Excellent Sunday roast, especially the roast beef. Have visited in the past and have enjoyed their roasts, but they have definitely up their game, with extra seasoning/tenderness of the meat. A proper thriving pub, bar one side, restaurant the other - a real treat to visit. Lovely staff too- very friendly. (Booking advised for food).

So.... New owners. We were anxious about Sunday lunch with new owners. But it was exceptional. The previous carvery was good, but actually compared to this, just ok. This was exceptional. Going to come in the week too. So expect another honest review. But so far, brilliant. Thoroughly recommend the Sunday roast. Worth travelling from any of the local villages for. This is the Sunday lunch destination

Came in tonight with a friend and my 19 year old who has autism and learning disabilities for post match drinks after the Sheffield Eagles game. The staff were more then welcoming. My son 19 but due to a medical condition looks about 12 so a bouncer came while we were sat and asked him for ID which mt son had. I explained to the bouncer he had autism. He checked my sons ID and was happy but did it in such a kind way so as to not make my son feel he'd done something wrong. My son also plays learning disabilities rugby for Sheffield Eagles and some of the players are thinking of a night out and I've already recommended this place as somewhere with good drinks, pool and friendly accepting staff.

Arrived at lunchtime today, Thursday 3rd April 2025 at 1.00pm, to find the barrier across the entrance and the premises closed. I had taken the precaution of checking tripadvisor (which gave opening hours as 12.00 to 15.00) and the pub's the web site to make sure that it was open prior to visiting, there was no clue as to why it should be closed.

I have both stayed and Eaten at the Driftwood Spars many times so didnt hesitate to book again for a family get together for a birthdy. I was extremley dissappointed with the food. It was expensive for what it was. a couple of us had scallops as a starter which was such a tiny portion it was ridiculous. For a main I had Monkfish which was a " special" and again a tiny portion, at £50.00 a head for 2 courses it was not value for money. Such a shame as Ive had fabulous food there before, but will think again before booking

We often come to this restaurant and we never have bad service. Everyone is always polite and friendly. We do often have the same server (Sam) and she is always on top form and genuinely interested in how our family is doing. Our youngest is Autistic and very fussy with food. Sam is always willing to make changes to suit her needs, which makes our meal out less stressful and enjoyable. Thank you! Also, not forgetting the kitchen team, who always prepare delicious food.
