Just had some of the best food I have had in ages. I notice elsewhere that some people find the menu a bit different from what they expect - which is a wonderful choice of starters, small plates and mains. Not the place to go if all you want is fish or steak and chips - though both are excellent. 5 Stars

Extremely poor service with the interval between first and main course being close to one hour; when the food finally arrived it was almost cold. It appears to have forgotten that the purpose of a restaurant is to serve food!

Stayed here for two nights. Our room booking stated river views but our room did not have river views. When we asked about it we were told thats the description of all the rooms but it depends which room you get. No manager available to ask. The breakfast which was included was nice but we had to pay extra for tea, coffee, juice which we have never heard of before. I thought that was out of order not being part of the breakfast. They could not accommodate my partner with scrambled egg instead of fried as he doesn't like fried bread. Said it would cost extra because of more eggs. We had to ask for a hand towel in the bathroom as there wasn't one. Partner enjoyed his burger but there was nothing extra in it like lettuce/tomato which was odd. Prob wouldn't stay here again.

Very strange menu. It was an elimination process rather than a choice. The fish portion was minute and tasteless. Very disappointing experience

Service poor, had to keep reminding staff that we needed glasses, had ordered bread etc. Only coffee is in a french press. Most of mains for 2 only, we were 3 meat eaters. We had a vegetarian with us - gnocchi the only main - really?! Some signs of genius in the beef pain perdu and puddings but not worth rushing to.

Really good food, pleasant service and good value for the quality. Music could be queter but maybe that is an age issue! Wine list isn't great and not cheap. But we will return...

Great Sunday lunch for our table of seven, with little dog. All food super tasty from roast beef, served pink, to fish and chips. Lovely service, too, from young, chestnut-haired lady with spectacles. Lots of families eating, the pub is spotlessly clean and next to the Thames, a perfect venue when visiting Mudchute Farm.

The welcome was warm in the Waterman Arms on a cold rainy December morning. Tea in pots, orange juice, full English breakfast with sourdough bread and a good choice on the menu for vegetarians and vegans. A perfect antidote to the awful weather. Lovely staff, clean and great breakfast! A short stroll from Island Gardens DLR - just walk towards the church spire. This landmark pub is worth a trip, renovated with open fires oozing with old charm. Right beside the Thames Path an easy walk to understand London, Docklands and the men and women who lived and worked there.

I've now sampled the delights of their kitchens twice - one Sunday lunch and a mid-week dinner and I'm evangelical about the place. Warm welcome, just the right level of lighting and music and a truly original selection of culinary treats. The carnivores loved their pork collar while my wife and I shared a generous brill. No idea what the sauce was but we spooned every last drop over the perfectly-cooked fish. When we were struggling with a place to put the large backbone, a girl at the next table got up and produced a plate for us - turned out she works there and had chosen to eat there on her night off. I consider that a huge endorsement, as well as underlining a brilliant staff attitude. How refreshing to sample veg I'd never come across before: braised greens with preserved lemon. And along with all the clever suff, the chips were just perfect too. An unfussy treasure trove for foodies.

We ordered the Smash Burger with Bone Marrow Mayo and the Fish and Chips, both of which were delicious. I opted for chunky chips instead of fries, hoping they would be really tasty, and they turned out to be the best chunky chips I have ever eaten. They were extra crispy on the outside but like mash in the middle. Amazing! The staff we encountered were welcoming, friendly and provided a quick service. The facilities were kept absolutely spotless - no sticky tables or messy bathrooms!

Visited here recently. We had been to the old Waterman's arms but this is very different. Firstly the food was good, tasted really good and there was little complaints about it. However the portion sizes are really small and the price points are just not right - expensive for what you get. This includes the wine menu, which is just strange from a price point perspective. Service is also pretty laid-back. One of our starters came out by itself. When we asked where the others were, the comment was 'starters don't come out together ', which I have never heard. So we had to send the one that did come out back. Overall probably not worth the visit

Stayed the night to attend a gig at the O2 and a great location. A few minutes walk to the Island Gardens station or if heading across the Thames via the Greenwich foot tunnel. Lovely room with a really comfortable bed. Friendly staff and an amazing price for London. Took an hour to walk back from the O2 wouldn’t do it on my own this way but there were a few of us so was fine. A residential area so quiet and nicely away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas

At last a pub which is centred around food of variety and quality. We had a fabulous dinner and hope to have many more meals there. There are now two pubs in Barnes which offer very good food- I do hope the others can learn from the Seder and follow.

We stayed here on a Friday night as we were looking to paddle the Thames to Greenwich and then the following morning further down the Thames. The pub is right next to a slipway to get on to the Thames which makes it an ideal launch point. They were very helpful in storing the boats inside the bar which was a first and very kind of them. Food and service was excellent.

A Big Old Boozer that has managed the change to a Bijou Boutique Gastro-pub Hotel with 7 rooms. Close enough to O2 for a stay when seeing a concert. Friendly colleagues who work as a team to look after you Had an early Dinner and it was great. Bone marrow mayonnaise, "Who knew?" Breakfast available till noon. Do not let this one slip by you. Hotel is right on the river BTW.

Third time in 4 visits they cannot get reserve a table correctly Not difficult we call you reserve but seems to be too difficult for the manageress …..said we don’t have a record…..we have the call record here on the phone is this your number ?? Don’t worry we will not trouble you again in the future many other good places to spend money in.

Stunning lunch today with my daughter. One of the most exquisite burgers I've ever had. Lovely staff, great service, a thoroughly enjoyable meal.

Having seen it was under new management we visited as we are local & had been unimpressed with it previously so were keen to see what it was like now. Sadly very little difference, one thing though it is much cleaner than it had been previously but the food menu was almost the same as we remembered from previous visits & the lack of customers does not make for a great atmosphere (on a Friday evening). Nevertheless we ordered food and it was really unimpressive, a shame as the local area could do with a decent pub but we won't be returning.

The Watermans Arms was conveniently situated for us to visit our grandson on The Isle of Dogs. The bedrooms & en suites had recently been refurbished to a very good standard. Our room with a small balcony was at the front, we thought we may have a problem with noise as there was no double glazing. But we shouldn’t have worried because it was amazingly quiet…… we couldn’t believe we were in London. The room wasn’t huge but it was comfortable & suited our needs & the en suite was lovely. It is close to the Thames, Island Gardens D.L.R. Station & a short walk takes you to a large park & Mudchute farm. An excellent place to spend an hour or two…….. and it is FREE. We stayed at the pub for two nights & hoped to return in September but ,unfortunately, it is full !😟
