Old Clarence in Coventry

Used to be a great pub but now awful due to new management. Filthy toilets.Full of underage drinkers. Awful food. Boycott the Clarence

Absolute horrible place to visit. Walked in and all The management and staff was slagging off a regular in the pub. Disgusting place to visit. Toilets have faeces all over them and it’s full of 16year olds drinking

Decent atmosphere. Good sports screens. Great outside seating. Cheesy chips were good value and lovely. Loads of cheese. !! New menu decent price. Toilets all clean. Pool free Monday. Quiz Tuesday at 7:30.

Great venue!! Came too meet friends for football and drinks, The football was on multiple screens as well as Formula one, so that made even better Great value drinks all served well and servers were polite and friendly And also informed us of details for car parking and machine Didn’t eat ourselves but food to other tables looked amazing,so will definitely try next time

Decided to pop in for lunch , and wasn't disappointed, from the burgers to nachos everything was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing attentive service nothing was to much trouble ,would highly recommend 5* all round Well done

Popped in this afternoon for food with the family and as a nacho lover I can most definitely recommend! Excellent service, great menus we shall be returning :)

Absolutely incredible pub. I even complimented the chef and props to the manager for such an amazing menu. I recommend the handmade burgers as I have had them a few times from there now and they are always consistently great. Also very freindly bar staff and all together a very welcoming place. Fully recommend this to anyone. (Best place to eat in earlsdon)

The menu was switched for a basic burgers/pizza menu. The food wasn't good. The staff behind the bar and the server looked miserable.and unfriendly. Wouldn't go again.

I had fish and chips / mushy peas and a pint all very nice the guy who served me was friendly go take a look.

Came in for lunch today, pub was quiet and very pleasant feel. Really enjoyed our food, we ordered a Mixed grill and the festive mac and cheese

Went for a night out with friends, they have an array of drinks to choose from at least 12 different ciders multiple gin flavours and loads of others. Highly recommend the cocktails.

Absolutely cracking night. Sport in the one section if that’s what you’re into. Decent music and a bar/party atmosphere in the other. Went in for 1 drink and ended up staying most of the night. Staff are amazing and know what you want before you even order your second round. Was like being in a local pub but with more to it. Totally recommend

A really welcoming place. Went on a Friday night at around 8pm and the atmosphere was great. There was music that wasn't too loud but made you feel like you were on a night out. Unlike a lot of other pubs, there was a nice level of lighting too, dimmed lights and some colour too! 2-4-1 cocktails meant there was a great value.

Not a safe space for women and girls.

Barmaid with the pink hair was the rudest member of staff I’ve ever met. Terrible customer service, not welcoming at all and Sneered as I left and said goodbye, didn’t even reply.

It's an old fashioned workers pub after 5pm with the food menu punching above it's weight crowd can be a bit overwhelming if you don't like that sort of atmosphere.. a cov supporters pub explains why! Pool table and sports TV to watch and reasonably priced beer !

Would definitely recommend this pub for a few drinks. The staff are amazing. Will go out of their way to give you a good night. Not an empty glass to be seen. They were certainly on the ball! The selection of drinks is fantastic. Anything you would want is available tbh. The atmosphere was spot on. At 8pm. The lights dimmed and the music volume went up a bit. Its a proper pub! Came here for an 80th birthday. Service was good, staff accommodating and friendly. The food for 18 people came out quickly and everyone enjoyed what they had ordered. The tab system worked really well and we all said we would return again. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Food has hugely improved!! Food yesterday was lovely! Tasted lovely and served with a smile! Really wish I had take a photo of the childrens meal as it one of the best we’ve had in long time! Daughter was wanted more as it was so good! Keep up the good work!

It has a nice minaret. The manuals look attractive. Easy access. It has a warm place image. You can reach the tile on a green route by walking.

Stopped off for a cheeky pint on way back from Earlsdon festival. A nice atmosphere and even had a bite to eat.

After a 50+ minute wait for our meals I found 2 bits of meat in my steak and ale pie. The gravy hides how the mash was presented. I now know why most people walk past it when going to Earlsdon.

My Food wasn't great as it was Burned , but my husbands burger was lovely ,

Went in for a drink not food. There was a quiz on which was quite noisy so a bit difficult to have a quiet chat. Reasonably priced drinks. Bar staff happier pouring pints than serving gin n tonics.

Called in after a miserable experience at the aardvark, and while it was the exact same menu, the experience was poles apart, friendly helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble!!! AND TV’s at a volume level where you can hear yourself think!!! Fabulous, highly recommended

I came in with friends to watch the rugby and am horrified by the place. I have worked in many bars and nothing comes close the the chaos of this place. Young women working their butts off while some bloke who looks like a melted Harry Hill with Gaffer on his t-shirt looks terrified if more than two people are queuing. Dirty plates and glasses piled up on the bar for at least half an hour while there are 50 people in the entire pub. Get someone who knows how to run a local and also how to treat his employees because they're run off their feet while he does nothing. Absolutely not a good reflection on the company.

Had a brilliant time at the Old Clarence the other day. When we walked in the place, it looked clean and inviting. The staff were brilliant and friendly and went out of their way to spend time having a chat with you to make you feel welcome. It was a nice touch to be made to feel welcome and great to find out about the place. We looked at the menu and struggled on what to choose from the selection. I can be pretty picky, but there were plenty of options to choose from. We went and ordered some food and the meals were really lovely. We didn't have a long wait for them to come out and had no problems with them at all. All meals were well presented as well. The garden area is nice and spacious with a nice heater on those cold, wet afternoons with plenty of seating. I hope to try it out in the summer when we have nice weather which will be nice. Definitely will be coming back again, there's plenty more Gins and meal options to try out. It's a shame we don't live closer. Thanks, guys, for everything! Keep up the great work.

Nice pub, nice choice of beers, friendly staff very welcoming. Lots of screens to watch sport on. Big car park too with 3 hrs free parking. Worth a visit.

I’ve seen many managers over the years some good and some brilliant. This new manager listens to feedback and wants to move the business forward. The staff are lovely too. Highly recommend and the prices are the best I. The city

Great local pub for all, really welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Has the best of both worlds: great for a meal out or a sociable night with your friends. By far the cheapest pub in the area which makes it even more appealing to my bank balance.

First time visit to the old clarence was last Friday. Went to meet a friend and was made really welcome by Sophie. Lovely spacious pub with a great food menu. Skysports and bt sports on the tvs which is a big winner for me. Will definitely be going back very soon

I sometimes take my dog along with me to this dog friendly pub, which also has a nice beer garden. The food is fantastic and the prices of both food and drink are excellent. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Plenty of significant sports events are shown on their tv's, and most recently I was grateful to be able to watch the national moment of reflection live at the pub for her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and it was a moving yet beautiful experience, Jazz and the team delivered the evening with great dignity, unity and compassion. I look forward to visiting the pub again very soon.

We had a lovely visit to the old Clarence. It had a friendly atmosphere and nice vibe to it. Great selection of food which was quick and hot when it arrived. If you are looking for somewhere to watch sport this would be a great choice. The staff were really friendly too

Not very good even were you have to pouch your vehicle registration number in its difficult to see the food is ok i won't be going there for sometime.

Ordered a chicken burger with bacon for takeout, I believe it was Sophie in the kitchen. The bun was lovely, toasted and the chicken was lovely and moist. The fact they have a takeout option is fantastic as well. Compliments to the chef and the team, would definitely visit again!

Came in for a catch up with the family, they are child friendly so didn’t have to worry about the baby being too loud. Made to feel welcome and staff were great

Changing my review to 5 stars since the new owner took over regular drinker in this pub until recently moving from smithy x

Came here a few weeks ago, meeting a friend before moving on. the sign outside mentions cask ale, but go there to find the only one, Landlord (great pint), was off with no more available. Disappointing to say the least. Ok, I'll have a whisky. To my shock, and second disappointment, no single malts. Come on guys, no cask ale and no single malts? Made do with a John Smith's, and then moved on. Constructive criticism: Please keep a steady supply of proper beer, and at least one decent single malt.

Only visited the function room for a party. Had to wait ages to get served at the bar.

We came yesterday thinking we would get the average pub meal, we were wrong both meals were excellent. My steak was the best I've had in more than three years. Nice friendly pub the only thing that let it down was the lack of real ale, doom bar was available but I would rather go without than drink that. We will be back very soon

Friendly staff. Only had drinks. Easy to obtain free parking ticket. Tables needed a wipe but I am sure the staff would have obliged had we asked. Not a bad palace and lovely beer garden
