Booked for a group of friends and family. Plenty of room in the restaurant and a well balanced lunchtime menu of starter and main £9.95. A couple of dishes had a supplement. Food was very tasty and plentiful and value for money. No room for pudding. Will definitely be back.

Recently attended a funeral tea and the food and service were amazing. Food was served hot with plenty of choice by friendly staff. Tea and coffee pots were kept topped up and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend to anyone. Plenty of parking.

Stayed as a couple, and visited the restaurant, Saturday eve 20.00 hrs. Starter main course and 'shared dessert'. The food was lovely good quality and plenty of it, roast beef and the trimmings amazing, homemade plum crumble great. This accompanied with the perfect service from Maddie was an unbeatable combination. She was so helpful and friendly. Definitely call in again when in the location

This has got to be one of the best Sunday lunches ever. Recommended by a friend decided to "give it a go" and wasn't disappointed. Was a bit worried about not being able to book a table but was assured by the pleasant sounding young lady on the phone that it wouldn't be a problem, and it wasn't. £93 for four people included superb carvery (loved the beef), apple crumble x 3, 1 x trifle, 3 glasses of Sauvignon Blanc and a pint of lager...all finished of with coffee...bargain ! To be sure we'll be back.

Visited The Corn Mill Restaurant for a family gathering. The food was really good. There were a few of us so we'd pre-ordered what we wanted. They organised everything brilliantly so the food was delivered table by table. None of this, the staff wandering round with a plate shouting who ordered Beef? business. Always see it as an Hotel rather than a place to meet up for food which wrong. Have promised to go there more often.

No need to go anywhere else to eat. Lovely food ,early bird offer ,portion size huge,Service excellent.Prices very reasonable.

We stayed at the corn mill lodge for 5 days. The hotel was excellent, food was terrific, our room was great very clean and comfortable. I would recommend anyone looking at a break there do it you won't regret it

We have visited several times whilst in the area for lunch and the quality of food never disappoints. With a varied menu (including several gluten free options), it is very reasonably priced. Portions are generous and cooked to order in the adjoining kitchen with attentive and friendly staff. Covid guidelines adhered to with one way system, hand sanitisation on entry, track & trace details taken and all staff wearing masks. Whilst the restaurant could probably do with a facelift, I'm sure they have other priorities in these difficult times! We will be back.

Everything was pretty average for a hotel room. Like: Great showers. Friendly helpful staff Disliked · No fried egg with breakfast. Bed was over firm and pillows over soft. Restaurant food for dinner was overpriced for the quality. Decor was dated. As i say, an average hotel that i felt was a little overpriced.

Visited the hotel today for a Christmas Carvery lunch with friends. The food was superb many thanks to Mark the head chef and his team. The service was first class although they had a large party in the function room and some other bookings in the restaurant Jamie and Sharon looked after us well. Enjoyed so much that I’m going back next week with some other friends

Visited here for Sunday carvery around twelve thirty, the place was busier than expected, and was in formed of fifteen minute wait Ordered drinks in adjacent bar, shown to our table ten minutes later, the carvery offered a four meat choice, beef and gammon (my choice ) nice and lean and both very tender followed by chipolata sausage, roast and mash potatoes, crackling, stuffing, carrot and swede mash, cauliflower and broccoli cheese, parsnips, cabbage, sprouts, all fresh and hot then topped with gravy ( decided on no Yorkshire pudding for a change ), hope i didn't miss anything. all for £8:95 £1 price increase in December. Very good value and very nice to see young waiting staff all wearing poppies it being armistice Sunday.

Just your basic Sunday lunch to be honest, fatty beef, cold yorkshire puds cardboard like, out of a bag roast potatoes and plain veg nothing out the ordinary, cob webs all over coffee in the bottom of the knife and fork tray dirty windows and smeary mirrors, reminded me of something out of kitchen knightmares USA, you know when they go in these restaurants and tables and chairs look like they’ve come out the local working men’s that’s just shut down, you know what I mean 😂

Visited last night as two couples. In laws use regularly and enjoy it. Unfortunately I can’t say the same. Decor is tired, cobwebs everywhere, lanterns on shelves not lit, not much atmosphere really is such a shame. Staff friendly but clearly not trained very well(not their fault). After waiting for our main plates to be cleared for more than half an hour we told the waiter we had moved them to the next table. He’s reply was ‘that’s fine’ we weren’t offered dessert or coffee (would have declined after such a long wait). Staff were too busy cleaning tables with a tea towel and setting up for breakfast I would have raised these issues and also the fact I had to send two glasses back as they were dirty to a manager orsupervisor but clearly no one was present. Clean the glass washer please it’s not working properly. The restaurant clearly relies on the older folk. With a better standard of front of house and some up selling of drinks this place would make a good profit. Food is ok and good value for the price but wouldn’t return.

I had the duck spring rolls followed by a meat feast pizza, and I was stuffed. Everything was well prepared and the restaurant was well staffed, Reasonably priced. The only downside was that eating on the terrace outside the restaurant was not allowed.

Elegí el salmón en su lugar.El salmón llegó unos 15 minutos después. Estaba cocido al vapor pero con la piel puesta, así que quité una piel floja y sin sabor. (Si vaporiza, retira la piel, sarténla y déjala puesta).La salsa no era de mi agrado. La espinaca sabía aguada. Supongo que puede haber sido congelado, o simplemente demasiado cocido.¿Vegetales? 5 en un plato de acompañamiento. Las judías verdes estaban bien. Las papas y las zanahorias eran muy firmes. Already gave review Sunday Lunch with Grandson which for £8.95 was a bargain. A Carvery of the most selective food you could wish for.

Have stayed here a few times. Never a question of going anywhere else. Good is good. Service too class. Not your upmarket venue. Little bit dated. But good and service way compensates for that. Highly recommended

There was 10 of us celebrating my mother and father in-laws 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday night, the food and service was fantastic, very large portions of food. We all had a lovely time with great family and friends in lovely surroundings so thank you oh so much.

If you want a average carvery this is the place to go. No need to dress up very casual place. Was expecting it to be quite posh being a hotel. Poor parking.

Booked the Four Course Christmas Meal for a local community group. Unfortunately the atmosphere was lacking and the restaurant manager incredibly rude to one of the guests. After speaking to management it seemed the manager was tired ... there was no apology, and this totally spoiled our experience. I would also question why the chef was serving the food with his hands ... beggars belief !

just been for a christmas meal with work, and was very impressed with food, BUT it was the most unchristmassy of venues, poor decorations, token christmas crackers, faint music in background in a large room, staff completely unhelpful as to offer apology or solution, manager / owner fully backing his 'very tired' staff member, 9/10 for food, 0/10 for customer service, lost our staff custom and staff do's for the future and all the local schools we are affiliated with too.

Great place to stay, the room i stayed in had all the amenities you would expect to find, the on suite bathroom was clean, the restaruant served good food and the breakfast was good, parking was no problem, staff helpful and friendly, also liked the fact that the room i had was quiet at night which helped with a good night sleep

I can honestly say the food in this place is of the highest quality. Stayed here for 3 nights and very impressed. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Nothing is to much trouble.would recommend staying here and not expensive . A 10-15 drive into city centre and a bus stop right outside. An added bonus free parking. Defiantly stay here again.

Varied menu something for everyone and excellent value for money,all the vegetables are fresh we had an evening meal which was lovely,and breakfast that caters for all tastes

Went for a meal with my husband on a Friday evening. We know the Corn Mill well as our daughter used to waitress there not long after it opened 20 years ago, but we hadn’t been for a meal there in over 10 years. There have been some major improvements to the outside, including a lovely patio beer garden with lots of lovely flowers and plenty of proper tables and chairs (not picnic tables). Very nice on a warm summer evening.

Had lunch with some work colleagues. The restaurant is a little tired but the service was good and the food was excellent value.

They have a good choice of different cereals, the cooked breakfast was good, sausages had a good flavour.

Been coming here for a long time and like family run hotels. At the moment the place is being run by kids with no direction as while waiting to order another drink I see waitresses talking/gossiping and not concentrating on the customer. Thank god for the guy behind the bar for spotting things and dealing with what's in front of them and he seems quite young himself.

I had two courses which were absolutely awful. I had fishcake for starters which were huge, and tasted disgusting, they tasted as though they were cooked in deep fat that was very old. You could get far better at the local chippie at a more reasonable price. The main course I chose was salmon which was covered in the exact same sauce as the fish cakes - dreadful. The vegetables were inappropriate and not good. I ordered chips but they did not materialise - thank god! Expensive and you could get far superior food from a transport cafe.

We arrived for Sunday Lunch Carvery. We did not book and was surprised to be able to be seated at our table. Friendly staff and was asked if we would like drinks before our meal. The Carvery was really good, a selection of 2 meats, Beef & Gammon was my choice with all the trimmings, Yorkshire Pudding of course. Congratulations to the chefs. Price for a great Carvery £8.95 with drinks for two £25.45. Recommend a visit. Well patronised. Ample car parking.

Very happy to recommend The Corn Mill as a venue for family gatherings after holding a family birthday lunch for my father's 88th birthday today, Sunday 23rd April - good food with friendly service and plenty of space for small groups to sit -as a family we have now used this venue on 4occasions and will no doubt use it again.

We have had carvery lunches at most of the best pubs and hotels in the area, The Cornmill is one of the best we have tasted.

This hotel is extremely good. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much triuble. The bebroom was very spaceous and spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast are five star in my opinion. I am staying at this hotel for two nights, my reason for my stay is to go onto the Royal Scot steam train.

A very busy Sunday carvery. Negative points are no one wants to take orders for starters and you have to go to the bar to get your own drinks.

Food was excellent and really good value for money. The menu has a good variety which is good as my partner doesn't eat red meat. We had wine with our meal and had the house red which was recommended by the waitress good choice and £13. Would go back without a doubt.

Had lunch here today with two friends. First impression - what a lovely room to dine in! We were shown to our table in a friendly manner. A very good menu with many choices of starter, main and sweet. I was impressed by the service, surroundings and atmosphere - music was muted so we could chat easily. The outside of this hotel and restaurant was a joy - fuchsia bushes in full bloom, well tended flower baskets. All of this could be seen from our window table in the restaurant. We were served efficiently but never hurried. The food was delicious but we all left a bit, wishing we'd had more room! When we left, all three of us vowed to return. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Lovely food, nice waiters but the restaurant was dirty. Such a shame with gravy stains up the curtains.

Carvery lunch for fourteen including 2 babies in high chairs. Staff were very helpful. Carvery was excellent and plenty of choices. Very busy restaraunt with other large groups so queuing for the carvery is a problem.

first visited the cornmill four years ago for our silver wedding, and it was wonderful but when we went 8/7/2016 i was disappointed with the surroundings, the restaurant seemed rather tired and lacking atmosphere. on the up side the waiter was warm and knowledgeable and the food was outstanding. all four of us enjoyed our meals from the earlybird menu and the quality and portion sizes were excellent.

Have wanted to try the corn mill restaurant for some time as I had heard good feedback about its sunday lunch.My wife and I ordered soup of the day,always a bad sign when the waitress didn't know what it was and had to check with the open kitchen staff.Two vegetable soups ordered,big mistake! on tasting I was nearly sick,words fail me to describe how bad it was,i told the waitress straight away,she just picked it up and asked me if I wanted anything else,no apologies or look of amazement,my wife also left hers and was also taken away without any reference as to why.

I rang to reserve a table but I was told only need to book for 5 people or over, so we arrived to be greeted by friendly staff and directed to our table. Pleasant surroundings our waitress took our order for starters which arrived prompt, my wife ordered pate and I ordered yorkshire puddings with onion gravy YUM! We then were asked to go to the Carvery, a splendid selection of carved meats, Yorkshire pudding, vegetables galore! and a large container of gravy which you could help yourself. Drinks and Carvery reasonabley priced. Recommend a visit. Congratulations to the chef and staff.

Beautiful restaurant. Friendly atmosphere, little candles on tables. Order taken quickly from very varied menus and didnt have to wait long for food to arrive. Enjoyed our meal very much. Were so full we had to force a tirimisu down ;) the restaurant was fairly busy but we felt very attended to and not rushed. Finished with a bottle of prosecco. One of the nicest meals weve had in a hotel. Recommend surf and turf. Well, everything looked pretty tasty as we looked around to see what others were eating. Generous size portions too. A memorable evening.

Went with friends for a meal. As there were 8 of us we were asked to pre-order as all food is made fresh. Some ordered starters & desserts on the night. Excellent service & food was gorgeous. We all had another lovely evening at the Corn Mill. Went at 7pm & were able to chat away leisurely without being rushed.

We had a two course menu for £8.50. There was lots of choices which I found difficult to choose from as it all sounded lovely. We waiting a while for the food to come but it was all freshly cooked. Well worth another visit

My cousin and I have just returned home from a lunch time meal at the Cornmill, and\ I am 'stuffed'. I had some sort of garlic bread which if I am honest was a bit hard. Then I had a home made cheeseburger and home made chips. The burger was super and the chips, well I could not eat them all. Much as we would have liked a dessert we just had no room. Good value, Pleasant staff. Most enjoyable. Thanks.

Three of us had the Duck and it was very good , as was the Salmon . The Chicken Tikka skewers were popular and we got the last one, would have liked two. Good value for us all and did special veggie meal for our two-year old guest

A really nice comfortable restaurant . The atmosphere was really nice with a nice seating arrangement and a separate bar area.

Ate dinner on Saturday night. Had the burger. It was excellent, tasted like home made. Large quantity. The waitress was attentive and friendly. After dinner we were able to move to a corner of the room by the bar to have a coffee. Very pleasant.

Our annual celebration evening with the scuba Club is held in on of the function rooms at the Corn Mill. The food is excellent quality with generous portions especially the veg. The waitressings is to a very high standard and the food arrives quickly and with good organisation.

My 1st ever time eating out on Christmas day and we came here. The food was fabulous, it was a carvery main but starters and deserts were very generous portions and all excellently cooked. The staff were lovely, despite having to work their Christmas day! Would recommend to anyone, and being on my door step I often over look the place but will be coming more often!!

Good food at very competitive prices. Served quickly and staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful. I had the baked brie to start, it was delicious, followed by the chicken curry, which was huge. A mount of rice, and there were large chunks of chickens in a thick sauce, ( a little hot for my liking, but then I didn't ask before I ordered it, and it was still lovely) and sides as well.

Standard pub style menu but at least you can see into the kitchen from anywhere in the dining room so can see it is made fresh and not out of a packet.

Good menu with plenty of choice. There are plenty of ales to choose from, including a draught beer. Very tasty food and a good portion including selection of vegetables.

I was staying at the hotel and popped down for an easy supper. It was enjoyable: the pate was tasty and the wine was pleasant and if the mushroom pastry was a little dull, the fresh veggies made up for it.

Waitress had no manners, the way she said things and her body language shows she needs to be trained in hospitality. Walked in at 1.35pm (lunch is advertised as 12-2pm) and asked for a table for 3 plus a high chair. 2 of us sat down with the baby whilst my mum went to pay the balance of Christmas lunch - £400. The waitress walked over and stated I need to take your order now as the kitchen closes at 2pm (so really lunch is served 12 til 1.30, as if you walked in at 1.55pm I wonder what you would be told?) I had to state twice that we couldn't give our order as the third person was at reception paying for Christmas meals. We ordered our food and asked how we get unlimited salad as stated on the menu. Instead of explaining that you get this with your main meal, she said we don't do it anymore as it's not a buffet any more. Even after another table asking for it and my mum showing her the menu and asking for an explanation, we just got attitude which I expected after our first interaction with her. We've been here for lunch before and came for Christmas lunch last year. Now we're worried about Christmas day being ruined. The owner came out to explain after asking for a manager and when I pointed out we had just spent £400 on booking christmas lunch, he stated that had nothing to do with anything. Not what you expect from someone who wants your custom, or does he? We were told we couldn't have puddings once we had finished as the kitchen had closed at 2pm. Even though we were getting 2 courses for £7.35. The waitress' answer was I told you the kitchen closed at 2. We were never asked if our food was okay or if we needed drink top ups. My mum had to ask for her cup of tea again, 10 mins after ordering with the waitress. I hope the waiting staff are the lovely staff we had last year and our Christmas isn't ruined. If it wasn't so late in the year and there weren't 9 of us going for Christmas lunch we'd have cancelled. Get yourselves to the Britannia up the road, gorgeous food. They don't mind staying until you've finished and they'll do you pudding after meal times have finished as you're a paying customer. At half past 2 we were sat in the cornmill restaurant by ourselves as the waiting staff had gone home and left us there with plates on the table and highchair out. Also, be careful with the highchairs, ours was filthy so I'll be bringing antiseptic wipes at Christmas. The waitress could have explained at any point what the menu meant about help yourself to salad or vegetables. She could have explained when we were giving our orders about the salad and veg. She could have asked, will you be wanting puddings before the kitchen closes. Another table asked the same as us but the owner said we were the first people to ever mention it. The restaurant was not busy, one table of 4 had just received their puddings and a table of 2 sat down after us. There was no one else.

We went for our first time to this restaurant, with two friends who had been before. We all ordered different main courses, and two ordered soup as starters.

This was my first visit and the food was simply excellent. The Chef clearly knows what they are doing. The quality of the food was a surprise as the environment doesn't look anything special. In fact it didn't make a great first impression on me. It felt a little bit like being in a day-centre! But I didn't give a fig about that once I tucked into my starter of rainbow trount and mussells. In contrast to so many restuarants that try to impress you but let you down on the food, this place seemed to take the opposite approach. It is solely on the basis of the great food that I give 5 stars.

H ad a meal with friends early eveing. The food was gorgeous, freshly cooked and plentiful, with desserts that were irresistable. The service was excellent, even allowing my friend to take half her dessert home. The restauramt was set out beautifully, with a calm atmosphere, ideal for chatting and we are never rushed out, leaving us to enjoy a full evening., Thanks

Decided to have food as staying in the hotel. The major positive was the two young servers who were incredibly friendly and positive. Food was almost perfect as well

Very good choice of 3 courses compared to other places we have stayed at every night a good choice with something for most tastes.

We ordered two main courses at restaurant when I having dinner with my mate. The waiter come with big portion of mussels. And he tried to convinced ne that s starter. Wt a ridiculous excuse. I don't recommend this restaurant anymore. Coz waiter doesn't know how to accept mistake they made and try to foollish customers.

We ate here whilst staying at the hotel recently. Food is good and very reasonable. The portions are big so make sure you are hungry before eating here.

Good food, and good value.. well worth trying. Quite big portions and nice and hot. Good all round choice on the menu, and not silly prices, nice polite serving staff.

The restaurant was in the bar area this evening so was a little cramped this was ok the staff are very pleasant and happy to serve keen to please the meals we had were very good and the pie is a very good dish the portion are big and tasty we would recommend this restaurant when we come back to stay in this hotel we would eat in this restaurant again good prices on the menu

Our first visit to this hotel for Sunday carvery. We were not disappointed. The staff were very helpful. The food was nice and plenty of it. I am sure we will be visiting again. Enjoyed the experience.

Although I have eaten here last year, it never hurts to give an update for a return visit 12 months on. This occasion was a family celebration and we were given a 5 star service by all staff. The carvery food was nothing short of excellent. A word of warning, if you have the three Yorkshire pudding starter you may not get through the main course to a dessert - they are huge!

everything was above good including value. Staff were very helpful and did everything to help. Food vas excellent and very filling.

We go for Sunday lunch on a regular basis with family. Excellent food and service, well worth the trip from the other side of Leeds. Would most definitely recommend it.

Basic but a broad varied menu. Service was quick, and the food freshly cooked and great value. Good bar with a range of wines and beers.

Whenever we go here they always have real ales on tap. The food is always of a high standard and always taste great. Only downside is that they give you half a baked apple with the belly pork which is always really hard and undercooked would prefer if apple sauce was offered as an alternative. Hubby always enjoys his meals there too so much so we have become regulars now even if it is a fair drive from our house especially as there are so many other eateries which are closer.

My Fiancé & I live locally and enjoyed a great carvery here today. The service was good and the food delicious. My fiancé had the vegetarian option- vegetable Kiev and I had the turkey. All the food was fresh and enjoyable. For the price (£7.95) it's cheaper than some pub carveries and a nicer environment to boot. Will definately be back.

Well shocking buffet lunch disaster, 3 tables in use, staff rude complained about soup salty..the cold buffet grey tough ham, limp salad soggy sides, the hot food we didnt even touch the hot food after complaining to the manager he had a rude uninterested view.... Then we got the bill half way through the meal ?????? No one asked for it AVOID AT ALL COSTS THEY EVEN CHARGED FULL PRICE THOU WE DIDNT EAT IT !!!!!! Sat ages for service to clear the table, then the cherry on the top all the staff came in and had there lunch like a canteen gross, Avoid avoid avoid and then DRIVE STRIGHT PAST -100 rating

Nice atmosphere, good food and local which means we can get there on the bus, have wine with lunch and use the bus to return home.

This hotel's restaurant was very busy so I was glad I booked a table beforehand. The staff were very polite and friendly. All the meat (pork, beef, turkey, lamb) and vegetables were cooked to perfection and were plentiful. Huge Yorkshire puddings and lashings of gravy available from the help yourself kettle. All but one of us had room for a chocolate dessert with ice cream, which I am told was "yummy" by the younger member of the party. A very enjoyable value for money lunch and we will certainly return to this out of town venue.

We were staying at the hotel and decided to use the restaurant. We found the service good and helpful. The rib eye steak was good value and tasty.

Never again , we have in the past few years visited the corn mill for our Christmas outing but this will be the last time. The food was second rate and the service slow and served so the first meal out was cold by the time the last person got there meals.

Rang the cornmill lodge night before asking to book a table for four.was told no need to book just turn upwhich we did.was told it would be forty minutes wait for a table and was asked to sit inthe corridor out side the dining room opposite the toilets.surely this place could provide a better waiting area than outside the toilets.after ten minutes we left and went to the toby carvery at horsforth and received a warm welcome and a short wait for an incredible meal.Dont bother with the cornmill go to the toby!

Ate here this lunch time (19th June 2013). First time we have eaten here for a very long time so didn't know what to expect.

We booked the Corn Mill Lodge to celebrate my Aunt and Uncles Diamond Weddin anniversary and my Aunts 80th birthday. We were not dissapointed. The food was superb and plentiful and beautifully presented. Extremely good value for money and lovely surroundings for a special occassion. We will definitely be going back.
