First time in , beers cold, good service it looks like a big boozer in a cozy plot, up the now it's superb....,

We have been coming to this pub for many years, with or without our children. Today we were told that our five year old son was not allowed to ride his bike in the outside area which he has done since he was two.. Whilst we understand health and safety, when did this family estate pub stop being child friendly? We were told to read the sign, which clearly states.. No bikes, no balls and no skateboards.. Happy children, happy parents! 🥰

Ben and the team are a wonderful bunch! I tend to only pop in when in need of a friend and a rant! Drinks are always great and only had food on delivery (I don't like burgers so I'm limited but what I have is lovely) it's great to have a space that is safe and welcoming! Great supportive bunch! If I had more free time I'd definitely attend more often!

Initially enquired about booking a table, tried to phone twice but no answer. Tried to message but no answer. Called again and booked. Came in on the day and they had no idea of a booking. We'd decided to try here after reading the menus online. Had not previously visited. My son had to go & ask for menus...he was given a sheet of white paper with some dishes on it. We asked where the other items were which are shown online to be told that there were no other choices. Compared to what we had seen online there was probably about 70% of the dishes missing from the paper menu. We would not have booked if we had known this beforehand. Saying that, the meals were very nice. Service took a long time and it's not really a sit down quiet meal pub it's more of a drinkers pub. We had a nice evening but it was very loud and not what we had initially expected. Not sure if the menu was smaller due to being the week before Christnas or whether the online website is very outdated.

Went in for a quick bite to eat and found the Food was excellent & beer good,pub clean & staff friendly,lots of parking spaces.Well worth a visit something on every night!

Good atmosphere for the quiz night (came with a friend) but unfortunately I had hunters chicken and contracted food poisoning. My friend had a cheeseburger and was ok. In response to the comment back about your procedures if the chicken is off it doesn't matter how well it's cooked it can make you Ill. It's ok I won't be coming back again.

When i came on bens pride event, even as a young lad i instantly noticed how much of a positive effect this had on the community. It is nice to see this pub have an entertaining night which the community can go to and nice to finally see our local pub put in some effort.

Having worked in hospitality for 15 Years I know what to expect from different establishments, when I visited for a lunch I was greeted and served by the staff who were all very friendly, the drinks were as they should be and the value for money and quality of the meals were exceptional. I would like to point out to anyone reading this that this is a community pub and puts on many events weekly for the community and the staff are trained properly to enhance any visit. Please bear in mind that the pub industry is still in recovery from Covid......however, this one is steaming ahead with it's food offering, many varied events, value for money all around, atmosphere and genuine welcoming staff. Highly recommend to all as long as you remember that it's not Michelin stared, it's good quality pub fayre verging on restaurant quality. A repeat visitor that will keep visiting!

If I could give it zero I would first time here today to try asked for a menu told only had one didn't know where it was do they want customers or not

Wouldn't come again personally. Group of elderly males and females with some sat vaping in the pub next to me and my 2 year old. Food was disappointing. My sons bolognese tasted like a microwave one and my meatballs tasted like cheap frozen ones. I wouldn't have minded so much but I waited 35 minutes for my food to come out when we were one of 2 tables who had ordered food. It may just be a one off but from comments I overheard from the other table it wasn't. Only reason I've given it 3 stars is because the gent that served us was fab.

Wow! The staff went above and beyond and they were soooo nice. Not been here in a few years and it's most definitely changed for the better. Rather busy but not overly so, really good atmosphere, I'll have to go back when they have entertainment on.

Me and my partner went for Mother’s Day I booked through Facebook messenger for 1.30 pm also said I was gluten free. We arrived and our reservation wasn’t in the diary they said we could still have lunch although as it would need to be cooked fresh being gluten free, we waited 1 hour and 15 minutes. The roast wasn’t very nice. My gravy was lumpy, the parsnips were cremated and the beef was fatty. My partner’s gravy was watery, both of our vegetables were hard and my partners chicken was not very nice very disappointing as have had good meals previously. Told the lady that it wasn’t very nice she didn’t apologise or anything

Don't be put off by the exterior! Yes, it's dated. Yes, the carpark needs resurfacing but once you get inside you forget that. The staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome. The menu is extensive and the food very good. We will be back.

This place is hands down the best of the best in Kidderminster. I have been coming here for years however times have changed and now the customers and staff alike are all one giant big family. Staff as re amazing and attentive, the food is incredible and fresh and the entertainment is always great! Keep up the great work!!

Absolutely fantastic meal here a few weeks ago. The new menu is really good, with plenty of choice for everyone. I chose the chilli salmon and really enjoyed it. The halloumi fries were the best I've ever eaten. The Cavalier has changed hands a few times over the years, but I really think it's the best it's ever been now that Ben has taken over. It's really welcoming and a great pub for a family meal or local night out with friends.

What a wonderful surprise, a truly hidden gem in Kidderminster. The food was absolutely fantastic. Delicious and very well presented starters and the mains were fit for a King's banquette. I'll be back definitely and without a doubt.

I have been going to the Cavalier pub almost since it was first opened about 50 years ago. Like most pubs it’s had a really chequered history and until fairly recently had hit a real low. I’d heard that a new owner/chef had taken over in the last year or so and that it was much improved so I decided to give it a go. From the outside the pub has definitely seen better days (even the owner said it looked like somewhere out of Shameless!) but PLEASE PLEASE don’t let this put you off! The clientele are a mixed bunch, many from the surrounding estates. I visited with my nephew. The menu was extensive and reasonably priced. I started with halloumi chips with a sweet chilli sauce-served fresh, baking hot and delicious. My nephew had a mushroom and blue cheese starter which was also very tasty. For our main course we both plumped for pork belly. It was served with dauphinois potatoes and fresh green beans. It was outstanding. Both of us have eaten the same dish in high class restaurants at twice the price and they’ve not been a patch on the one served up at the Cavalier. The service is somewhat slow- why? Because everything is cooked freshly to order- no ready made microwaved meals here! And the dishes certainly proved worth the wait! The staff, including Ben the chef/owner, were attentive ensuring that we had everything we needed and that the food was satisfactory (it was much more than satisfactory!). The only gripe I had was that on the whole the dessert are brought in. Ben who is totally self- taught said desserts weren’t his fortitude so I told him that given I love puddings that he better start practising!!! As it happened I was far too full up to manage a dessert anyway! Without a doubt the Cavalier is set to be one of my favourite local eateries in future!

Ben said he could make any item on the menu ‘vegan friendly’ and we were not disappointed! We ordered the ‘chicken’ mushroom and onion ciabatta with chips and even had a choice of vegan desserts!! Thank you to Ben and his team for being so accommodating. We will definitely be ordering again. 👍🏻

Lovely meal staff very friendly and welcoming

Had a fabulous meal here with all the family, as a pre-Christmas treat. From the moment we arrived, Ben and his team made us very welcome and the table was perfectly set for our celebration. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, excellent quality and value. Will definitely be coming back and can't recommend highly enough. Well I've been back a few times since writing the above, and I'm still impressed! Ben has got a great team, and really fantastic pub. *Update* Gone again tonight for a meal and the food was outstanding again! We went all out with having 3 courses each and it was worth only having a salad at lunchtime to be able to feast this evening! Food was hot, well presented and delicious. I can't recommend The Cavalier highly enough.

We went to try the new Menu yesterday and it was fabulous, so much choice and excellent food.. Piping hot, and very tasty... As usual staff brilliant, would certainly recommend giving it a try.

We saw the new menu launch on Facebook, and as we both finished work late, we decided to pop in and see if food was still being served. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and a decent beer. The dishes we tried were excellent and can only assume the rest of the menu will be also and reasonably priced all good news as we only live round the corner. Thank you

Ate here with a fairly large group today, first time eating here, we all had dofferent meals, loaded fries, burger, mixed grill, fajitas and more, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the service was also very good, lovely people. Will definitely be going back!

Myself and my Husband decided to eat out on Christmas day this year, we booked a table at the Cavalier. On arrival we were made very welcome staff were lovely. The food was delicious, it was all home made and plentyful.staff made sure our Christmas day happy and couldn't do enough to ensure we had everything we wanted.

Very welcoming Pub, Ben has done a great job since taking this place on, been and ate numourous times in the past six months. Arguably the best pub in kidderminster nowadays.

I received a warm welcome from the staff and the manager of the pub on entry, and was seated to a table and offered drinks. The food was lovely and I was recommended suitable drinks to go with my meal. The service was fast and polite. Overall, my experience was exceptional and I would recommend the Cavalier to anyone who is looking for a lovely meal in an environment you can feel comfortable 👍🏼 😊

Having forgot to take the stuff out of the freezer on Saturday for my Sunday Lunch, I decided i would try to order a Sunday lunch at noon on Sunday for delivery! I wasnt very hopeful to find anything but came across The Cavalier on Deliveroo so thought i'd give it a go. The meal was delivered to me just before 1pm and it was still hot, just at the right temperature to tuck in straight away. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite, the beef was cooked perfectly, the veg was just right, not raw or mushy and the gravy was devine. To say I was pleased with what I had just consumed was an understatement. I will definantley be using them again 101% Thank you to the team at the Cavalier and also the kitchen staff.

I've been to many pub diners as one might say but definitely didn't expect the experience me and my family had this afternoon. Service was great and food was exceptional. Portion was more than expected and tastes amazing.. if you find yourself local to this place then definitely give it a try as I have been passing this place for over 4 years and never gave it a chance but very glad I did.
