people-watching—you’ll get a front-row view of the many designer dogs. This spot has a wholehearted energy that makes it perfect for a relaxed brunch. Plus, where else in the West Village can you get a to-go iced coffee for just $3.15? It’s a rare find. Taylor Swift fans will especially appreciate the lore that this charming café might have inspired her lyric, “I thought I saw you at the Bus Stop... I didn’t though.” The Bus Stop won’t disappoint.

We needed something to fill ourselves up for our journey home travels and we weren’t disappointed. A friendly welcome and an excellent friendly service throughout. There is seating inside the bus, which our 2 boys were excited to do but there is seating outside. Food was excellent and value for money.

This neighborhood gem is not only a sweet spot to eat either indoors or outdoors, but the staff is so kind, welcoming and fun - from longtime Village counterman Rocky (formerly of Village Den) to Antonio, Aiden, Abel, Maria, Angel and Victoria. Nicest folks in West Village!!

It couldn't be worse! How can such a "hidden place" from tourists be so disgusting?! The staff is not friendly at all! And this is the West Village! Shame! In the photo, the French onion soup is being served and the meatloaf is dry. Avoid this place!

It makes me sad to feel compelled to write a 3 star review for the Bus Stop Cafe, which had been a regular 5 star destination for me for many years. What's motivating me to write this is the portion sizes of coffee and juice I noticed during a meal with family this weekend, as well as the amount of Hollandaise sauce served with eggs benedict (maybe 1.5 teaspoons per egg). The coffee cups are maybe 1/2 - 2/3rds the size of how I remember them from just last summer, and at $3.50 per cup (not to mention no refills offered, and it was weak coffee). And while the OJ was delicious, the small sized juice glasses are maybe 3 shots in volume. I mentioned these things to our server and hope management reads this, because I for one am no longer motivated to visit this restaurant which has been such a favorite for decades.

Listen… I’m also surprised. After all the good reviews, I thought surely, SURELY, it was gonna be good. But, I was disappointed. I had the ceaser salad, the BLT w Avocado, and a matcha latte. And you know what? Maybe that’s where I went wrong. It seems like this is more of a breakfast good place. The latte was mostly milk, with the faintest hint of matcha. It was like they were scared of using it, or something. The ceaser salad was the highlight, though I found it pretty light on lettuce. Which is wild, because this salad is $15. The BLT was the most egregious part. It was… bland. “But how can a BLT be bland?”You might ask. Well, I’ll tell you: it wasn’t salty. A BLT with no SALT. That’s wild to me. Like, the bacon itself wasn’t salty. How do you even do that?? How do you get the salt out of bacon?? Oh, and of course, it was $15. Bummer. But, all the servers were nice, and the ambience was great. Super relaxed, and close to the park. So at least they have that going for them.

Incredible spot in Greenwich Village. Lovely place to have your omelette while visiting or living in NYC. It has a nice indoor and outdoor area to choose from. When you eat there it feels like you’re in a movie set in NYC. It really gives you the vibes of an authentic NYC dining spot. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. My wife and I enjoyed the food a lot. Highly recommend 👍

Perfect spring/summer spot with plentiful outdoor seating and not overpriced food + drinks. I hope this spot doesn’t change. Great for date night or just a quick bite. Get the beet & goat cheese salad to start!

Cozy little place with some nice outdoor seats aswell. Came in today with my girlfriend and really enjoyed the food. The grilled chicken sandwich was really flavorful and was nice and tender, came with some fries and onion rings too. The mozzarella sticks were fantastic too, had a nice crisp breading to them that were seasoned really well. The staff were really nice and the place had a nice, calm atmosphere. Really nice spot

Great place to eat and great food , BuuuT waitresses grab toast out toster with the bare hands after touching everything before hand . Cooks are doing the same . No hair nets or anything. It is not sanatary Please stop this its disgusting.

We had a fantastic dinner at the Bus Stop Cafe. Prices are the best in the Village with most meals in the low $20 range.

I don't like places that hide "beer and wine only" under a facade of cocktail lists that don't actually have vodka, gin, etc. I've seen this before, they get away with naming it 'Vodka' but it's actually rice based vodka The sheer fact of hiding it is the issue, not so much paying cocktail prices for fo-cocktails

As the lady sitting next to me said, "a paradise within the hustle and bustle of city life". Cozy, welcome spot with nice breakfast and kind staff. The terrace is lovely with beautiful spring weather.

After a week in NYC back in 2018 we managed to find this surprising oasis with very good food and great atmosphere. And so, we were looking forward to come back soon, which COVID has interrupted. Finally, we are coming back in June and impatiently exploring your menu (which has upgraded since then), salivating on our keyboard and planning as many visits as possible during our holiday in NYC. Yummy, yummy - your burgers and Caesar salad are unforgettable!!!

Bus Stop is a popular brunch spot in the West Village, with a cute & casual atmosphere. While they don’t take reservations, you can get seated decently quickly ( < 30 minute wait time) if you go before noon on weekends. The food was good and the coffee was amazing (it also came in a fun beer glass) but I thought the portion size wasn’t the largest. Service was good, as our orders were promptly taken and food also came quickly. Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience here, and would return to Bus Stop Cafe!

I came today (February 28) and I don't regret stopping! The hot chocolate is a real gem (I have to travel 6000 kilometers to drink something wonderful)! The service is excellent! In short, I recommend!

My friend brought me here (she loves Taylor Swift) and we were looking for some simple food after a day of walking around the city. Truly, some of, if not the best, food I’ve had in the city (been living here for many months and visiting for years) — good portions, amazing flavor; it’s hard to find food that is truly satisfying and satiating. I got the penne with chorizo and kale and it was splendid, my friend got the burger and fries — 10/10 review all around. And, really cute and cozy, quiet enough to have good comfortable conversation. Huge kudos to this place, and I’m ready to come back.

Very cute place. stopped in here on NYE night around 6ish or so. The wait staff were all amazing. Nye is not a night many people want to work but everyone here was so friendly and joyful, wearing new years accessories , and they had some nye decor. Also, the food was absolutely delicious and priced well.

I initially stopped here because of Taylor Swifts song “The 1” the lyrics go “I thought I saw you at the bus stop I didn’t though” Now I didn’t know this was a cafe until I saw a tiktok. So naturally since I was in NYC it was a must stop! The food was fantastic!!!!! 13/10 I ordered the challah French toast and sausage. I also got a mimosa. I never saw sausage like that before and they were so delicious and juicy and flavorful. The food was inexpensive. The staff were very kind. It’s a very cute and tiny place. I totally recommend! I will be coming back every-time im in the city!

Our first time stopping in, and we enjoyed a great meal. The menu is large, prices are good, portions are substantial and all our dishes and drinks were tasty. Nice spot for brunch/lunch and some people watching, if you are lucky enough to get one of the lone tables along Hudson Street. There was a wait to be seated, but not very long if you have a small party.

We stumbled across this place for lunch and it was such good luck. I got the chicken avocado sandwich and it was unbelievably delicious! My partner got a chicken club...which I also helped him with and it was amazing too. The staff were friendly and many spoke Spanish too, if that is your native language. It had a cute atmosphere with nice outdoor seating spaces. As it's on one of the quieter roads, you don't get the fumes from cars invading the area.

I kind of feel bad while writing this review but then I remember this tool is made so not only customers but also business owners are aware of bad experiences so it can be addressed. *FAMILIES WITH KIDS: DO NOT COME HERE. THIS PLACE IS NOT KID FRIENDLY* To begin with, no kids menu- that should’ve given us a hint… Afterwards, one of the staff members was incredibly rude to us in a passive aggressive way just because my little niece was crying- she woke up hungry and confused (1.5 years old ) and I guess he was uncomfortable so he needed to come and express his frustration by asking “could you do something so the baby stops crying, put her on your lap or something.” As if we hadn’t tried already different things to stop the situation. Both the comment and the tone were completely out of line. My whole family could feel the aggressiveness behind his comment and we just couldn’t believe it. We felt very disrespected and me and my family will never come back to this place. That aside, food was okay (not yummy- just okay) and there were some other friendly staff members (basically everyone was nice but the older grumpy guy with the mustache that was rude to us)

A friend suggested I stop here as it is on the same site as a 1938 tube train. Excellent staff and food, and they even had a sign up apologising that they were closing early that day. Extensive menu with table service, and a great atmosphere. Seating is both outside and on the upper deck. By public transport take the number 8 bus towards Newport to Amazon Jungle and walk to the junction and turn left to Holliers Park which is opposite to Goddards Brewery. There is a car park at the site.

En una zona tranquila, alejado del bullicio, te encontrarás sobretodo residentes. Vino, cerveza en promoción toda la tarde. Paramos a comer aquí . Tienes de todo, mucha variedad. La pasta estaba muy bien. Los que pedimos wrap nos pareció seco, le faltaba salsa. Las patatas buenísimas. Es una buena opción si estás por la zona.

One of the best values in the West Village. Have been going here for years. Food is excellent and for the area, the price and quality cannot be beat. I have been to a lot of restaurants in the west village as relatives live there. This is my favorite for service, quality of food and location.

This is a unique experience and we were met with a really friendly team. The Full English breakfast was really good value for money and the produce was of very high quality. This is somewhere we would visit again.

Went for coffee and scones what a lovely find, staff really friendly happy to have a chat scones very good and nice chocolate drink.

What a gem went in for a cup of tea ended up having scones jam and cream. Great place staff so very friendly stopped chatting for ages great fun eating inside the bus will definitely be going back next year. Well done keep up the good service x
