Excellent place for old fashion charm, and food was first class staff are well organized and friendly, Jo and Josh. P s they didn’t get my joke. What did one plate say to the other plate? Answer - lunch is on me. Does anybody else get the joke ?

You really must try this place and book ahead due to popularity. We started with the infamous garlic sizzling prawns the a huicy sirloin with peppercorn sauce, huge onion rings and othe trimming and chips. Dessert was a hard choose. We ended up having the frangipane tart. All washed down with a half of spiral pale ale. The service and speed of the food to table was excellent and service by Josh who catered for all our needs. Perfect place in the summer too. In fact all year round.

We moored up alongside the Greyhound for an early dinner. We were last here a year ago and were impressed, so decided to come back. We shared a whitebait and then had homemade steak and stilton ale pie and faggots from the light bite menu to ensure there was room for the delicious banoffee. Unfortunately they ran out of the Elevation IPA after a pint, but did squeeze another one out of the barrel (thank you!). The meal was certainly as good as last time and the staff were brilliant. Special shout out to Jo who was attentive and we enjoyed some jokes with her - thanks Jo!

Went to the Greyhound for Sunday Lunch with a party of 4 with two dogs. As we were with dogs we could not eat in the Restaurant but a private room was allocated on the first floor. The food was good and excellent value for money. Even though the room was remote from the Restaurant the service given by Grace was good and she really looked after us..

Went for lunch today with my sister. Lovely friendly service from Jo, Josh & Rybee and both meals were delicious. Fish was excellent (and I’m quite fussy) and the chips although not home made were very nice. The pie dinner was equally tasty … oh and all food served lovely and hot (I hate tepid food but this didn’t disappoint) We’ll definitely be returning and would recommend.

This pub is right on the canal with great outdoor seating, so we had Sunday lunch overlooking the narrowboats and swans. I ordered using the QR code at the table, and both drinks and food arrived fairly quickly. I enjoyed the trio of roasted meats, and the turkey was very moist. Yorkies were crisp, but the other trimmings a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, I'll go back just for the ambience.

This was my first trip to The Greyhound pub in 12 years today. I heard it recently had changed owners and that the food was great. I took my 88 year old mother and two of my friends and booked a table for 4 in the restaurant. Our visit was extremely disappointing . After our food order was submitted we then waiting around 45 mins before the food appeared on our table. This is way too long . The food was lovely though . I also have to say that the table for 4 we were sat at was way too small and we all felt restricted as well as the awful seating - Felt like siting on a plank of wood !! No comfort at all . All in all not a fantastic experience at all and hope that these concerns are addressed .

Worst meal ever, looked and tasted like leftovers thrown on a plate. Never again.

Food was good, but the service was terrible. We waited for more than an hour and nobody warned us in advance that the waiting time will be long. The waitress dropped our pigs in blankets on the table and asked us to pick them up ourselves and not even offered to give us new. In the end, when we had already eaten and paid, they brought us another beer that we did not order and turns out - it was already put on the bill.

Lovely food and great beer. Very friendly and helpful staff. I do not hesitate in recommending this canal side pub wholeheartedly. I believe they are now trying to cater for too many visitors and the quality, attention to detail and service standards have begun to slip of late.

A friends birthday lunch treat. First time there in ages. Staff very pleasant.

A lovely place to eat in very pretty surroundings. The service was quick and friendly. The food came out in good time and was hot and very tasty. The sun was out so it was very busy and quite loud, we also got charged for a different tables drinks but it all got sorted quickly. Overall would highly recommend.

We had booked a table as family were on the canal,Required a large table as there was going to be 8 of us manged to fit us in. The Food is amazing you can tell its all home cooked The staff are great attentive but not overbearing and didn't rush us at all.A place I will recommend to all.

There are very few ‘proper pubs’ left in Britain. Thankfully the Greyhound is one of them. It has a wonderful unique atmosphere and is always buzzing with happy customers. They serve excellent well conditioned real ales and great food which is served all day long, furthermore their opening times are reliable. I can’t say anymore other than I love the place. Don’t change a thing.

Set in a beautiful location next to the canal, gardens are well maintained and pleasant to sit in, service was excellent and the staff even though busy were polite and friendly. Good selection of drinks and the food was amazing.

A lovely lunch with my husband. Seafood and Prawn linguine excellent and plenty of prawns. My husband had Chicken Kiev which he thoroughly enjoyed (4 wedges was a bit mean though!) Excellent staff, very friendly and professional. Will definitely be back.

Lunch at the Greyhound good as ever. You need to book if you want an inside table, otherwise plenty of outside tables.

Family and I popped in for a spot of lunch we didn’t book but I think you have to usually however they happily seated us. Drinks and food order was taken in no time food arrived in good time and was spot on big portions piping hot well seasoned too. There’s no complaints from us staff are all friendly and attentive we will deffo be back. please keep up the good work

Moored nearby. Called in this afternoon, 11.07.24, for a couple of pints. Purchased a Salmon Scotch Egg for a takeaway. Nice ales and food. The pub was 70 % full at 6pm ish. Recommended

Fantastic atmosphere lovely food and four Real Ales to choose from. Plenty of friendly staff looking after you. Lovely locals, happy to chat, dog friendly and very welcoming. Would even recommend it to my Mom and she's quite fussy. Absolutely loved it and will be back.

Popped in for lunch our way home from Weymouth today. I had ham, eggs (2) and chips, hubby had ploughman's lunch. Both meals were really nice with the ham on both meals thick cut and plentiful. Pleasant atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. After talking to Marcus will definitely be returning 25th August for Retro 60s in the marquee.

We have eaten here 4 times in the last 10 days, passing through on our boat. Best food we have had in ages. Prices sensible. Highly reccomend. Sunday dinner amazing.

Food was delicious home made steak and stilton pie and belly pork cooked to perfection.We are on a narrowboat so glad we called in for lunch proper old English pub beer good too.

Just called for a drink. Sat outside, very pleasant watching boats navigate the bend.

Our table wasn’t ready but we were taken to a lovely private upstairs room and Hyuga was our waiter. He was very attentive (& handsome!) and completely professional . The food was delicious and the beer excellent. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thank you 🤩

As my Lady saids lots of mosquitos, tables are small, à lot to walk either. It's nice next to the water, just the water is really Dirty, at least the People are friendly and a bit Pricy ai would say.

Been using The Greyhound over the years, latest visit on Sunday rates as the best! We all had Sunday lunch,different meats,all cooked very well,definitely return Special mention to Rubee! This girl has great customer service skills! Cost of living hike has seen eating out a luxury,this was so worth it!

Booked for Fathers Day with family. Roast dinner was superb very tasty and home cooked.

The food was amazing, we sat outside watching the boats go by and had a great time. It was very busy at the time of our visit but we still got served fairly quickly by friendly helpful staff.

Absolutely a great place to eat and soak in the canal atmosphere. Our meals as served where top shelf. Staff very helpful, not a place to miss and a definite stop on any canal boat holiday.

Had a 3 course meal in the bar area tonight with my partner one of the best meals we have had out in ages. The T-bone steak on the specials menu was amazing.

We had a work get together past and present, and fecided to give the Greyhound a go as its under new management and we had a lovely evening. The Blade of beef was super ❤️

Lovely pub on the canal, was busy on Sunday afternoon and the service was a little slow but the Sunday roast made up for all that. The large portion of turkey and all the trimmings was huge! Only downside was the portion of stuffing was really small. Bar snacks including warm scotch eggs also good.

Fantastic Food, great atmosphere with no fruit machines or TV to ruin conversation. Staff I can only rate as 11 out of 10. They are always friendly and welcoming and the manager always finds time for everyone and likes his outside tables all neatly angled. we tried the greyhound by chance a couple of months ago and now are there a couple of times a week at least

We dined in one of the upstairs rooms and were very well looked after by our waiter, Hyuga. He looked after us and never once complained about our not so great singing once we’d had a few bottles of wine! Good food and service, nothing was too much trouble for him.

What a fab little spot this pub is at and such a family friendly place. Really good choice of food and lots of space in the garden to sit out and enjoy the sunshine right by the canal.

Walked the canal in hope that there would be enough space to squeeze a party of two in as all reservations online was taken. Staff squezed us in no problem. Service was spot on and very quick. Food was exceptional & came quick. Very tast. Staff were very attentive and professional! Love 💙💙💙

Probably the best fish I have ever had!! Absolutely delicious, batter was so light and it was a beautiful fillet! The special croquettes were absolutely outstanding, full of flavour and divine. The Greyhound is everything a pub should be. Great beer and food, friendly staff and other customers, Cosy atmosphere. The views outside over the canal aren't bad either! There are excellent meals available in the bar but there is a separate restaurant area on the other side of the building if you prefer that kind of atmosphere.
