Stopped here for lunch and could not recommend it enough, lovely setting, warm friendly staff and the food was excellent. Lovely country pub and a new favourite of ours

We were celebrating a 60th Wedding Anniversary and our group of 17 (adults, children and dog!) had a superb Sunday lunch at this pub. On booking Emily was really friendly and helpful - and everyone said their meals were excellent. Thank you!

Had a wonderful Sunday lunch, food was fabulous but service a little piece meal. Not forthcoming until you asked, thus not very attentive. Dinning room very warm, would have benefited having a few windows opened.

Found this gem by accident and had a lunch time meal and Sunday lunch. Must say the Yorkshire puddings were the best I have had and I come from Yorkshire!! Sunday lunch was the best I have had. Staff so friendly and accommodating. Definitely go again before we go home and would highly recommend it.

Only went there for food based on the reviews and wasn't disappointed. All meals were exceptional especially the pork belly. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a higher caliber of food away from Lowestoft.

Great little find, perfect for overnight stay, lovely staff, kind and friendly. We had 3 rooms and all very nice and clean. Opted for breakfast which was very filling and reasonable prices. Local beers on tap what more do you need? Recommend A*

We booked a family table for 5 for Sunday. Cannot fault the food, speedy service and staff. I have a fussy hubby and he said it’s the best fish and chips he ever had ( he’s sampled plenty). We also order 2 roast beef and pork belly, I have never eaten a roast like it absolutely amazing everyone cleared their plates. Even though we were all full we couldn’t resist having a desert, and they were also amazing. Thank you will most definitely be returning soon.

Beautiful large room with original features and huge comfy bed. Great attention to detail. Selection of teas and hot chocolate but no coffee. Did not eat here but have been told the food is excellent. I'd definitely come back.

We came for lunch which we had outside as the wheel chair access to the pub is very difficult. One of us had a ribeye which was very disappointing one of us had a burger which was nice but the chips all had black spots and we’re in edible I had the lamb which at £32 was the most expensive meal. The first two slices were delicious but the next two slices I could not cut. Too tough no one came to ask how the meal was very disappointing all round

It was Father's Day and we booked at the last minute but that was no trouble for them. Parking appears limited but there is more parking in the camping area beside the pub. We were greeted by friendly, smiling and very busy, staff. We enjoyed drinks in the garden before being seated in the stylish and well decorated dining room. The service was timely and fast, even on such a busy day. The food, superb. I had the roast Topside which was perfectly cooked, pink and succulent, impressive at 3pm in the afternoon, my daughter had the mushroom wellington which was equally good. My only complaint is the cheffy idea that we all want our roast in a pile, if, like me, you are not a fan of swede puree, you don't have a choice as it mixes with the gravy. The dessert was fab too, the salted caramel Crème Brulé and the chocolate brownie were divine. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

We ate here on the first night of mini break wild camping and really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Went back on evening just for a drink. Lovely place, and dog friendly too.

Booked here for a family meal for four. Our meals were wonderful and my fish goujon sandwich was nothing short of magnificent (4in high. Wow). The other selections were club sandwich, toasted cheese and ham and chicken, and all were great. Super service from the very friendly wait staff. Recommended 👍

Came here for lunch for Birthday celebration. The place is really nice and the young lady serving was very good. The food all around was excellent, but sadly the service was very slow, nearly an hour before we got our lunch.

Visited at lunchtime today whilst in the area for my partners birthday. Amazing, friendly service (I'd mentioned that it was my fiancé's birthday and arrived to a balloon and happy birthday sign, and we were given a taster dessert with Happy Birthday piped on it FOC). Food was fantastic, so tasty. This is my second visit and I'd go again.

We stopped in here for some food whilst staying at the Priory Glamp site. The staff are very friendly, and the food is out of this world ! If you are near, it's a must!

We’ve been eating at the White Lion for many years now, unfortunately our visit yesterday was disappointing. Service was great but the menu is now very limited as seen on the sample menu. Although there were some specials if you have a fussy eater you might struggle. The couple on the table next to us felt the same. This will prevent us booking again unless the menu changes, such a shame!

Me and my partner went in for a male and the food was cold my chips got put in a metal cup with paint chipping of it which did not eat the chips because they were soggy because they was in a metal cup. I have been there multiple times with family but when me and my and my partner went the way to service was slack if any fault like I got discriminated against Eva because of my age or sexuality preference

My partner and I went for a Valentine’s Day evening out, sadly very disappointing. The food is very good, if not a little bit on the pricey side but not too shocking, however, the service is essentially non-existent. First of all, we waited for around 20 minutes just for someone to come over and take an order, not overly a problem but it should’ve been a sign of things to come. After placing our order we waited. And waited. And waited. Around 40-50 minutes. In which time multiple tables had been served starters and main although ordering after us. I managed to wave down a waiter and ask about our food. We watched as him and another waitress went back and forth with each other. Soon after food finally arrived, with an apology and offer of a free dessert and our drinks taken off the bill. We thank the waiter and start eating. Now we’ve finished our mains and we wait. We wait and we wait and we wait. No one comes to ask if we want more drinks, no one comes to clear plates, no one comes to offer dessert. So we decide to pay and leave. This is the second time we’ve visited now and it’s the second time service has been poor. So for anyone going the food is lovely. But be prepared to wait.

Came for a meal on Christmas Eve with my partner and puppy (there’s a dedicated seating area that’s dog friendly). Every member of staff we spoke to were so lovely and welcoming. Our food was absolutely delicious some of the best food I’ve ever had out. The pub is cosy and inviting, a lovely atmosphere and booked to go back for another special occasion.

Gloriously beautiful situation and gardens, inside has a cosy bar and spacious restaurant. Popular with locals and visitors alike as well as some well behaved dogs who very much appreciated the doggie bar treats. The staff were lovely - friendly and helpful and buzzing round making sure all were having a good time. The menu is obvious put together by someone who knows and loves food and was executed very well indeed. Highly recommend!

Visited here this evening to celebrate our birthdays on our weekend away. We were able to book a table to eat with our dog too and the was absolutely amazing, along with the service/staff. I’m a coeliac (gluten free) and had some lovely choices on the menu and felt confident with what I was being served. Would definitely recommend!!

Been vegan for 20 years, been all over the world, had some great vegan food, and you know what, we didn't expect to find such good quality vegan food in the middle of the broads! The cauliflower stater was perfect, so perfect, I ordered another. I had an excellent vegan Sunday roast for mains, it was superbly seasoned! It was really good. So, so impressed with this place. The staff were a delight, it wasn't expensive, it's a lovely old building and the outdoor area is really well presented. Top quality vegan food! The toilets even had mini hand towels to dry your hands. Only seen this in 4/5 star restaurants. Nice touch!

Met up with old friends and the spacious dining area allowed for a large table. Plenty of choice on the menu with some interesting and very pleasant combinations. The food was of a good quality and quantity served promptly and all together which doesn’t always happen with large groups. Although it is a fair bit off the beaten track it is well worth the diversion.

Had a meal and stayed the night. Meal was wonderful and the room was comfortable and clean. However, the service was fantastic... Nothing was too much for us and a nice little birthday surprise for me too. Lovely relaxed atmosphere made for a superb evening all round. Thank you.

WE had a lovely evening at The White Lion. The service was excellent and so was the food. I am vegetarian and ordered the beetroot tart which was gorgeous...so much flavour in the beetroot and dressed with courgette spaghetti and watercress(?) and pine nuts and served with hassleback potatoes. Even in this day and age, it is not always easy to find tasty and interesting vegetarian food but I would be very keen to go back and try the other options on the menu at this pub. My friends are meateaters and also enjoyed their meals...beautiful food, well presented. Highly recommend for vegetarians/vegans and meateaters!

Had a great stay and evening meal and drinks but breakfast in the morning was disappointing one small poached egg overdone one piece of bacon that you could snap it was that dry ,one mushroom one sausage one grilled tomato small pot of beans was well over priced for what you got apart from that had nice time .

We have now visited The White Lion for many months and both the food and service is perfect. We sat outside in the summer and in the restaurant in the cooler months and on both occasions the smiling staff have been most welcoming. I would recommend to all who enjoy good food and helpful staff.
