Went here with my friend and could not believe the amount of dogs that were in there. We went for quiet breakfast and catch up. Instead we walked into a dog's cafe. There was barking and dogs all over the place which were not trained properly by the owners. One dog came up to our table and frightened me. One woman walked in with 3 dogs! I won't be going back. I will stick to More Coffee Co across the road. Please avoid this Caffe Nero if you want a quiet drink with your friends/family without dogs everywhere.

My wife and I called in fo a coffee and snack today , the young lady who served me was very pleasant. Two tables we we went to sit at were filthy and the floor not much better. For the second time in 8 days ,there has been no serviettes at the condiment station , and always the same manager in charge. What they want to observe is the new Coffee shop due to open opposite in the near future

I needed the loo badly, the young girl must have sensed my discomfort and directed me to the nearest one. It was the first time I felt that I was welcomed vas I passed the counter. Thank you for that,. I had a small americano with an extra shot, It was the most excellent coffee. I thank the barista, you are indeed skilled.

Stopped for a warm drink on a cold day and chose here because they allow dogs. Staff very friendly and service was quick. Could do with cleaning the tables/floor more regularly and the chairs at the back of the room need to be repaired or chucked as a spring had gone in one and the arm of another was falling apart.

We have for years visited this branch of Cafe Nero, hot drinks and nice treats. However for the last couple of years my friends and I always say how it could do with some refurbishment, the decor is very tired and looks a bit dirty. But my biggest gripe bar far is the toilet..... in this Covid aware time why is the toilet so dirty? It has a checked by staff list but what are they actually checking? Now there is only one toilet to use there is absolutely no excuse. Deep clean the whole cubicle please!

This cafe Nero is neither better or worse than any other you would experience around England. I find the staff, generally, exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Yes they may have off days but then wouldn’t you serving coffee to some of the Melton inhabitants.? I think it is charming that dogs are allowed in, it is their owners who are responsible for their behaviour, not CAFE NERO staff. They serve the coffee and food allocated to them by Cafe Nero headquarters and I think they do an excellent job. As far as the toilets are concerned, in this day and age when we are all concerned about Coronavirus , the toilet door handle does not have a knob to let you out, you can just push it with your elbow !

I’m not a great fan of this Caffè Nero (I much prefer Caffe Italia across the road) but it being a Sunday there wasn’t much choice. The coffee was average as usual and I’m not over-keen at being called ‘mate’ by the staff. However the worst thing was the dogs, with one being allowed to sit on a chair and then a sofa and putting its paws and mouth on a table. Admittedly this is down to bad and over-indulgent owners but there’s a serious health issue here that needs to be addressed by the manager and his team.

Cafe Nero was the first of the coffee chains to open in Melton Mowbray, several years ago. In common with most Cafe Neros I've visited, this branch is looking its age. Generally it is busy at most times, though I cannot fathom why. It's grubby, tables are never cleared and the upstairs toilet facilities are grimy and dingy. It could well do with a refurb to bring it up to standard. If you love coffee, better go to Costa a few doors along on the town's market square or even Off The Beaten Path tucked away opposite The Mall shopping centre.

These Caffe Nero branches are part of a chain so you'd think that all the important decisions are taken at headquarters, after which nothing much can go wrong, right? Wrong. No doubt the quality of the coffee is out of the hands of branch staff but someone ought to get out and taste what's on offer elsewhere. Here, there's only one flavour and it's burnt. No depth, no layers, no subtleties, no nuances, no richness, no nutty-almondy-caramel, pretty much nothing except for burntness. It might very well be acceptable for some, but for me you can do far better not far away. Also, when I'm being served, I hope to be engaged by the person serving me, even smiled at if I'm lucky. After all, I'm polite and smiling to them, so I don't enjoy being largely ignored, scowled at and made to feel as though I'm interrupting something far more important. They're attitude is lazy and they need some customer service training. Coffee cup and milk pot both full to the brim doesn't help. Still, it's their floor they've had to mop up. Turn down the music a bit too, or play something that's not a cross between bluegrass and southern gothic. If the guv'ners in charge here ever get to read the reviews, and if they take anything away from this, it should be that it's always about small margins in a tight and crowded marketplace. Here, they're just miles off.

I always visit Nero's for a tea as they are reasonably price and serve a hot beverage, unlike some other coffee chains who will serve up a luke warm, half foam cup of nothing!Great loyalty scheme of a free hot drink after collecting so many stamps and this can also be done via the app. The also accept Apple Pay and contactless payments, which is a small be great bonus. They also accept well behaved dogs.

Do not be fooled if you come across anything saying Melton Mowbray is the most dog friendly town 2017 - it really is not. After trudging around in the freezing cold and finding nowhere to get a hot drink (apart from one other place we could have sat outside) we were overjoyed to find that we were welcomed at cafe Nero with our four legged friend.

This is not quite as nice as my regular place (Market Harborough) but of course the coffee is the same. The reason I like chain coffee shops is the consistency - you never get nasty coffee just because the owner is too mean to use sufficient beans, which is a common problem with independents. Melton centre is really dreary and run down nowadays.

The coffee in any Nero's is usually to my liking and this is no exception. Cakes and biscuits are very tasty but very poor VFM. Service is friendly. Always busy, not long queues, just slow moving. Tables are at a premium but usually at least one available although they are always in need of clearing. Perhaps the baristas slow down until they see a table about to be vacated ! My wife's favourite coffee shop in town, not mine, but I don't mind going there.

Visited nero's for a quick take away coffee at 4.30pm, two girls behind the counter, washing up every where. I waited for 10mins whilst the barista was chatting to the customer in front of me whilst the other girl was clearing up, there were at least 5 people waiting behind me, I asked the girl who was not chatting if she could serve, only to be told by Jessica that she was clearing. I asked if the washing up was as important as the washing up, to which she replied yes.Overall very poor service, with lots of attitude. I suggest you go 4 doors down to Costa coffee - much better service and staff

I only came here as we were visiting relatives, and there was a large group, but the people we were visiting decided to treat us to a coffee here, and I suppose it would have been rude to refuse to sit down with them!!! The whole experience, as anticipated, was rubbish. Dreadful coffee, overpriced food, of which I had none, and a poor atmosphere with lots of dregs of Melton mowbray Society doing their best to lower the tones. The sad thing is that there were plenty of much nicer looking coffee shops, no doubt selling better coffee at a cheaper price to boot. Generally, only people who are brainwashed to only buy from chain shops would come here. Why else would you???

Call me a leprechaun and get me a pot because ive found gold. What a pub! Every village pub has its uniquity but this one has knocked them out the park. Inside a stunning building is one of the friendliest places ive been to. The staff (Chloe in particular) were so welcoming they made mother Teresa look like Pol Pot. I have no doubt this pub has been around for 2 millenia, because if jesus was to have a ‘last supper’ it mustve been here. The chefs worked a miracle in that kitchen. If my girlfriend wasnt there to tell me off for bad manners i wouldve licked the plate clean. Every local to Waltham on the Wolds should feel privileged to have this at your doorstep. Bloody brilliant

I visited Stapleford Park with a family group - my wife, son and girlfriend and my father-in law and his wife. We wanted to celebrate my son’s girlfriend’s birthday with a special occasion visit because, being Australian, she relished the idea of doing something typically English. The venue itself is undoubtedly impressive, but the afternoon tea experience was very disappointing. On arrival there was no proper welcome from any member of staff engaged in afternoon tea service. We were shown to our table and given a briefing from a senior staff member. After this, the level of service was virtually non-existent. Nobody asked whether everything was OK, whether more or any different teas were required. Amazingly, for this type of event, only one type of tea per person was offered. The sandwiches were unappetising, and cakes decidedly unimpressive. My father-in-law who is 98 went to the bar to settle the bill, and it was only a few days later that he showed us he’d been charged 6 x £41, plus a service charge of £30. He wasn’t told about the service charge when paying. We were outraged at the underhand way this charge had been levied, and also the fact that there was no relationship between the charge and the poor service we had received. The service charge was later refunded following a phone call by my wife. There are obvious signs of weak management and poor staff training here. Avoid if you’re looking for a more rewarding experience.
