I dined yesterday evening with my family and Ellyes was our waiter, he was so attentive and very kind! Knew the menu very well and was able to help my brother with some dietary restrictions. He had great recommendations regarding drinks and food. We will absolutely be back!

When this was 'The Narrow' it was great, used to go 3 or 4 times a year, bearing in mind we have lived in limehouse for 15 years. Since the rebrand it has been very hit and miss. But our lastest outing will sadly be the last. Booked a table for 5pm, arrived early for a pre drink. Ushered to our table quite rudely saying we had it till 6:30 even though the website says 2 hours. Food didn't arrive until 6 and half of it was missing. Bought an expensive bottle of champagne, no one came to top up our glasses or check on us at all. Food was sub par for the price. Would have been better going to the local Greene king pub. Definitely style over substance now, average pub food for the Gordon Ramsay price! Oh and after we left at 6:40, 10 mins over, there was no one waiting for our table, the place was half empty. Our bill was subsidised as half of it didn't turn up and we didn't pay service (as there was none) but still expensive for what we got! Thoroughly disappointed 😞

Found Bread Street Kitchen & Bar (Limehouse) through a YouTube video and had to try the Beef Wellington. It was rich, filling, and worth every penny. We shared the meatballs (moist and flavorful), a fresh side salad with pomegranate seeds, and the Wellington for two. Service was great. Just note it takes about 45–50 minutes to prepare—but totally worth the wait.

Thank you for such a delightful culinary and celebratory experience! I thoroughly enjoyed myself! You know that feeling when a mouthful of delicious food is so tasty the you squeeze your toes in your shoes?? Well I had that feeling and I couldn’t stop smiling! The perfect birthday meal for me AND I got my off-menu Cosmopolitan, made the RIGHT way ( with Cointreau and NOT Triple Sec haha!!) And the service? With the professional and conversational Ellyes, I was in great hands. He informatively answered all my questions, had great timing on when to attend the table, bring out the next course and when to give breathing room to enjoy the ambience. He was attentive, kind and efficient. Thank you Ellyes for such great service. Clearly an asset to the restaurant! Overall, I left a very happy bunny indeed and I’ll definitely be back another time. Oh and a nod to the location…. quite mesmerising to be so near to the water and those amazing views across the River Thames. Well done everyone!

After shuttering The Narrow, you gave it the full works: a refurb, a rebrand, a glitzy new name. Gordon’s Bread Street Kitchen Limehouse looked the part - sleek, modern, full of promise. But sadly, it’s déjà vu. The same old problems have crept back in: eye-watering prices (£37 for a 500ml carafe of Chardonnay? Around a 6x mark-up on even supermarket RRP - criminal), service that veers from disinterested to downright fed-up, and food that continues to underwhelm. How are we still getting the famous Ramsay burger wrong after all these years? You’ve poured a lot of gloss on it, but the substance just isn’t there. Feels like we’re on track for another closure just with shinier cutlery.

We ordered for delivery and everything came pretty fast (within 15 minutes). The fish and chips were still hot; was well seasoned but not mind blowing. The sticky toffee was also warm and pretty good. My biggest complaint - WHY WAS THE MAC &CHEESE COLD?! I’ve only seen it cold as a left over and not a fresh dish. It was in the same bag as the sticky toffee, which kept warm, so clearly it didn’t cool down rapidly because of the delivery. If that’s the restaurant preferred serve option, I wish there was an option for customers to choose whether they want it hot or cold.

The experience was disappointing from the start. It was immediately clear that the restaurant was understaffed—no one greeted us at the entrance or inquired about our reservation. Although we had booked a table for 7:45, our reservation didn't appear to be in the system at first. Even once it was located, we still had to wait for our table to be emptied and prepared, despite several empty ones being visible. Additionally, we had to ask multiple times for the air conditioning to be turned down, which was frustrating. We paid the 15% service charge just because the waiter serving us was really kind. Cannot say the same about the restaurant manager.

This was very disappointing. The place was beautiful but not very busy and the staff was not very attentive. Took over an hour and a half from when we arrived to get our food, and when it arrived it was mediocre. My friends steak was very undercooked, we complained and the new was was still undercooked. Would not recommend. Way over priced for the quality of food.

Gordon Ramsay should feature this Resturant kitchen nightmares… First, the food took an hour and a half to come to the table after. Second, I ordered a steak and it was undercooked- I had to send it back. Third, they got my drink order wrong. Lastly, they charged me extra for a sauce that was originally expressed as “included”. Used our virgin experience voucher for the set menu here. We were told after about 10 mins when ordering that there was no steak. Unfortunately there was no other meat option offered so we requested a steak off the main menu and would pay extra. From ordering and receiving the food was a wait, but it felt more like the place was short staffed rather than just being slow as all of the staff were working flat out to accommodate everyone. The location and food was excellent. Yes we had to wait for it (so if you are in a rush this place might not be for you.) But it was worth it when the food arrived, and the staff offered us some discount for the lack in service, so to me that's fair and they had redeemed themselves. I would recommend this place. Yes it has got Gordon Ramseys name on it, but it's just a restaurant like all the others. The service staff and chef did their best and it was a great experience, which to me is very important. Chicken wings were good, steak excellent and it was the best chocolate brownie I've ever had. We will return next time we revisit London. (Sorry I have no pictures of food as I scoffed it!)

Food: not being a fan of fish and chips, I thought a Gordon Ramsey’s version should be outstanding but I was wrong. The same plain taste as in any other place. GLORIFIED WEATHERSPOONS Came here at 7pm on Friday 17th January, only a couple of tables. The place slowly started to fill up and still 3 members of staff serving. The poor staff was rushing around trying to work as quickly as possible. It's understaffed, especially for the price of the food and drinks that they were charging. We ordered 3 starters, chicken wings were bit overcooked and under flavoured. Fried calamari were tiny portion and the cod bites were the better one out of the three. My partner had the chicken curry, which came with 2 pieces of small naan bread, it tasted like the ones you would get from the supermarket. I've had the steak and fries, and the steak was tasty and cooked well. However there were no sauces offered. Forgot to take pictures of the mains, as it took a while to come and was too hungry by then. We ordered the salted caramel brownie with ice-cream, it arrived really quickly, but then waiter realised he made a mistake with something. He immediately took it away and after waiting for more than 10 minutes, it hasn't came back, so we decided to cancel the dessert and pay the bill. Even trying to get their attention to get the bill was near impossible, so after another 10 minutes. I just lost my patience of waiting and walked to the lady and asked for the bill. It does offer a nice river view of Canary Wharf and Rotherhithe. But still I won't come back, as it's just simply a "Glorified Weatherspoon with a view"

Visit February 14 for Valentines Day. Very beautiful decor, the restaurant being on the banks of the Thames. Warm welcome, tasteful decoration too bad the waiter forgot our aperitif.. we got the dishes straight away.. Bourde was well "caught" by one of the managers who kindly offered us two glasses of wine. Apart from this small problem, good service. We had the butter chicken and the mushroom canelonni. It was incredibly good. The butter chicken is strongly spicy just the way I like it. The cannelloni are deliciously made. Small disappointment with the desserts. 4 à la carte desserts including 3 ice creams. We're not big fans of ice cream. Especially in February at 3 degrees outside. I recommend this restaurant for a romantic evening on the banks of the Thames.

Passed this pearl on a day out taking in the sights in London. Fairly priced for a Ramsay restaurant, so the lads decided to fill our hunger with a riverside view. The portions were a bit too big for our danish appetites (only 2/6 finished their portions), but the atmosphere was great and the food delicious. Me and my husband booked Bread Street Kitchen for new years eve and were very excited! The location is lovely and it has a very cozy atmosphere. When we arrived we asked if we could sit on the terrace and the server kindly said she would check if there was space. In the meantime we took a seat at the bar to get a drink. We sat there for between 5 - 7 minutes and there was only one bartender working (odd for new years eve). He did not ask what we would like to drink until our server came to take us to our table. We managed to order 2 pints and were told these would be delivered to our table. After we sat down our server came up to us after a few minutes and asked what we would like to drink. We mentioned we had already ordered at the bar but our drinks had not arrived yet. Her response was to say it was a busy night. I don't think this is acceptable on new years when it is clearly due to a failure to plan properly. 2 pints should not take 10 minutes to recieve. We then ordered a bottle of wine but our food arrived before the wine and we had to mention it a second time to our server before it arrived. The women's toilet also completely ran out of toilet paper and I had to go to a server and ask for toilet paper. I was then handed a roll and took it to the toilet myself. The food was fine, but when you charge nearly £30 for a burger I expect the service to be better. It was also new years eve and it didn't seem like any additional effort had been made. Would not return.

Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmare - went to the Limehouse restaurant for our compact Christmas party on Friday afternoon. Seemed to us like that had ran out of the steam from the day before and didn’t seem interested in looking after us. Poor wine selection with desired options not available. The ones that were available had low stock. One of our party is coeliac but when asked for a gluten free menu this wasn’t available. Instead the server ‘well you can have this without this’ etc etc. Not good enough. We ordered two steaks that were served to the wrong people. Sides that came out late and generally the wait staff did not seem interested in the slightest. To top it off at the end of the evening we asked for 8 Baby Guinness to only be told that they had run out of Kahlua. Really not a good experience for a restaurant carrying such a good reputation and name.

The location is great, some of the food was good but overall super underwhelming. I had the famous Ramsay Beef Wellington and found it quite bland (not sure if they even wrapped it in prosciutto/parma ham, but it could just be their recipe). I found that the calamari was pretty soggy despite being one of my favourite starters. The scotch egg and desserts were good (had the brownie and sticky toffee pudding) so no complaints there. It ending up costing just under £180 for two of us for 2 starters, shared main for 2 and 2 desserts, no alcohol. This was the cost after I noticed that I was accidentally charged an extra £10 for the beef wellington (initially charged £120). Our bill also included a 15% gratuity, which I thought was a bit outrageous as we're not Yanks. Even though it's "optional" it's not really in good faith to not pay it. Anyways, I don't think that I'd go back and honestly wouldn't really recommend going there for dinner and getting the beef wellington. Staff were friendly enough though. I think a fair price to have paid for my evening would have been about £100-£110 in complete honesty.

Very unsatisfactory- it appeared to be chaos when we arrive- we waited for 10 minutes for someone to take us to a table then left and when to The Grapes pub which was warm, cheery and with a better river view

Underwhelming food, overcooked meat, cold starters… Atmosphere good.

🚇 Island Gardens 🍺 £5.30 Amstel The Lord Nelson is located opposite, the old Millwall fire station at the southern tip of The Isle of Dogs in the East End of London. The nearest station is Island Gardens on the DLR. The pub was built in 1855 by wine merchant Henry Johnson, whose family ran an ironworks in Ferry Street. Notably, this pub is famous for being part of the history of Millwall Football Club. Between 1886 and 1890, Millwall home games were played at The Lord Nelson Ground, which was situated behind the Lord Nelson pub on East Ferry Road. The pub received a makeover early last year and now looks smarter with a more contemporary look and feel, while still retaining its traditional character. The servery is situated on the right-hand side, with the bar area forming an “L” shape around it. There is plenty of seating throughout, and you'll find a pool table and dartboard at the back, along with a courtyard beer garden at the rear. The beer selection features a lineup of familiar keg favorites and one cask ale. I chose an Amstel; my pint hit the spot, price point was reasonable at just over a fiver. As a wet-led pub, it doesn’t serve food, but plenty of bar snacks are available if you're peckish. We arrived just after 5 pm on a showery Saturday afternoon in October with my brother and fellow pub enthusiast and local Islander @booze_house_tales. On arrival, the pub was fairly busy with a friendly local crowd. The atmosphere was upbeat, and most of the regulars were gathered around the bar and pool table. The service was great; the team member who served us was welcoming and courteous This pub shows live sports on Sky Sports and TNT Sports, and hosts Dj and Karaoke nights. Great to see that the @lordnelsonmilwall is still going strong since my last visit in 2018. This pub has retained its soul and still serves the long time locals who frequent this East End boozer. Reasonably priced pints, excellent service and a friendly local pub atmosphere make for a top London pub experience. 📅 12th October 2024 More London pub info on Socials @londonpubmap 🍻
