The Rock Tavern in Wyre Forest

Been a couple of times now both times we had good food with great service and at a very reasonable price. Parking when busy could be a bit awkward however we didn’t have a problem. Very friendly staff nothing too much trouble.

Great food friendly service cosy environment.

A welcome respite from the fairly grim weather outside, the log burner made a warm cosy place to while away a few hours, with great ale, Worcestershire Sway. The patrons were welcoming and chatty.

Really nice pub with a cosy, friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff. We had a couple drinks and a plate of chips, they were really tasty so can imagine the rest of the food would be too. Would reccomend dropping by.

The food was good. The ambience was great. A must visit.

This is one of our favourite pubs, especially in the summer with tbeir beautiful beer garden. Food is amazing and good value for money. Always a warm welcome when you enter, such a cosy pub. Even happier now they are on Just Eat for food.

I have to give 5 stars because the food as always was fantastic and all the staff friendly. Unfortunately i won't be going back because they have changed the whole system and it is no longer waiter service. When i'm halfway through my meal i don't want to go upto the bar to queue up and pay! To me it cheapens the whole experience and i'm sure they miss out on desert and coffee sales because people can't be bothered to go upto the bar again!

Food was amazing, but all the dishes took a long time

Popped in on the off chance of a Sunday lunch. The staff were very accommodating and found us a table. Good range of beer and some guest ales by the looks of it. Food was really tasty. The pub was clean and the tables were well presented. Would definitely visit again.

Cracking pub with excellent food and service. Sunday lunch, which we had, was very tasty with a great selection for £13.50 Plenty of parking on the front but be careful when reversing back onto the main road as it's very busy. Good selection of beer. Clean toilet and a very broad mixture of clientele. Will definitely return.

This place is incredible! The bar staff are amazing, the foods fantastic, and the atmosphere is superb! Wish this place was in Devon so I could come every week🙌.

Lovely cosy atmosphere with really friendly staff. Great menu particularly if you like spicy dishes. We come here often and would recommend.

This quaint Inn between Stourport on Severn and Hartlebury Common that was converted from 3 houses into this Inn. Has been serving the public since 1845. Just opposite is a car park and an entrance to this beautiful beer garden which requires going down some stairs. They also have a place they serve drinks from too and is nestled by a river and an old railway bridge. Behind the Rock Tavern are caves in which you can visit but are currently closed. I do recommend a visit here i do plan to go again. Its a tavern that has a touch of the past meets the present and well designed and they do on occasions have live music.

Great pub and very friendly staff, I enjoy coming here during the summer months, when we walk from Stourport and over the viaduct to get there. The riverside bar is great but not accessible for people with severe motabilty needs or wheelchairs, and due to location probably will never be.

Cannot say too much as they are refurbishing when we went, staff though were very pleasant

Me and my family came to this beautiful well presented pub today for the first time, and we can't wait to return! The food was absolutely gorgeous quality food. And the lady brought some crayon and paper for my 2 children. Really nice friendly place 5*

Very friendly family-run pub that does a great Sunday roast. Choice of three well kept real ales. The service is really quick. Seems like a very well run pub. They have a garden down by the river but I think it's only open during spring and summer. There's an interesting walk to the pub from Stourport along the canal then an old railway line path. Only takes about 25 mins.

Excellent Sunday dinner and excellent service in a lovely cosy pub with log burner roaring. Good choice of ales too. Highly recommended.

This is a true shining gem of a place, slightly off the main road close to Stourport/Kidderminster but certainly well worth a drive to get here. For evening and weekends it is well worth making a reservation as it can be busy which is a great sign as many people are repeat customers. A range of meals to suit everyone including at least one vegan meal on offer. The staff are friendly and efficient as is the service.

A brilliant find! Staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. The pub itself was lovely very cozy. The menu was great. A good selection of pub classics. The food was very tasty, excellent quality and great portion sizes. We were visiting but would certificate recommend if in the area.

Menu with something for everyone, reasonably priced. Generous portion sizes. Excellent food - we had half rack of ribs and beef lasagne - reasonably priced wine and well kept real ale including Enville with Ginger. Good and cheerful service. Will return

Went there sunday had huge best pizza we have ever tried home cooked chips staff great got caves at rear of pub cracking on river beer garden this pub is a delight back soon

Lovely meal at the Rock Tavern. They were great and accommodated a party of 12 at short notice. The meal was fab and the location is really nice.

Had a drink Here & found the pub clean & tidy , good quality ale & a friendly welcome from the bar staff . Didn't eat but have heard good things about the food . Interesting smoking/vaping area out the back with a cave by it ( which was one of the reasons I searched out this pub anyway ) . I noticed ( unless it is just for the Platinum jubilee ) they have live music here in the evenings at weekends .

Beautiful little pub, you can sit in a cave to eat, it was so fun, they brought out a blanket and a candle for us, so cozy staff are brilliant and welcoming, the food was very tasty too the chips are amazing

Nice pub with old fashioned meals that were REALLY NICE. I had fish & chips in the basket, chips were great and fish was fine, and a very reasonable price. Enjoyed the beer too. Recommended.

Great friendly and welcoming pub staff are fantastic and nothing is to much trouble for them,food is also very good it is now our number one pub in Stourport.

Popped in for a quick drink before an event at Hartlebury Castle....such a nice atmosphere and friendly bar staff who went out of their way to find seats. Only had a light meal but it was presented well and tasty. Shame they only served Chilean sauvignon.

Would never go back walked in with my partner and my dog for some food, I asked the woman working behind the bar 3 times where is it OK fit me to sit because obody offered us anywhere, she just ignored me it seemed so I sat down to wich then she said you can't sit there and litterally moved me to the table right next to it my partner went to the bar to order some drinks and said we would like food she served her drinks gave her no menu did not come over to our table to ask I reluctantly drank my drink then had to get up and go as did not feel welcomed at all completely ruined our saterday they need much better customer service

Can honestly say we've never had a bad meal here, we visit regularly and their sunday roast is one of my favourites! Maggie, Jess and team are the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Definitely worth a visit 😀

Really nice meal with family at the weekend. First time back here in over 10 years as we have moved away from the area but was really impressed with the food, service and knowledge/ ability to cater for my dietary requirements as a coeliac.

Went here for my Birthday Sunday lunch as quite a large group back in October. The food was sensational! Best Sunday lunch I’ve had by far in a long time and best I’ve found around Stourport to date. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend!

Great family run pub with brilliant food and drink selection. Maggie, Matt and Jess are very welcoming and it is without a doubt the best beer garden in Worcs, a brilliant place to sit and relax in the sun and listen to the live music on on a Saturday evening.

Always a nice, friendly atmosphere, set in the lovely, rural village of Wilden. During Lockdown, they arranged seating by the riverside, across the road, which was fantastic, but I especially like the cave at the rear, which is part of the building. Definitely worth a visit!

Staying in the area for a visit to Severn Valley Railway and was recommended this pub by the hotel we stayed in, and I'm so thankful they did, the staff were so warm and welcoming and they had Covid precautions in place, and hand sanitiser available on the way in. Someone came to take our food order then placed it on a table nearby for us collect.I ordered sirloin steak and my partner the fish and chips with onion rings on the side both were excellent, the food arrived hot and very tasty. We then placed our empty plates on the table nearby for the staff to collect. I would have had desert but we were way too full, i would definitely go back and hopefully soon and would recommend to anyone to pay this place a visit it would be my local place to eat if i were a local.

Staff and food were excellent tables well spaced out food was very good and staff very polite. Covid precautions were in place but well organised and as unobtrusive as possible Would reccomend and go ther again

I thought the caves behind the pub were fantastic. A lovely surprise as I didnt know that they were there. Went home and googled about them as I didnt see any info at the pub.

Relaxing and peaceful down by the river on this hot and humid day

First time out since March, the staff here have really taken safety seriously. The food and service very, very good. We took advantage of the “eat out to help out” and had an excellent and not too expensive evening. Many thanks.

Lovely Sunday Lunch , choice of 3 meats , very good value, very tasty , my sister has to have gluten free , they are very accommodating , my mom has mash instead of boiled potatoes , we were bit late ordering forgetting it was Father’s Day but lady who answered phone said they would do our meals , put all meals separately ordered to pick up as restaurant not open yet , l highly recommend the Rock Tavern

We eat at the Rock Tavern pre coronavirus and the food is outstanding. When we heard that they were opening for takeaways during lock down. Well you will not be disappointed as the food is as good as if you were in their restaurant. It might take some time to get through to order on the phone but don’t give up as it’s worth it.Well done Maggie and Hubby fantastic and see You again next week.

Owing to the fact that all pubs and restaurants are pretty much closed due to the coronavirus it was my birthday Sunday 26th April 2020, The Rock Tavern are offering takeaway meals and so we ordered 3 (2 need and 1 turkey) we collected the meals in our allotted time slot and then took them home.What an incredible meal, owner Maggie and the team did us proud.

We had a takeaway tonight, steak, chips, mushrooms, onion rings, tomato and fried onions, desert was apple pie for me and chocolate fudge cake for my wife. It was absolutely spot on and I can't fault their service, give a try they are really friendly.

Fabulous food, atmosphere and hospitality. Very clean as well. What more could you ask for

We have just got back from having Sunday lunch at The Rock, I read the reviews before we left (including the bad ones) and I must say we were really pleased. The service was excellent, the food hot and tasty and a very nice friendly atmosphere; what more could you want. All I can say is you cant please some people and I speak as I find and we found the experience really good, so yes we will be going again.

Disappointed. We went to the Rock before Christmas. The staff managed to find a table and service was fast despite the pub being very busy. We have been many times and thought the food and value were generally good but now feel the menu is now dummed down. My husband had the soup which was tasteless.I had it before but hoped it might have improved. The price was expensive considering the ingredients. My starter was good. His main was just ok. My main was the vegetarian curry which was very good but there were no poppodoms nor nan bread with it or to buy. The portion was huge and I would have preferred a few of the above particularly for the price which seemed excessive for the dish. The wine was £17.50 which was extortionate for this grade of wine given the price it can be bought for by the pub. We used regularly to walk up the canal from town and eat a meal but now we will only buy a drink. Shame as we came when the pub was less well known but feel now it is popular the landlords are trying to milk the market as this pub used to provide consistently good food.

Stopped here for dinner as we were staying locally for the night. We were not disappointed! Lovely country pub, we couldn't fault it. The food was tasty and excellently presented. Smart pub, seems to be good place to eat. I was not eating but still made to feel welcome. Has a couple of real ales. You MUST take a look out back by the smoking area. Sandstone caves. Landlord supplies a torch to explore inside. Amazing! Wasn't expecting it at all. Would make a great Santa's grotto! Would definitely go back again after my walk along leapgate railway walk.

Cracking list of cask beers and great staff

This pub used to be owned by my great, great, grandfather which made it really special. The coolest thing was seeing his initials carved in the caves that are adjacent to the pub. The caves actually lead to a tunnel that goes to Hartlebury Castle. How cool is that? The owners have made an outdoor patio area across the street on the riverbank to enjoy the summer days and evenings.

A little gem....From the outside you would probably walk away, on the road and therefore looks unkempt. However we opened the door to a roaring fire, lovely atmosphere and a fabulous service. We had Steak and Stilton ie and "proper" chips. Our friends had 8oz Sirlon Steaks, which were cooked to perfection and were the best they had had Ina long time. The young lady that served us was so helpful. We'll be calling again soon. Thank you.
