Lims in South Norfolk

My Granddad, Ron Henery (R.I.P.), wouldn’t settle for anything but Lims. I’ve been coming here since I was a lad, barely tall enough to see over the counter. Every time I visit Loddon, it brings back cheerful memories. The chips are excellent, and the fish is, without a doubt, the best by a country mile.

Been there lots of times, but now £25 for two large cod and chips ! To much money! And not the Same as before! Not going back!

Not greatly impressed. 2 large cod and chips nearly 30 quid and we received over cooked dryed up small bits of cod and a few handfuls of luke warm chips. Place seemed to be ran by kids which was odd.

I feel that I must comment on how lovely the staff are. All so polite, especially the chap with dark hair. The food was good too!

Nice clean, friendly place to grab some fish and chips, always a very tasty meal and never greasy at all, sometimes the amount of chips you get varies quite a bit but over all lovely take out x

Best fish and chips I have in a long time great service from staff they polite freindly and carring and give a very quick service when frying up fresh food. Now wonder they are popular with locals. The fish in batter is nice and crispy yet moist and tasty and the chips are lovely. If you like curry sauce with your fish it's best. I am never disappointed such fast service pure team work dishing out great food it's like a wonderful assembly line a pleasure to watch.

Excellent fish. We had cod and also saveloy and sausage, all well enjoyed. The curry sauce and mushy peas were great too. Crunchy and yummy chips to boot. Perfecto!

We love these chips sooo much that we now travel from Ludham since moving so we can still have them. The cod is always perfect. The batter is lovely and crispy. We use this chippie every Thursday and have NEVER had a bad chip. The quality has stayed even though it has new owners. If you like fat greasey chips this isn't for you but if you like well cooked chips it's perfect.

Open all week and located in the centre of Loddon with good Covid precautions. The menu range is average as are portions, but the quantity is first class. Staff are very friendly and helpful, prices are competitive.

This meal was good - not excellent but certainly not poor. Perhaps we are used to our local, we would certainly visit again if we were in Loddon

Good fish and chips for your money

This is my local chip shop, cooks when you order so everything is hot and fresh. It's run by a husband and wife, always friendly, and always up for a chat. Lots of boating holiday maker come back year after year, to get Kim's fish and chip. There are lots more no menu.

Mr. Lim, a local legend. I have been eating his chips since before I could see over the counter, and now my children are doing the same. What other testimony could there be to the quality and consistency of his product?

Lims is the best fish and chips in the county, allways call here on our way ba k from Norwich to Beccles.

Very friendly good quality fish and chips, I take my own batter as I am on a gluten free diet which Lim cooks for me separately, easy parking is available at the church plain 2hrs free

Tried Lims one day as many of my friends had recommended it as an alternative to Loddon plaice. I can only agree with their opinion now. The fish is quality the chips were great and the curry sauce was tasty. The service was quick and effective and let me know what fish was in what box. A small detail that goes a long way. Lim and co always have a smile and we’re keen to interact. Price is good aswell. Highly recommend for a good fish and chips.

This is very good take away fish and chip shop, food is cooked while you wait. Parking a problem but public parking is but a short walk away.

Popular chip shop with all you'd expect. Have been visiting this shop for years but not regular enough to be known. A couple of awards for 'Best Chippy' from the local paper. Friendly staff mostly. Well cooked food, fish is mostly cooked to order. The last few times I have visited I have notice the portion sizes are much smaller and so are the fish portions. I stood behind someone who asked for a large portion of chips and was served a mountain of chips - Thinking I could share that amount among my children I ordered the same - Only to be given what looked like a standard portion! On reminding the server I asked for a large portion I was told 'It is!'... It seems you get a proper size portion if you are known to them and a much smaller one if you are not. So be warned - don't go by the person in front's order.... It may not be the same. I'm now trying the other 'Chippy' up the hill.... Bigger Fish portions.

My first night in Loddon, I got fish and chips from Lim's and sat on a bench in the churchyard to eat them - they were so good I did the same thing the second night. Fish and batter were both delicious and the chips just the right texture. Doused with vinegar, perfection!

My wife and I had fish and chips from Lims some years ago and we thought that they are the best fish and chips that we had, had. Our visit was at least 5 years ago.....2010

Fabulous chips. so good that I would rather eat them on the way home than bring them back and lay the table.

I think "the other" fish and chip shop in Loddon beats Lims for quality and crispness of batter, but that particular shop cannot always be relied upon to produce uniform sizes of fish (they sometimes slip in a smaller piece). Lims always maintain a high standard of food and service: I would certainly recommend them, and will be going to them from now on.
