The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving British food

Not the first time i have been in here but will be the last. Always loved the "real fish and chip shop vibe" now it's cold beans and frozen skinny chips.

Living locally, I decided to visit this restaurant having been badly let down by another restaurant in the area (further down the hill at the coast of the Clyde). Wow what a difference, quality food in a relaxing atmosphere with top notch unobtrusive service. Keep up the good work.

Fui a una comida familiar por un cumpleaños número 70, el servicio no era genial, pero estaba ocupado. Uno si los miembros de mi familia tienen alergia a la miel, el gammon no se aconsejó en ninguna parte como miel glaseada. Cuando alguien preguntaba tenía que consultar con el chef. Esto resultó en efectos secundarios menores afortunadamente, ya que solo se tomaron un par de bocados. Nada de la comida fue comido. 3 pudines calientes estaban todos aplaudir frío en el medio, pero los tazones estaban calientes. El personal parecía poco interesado, el techo de la suite estaba todo marrón manchado por una fuga. No volvería ahora

We visited Saturday 9/10/21 , restaurant was quiet when we arrived but very quickly most of the tables were taken. Person who greeted us was very welcoming and friendly as were all the staff on duty. Food was very tasty, would recommend the pate and seafood mornay. I would go so far as to say that this was the most enjoyable meal out all round that I’ve had for quite some time. Reasonably priced too; bill for 4 people - 11 courses and 5 soft drinks was £113. Thank you!

The food is simply lovely. Beautifully presented. Fresh and extremely good value. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Everywhere is clean and tidy. Lovely atmosphere. Have visited a few times and have enjoyed each and every one.

Having visited this cafe for years it’s suddenly taken a turn for the worst and I’m not talking about the queue to order the food. Two weeks in a row I have chosen a Sunday roast to be disappointed twice. No fresh cut vegetables any more, the smallest teeny weenie boil in the bag or frozen veg, honestly carrots the size of a tiny caterpillar and soggy brussels the size of maltesers and that’s generous, plus one parsnip. I definitely won’t be wasting my money on a roast again. No wonder so many staff are leaving. It’s a shame when this cafe was always wonderful and had a fabulous atmosphere. Now all I can hear is upset customers on other tables saying they won’t be coming back.

Well, I have used the garden centre for years and ti day thought we would pop in for coffee and lunch. The place was fairly busy but we got seated very quickly. The trouble was we never got served the two couples behind us got served but we were just left at the table for over 20 minutes without even being asked if we wanted a drink. Absolutely shoddy staff with no experience me thinks. Don't think I will bother in future if this is how it's gonna be. Sort it out will ya.

Personal amable y agradable. Bonita habitación y cama cómoda. Decepcionado en el menú como opciones muy limitadas sin gluten. Hacía mucho calor así que quería la ventana abierta, pero era demasiado ruidoso y la gente fumando por debajo hizo imposible tener la ventana abierta. Posiblemente una señal de no fumar justo fuera de la puerta teniendo en cuenta que hay una gran zona ajardinada. En general, recomendaría este lugar para alojarse, simplemente no en la habitación 34 debido al humo a continuación.

Great fish and chips! Dined in the restaurant and came back again for a takeaway as it was so nice! Best fish and chips we had in the area.

I get it's a small shop but several times I've been in at 10am to be told no breakfasts today or no baps,sausage etc.Also very rare their isn't a staff member on their break during the busiest period. When it's available the food is great.

Had great service at soho the atmosphere and the staff was very polite especially Jake as he serve me very polite and care about his job you can also tell he is passionate about his job role will be coming again as the serve was good

Called in here after a walk around port sunlight after it was recommended by our guide, so glad we did I would describe the place as “quaint “, so many ornaments dotted around a lot from my childhood, the menu was very varied I had a sandwich & my husband had a scone both with tea which came with it’s own tea cosy! The staff are very friendly & we can’t wait to go again. Well worth a visit.

We were staying in the hotel on a business trip and ate here for all meals. Breakfasts were excellent with delicious fresh fruit and a good choice of hot foods. They seemed only to have instant decaffeinated coffee but the really helpful and friendly waitress found me some 'real' decaff coffee. Lunch sandwiches were fresh and well presented and our evening meals were good too. I would definitely return here for similar work.

Unreal setting, magnificent bar, and excellent service. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. Drinks were superb and skilfully made. The bar staff were very appealing and friendly. Would definitely go again.
