Just come back from a Sunday Meal, there were 26 of us, we pre ordered which was fine. I had roast beef with all the trimmings and then brownie sundae. All very tasty and the service was excellent. Nice to see the restaurant busy which is a struggle for most these days. Thanks Ruth and the team.

On arrival, it looked like it hasn't been cared for in a long time. When going in, reception wasn't manned, so a wonder into the bar area, a mistake as it happened, awful smell of stale vomit. Someone did finally show up at reception, by now I wasn't feeling well, the smell triggered allergic reaction it seems, I said I'm not able to stay here, I'm not comfortable, no problem was the reply, pay up and you can go. So I never got to see the room, but if it smelled as bad as reception, I'm grateful, no wonder the door to the car park was wide open; unhelpful rude staff. Once I got back to the car park I stopped feeding sick and left, total time on the premises probably 10 minutes, that was 10 minutes too long

Disappointed with the visit today for Easter Dinner ( £25 per head). We were put in the conservatory which was quite cold. The couple on the table next to us moved into the main part of the restaurant as they had seen two rats by the window… not a great start! In fairness it is near Coundon Wedge. The service was slow but understandable as it was Easter Sunday… the waitress was pleasant and helpful. My son really enjoyed the carrot and parsnip mash but that was not to my taste; so they kindly offered cauliflower cheese as an alternative… sadly, the cauliflower was rock hard and the packet cheese sauce was stodgy and tasteless… but still nice that they tried to offer a solution. The Yorkshire Pudding was really lovely and so was the red cabbage. My ‘beef’…forgive the pun, was the Roast Beef, it was so tough that I was unable to eat it and so ended up as a treat for my dog… she has better teeth than me!! Both of us enjoyed the pudding… Rocky Road Easter Brownie and mine a lemon cheesecake. I did go to this restaurant for Mothers Day and had no issues at all. I am sure that I will go again but perhaps not on an Easter Sunday.

We visited for Sunday Lunch. We had reserved our table and the place was relatively busy. Plenty of staff on shift, most kind, welcoming and helpful. Parking is good here and located in a very accessible area. The Sunday menu is very limited. We understand fully, what a Sunday Lunch usually coincides of with the trimmings. However we felt the menu, could be a bit more informative. If they could just add a description, of exactly what the meal comes served with? There was a vegetarian in the group. We booked here because on the website. The vegetarian option stated 'V - Beef Wellington'. When we got here, there was one choice only - 'Lentil Pie'. Nothing described about this dish. We also ordered, extra mashed potato. When the 'Lentil Pie' arrived, it was simply a few boiled, diced lentils and carrots in a dish with a mashed potato top. No gravy or sauce in the pie. That was it! £22.00 (add on more to the bill later, for the extra mash). The extra mash was not even needed because the pie came with mash! The staff serving, did not even know, what come with the vegetarian option! The general meat roast dinner, was quite tasty and very large portion. We ate our meals and requested the bill. On taking payment the staff member asked if we enjoyed our meals? We were simply going to give feedback, regarding the disappointing vegetarian option. A staff member (Female- assume to be the manager) did not want to listen. Turned their back on me whilst speaking, grabbed the card details and disappeared. I would have rated this place 3 star. Unfortunately for the arrogant attitude of this woman at the end! Let the team down!

Visited for a meal while passing as we haven’t dined here for years. I’ve got to say the food was lovely but there’s things that just need attention. The look the owner is going for needs to be improved. The decorative mirrors in the restaurant are just traps for bacteria to live in, someone has tried wiping them over but left smears all over them. The wall panelling…although very on trend has not been wiped/dusted for some time and the Matt finish paintwork looks nice but not when there’s dried splashes of liquid all down the walls. The light fittings have wires hanging out the walls and most of them are either broke or put on wonkey. Silly things like seeing bits of sellotape stuck on the walls from previous restaurant celebrations that have just been left there for weeks/months maybe even years. It just looks like it’s been renovated on a cheap budget trying to get an expensive look. A massive issue I had was the staff not wearing uniforms. They were all wearing black but one had white Nike trainers on with jeans another had Converse trainers with leggings. If your serving an Ala Carté menu surely you’d want your staff to look presentable, it’s not a big ask for your staff to be wearing smart black trousers, sensible black shoes, a white shirt and then you could provide the staff with a branded apron. This place could be so much better but maybe the owner has eyes elsewhere or isn’t seeing the potential the place has or just an awful eye for detail! I must say compliments to the kitchen, the food was beautiful and the service wasn’t bad at all just needs improving.

Booked a table for an evening meal as we were staying in the hotel for trade at the NEC. The staff here went above and beyond to meet our needs. I mentioned that I couldnt wait to have a cold pint after a long day on my feet at the show. The staff then put glasses in the fridge for me to ensure my pint was the best, and it was! They had a great selection of beer, local brands and some more standard brands. Food was excellent and seasonal freshly made in house. The waitress was very knowledgeable and told me they source all the meat from a local farm and some of the veg was grown on the grounds. A very quality meal and service that was willing to go above and beyond.

Been going here for many years and it’s always been our favorite restaurant in Coventry. Food and service always been top notch. But we went last night (3/3/2023 at 7pm) and that seems to have changed. they seem to have tweaked the food we like a little. It’s not to our taste, but was still very nice. That wasn’t our main problem though. We told our waitress that the peppercorn sauce tasted more like gravy, which we thought must have been a mistake. She didn’t seem happy about the complaint, but took one away (as I’d poured mine on already and was happy to carry on eating it) to the kitchen. She came back and slammed it on the table and said they’d sorted it. It was the same as before, just a bit lighter in colour. She came back to ask if it was ok, and we said it was the same so she apologized and left. All this seems ok I guess, but while she was serving us, she needed to tell her face and her attitude to keep up with the words coming out her mouth. It just felt like she was looking down her nose at us, like we was scum for complaining. We won’t be going back.

I meet my friend regularly at the Brooklands Grange restaurant for a catch up and tea . We are usually quite happy with the meal, but tonight I am afraid we were very disappointed. We had both chosen the steak sandwich with double cooked chips and coleslaw. The chips were inedible. … overcooked, and tasted of overused oil . There was hardly any steak in the steak sandwich. I asked for no cheese and it came with cheese. The coleslaw was warm and had started to turn yellow. My friend had a dark brown long hair in her sandwich. This is the first time I have ever returned meals and refused to pay for them.

We stayed here for a last minute family event. He hotel is very 'no-frills' but for the price we paid I wouldn't expect it to be. There was someone on the reception desk to greet us but we weren't shown to the room, the room was clean with tea and coffee facilities but the beds were not the comfiest and the room was very hot. We could also hear a lot of the noise from the bar which is very popular. The food and service in the restaurant though was very good and why I have rated 4 stars, not 3. There was also a good variety of breakfast options and the staff were very polite and attentive. For us, where we were only staying a couple of nights, the price was very very good. If you are looking for somewhere cheap and clean with good food it's the perfect hotel.

We sat out in the lovely big garden overlooking the fields and horses, hard to believe it’s on the outskirts of a big busy city. We have been many times for drinks but this was our first time eating. My husband had fish, chips & mushy peas with a generous side of tartare sauce. It was huge and he said it was delicious. I had the chilli nachos with dips and hand made nachos. The chilli had quite a kick which I loved and the dips of sour cream, guacamole and salsa were lovely. I couldn’t finish it all but would definitely recommend it either as a main or starter to share. My main course was a nice piece of fish unfortunately covered in a custard looking sauce,my husband chose roast lamb which was ok if not slightly dry.Time for dessert I chose banoffee pie with ice-cream,my husband the chocolate fudge cake and ice-cream not a problem until they appeared both served with a huge dollop of strawberry ice-cream perched on top.Not quite what we expected however both were enjoyed if not separately. To sum up not quite what we expected as we have eaten here before and never encountered any problems.Today however there were many and It wasn't the waitress's faults, they had no back up or support either from the kitchen or the management. As the food was most defiantly not up-to the normal standard we expect from this restaurant.

This hotel was perfect for us as a last minute get away, looking to visit Stratford-upon-Avon. The facilities are nice enough and the booking easy through a late hotel room booking website. Breakfast in the morning was good and it's situated a minute from a Harvester for a cheap meal, a Morrison's for some convenience and not far from Coventry city centre. A nice stay.

We stayed here and the rooms were very nice, the bathroom was very well equipped and the staff were pleasant enough, although I don't think it's worth their usual asking price, we got a good deal through one of the online brokers for a late booking.Would happily stay again if it was the same price

On the plus side, the welcome was very good, and we were allowed a taste of 2 wines before choosing, and the rib-eye steaks were cooked to perfection. On the minus side, the scallop starter was very small, exacerbated by the large piece of slate it arrived on, the real ale was not available, and the ambience wasn't helped by the emptiness. Generally all OK, but not the place I would rave about.

Had a Groupon voucher for afternoon tea with soup. The afternoon tea was really lovely, but the soup a bit too peppery. The sandwiches were lovely as were the cakes and scones, cream and jam.The restaurant/hotel is just a short distance from the main A45 Coventry to Birmingham Road and the Conservatory was a lovely setting with nice views over the garden. The staff were very attentive and friendly.

Came here for a Mother's Day treat and it was lovely, there were other tables in including a large one yet our food was brought out very quickly. We all had the lamb roast and it was lovely, the roast potatoes were the best I've tasted in a long time! Would definitely come back and also recommend to others. All of the staff were very professional and all had a smile on their faces especially Paula who couldn't do enough to help.

We had been advised by a number of friends to visit the restraunt and had put off going on a number of accasionsMothers day and we decided to bite the bullittAnd go.We arrived about twenty to eight in the evening with no prior booking, were advised on arrival there maybe half an hour wait and we could have a drink in the lounge which we did , the staff were extreemly polite and helpfull and the lounge comfortable , as it happened we only waited ten mins before the young waitress came to take our meal order as the table was being readied she gave us menus and appologised that it was a mothers day menu, with no specials. The menu consisted of the choice of five starters , five main couses , and five sweetsStarters included smoked salmon, prawn cocktail , and roast sweetpotato soupWe had prawns absolutely beautiful and plenty of them.Main courses included roast beef , leg of lamb , and sea bassI had roast beef roast potatoes and vegBeef from a local butcher potatoes and veg sourced from local farmsWife had lamb , again from local butcherBelieve me the flavours alone told us this meal was top quality and the veg fresh not frozen. Wife says best roasties shes ever tasted .Puddings included lemon mirangue pieRasberry champagne torte stawberry tart etcAgain all made fresh that day no frozen crapCoffees followed and for a totall bill of £38I can honestly say its the best £38 worth of food and excellent service ive had in a very long time10/10 right accross the board will definately be going backThink you lot should give it a try

Bought a Groupon voucher for afternoon tea as we live local and hadn't been to the Brooklands Grange before. We sat in the conservatory which was lovely in the Spring sunshine and found everything was fresh and clean. The service was excellent and when I had a family problem and had to dash home for a few minutes this was no problem to the staff and upon my return a second fresh pot of tea was served to finish off our cakes and scones. The broccoli and stilton soup was obviously home made and very tasty although not much evidence of the stilton. There was a good choice of sandwiches on either white or brown bread and a collection of small sponge and cream cakes. To finish we had a home made scone each which was light and fluffy inside with copious amounts of clotted cream and jam.Overall this was great value for money and a very enjoyable experience

We haven't been here for some time and some of the reviews were a bit hit and miss. We were very pleasantly surprised, traditional sunday roast was very good, portion sizes good and the waiting staff were very friendly. The Fixed price menu was very good value and drinks not over priced,my vegetarian partner enjoyed the choice as well. It might not be fine dining and have a limited menu for sunday lunch but service and food good so well worth a visit, we will be returning.

We have celebrated 3 family events here recently all excellent service and fantastic food.We started off by celebrating Christmas day here. We had a late sitting and there were 9 of us. The food was fantastic, the service we couldn't fault, the staff couldn't do enough to look after you without being overpowering. We had 7 courses served over a sensible time and enjoyed the occasion very much.We then celebrated my daughters engagement with 30 of us having a 3 course Sunday lunch. We sat out in the newly decorated conservatory and had this area to ourselves. Luke the manager and Paula our waitress were great and very attentive. Our party had a great meal and enjoyed the occasion. We would recommended this venue to everyone. Most recently we attended a baby shower there with afternoon tea being the order of the day. We had a small private room which was great for playing games and created the perfect atmosphere. The afternoon tea consisted of assorted sandwiches, a selection of cakes and traditional scones, with pretty pots with jam and clotted cream. Unlimited selection of fruit tea bags, tea and coffee. Again the service was fantastic! The biggest recommendation we can give Brooklands Grange, is that for any future important family events we will be back!!

I bought afternoon tea for a friend and I from Groupon for £15. It's the first time I've had an afternoon tea and was worried it would be a little too posh for me but it was lovely, the service was a little haphazard but was friendly, polite and happy and we were made very welcome. The soup was very nice & so were the sandwiches and warm scones, the cakes were very nice and fresh, it's a shame the éclair wasn't but that's the only criticism I have. I will definitely be going for another and wouldn't mind paying full price.

visited on a sunday groupon deal for 4 with friends. food was very good and service was excellent, which was good considering the resturant was very busy. obviously the groupon made it a cheap option, however we stayed for an hour for some drinks, and we will return again. it is under new management who seem to be on the right track.

Went in for afternoon tea on spur if the moment. Welcomed by friendly, helpful staff. Food was freshly made with warm scones, lots of home made cake and some nice sandwiches. Slightly disappointed there was no roast beef sandwiches available- they had run out and the next joint of beef hadn't finished cooking yet!Staff were helpful and available without being intrusive and were really accommodating of the two small children we brought with us including giving them little toys to play with.Am planning to return with hubby for an evening meal as was so impressed by the quality of food and service.

My sister-in-law booked the venue as a surprise for my brothers 60th birthday. The food was awesome with lots of it, and the service was second to none, considering we were a party of 20 and they had another large group booked in too.Coudl not fault the experience in any way shape or form. A massive thank you to Mike Malhan and his team from all of my family, for a truly amazing evening. Will definitely be recommending the Brooklands to friends, and will definitely be going back there. Very hard to find a decent restaurant in Coventry - well done to all the staff for making my brothers night complete.

I visited for the first time with my partner and parents on a groupon offer for a two course Sunday lunch and didnt really know what to expect having read the past reviews, but all i can say is I'm glad we went to find out for ourselves. The reception was warm and welcoming and the staff couldn't do more for us if they'd tried. It was good old fashioned proper service from all of the staff that attended to us which is so few and far between these days. The duck pâté was lovely and a decent portion although looking at my mums prawn cocktail which she said was lovely I'd wished I'd had that too! The lamb Sunday roasts were delicious and my partners beef was tender, my turkey was lovely with v tasty gravy. The vegetables were cooked just perfect and the portion size just right! We were enjoying our afternoon so much that we even ordered deserts.... I would recommend the cheese board. Considering we had booked our meal for 5pm we weren't rushed through any of our courses in fact on the contrary. The dining room was airy and a little old fashioned but that added to a unique experience, pls dont change it too much. I would thoroughly reccomend a visit for your Sunday lunch and ordinarily its only £14.95 for a three course meal, well worth it! ! Well done to the girls/young man as their service was excellent and i hope your manager sees this as you did the hotel proud, We will definetely be back.

husband and I have used this restaurant for our anniversary on various occasions, but haven't been since it was taken over, so was quite excited as the food and service used to be second to none. alas, no more. although the décor needed updating there was always a nice atmosphere. but no more, it was bleak, maybe it was because it was still new? and empty.. but we were here now. there was one waitress who doubled up as bar tender who then proceeded to hurtle round at break neck speed in very noisy shoes, backed up with a very loud voice! not at all romantic. she was no where to be seen when we went into the restaurant so someone came out the kitchen and sort of gestured for us to sit where we wanted. starter of asparagus with runny egg and some sort of deep fried green leaves would have been lovely. unfortunately, runny also meant the egg white. I also thought the side plate and knife would mean we would be offered some nice home made bread (like you used to be served with the previous owners) but, no. I asked the waitress what they were there for if no bread was being offered, and not very politely said sorry and snatched them away. to be put down very noisily elsewhere!! so.. on to the main course.. corn fed chicken with roasted veg, mashed potato and a wild mushroom sauce for me and the steak and chips with peppercorn sauce for hubby. my chicken was so dry, the roasted veg?f I would be very surprised if they had seen the inside of an oven, the peppers were raw, and the rest just seemed as if they had been heated in the microwave, and the mash. well, we all have bad days, but lumps, not mash, would be more appropriate. my hubby said his steak was ok.. but he was starving! when the waitress came to collect the plates she didn't even notice that my meal had hardly been touched, until the obligatory " did you enjoy your meal"... no, I did not. through tight lips she said she would inform the chef., but he decided not to bother coming to see us. we decided against the dessert. the waitress said she would speak to the manager when we asked for the bill and was asked to pay at hotel reception. thinking we might get an apology of some sort we sort out reception and it seemed like he was trying to avoid us as well!! all in all would we go back? NO. anyone can write a fancy menu, doesn't mean they can deliver.

Visited for a lovely afternoon treat! A super selection of pastries & scones with fresh cream & jam, along with a good variety of sandwiches. Not massive portions & no replenishment of cakes or sandwiches, which other establishments do, however it was good value & a pleasant afternoon.

A last minute decision to eat at the Grange elicited this response on booking.....'we have a large party in' This should have rung the alarm bells, but hey ho, perhaps they could find us a quiet corner.....It appeared to be staffed by just two people, and very pleasant though they were, one had NO idea what he was doing and the other couldn't pronounce the dessert menu correctly.....a Pear and Thyme Tatin was unrecognisable in its pronunciation. The service was rather like watching a headless chicken run around, the first waiter had to keep going backwards and forwards to the kitchens (or somewhere) to get answers to our questions, and then didn't take our starters as he was too anxious to disappear with our mains order that we had been discussing. In saying all this, most of the food is beautifully made, my duck and my OH's pork dish were perfectly cooked, but the accompanying vegetables appeared to have been cooked all in one pot because the green beans were more than al dente yet the broccoli had disintegrated into green confetti. We tried the unrecognisably described Tatin and a rhubarb crumble for dessert, both were very nice, though the Thyme was barely evident. The menu was quite strange for the time of year, not summer oriented at all, but overall we enjoyed what we ordered. Our table was in the conservatory with a view of a skip, though this will hopefully disappear as it looks like there is building work in the garden area. By the time we were half way through our main course, it was getting dark and none of the light bulbs worked. A manager came and changed one...yes, just one (are they rationed?) so that we could see what we were eating. The wine list is limited, with only one house red and one house white available by the glass. We were tempted to ask if we could pop back home and grab a better bottle from our own stock!I was also going to ask our waiter why we had a side plate and butter knife on our place settings (we weren't offered any bread) but he was run off his feet. Some additional staff would have been welcome I am sure!

I cannot speak too highly of the function that we had after the funeral of my mother. The staff were welcoming and couldn't do enough for the 25 guests. The food was excellent with a wonderful buffet which ws totally fresh, interesting and exceeded our expectations. Everything was homemade and well presented. The staff were very attentive without being obtrusive. All in all it made our day. Special thanks to Bruno who worked so hard to ensure that it was a great success.
