Went there for a with related event and had their buffet. Great selection of items and also very tasty. The pub itself is lovely and the staff very helpful. Well definitely be coming back for more food!

We attended a wedding reception in a private room at the Bird in Hand. The food was amazing and plentiful considering they had about 50 covers for a 3 course meal the quality and service was exceptional! We stayed overnight in one of the very comfortable rooms. A good sized bedroom with kettle, tv, iron and ironing board in the wardrobe. Shower over the bath. Excellent full English breakfast, maybe a bit too generous it’s quite a challenge to finish it all! Would happily stay again if we are ever in the area.

Superb stay. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food was fantastic. Room was very clean and comfortable. Couldn't fault the place or people.

Couldn't eat my meal. Ordered fish with salad. Brought fish with chips! Got salad eventually, but 3 bites of fish produced 4 bones! I left most of it.

Called in after reviewing. It did not disappoint. Atmosphere was very nice, and the food was superb. Staff friendly and helpful.

Although my meal came out late as the waitress ordered the wrong dish the chilli beef tacos were amazing wish they would put chilli on more often because best chilli I have had in this country

Not the best meal/experience I have had at this venue. Kept waiting for too long to check in for table reservation. Ordered drinks plus water for table which never arrived. Unfortunately a gentleman was poorly in part of restaurant we were given a table. Not venue's fault but handled very badly. Not asked if we were OK needed to move as was unpleasant and would have given gentleman more privacy. Plus my main meal was cold. Cooked well but cold.

Really pleased to have found this place. Excellent food, first class service. So good booked again for few weeks time, definitely going to become one of our favourites 😊

I used to eat here regularly years ago, it was excellent, the service as well as the food. I took two friends today, we waited 35 minutes for a drink, after sitting there without anyone asking for 15 minutes,and ended up having to ask what happened to our drinks. We waited nearly a hour for our food, and people who came in after us were served first. It wasn’t the experience I wanted for my friends. I understand they were busy, but I’ve worked in the industry myself, and it needs to be a good experience for the customer, which it wasn’t. The food was great though.

The best gluten free Sunday Roast that we have had for ages. It was served by lovely friendly staff. On Saturday we had the fabulous gluten free chicken burger.

A very warm welcome awaits you at this pub, by the staff. The food is amazing, and portions plentiful, has a homemade quality about it that you cannot beat, which is reasonably priced. Real ale on sale too at the bar.

We wanted to celebrate my husband's birthday and I am glad that we visited this pub. The service was second to none (two very friendly and efficient staff members). We felt welcome right from the start. Our order was was taken and was prepared almost immediately. Food and drinks arrived very quickly and our dishes were nice too. Altogether excellent experience. Thank you for making this day special.

Friendly staff and amazing food

I took around 15 people on a bus to this pub for lunch. The organiser booked us all in with reception. I (the driver) went to order a coffee. The barman saw me but went to serve a pub regular instead of me. Then another man came to the bar and the barman, went to him with pleasantries by first name, took his order for beer and food. I just stood there wondering what had just happened. I said " so my money is not good enough" . His reply was "i throught you with the lady"...so he had seen me...but didn't even ask if I wanted anything...VERY POOR SERVICE. As a professional bar tender he should know who is next. I will NEVER ATTEND THIS PLACE AGAIN AND WILL NEVER TAKE MY CUSTOMERS AGAIN

We came across the pub by chance. Greeted by Jan, we knew instantly that we would be well looked after. We hadn’t pre-booked however a table was soon sorted for us. We were four adults and one child (table 33). We had roast dinners and a kids burger. The food was absolutely delicious. We couldn’t fault a thing. We had three desserts as two of us were full from the mains meals. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Thank you, Jan, Michella, Trina and Annabelle. Heather, Vince, Tippi, Tom and Anna. X

Heard about the good food and service from friends so thought we would see for ourselves. Hadn't booked but even though it was just before 8 the staff found a table with no trouble or delays. Between us we had the a burger, steak and ale pie, alos the scampi. All were great and very enjoyable. Special shout out to the staff who were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.

Just popped in for a drink with my wife and young son, great Lotus photos and memorabilia. The staff (I think landlady?) was ever so friendly.

My second visit to this pub and the first for my wife. A very good atmosphere and quick service. The staff are very polite and courteous. We each had a light lunch. I struggled to finish mine, and the wife took part of hers home. The meals we had were much bigger than we expected and good value for money. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

She disappeared behind the doors to the kitchen, and had clearly forgotten we were there waiting to pay. By this time the restaurant had largely cleared out, as the main lunch rush was ending. There was not a single waitresses withing our vicinity for the next 20-30 odd minutes to attend to the few remaining customers! we could hear the young lady through the nearby doors to the kitchen having a chat and laughing with another member of staff for a large duration of that time. Eventually, a different waitress emerged whom we asked if we could pay the bill; she apologised for how long we'd been waiting, and promptly allowed us to pay our bill and leave. Just been for a meal it was brilliant,

We came out for a birthday meal and wanted something good, we were not disappointed. We chose not to have a starter as we wanted to eat our main meal, this was a good choice. We had the steak and ale pie (a must for all those pie eaters, plenty of steak and flavoursome), Vegetarian tagliatelle (great option for those that don’t eat meat) and pork loins (these were cooked to perfection, a great size, a great texture (not tough or dry), perfect amount of gravy, again great flavour). We are glad we chose here as it was nice to have something special, there are local places but the food is just ok whereas this was great. Good choice of drinks, service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely and delicious meal, made more special by being served by Thomas, he's first shift, a new waiter.

This restaurant had come very highly recommended so we were very excited, but sadly very disappointed. The service was very poor. We had a reservation, but upon arriving we were ignored, and left to stand like lemons. The service continued to be poor, and we were referred to as "girls" (we are in our 40s and 50s). Food was mediocre. We left very disappointed

Excellent food, and couldn't fault the service, I had spicy garlic prawns which were I think the best I have ever had, restaurant was full but the staff still managed to give us all the attention we needed, we will be back.

Has gluten free and non alcoholic beers on draft, and really good classic pub food - bangers and mash and the steak and ale pie were great.

I love The Bird In Hand beautiful pub/restaurant. This latest visit being the first time I've sat and ate a main course there. Very generous portion sizes. I had the Steak and Ale pie and it was full to the brim with chunks of succulent steak. I enjoyed every mouthful. All the staff were happy, enthusiastic, and friendly. I'd recommend anyone to go there Lotus enthusiast or not. Yes, also enjoyed being surrounded by Lotus Cars history and memorabilia.

A colleague at work recommend that I look at the menue, as I live in Lincolnshire and this is my second visit to Wymondham. I was greated by Mable (not real name) I was a little nervous walking in, but with such a friendly welcome put me at ease right away. I cannot thank Ang and Mable enough, I felt I had been a hundred times. Thank you ladies. I had the beaf and Ale pie. Aaaaan what a pie, the meat was tender and seasoned to perfection for my tastes, the mash was smooth and again just perfect. I just I cannot wait to return.

Had breakfast here with our family. Great service and delicious food, as always. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunchtime meal and dessert. The Lotus Car memorabilia keeps my hubby entertained, so much so, he brought some of his own Lotus things as a gift for the owner. All the staff are so friendly and helpful and this place is now our go-to place for special occasions (& any other times we want a treat). I've enjoyed several different meals and everything has been so tasty. I even tried scampi today, which I detested in other places, but this time I cleaned my plate. Highly recommend.

Dinner & drinks here after a day at the Lotus Driving Academy. What a perfect way to end what has to be one of the top 10 days of my life. Thanks to Toby, Sheena, and the other drivers we met & drank with to make this such a great day.

This moderately priced hotel offers great value, good food and drink and the 'cabaret' provided by the two waitresses,'Elsie' and 'Ethel', is worth the price of the meal alone! Adnams at £4.40 a pint...wow. Good breakfast, huge 'full English' at a reasonable price. The rooms are modern, comfortable, quiet, a good size and have everything one needs, as is the bathroom, equipped with large fluffy towels and everything works! We paid £160 for the previous night b&b and it was no better.

We went for lunch on a Saturday as we have not been for sometime. Well the food was fantastic!! We tried the Asian menu and were so delighted that we did. The beef massaman curry was superb, tender beef with a wonderful curry sauce and the Pad Thai noodles were also superb. This was followed by a sublime sticky toffee pudding. We were told that the Asian menu had only been added to the menu the day before and I would like to say to others, give it a try as you will not be disappointed. 10 out of 10! The next time we go, it will be the wonderful Asian food for us.

Planned a country drive with a stop-off for lunch, and came across great reviews for the Bird in Hand so rang to book - lucky we did as they were almost full but managed to get a table for two. There is plenty of parking, a nice beer garden, and pleasant dining rooms. The decor was a little plain but nice enough - and the excellent food and service certainly made up for that! Good choice on the menu. Hubby went for the steak and ale pie, which came with a 25-minute wait, so we opted for starters of carrot and spicy parsnip soup, and the spicy prawns. The soup was absolutely delicious, with fresh granary bread and butter. The prawns were beautifully cooked and so tasty - best he's had for a while. Then the pie arrived - wow! It was huge - the photos other reviewers have posted don't quite do it justice. Home-made, packed with steak, served with crispy, chunky chips and a good serving of veg, it even challenged Mr. Big-eater! I'd opted for a "light lunch" of spicy chicken baguette with chips and salad, which also was a generous portion. Prices are very reasonable. Prices are very reasonable. Service was amazing - staff were cheerful, friendly, and attentive. Would definitely recommend!

As ever, food was excellent, none of us had any complaints. Despite the kitchen being very busy due to many diners, the waiting staff were efficient, friendly and apologised for the delay in our meal and offered a complimentary drink. The waiting staff work tirelessly without any complaint - I hope management appreciate their work ethic.

The bird in the hand is everything you would imagine from the English countryside of yester year. Brought forward in perfect blend with modern and past heritage. The service was nothing but a smile. Very helpful and prompt service. Food was prompt within the 12 minutes from serving drinks and very pleasant. The food, was hot cooked to temp I had the roast beef. Others had chicken cooked to perfection. This was a special occasion for me and my family celebrating my big sister birthday. It was a lovely time all round.

Late booking, hoping we could get a table for 2 with our dog on a Tuesday evening. Couldn't have wished for a more pleasant response and then greeted on arrival like regulars! Great pub with character, the food was outstanding - plenty of choice and variety and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough. What a find! We will definitely be back!

We ate in the bar area which was really comfortable. Plenty of room and decor was modern but still felt like a pub. The menu had plenty of choice and the food was amazing, freshly cooked and generous portions. The staff were very welcoming and made a huge fuss over our dog. It was the best pub meal I’ve had for a long time. I was also shown one of the guest bedrooms which was really spacious, warm and modern. I’m definitely staying here next time I visit on my own (you cannot stay overnight with a dog). An amazing pub, even the garden was beautiful.

Had a meal there with some friends,had steak and ale pie, unfortunately the pastry was a little bit to hard to cut which was a bit unfortunate and also the base on the cheesecake we had was also hard which spoilt the evening .

Such a lovely place, with lovely staff! Very attentive, and officiant- which is a breath of fresh air!! Turned up, they were fully booked, but couldn't do enough to fit us in as we traveled especially to eat here. The food was amazing. Would highly recommend this place. WE WILL BE BACK when we visit norfolk again.

Went out for a drive and as we headed through wrenningham we decided to give this place a try.They were busy and we hadn't booked but that wasn't a problem we sat in the bar area by the window very nice surroundings extensive menu choices for all and staff very efficient and friendly.I had the slow cooked pork belly with apple and sage mash and vegetables my other half had the steak and ale pie with chunky chips and veg. Both meals were well presented and delicious 😋 sadly we were too full for dessert but I would highly recommend.large carpark at the rear and seating outside also.

I visited the birdnhand today at 12 and i had mac and cheese i have came home and i have been sick i’m constantly being sick. Nobody in my house hold has a sickness bug or anything so i think it’s from this doggy max and cheese. !!

The pub has been host to a monthly meet for the local MX-5 owners club for several years, accommodating groups of up to 70 people at a time in their restaurant / function rooms. The staff are friendly and very helpful, the pub itself, set in a peaceful area of rural Norfolk,, majors its decor around the local business of Lotus Cars. Great food and drinks selection, firmly recommended

We stayed for the weekend in room 1 had a lovely weekend rooms clean and comfortable everything you needed. The pub was lovely food was lovely specially the steak and ale pie . Jan and trina and Martina and Alisha thankyou so much for making us feel welcome and made us feel comfortable for our stay for the weekend we will definitely come again . Hope to see you soon girls

Despite being very busy, we (party of 5) were extremely well looked after by Kelly, Annie and Lynne. We sat on the comfy sofas and enjoyed a drink before moving to our table. The food was delicious- particularly the steaks. Will definitely be visiting again.

What a great place for Breakfast, there was 10 of us for Mother’s Day Breakfast, I must say I felt really spoilt, the staff were brilliant, kept bringing us Coffee, Tea and fruit juice, you normally help yourself, but it was well thought out as it was very busy. Kelly made sure our party had everything we needed. So patient and accommodating. And the food was great as well! 5* all round.

We came for breakfast yesterday, there was a big group of us. The food was great and it was amazing value because the teas, coffees, and juices are included. Kelly was our waitress. She was very friendly and was more than happy to change some breakfast items to suit our preferences. She was constantly running around after us, filling up our drinks and getting us extra toast, etc. when we asked. I would definitely recommend going here for breakfast.

I visited the restaurant this morning for breakfast and the food was lovely, however I didn’t have a very good experience with the waitress. I think her name was Kelly. When taking my order I told her I didn’t want a few things on the traditional breakfast and she replied in a very rude manor “so what do you actually want, because that seems ridiculous” I was honestly taken aback and was shocked at how she spoke to me. It was very embarrassing in front of my partners family. I left feeling quite upset.

Had a lovely meal on Saturday night (9th March) to celebrate my special birthday. Food and service very good. Thank you to you all at the Bird in Hand that night.

Had a meal on TUe 5th March. Staff were all friendly and helpful as usual. The food and menu choices was excellent as always.

Just had the most lovely lunchtime meal with my mum, made even more special by the lovely member of staff that looked after us, the food was lovely too. Lucky to have this place on our doorstep! will definitely be back!

Thanks to staff at the bird in hand, who, even though rest off their feet, during our visit, were nothing short of amazing. We were seated promptly and eating our lunch within 10 minutes. Who does delicious, definitely best around! It was worth the hour round trip! Looking forward to visiting again!

We always have our works ‘Christmas’ meal in Jan/Feb and wanted to go somewhere for a nice Sunday roast. Service was 100% from start to finish, food was delicious and our ‘quirks’ were catered for without making us feel an inconvenience. Thanks for having us!

We came to the Bird in hand tonight for a family meal and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to go to a fantastic family and dog friendly pub. Service was exceptionally good; Kelly, Lynne, Angie and the rest of the team there tonight were attentive, friendly and efficient. Great homecooked food.

We visited last night and had a lovely meal. Everything was very tasty! The portions were huge and the pies we had were delicious - obviously homemade with proper pastry. Our son (aged 13) ate every single thing - starter, main course and dessert and declared at all brilliant! What made the meal even more fun was the great rapport the server, Jan, had with us and especially with our son was fabulous. What a brilliant lady who is excellent at her job as well as being really personable - she really made the experience top notch. Thanks Jan - and everyone else. And yes, he did eat his mint as soon as he got outside!

We visited here on the 24/2/24 for a family meal . The restaurant is very clean and well laid out . The menu is quite large and reasonably priced . Service was good and the food was fantastic . My wife is a coeliac and was easily catered for. For three mains , 3 drinks , 2 coffees and 2 desserts the bill came to £70. I found this reasonable bearing in mind the food was of good quality . Well recommended and worth a visit .

Had a lovely evening with friends. The food was really tasty, belly of pork with Dauphinoise potatoes and veg with steamed syrup pudding and custard for dessert! YUM! The staff who served us were brilliant, really friendly and happy to help, can’t thank them enough...

I have just had breakfast at The Bird in Hand. Wow!! Friendly welcome. Great service. Lovely coffee and the Eggs Royale were fabulous. Everything is reasonably priced too. I thoroughly recommend a visit.

If you like great food, fantastic surroundings but most of all, 5 star service, then this is the place for you. My wife and I went for Valentines day dinner and were very, very impressed. Great menu choices and plenty of beer and wine options....

Wow , what a fabulous, friendly , welcoming place . Jan met us ( and Hector , our 3yr old Retriever) and made us feel so welcomed . We had a wonderful meal , so delicious. My husband Steve adored all the Lotus memorabilia around...
