Disappointing visit. Chips were very good but lukewarm (closer to cold) curry sauce and microwave pie in the packet was tough to cut ! Drinks were cold though !!

The food and staff are both lovely.

The food is very good, only the serving staff is not as friendly as I expected (which is I observed both locals and tourists during my stay in the place). The location is in a quiet area, without much hustle and bustle. The price is comparable to other restaurants. Recommended to eat a good Fish & Chips, and should improve customer service

Oh dear, what happened... Has been out go to fish and chips for a while now but last time we went, the chips were not fresh. They were dry and tough and to top it all off, the person who served us literally buried the chips in salt.

This place was recommended to me by a friend - it’s not the closest to home but worth the trip. Lovely fish and chips - phone through order and ready to collect on arrival, and friendly staff willing to go the extra mile. A lovely touch that they opened up Christmas Day to give free food for those who needed it. Top marks - worth every one of those 5 stars.

Can honestly say that a portion of chips is a "portion!" Easily the best chippy for value. Can't recommend enough, my wife and I always enjoy our meals from Baileys.

Delicious fish and chips as we were on holiday in Diss we were able to sit out side to eat our fish and chips as the fish shop has a bench table out front.Food freshly cooked very good portions pleasant friendly staff if you like fish and chips give this a go.

Excellent service, staff extremely friendly and helpful. The fish was very good indeed, comparable to anything I've had elsewhere. The chips were a tad too crispy for my preference, I prefer soft (soggy) chips, but that's just me. They were nonetheless very nice. An all-round enjoyable meal.

Normally excellent, however on our visit last night, (my wife went in, I didn’t) the fish was placed on top of the cabinet for several minutes while waiting for the chips, so was cold by the time we got them home. Also the chips were cooked, but soggy, like the oil wasn’t quite as hot as it should be. Very unusual as normally they are very good! That said, still very good value and the fish was tasty

First time been to Baileys. Wasn't disappointed at all. Fish, chips, saveloy and small sausage in batter very tasty and crispy. No soggy chips. WS disappointed with the gherkin as very small, but still liked it.

Yummy fish and chips. Lovely staff and a bench outside to sit and eat in this warm sunny weather. Been a few times now. Park in the road opposite, if you want to eat outside, it is on a busy main road.

Stopped here by chance once after a visit to the area. Very glad we did. We go back often and it never disappoints. A fabulous traditional chippy. The chips were lovely, not greasy and obviously made from quality potatoes. The portions were very good value . The cod was covered in a thick crispy batter and the fish itself was nice and white and flaky. Again no grease at all. The sausage in batter was a nice tasting sausage of good quality covered in a thick crispy batter. The food was cooked to order so nice and fresh and hot. Had time to talk to the owner who is very friendly. He obviously cares about his customers and the quality of his food. Would recommend this business to anyone.

Excellent piece of place ,very large with nice batter , but the 3 of us all had chips which were very poor , large portion but at least a third of them were very small and over cooked and inedible, at least the pigeons enjoyed them the following morning.

First class fish and chips, went there when we away with caravan not far from it.

We went to the chippy at 5pm on a Wednesday and got re-fried sausage that looked awful and tasted of nothing but fat, and the chips where 50% crunchy bits that where small and hard, when we've been a bit later in the evening it's been 5 stars but this is the 2nd time we've been early and got lunchtime leftovers...... disappointing!!

We are not frequent customers but if there is a fish and chip shop in Diss that offers better quality and quantity I would be amazed. Popped in last evening, ordered large cod and small chips and a portion of small chips for my wife. The cod was absolutely superbly cooked, huge, fresh and I struggled to eat it. Small portion of chips was plenty, in fact my wife could not eat all of them. We highly recommend it.

Bailey's is a take-away fish and chips shop in the Norfolk market town of Diss. We've been using it for years, usually on a weekly basis. Friendly and efficient staff, and superb, tasty fish, chips, chicken, sausage, etc. Does the job beautifully.

Fresh fish which sticks to the batter along with a good portion of crispy chips. Would definitely recommend.

Up here on hols. Had Haddock and chips x 2. Haddock was huge, juicy and very fresh, chips crispy, had a few with fat oozing out but generally ok. Would have again.

The Best Fish and Chips Locally, Got home with them (5 minute drive) the paper showed almost no sign of grease, the fish was cooked Perfectly, the Chips were Just Right too

We often use this fish and chip shop, lovely friendly service, food is great but they only take cash. The owner gives back to the community, they are doing free sausage and chips for children on Guy Faulks night.

Bailey's has had several owners, we stopped going there about a year ago as the quality was not good. We tried them again as they were on our way home, the three of us all agreed, really really nice, the fish and chips were very good. We will use Bailey's again
