A lovely family restaurant. Airy,bright and a relaxed atmosphere, tables are not pushed together....all in all a nice place... good portions,fairly priced.

I came here a day ago for a family meal, the food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Very quick and pleasant survive, we all left very satisfied.

Stumbles across The Old Feathers while holidaying in the area. Lovely selection of home-made food, good portion sizes and courteous service. So good, we had a second visit before we came home.

Excellent all round from Staff Food and beautiful surroundings. We were welcomed by a male who showed us the specials board then took us into the restaurant and showed us to a table. He also checked that we were happy with our table.He gave us some menus and said he would be back shortly. He came back to check to see if we was ready to order of which we were replied yes we were. We ordered our food it was well presented, good portions and very tasty. Excellent value for money in a air conditioned restaurant So much so we booked to go back two nights later.

The food here is really good with lots of choice. However, when booking, we had got the impression that they allowed dogs rather than welcomed dogs and that they are only allowed in certain areas, which is understandable. So when we arrived, one of us waited outside with the dog to ask where they wanted us. The staff member said "in the side room" but made no attempt to tell us where that room was, so I had to find someone to ask. Then I had to go and ask someone again, which table was ours because there were several options. I got a grudging shrug and a half-hearted point at the table we should be sitting at. Once we were seated, they were attentive to start with. One of the younger girls was really lovely and checked in on us. The other made comments to another group about our dog, while he was sitting quietly under the table and was rude and offhand at best. After we ordered, they never once asked us if we would like more drinks. We had to find someone every time. We were literally shoved in the corner of a side room and pretty much forgotten about. We also had to ask them to clear the table every time it was needed as plates and glasses were left, further demonstrating that we had been abandoned and forgotten about. I would add that they were not exactly rushed off their feet. It is such a shame as the food is exceptional and it is a nice place. We just didn't feel that welcome. We would love to use them again because of the location and the standard of the food but they would really need to up their game in terms of front of house where, with the exception of one young blonde waitress, a smile wouldn't go amiss. So in summary, food 5*s service a very disappointing 1* as from the outset, they couldn't even be bothered to show us to the table. I think the owner would be disappointed to read this as you can see money, time and care has been spent on the business.

Popped in on a lovely summers evening and this place is lovely. We couldn't stay long so only had a starter each. My daughter had the mozzarella sticks and I had the chicken goujons and they very tasty and to be honest very filling. Will definitely be returning for a full meal.

Came here for my Dad's 70th. Food was amazing, portion sizes were massive. They have desserts to die for, sticky toffee pudding and creme brulee. Staff were all very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Great place to eat!

Went as a party of 4 on a Sunday. Prebooked our table which is probably necessary as were busy. We had the roast which was OK, roast potatoes tasted liked they'd been reheated and gravy could have done with a bit more flavour. Portions were good and a jug of gravy was provided without asking which was good. We were in a small side room and there was a big party in too so was quite noisy.

Had a lovley lunch here with my sisters ...I had a lagsana one of the best Iv eaten for sweet I had a cheesecake with ice cream definitely eat there again ...

The food was really good and the inside is decorated really nicely, it looks very posh and fancy inside. Fantastic service from the staff and prices were reasonable.

Just had a fantastic meal crayfish and smoked salmon salad, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious would eat it every day for a month and still not be bored everyone else had steak and ale pie they said it was a real pie and the mash potato delicious.

Cracking place never disappoints

Our first time at the feathers and we absolutely delighted with everything from start to finish. We were so full we waddled out with over full bellies Thank you so.much. we will definitely come again.

Christmas lunch for seniors club. Hate to give a poor review but thin slices of processed turkey is not my idea of a good lunch. Massive quantity of food on the plate but not at all appetizing. Vegetables were drab and not well cooked. Most of it stayed on the plate. The staff were very friendly and obliging and the dining room is bright and well managed, but the food needs to be better. Too much quantity, too much choice and lacking quality.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise. We were invited to a Christmas lunch and we were taken back by the quality of food and service of staff. Really delicious and good size portions. Don't be fooled by the frontage. Plenty of parking at the back, with lovely views and décor inside. I highly recommend going; we'll be going back at some point, hopefully, soon.

I was part of a large party for a Christmas dinner. The food was very good and generous portions all served by pleasant staff. The cost for a limited menu meal (pre-booked) was excellent value for money, I would eat here again.

The Feathers did an amazing job throwing our singing group’s Christmas Lunch. There were 18 of us. At the beginning organisation was really easy with a nice set menu, plenty of choice & some different food choices other than just turkey which was good to see. They even gave me a tick sheet which made life easy. On the day the table was set beautifully, nice decorations, plenty of parking. We had some members on wheelchairs & there was suitable access & disabled toilet. The food was plentiful, hot & very tasty. Everyone had a really good time & I’m sure we will be back next year.

The Old Feathers catered for a large Christmas Party and the food was superb. Tasty, well presented plates and friendly staff. Good menu choices and proper portion size. Very attractively decorated for the festive season. Definitely a recommendation.

We visited the Old Feathers as part of a group of 60 for a 2 course Christmas meal on Saturday 25th November, we had pre-ordered both courses. So often Christmas parties are a let down when it comes to the food, you get a poor quality meal and poor service to go with it but I am pleased to say this venue was an exception to that rule. The food was excellent and the service superb, I am Coeliac and was served a full roast Turkey Dinner with gluten free Yorkshire puddings, Stuffing and plenty of gravy, the turkey was excellent in fact the whole meal was top notch - the best Christmas meal I have had out anywhere. The Winter Crumble was excellent too. Looking round the restaurant, every plate seemed to be empty and there were lots of positive comments, we will make a return visit during 2024 and if the Christmas function is here again we will be amongst the first to book.

The Feathers is very local to me. Recently, we have not been bothered to go anywhere else because nowhere else compares. The food is ALWAYS excellent. Friendly and professional staff and great value for money. We mostly come during the day, and my absolute favourite is the Ham Ploughmans lunch. I visit regularly, with friends, twice a month, and looking forward to Christmas, I have three festive meals booked with different friends. What's not to love. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed my meal but the crumble isn't a proper crumble just a topping on some stewed fruit so disappointing when restaurants think that qualifies as a crumble

Excellent quality pub style grub, but slightly more imaginative, service was top notch too, atmosphere was missing a little something, I think it might be because of the scale of the dining area, which was a large glass roofed conservatory. I would definitely go back for the food and service. Highly recommended!

Went with my sister for tea when we were down visiting family, from the minute we walked in we had a lovely welcome from the young lady we hadn’t booked but it was a Thursday night at 6.15 so not overly busy I guess at a weekend it’s different. I’m a vegetarian and was pleased to see the menu had 5 choices which is amazing normally it’s one or two I had the tart witch was delicious and my sister had the steak and ale pie which she thoroughly enjoyed also. The service throughout was very attentive and such pleasant staff a credit to you. Shame we don’t live closer but 350 miles is just a bit too far!

Consistently good. Food is always consistent in its quality amd quantity. You know exactly what you are getting and are never disappointed. Can’t recommend this place highly enough. One tiny tiny thing - I would change - the size of the roast potatoes. They are too big for me. I prefer them small and crispy…..but apart from that- completely spot on. Will always keep coming back and bringing family. Xx

Visiting all that Norfolk has to offer and now coming inland, came for an evening meal which was absolutely lovely, helpings are very generous, the restaurant and staff are very welcoming. Highly recommended.

We love eating at The Feathers, nothing is ever a problem. They cater for fussy eaters and are family friendly, young and old. A good variety and friendly staff.

We came on saturday 26th august, it was absolutely amazing dinner and the service. lovely environment will definitely be back!

Poor food and semi trained waiting staff made this a disappointing visit. Most vegetables were well cooked but were either served cold, or warm and tasteless. There was more freezer to fork, than cooking, evident in our mains. The restaurant appeared to be more of a conservatory wedding venue, without any atmosphere. Pricey for this kind of food, and offering a really basic and expensive wine list. We would definitely not return here.

Food was good but portions very large. Service not so good - we were promised a dessert menu after the main course but it didn't arrive. Don't expect to ask twice, so went home.

I come here quite often for a Sunday roast, as the Old Feathers is only a short drive from my house. Have always had a great experience - the food is excellent, and really good value for the prices charged. There are a variety of really tasty desserts on offer (Biscoff sundae being one I tend to opt for), and the staff are brilliant. The atmosphere and scenery are also really nice, and there is plenty of parking. You will most likely need to book in advance at the weekends. At some point, I’ll pop during the week to try something else as a main.

We were in the area for a social gathering and decided to try The Old Feathers based on its Trip Advisor reviews. Wow its not difficult to understand why they get so mant five star reviews. The Decor is very nice, the staff were very friendly and helpful , service was excellent and above all the food was excellent, really superb. Thank You for a lovely evening.

We have been to the Old Feathers on several occasions, the Sunday Roasts are wonderful as was the Christmas food where 13 family members were catered for, the ordinary menu delicious. Would highly recommend.

It has been a few years since we last visited The Old Feathers so we were pleasantly surprised at the new look. Light, airy, good car park and the food was excellent. Good service and pleasant staff. Reasonably good selection of food on the menu but as a fish lover I was disappointed to find only only three fish items on offer, scampi, haddock and salmon so I hope this can be extended in the future. Prices were reasonable and much in line with other venues at present.

Evening meal out with my family ranging from 1 to 79. The food was excellent and we couldn’t have wish for better service, we even got updated on the football (England 2 - Germany 0). We all enjoyed our meals and our littlest one had the toddler meal with she loved if you have a little who loves their food I promise they will not leave hungry!

Took a friend and his wife to lunch today to celebrate his birthday, Service swift and cheerful. Food - excellent portions, great quality, well presented. Two course lunches for four people of mains and desserts were excellent value for less than £20 per head including drinks. Pleased to say that the restaurant was busy while remaining fully within the current restrictions. Not a restaurant for the pretentious, but great value food well cooked.

First visit here, only reopened today.I had the veggie burger, it was absolutely the best veggie burger I have ever eaten. My friend had the mushroom stroganoff and said it was amazing and the lady who we support had the steak and ale pie, the steak just fell apart and it all looked wonderful.Lovely place lovely staff and amazing food. Booked two meals from their ‘’Lockdown’’ menu yesterday. Collection was safe and efficient and the food was well insulated to last the drive home. Excellent food, still hot and tasty. - and plenty of it! We were very impressed. We’ve visited the restaurant before several times and the food and service has always been first rate.

We ordered curries and despite there being no veggie option the staff were so friendly and generous- not only did they specially make a vegetarian curry which wasn'ton the menu, they also included a slice of delicious cheesecake with candle for dessert and mini samosas for a starter. Complete with birthday napkins and written messages. I was blown away and we had an amazing evening.

We had a fantastic take out meal this evening. It was excellent value, generous portions and very tasty. The hot food was still hot after half an hour and very well packed. A place well recommended

We have just had a take away pork roast and a vegetarian suet pudding. They were both delicious and the very generous portions made them excellent value. Everything was wonderfully hot and the washing up afterwards took seconds! We highly recommend this as a lovely treat in these difficult times.

Very impressed with the non contact collection service. The service was friendly from phone call ordering to collection, huge serving by my standard and kept hot until we got it home to eat. Everything was cooked nicely and they cater for vegetarians and vegans. Will definitely order again.

Tuvimos una cena asada para llevar (Domingo de Pascua) y ¡quedamos muy impresionados con todo! La comida era fresca, caliente, a tiempo, sabrosa y el personal se tomó muy en serio el distanciamiento social.La comida se proporcionó en recipientes separados para cada parte de la comida. Teníamos una selección de verduras en una, que incluía repollo, zanahoria, suero, coliflor y brócoli. Una selección de patatas asadas, pudín de Yorkshire y chirivías. . . . en otro más la carne (pavo y ternera) en una olla separada con salsa y una salchicha! Tinas separadas de arándano o rábano picante (dependiendo de la carne).La comida estaba lista a la 1 pm según lo acordado, las medidas de distanciamiento social fueron estrictas y el personal puso la comida en una mesa y luego la recogimos una vez que el personal se retiró a una distancia segura.Incluso obtuvimos un pequeño extra de Pascua, con algunos chocolates. ¡Pedimos postres y eran igualmente sabrosos!¡Un regalo encantador para un Domingo de Pascua!Gracias

We visited with group of friends one evening and were asked to preorder. We were welcomed by a friendly and efficient member of staff who took our drink orders and showed us to our table. She checked for details of a declared allergy and offered advice on an alternative item to avoid illness. The food arrived promptly and was hot and well presented. The portions were generous and everyone was pleased with what they had chosen. The staff were attentive without being overbearing and were quick to respond to our requests. The restaurant was very busy but service was very good. We all enjoyed the meal and will definitely visit again.

It doesn't look much from the outside as you're pass by on the main road but be assured that it is excellent and well worth booking a table as it is very busy at times. This is a very popular venue in the evening and at weekends . The food and service are brilliant.

We hadn't been to The Old Feathers for some time and were invited to a birthday dinner for our elderly aunt. It was a windy Saturday night and the table was booked early and we arrived just before the booking time only to find the doors locked. Some of our family were all there and waiting in their cars. As I said it was a windy and cold night and some of the staff had seen us outside but still we were not allowed in, not even to the bar area in the warm.

Always a favourite of our family, so when Mum past, we decided to have her wake here. Thank you Feathers, food was excellent, above our expectations, all food labelled, the conservatory was warm and inviting and was certainly a pleasure in such a difficult time.

I had booked a party of 40 during the Christmas period and we prebooked and choose from the Christmas menu. The food was beautifully presented, tasted delicious and everybody commented how lovely the food was. The staff were attentive and looked after us well. We dined in the conservatory which was decorated for the Christmas period and it was warm and spacious. We will definitely be returning next year - it was just delightful!

Nice welcoming atmosphere, staff polite and pleasant, place looks clean and fresh, toilets spotless. Four of us had a superb evening meal here, it was all well cooked, hot when it arrived and very tasty. Service was good, we didn't feel rushed or neglected at any stage. Well done to all involved.

My wife and I went here on 12th December for a Xmas lunch. As usual the food was well cooked plentiful especially for a Xmas menu, and hot!

I had the pleasure of visiting this establishment for the Loddon ladies Dart league Christmas dinner. It was so beautifully clean and there were tastefully decorated Christmas trees in different styles in the lobby and in the large conservatory. The food was really great, hot, well presented and without doubt one of the best on-mass meals I’ve ever had.
