We visited this morning for breakfast. We ordered 1 egg & bacon sandwich, 3 croissants, a tea, hot chocolate and an orange juice. It cost £17.40. The drinks came out quite quickly which was fine. We then waited nearly 30 mins for the sandwich and 3 croissants! The sandwich came out toasted for some reason. I said I would eat it so don’t worry after she blankly at me. It took another 16 mins for the croissants to arrive. Now fair enough we did ask for 2 of them to be warmed up, but when 2 came out warmed up and no sign of the other one for yet another 10 mins. My husband politely asked her why it was taking so long for the last croissant to come out. Her answer was I wanted all the food to come out at once (failed at that one)!! She then said with a total attitude “ I’ve only got one pair of hands you know”. She then came back and chucked the plate on the table and walked off!!! If they don’t want to be a cafe then don’t be. Save your attitude and comments to yourselves! The customer isn’t always right. But when you get attitude and a stupid waiting time and then the order is wrong. Politeness never hurts from the staff! When the locals tell you to avoid the place your best off listening to them! Oh well lesson learned!!!

Rowan is our local Garden Centre and we visit often to buy good quality plants, garden furniture and gifts. They have recently built a new cafe, which looks lovely, but unfortunately does not allow customers to sit inside if they are accompanied by their dog. There are a number of tables outside, but only a few are positioned in the sun and there is no outside heating provided. They do offer a few blankets for customers to use, but there are not enough to go round. Sadly there have been a number of occasions when my partner and myself have walked to Rowan with our dog, hoping to stop for coffee or lunch, only to leave feeling disappointed as no suitable seating has been available…..as happened this morning - the sun was shining, but all the tables receiving it’s warmth had been taken (mainly by customers without a dog) and it was simply too cold to sit under the shelter. Inside the cafe were many empty tables which were useless for us as we were not allowed to sit there with our well behaved Labrador. Such a shame.

Worth Valley scooter club. Had our Xmas meal at the 3 Horses. 31 uf us. Had to pre order the meal. We had the choice of the festive menu + the normal menu. Which worked fantastic. No complaints about the food at all. Great service. Food was piping hot and really tasty. Thanks very much to the staff who made it a great night, from all at Worth Valley scooter club.

Popped into the takeaway one on cheepside on mon 5th of feb around 12.50 as had an appointment at 2pm and wanted a quick snack. When I walked in the guy behind the counter was serving someone with a big order, there was nobody else in apart from me. When the big order had left he came to me and asked me what I wanted. I said a cone of chips and he said 1.60 please. He took a 2 pound coin off me, gave me 40p back and then disappeared in the back. I thought he was waiting for fresh chips but then 2 teenagers came in and he served them with chips! I was just about to ask if he had forgotten my order when my phone rang. The guy came back to me and I put my hand up to indicate I was on the phone. When I ended the call he asked me what I wanted! I said I'm still waiting for my cone of chips! He got the chips, handed them to me and said that's 1.60! Unbelievable, the guy needs to attend a memory clinic! He actually accused me of not paying! Won't be calling there again anytime soon!

I was last here 25 years ago, and I have to say that yesterday's visit was fairly disappointing. The car park has room for around 40 cars and access is good. Paths are well maintained and there are a few benches and a good number of spots to sit for a picnic. Generally visitors seemed to be taking their rubbish away responsibly. It is promoted as containing rare chalk grassland species. However, the entire area which we walked on was almost entirely overgrown with dense tussocks of coarse grasses, thistles and plantains. The only obvious chalk grassland species visible was crosswort. There are cultivated fields uphill to the North and East which are probably fertilized and leaching nutrients onto the reserve. The only saving grace was the bird life. We saw a good number of meadow pipits, linnets and yellowhammers. We said that we would give it one last chance in about a month's time, so I will edit this review then...

Had seen adverts for The Cheese Shed and liking cheese wanted to know what it was like. It is a very large barn, set up with tables & chairs inside with a small shop, and service area for getting food (they only do The Toastie £6.95) & soup, Smoothies & hot drinks. The Toastie is just a cheese Toastie made with cheese they make on site, it was very nice, gooey, you don’t get a choice of cheese in it or what type of bread but it was simple and tasted good. There is a large seating area outside the barn with a few children’s activities again simple but ok if the weather is good. They have a large car park area well marked out, as I think it could be busy at times, entrance is at the Benson end of Nettlebed, seemed as if we were going into a farm yard. The toilets are only portable ones don’t know if there is plans to put in permanent ones. Dogs are welcome but there were no signs of any ‘poo bins’ around which might have been good, but again someone would have to pay for them to be emptied. I would go back.

We've been here numerous times, it's our goto date night place😁, always a warm welcome from Anna and Alan, really good home made food, great atmosphere, nothing is too much trouble. The log burner in the lounge is comforting in the winter months after a dog walk(behaved dogs welcome). You leave feeling you've made new friends, highly recommend

Booked as going to watch the cricket at Headingley, ideal spot, free parking, managed to check in before the game started. Room was spotlessly clean with en suite bathroom , shower over the bath in our room, not sure if any rooms ave have walk in type showers. We stayed as room only, but did sit outside and have coffee before we left to ho out for breakfast so cannot comment on food. The staff we met all lovely and helpful, reasonable rates, job done.
