Last minute booking and didn't disappoint! They catered to our large party of people and were so helpful throughout. The food came out absolutely picture perfect and was do tasty, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals! 😋 Staff and fellow pub diners were friendly. Food was presented beautifully and was fresh and tasty. Large portions! Would definitely come again.

I came here with my mum and dad for Sunday lunch. Food was amazing, a proper home cooked Sunday lunch with quality ingredients at reasonable prices. I really appreciated choice of portion sizes. All of the staff were really friendly and would definitely recommend.

I have always loved this cosy, family run pub..The food is always top notch, the staff always friendly and the pub itself is absolutely beautiful. In the summer, sitting in the beer garden and listening to the birds singing, eating great food with good company is my happy place. Plus Monkey Haven is just down the road 😍😍😍😍 i highly recommend The Woodmans ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

14 of us came to eat..within 20/25 minutes we were all served our different meals, all piping hot and absolutely amazing. Great service, little play park out back for the little ones..Will deffo eat here again

6 of us went for a meal last night &…WOW!! 5 cleared plates, unfortunately I couldn’t eat all mine but that’s my own fault! 🤣 Food was delicious, pub grub it definitely wasn’t, we all chose different things off the menu & all came out at same time & piping hot & as for the dessert menu 😱 I can recommend the Baileys Tiramisu & the crumble, not skimpy portions either! The staff were amazing, welcomed us to WA & we’re very smiley & attentive throughout or stay. Unfortunately only 4 of us live on IOW but we will definitely be back as a six when we next get together but in the meantime the remaining 4 of us are so lucky to have this on our doorstep & will look forward to next time! Love the refurb too, it looks beautiful, good luck for the coming season, u deserve to do well 😍

We had a lovely lunch here on Saturday. We didn’t book, but that wasn’t a problem. Menu was varied, with a specials board. Reasonably priced, and the food was freshly prepared and we didn’t wait long. We had 2 small children with us, and the garden was perfect for them! We could have stayed longer. Children’s Sundaes were a real hit!

Came here on Boxing Day and despite being packed - the food was amazing and piping hot! Would come here again

A group of us met up for a meal. Generous portions and all but one had an excellent meal. We had a problem with one meal which we explained to the manager. He couldn’t have dealt with this more professionally. He really knew his job. Would recommend the lamb tangine, it was superb.

We booked last minute for a birthday meal. Staff are lovely and we received a very warm welcome. Food was superb. Don’t know how they are cooking their chips but they are so tasty! I couldn’t finish it all but wanted to. We always recommend this pub as it’s one of our favourites.

Stopped here for a drink on the way to the ferry. We had small children and a dog with us. We were made to feel very welcome by staff.

Finally managed to stop in for some food which I’ve been wanting to do since before C-19. I decided to go for the home cooked beef madras which happened to be on the specials board and I can honestly say it was simply DELICIOUS! Harry & Ronnie (Brothers) have done a fantastic job in making this pub/restaurant a really nice, warm and welcoming place to stop in for a beer or two or dine with the family. Well done Boys & keep smashing it!

Woodmans never fails on food and service. Always visit when staying on the island. Very good varied menu. Theres always a good selection of vegetables and Sunday lunch is excellent. 10/10 for food and friendly courteous staff.

Lovely sitting in the garden with a nice cold pint. We didn't have time to grab a bite to eat as we didn't want to miss the last steam train back to Haven Street.

What a lovely place. I'm touring alone with my dog, and we were spending the day on the steam railway, so we decided to jump off the train for a spot of lunch at Wooton. We both received a very warm welcome inside the building and outside in the very well-kept garden. When the meal arrived, it was presented beautifully, and the bit that went above and beyond was they... without asking... brought a fresh bowl of water for the dog and a couple of treat biscuits, on a plate so I could decide when he got them. A small act of kindness that goes a long way. Thank you (wanted to post picture but Google maps is playing up)

We tried to visit this pub earlier in the week when we visited the steam railway but didn't realize that the food wasn't served all day. It looked a nice place so we were determined to return. The pub had a nice atmosphere to it and was surprisingly busy for a weeknight evening. I had a lovely seafood linguini and my partner had lambs liver. The pub is easily accessible by bus which was great.

Fabulous friendly pub, beautifully home cooked food. A warm friendly atmosphere with good customer service. The dog was even made to feel welcome with biscuits & water. Great value for money, same we are going home tomorrow or we would of been back.

Really enjoyed our lunch @ The Woodman's. We both went for a burger, me the chicken breast and my partner the Woody burger and we cleared both our plates, super tasty. Staff were really friendly and attentive. 😄

Early dinner on a Sunday, really really good chicken pie with lots of tarragon and a really nice homemade gravy. Super comforting really well cooked food, exactly what I wanted to eat. Loved it.

Went on the steam train that stops at Wooton. Saw signs for two pubs. Picked here which turned out to be lovely. Got seated straight away and given menus.cottage pie and a tuna melt was consumed. Very nice. Bar was a bit dark and unwelcome they seemed to concentrate on the restaurant conservatory. But was reasonable price and very nice.

Myself and my family visited the island recently and found this lovely place! The food was fantastic, great portion sizes, proper homemade food with great veggie options too. The service was amazing and it’s super dog-friendly. It’s so worth the money in there, would highly recommend, can’t wait to come back! :)

Beautiful place to have your dinner, wonderful staff very helpful we had bangers and mash and chicken topper both amazing and finished with gluten free syrup sponge and trifle both gorgeous. Meal was presented well staff are faultless definitely recommend highly. Shame we don't live here or we would visit more often

Booked this pub gor my Father's wake as close to crematorium and was told they cater for this ! How wrong they were, do not use this pub it's awful, the food was disgusting and the service was almost as bad . Terrible reception and did not make us feel welcome in anyway. Paid £13 per head for food that quite honestly I would not have give my dog. A really bad pub and one I will not be using again and will warn everyone I know not to go there. When compensation was asked for I was given a feeble excuse of running costs! Not my problem and should not effect quality. Be ⚠️

It was the quietest place IV been on the island. Tho top marks for a certain musician. First young one that just needs a little more practice with adding word to his music , but he has rythom , and use his cappo like a pro , I know cause I done the same in the past . Check him out . Eddie ✌️❤️✌️

We arrived late, without booking and the young woman who served us, went to find out if we could be squeezed in. Fortunately for us she found us a table. Where we were served to drinks very quickly and our food orders taken. Our food arrived in just 10 minutes or so. Piping hot, tasty and well displayed. The salad alone was worthy of a realy good review. The food, Smoked haddock bake, Chilli and Mac and a cheese, was really tasty. With a pint of Butcome bitter it was a realy enjoyable experience. Our party of 4 arrived at the woodman arms just before they stopped serving food, having just arrived on the Isle of Wight for our 2 week holiday. They found us a table even though we hadn't made a booking. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The waiters/waitresses were wonderful and so patient I would definitely recommend coming here.

Had their Sunday roast - service was speedy and impeccable and the roast is GORGEOUS. Up there with the best on the island.

Stopped here on our way back to the ferry as it had a good google rating and we were so pleased we did! The staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was excellent, all 4 of us thought the portion size and quality was great. Would 100% go back if on the island again!

Absolutely fabulous experience. Warm welcome by the Landlords Harry, and Ronnie. The food was amazing, simple fresh food cooked with love, some of the salad and veg I believe was grown on site in their vey own allotment. We can't wait to return. Thank you so much for an amazing evening X

We had my daughter's 6th Birthday here and it was one of the best meals we have had for a very long time. Nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel very welcome. The garden is beautiful and the new children's play area is brilliant, my kids loved it even tho it was pouring down with rain! Thankyou Harry and the team, we will definitely be back 😁 Ps. Was my first ever visit but! Won't be my last. Good service very quick and friendly, the food was lovely & freshly made. Probably slightly higher prices for a pub but i was very happy with quality vs price of my meal and the place was fully booked so i think that says a lot. Also i would say there was a good variety on the menu.

Great food, lovely friendly staff who were very helpful and when my teenage nephew asked for no salad with his burger they offered him baked beans instead which he gratefully accepted. The chicken was beautifully cooked and plenty of it. There were four of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals

today28/07/23 enjoyed a great evening meal . the pub was getting busy with the two staff on duty still managing to provide good quality service the young lad that was taking an order with a person who had an alergy .He was doing a good job in answering the msany questions being thrown at him. I think it was 2 times he had to apologize saying he had to check with the kitchen for her . the lady went to give her order but had got confused and the young lad repeated the information helping the customer give her order . I had the Pie of the day and as usual it was evident it was home made and to the normal very enjoyable pie that Ihave had in the past .it was nice to see that the hygiene award was still rated at 5, As the pub is in my local area I look forward to enjoying many great home cooked meals , and soon to be provide with the local resident discount scheme to come soon My thanks to all .

We called in here on the off change on a Saturday evening hoping to eat, the young man behind the bar was very accommodating dispite the fact they were quite booked. He was very helpful when it came to ordering with my dietary requirements. Nothing seemed to be too much bother. So good we booked for Sunday lunch too. Would highly recommend this place.

A must on the Island... Lovely pub, really welcoming staff and a nice atmosphere. The menu does cater for a wide variety of dietary requirements which my partner did test them on....passed with flying colours. Good selection of drinks to suit most tastes, overall well worth a visit.

Mum and I liked to come to the Woodman’s for an evening meal on a Thursday. So when she was planning her celebration of life she asked for her wake there. The menu catered well with gluten free/veg/vegan options portions were generous and the additional cake well worth it and enjoyed. Thank you for a lovely spread which fitted with what mum wanted for her day.

Very helpful, assisted my mum to access the pub easily. Really pleasant staff and cheerful, good value for money. While we did not have any of the food listed below as my mum can only eat small meals she had a child’s dinner which she enjoyed

Walked from Wootton Station for lunch. Friendly welcome and great outdoor space with a fantastic kids play area. Mixture of hot and cold food, and kids menu. All freshly cooked and delicious!

The food was slightly lower than our expectations having visited last year. My Our pints of Butcombe Bitter were too cold.The service was poor generally although this could have been because they did not have enough staff. The Manager was the redeemable individual in this...

What a find!!! Fabulous .... and I mean FABULOUS food and plenty of it. I had the local asparagus, goat cheese & beetroot salad with a delicious dressing and my partner had melt in the mouth lambs liver followed by an ENORMOUS slice of homemade cherry bakewll tart. Delicious!! Huge beer garden at the back with a safe play area for kids. We stayed for 3 days and it was always busy. Harry, Ronnie and their staff are a cheerful, friendly & welcoming bunch. Great service, superb food and good value for money. Highly recommended We will be back!

Four of us went to the Woodman Inn on Wednesday 14th June for the £10 steak special. It was excellent. Somewhat shocked by the price of the Ghost Ship ale though, £5.40 !! But will definitely be going again.

We went for the special Wednesday night steak special and we’re not disappointed. Small rump steak, cooked as we asked and served with all the trimmings for £10. Will go back and try some of the chef’s specials. Not a Brake brothers item in sight! All freshly cooked. A real find.

Very grateful that they let us order food 5 minutes before shutting the kitchen. The prawns, mangetout, park Choi and chilli noodles were amazing, a large portion with a lot of prawns. Our waiter was really lovely and helpful too with regards my not allergy. Thank you!

Thanks to the proprietor for a quick response after my comments. Great food and beer, helpful and friendly staff. Letdown by some patrons. Lacking severely in common decency and manners. On our last visit, there was some sort of mother and toddler club that basically let their offspring run riot. Their kids throwing stones. The pub itself, staff, and food are, however, well worth checking out.

Cannot recommend The Woodmans Arms highly enough. food is excellent, home cooked, swift service, tastes so good, staff are very helpful. 10 out of 10. Probably best to book in advance

Lovely country pub with super friendly staff and generous portions. We visited on a Friday lunchtime and had the beef burger and the gammon steak, both were great! The garden is lovely and the sensory garden shows the thought that has gone into making it a welcoming place for everybody
