Rather scary coming off the main road into the road the Inn is on, a real hairpin on a bend and signage not what it could be. Nice pub, amazing location. Being very allergic to dogs I was not so impressed with the venues dog bed by the bar and blocking the route so I had to walk around a number of tables, puzzling those sat at them. Did not stay long, the place smelt very doggy and I was in fear my allergy may trigger. Otherwise, good, service and location superb ... Great place for dog owners and dog walkers.

Lovely pub with great home cooked food. Had the steak & ale pie which was absolutely gorgeous! Great size portions. Came with chunky parsnip, carrot & tenderstem broccoli. Such a nice change from normal veg. Service was very good even though they were fairly busy. Great outlook, what’s not to love.

LOVED IT! Went for dinner on Friday and so pleased we discovered it. Lovely friendly atmosphere and very dog friendly. Husband had steak and I had the veggie 3 bean chilli. Both meals were delicious and staff could not do enough for us. I especially liked the chap behind the bar (landlord??) with glasses who made us feel so welcome. The pub dog is beautiful and has his/her bed in pride of place. The place was packed with and service was great. Can’t wait to go back - this is everything we love in a pub. Thanks to all the team for giving us such a lovely evening.

We were so disappointed with this place. We went one evening to have a drink with the thoughts that if it looked nice we might stay and have dinner. However on entering the pub the windows were dirty and it was a bit off putting. There was a dog bed laid out on the floor and quite naturally my dog sniffed it and another customer jokingly said “Oh he knows the comfiest spot in the pub”. Then the lady behind the bar snapped “Does your dog moult cos that’s my dogs bed and I’m allergic to dogs and if your dog moults on the bed and it gets onto my dog then it’ll get onto me”. I ignored her rudeness and went and sat in the conservatory where we drank up pretty swiftly and left deciding to take our custom elsewhere. Not dog friendly and not even human friendly.

Our 10th or 11th visit to IOW but our first time ever here. No idea why !. Culver down is an incredible place to visit and the view from the top makes you feel very insignificant. On every visit we have gone up there just to sit and look at the 360 degree views. For some reason though we had never been inside the pub. We dropped in between the lunch and diner service and so were only able to grab a drink. The bar staff were welcoming and our drinks went down well. Sitting outside in the sunshine made it even better. On our next visit - which will happen - we must come back for lunch or dinner.

We didn't eat at the pub however we had a pint in the garden. The pub is dog friendly and has a small outdoor area with some bench type seating this is where we sat and had a pint I think we were lucky as there was no wind and full sun that day I could imagine it gets quite windy being up on the cliff in such an open area however the views are stunning you can see all around that side of the island for miles. The gentleman that greeted us was very friendly and genuine a small selection of drinks on tap. Appear to be a well Thought Out and comprehensive menu we're specials it definitely one I'd like to try in the future.

Arrived at 2.17 after a long walk hoping to get some lunch. We were told last orders were 2.15 even though the menu said food served till 2.3pm. We understood the cooking facilities had been turned off so we asked for something cold eg sandwich but were refused. It felt very unwelcoming, poor customer service and somewhere we won’t be returning to. I’m sure the owners aren’t bothered but sometimes these things come back to you.

Booked after looking for somewhere for Sunday Lunch. So glad we did as it was busy. However, tables are well spaced and the staff are very organised. We didn’t feel rushed at all (other than the fact we had a ferry to catch). We both had roasts (one chicken, one beef), the plates were piping hot and the food was plentiful and absolutely delicious. I’ve no idea how they make their cauliflower cheese but it is off the scale. We were stuffed but managed to share a crème brûlée (also delicious). This could easily become our go to place when we visit IoW as I’m keen to see if the other food is as good. Just superb!

Lovely pub, great Sunday roast, and good service even though it was busy. Definitely book a table if it's likely to be a busy day, we didn't but got lucky and only sat outside for a few minutes for a space inside to open up. There's a car park just beyond the pub, so there's no need to park along the road as some people were doing. Keep your eye out for the turn on the way up the hill. It comes up quickly, and there's nowhere to turn around before the end of the road if you miss it.

Having eaten here 2 nights. The food standard was excellent both nights. The ambience in the restaurant would be better with more clients. The service on both evenings was attentive without being intrusive.. The trout small plate was delightful in taste and presentation. The lamb and duck dishes were cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. Both dishes were well balanced and filling. The cod dish was very filling and an unusual presentation of cod and crab. The meal was complete with great champagne and wine without a need for a pudding! Compliments to the kitchen brigade and waiting staff

Crab and mackerel right by the sea. What more could you want? Not cheap, but nobody wants a cheap crab pasty and everything is here is top quality and is really good value. The wine is good quality too and compliments the food. Also, the setting is fab and with access a bit challenging you feel as if your meal is well earned.
