Food and service lovely. Atmosphere for a Friday night totally crap. No background music . Only background noise was two guys playing a board game and shaking a dice. Definitely won't be back.

We booked a table for eleven people and when we started to arrive the table was reserved. Lovely friendly staff serving us and a nice time in between two courses . The food was a ten plus. Everyone at the table was very happy with their choice,portion size and it was hot when it arrived. We stayed on for a few drinks. Lovely place to chill on a Saturday night.

Booked a room for two nights while I was over in Newtownards. I'm looking to move over there from England and used the hotel as my base for exploring the town and surrounding area. It's a nice little hotel a short walk from the town centre and the Kiltonga Nature Reserve. Rooms were nice, service in the adjoining restaurant in the evening was fast and plenty of options available, if a tad pricey. In terms of the breakfasts, I thought the cooked breakfast was decent and there are vegetarian and vegan options (if asked for) but the other breakfast stuff seemed to be limited to basic toast and cereals and not fully continental. Standard Room was in good condition and the bed was comfortable, my two quibbles with the room were: 1.) the shower was not quite powerful or hot enough for my tastes, though the water was warm enough for an adequate shower after long days of hiking about. 2.) The WiFi doesn't seem to reach up to the upper floors properly, on the 4th floor it was low quality signal and intermittent. The same was true of the restaurant Wifi, I found that you had to keep switching between them when either of the disconnected due to poor quality, a bit annoying I would stay again the next time I am in the area for sure. Thank you!

Spent four nights here and found it warm and cosy, the staff very pleasant, fully cooked breakfast included in the price, the hotel has ample free parking, would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay central to Ards.

Great venue. The night we were in the fella on the desk found my wife's phone after she lost it, and wouldn't take a drink or any money as thanks. Fantastic staff and we were so grateful. So thank you so much. A legend and a great hotel.

For lawless newtownards, perhaps one of the most notorious Beirut towns in the whole of Ireland, it's ok to put your head down. The beds are rock solid which was great for my busted back, saved me lying on the concrete floor. All rooms on my aisle have a window to a rather nasty fall with electric wiring just dangling outside of it. Just beyond this again for this whole aisle is housing for a multitude of commercial bins both food and sanitary waste etc, the smell is really hard to ignore but with a few vodkas from the onsite bar, you'll sleep through it. If booking I don't recommend staying on this side of the hotel. The food and restaurant is cool for the money but I'd consider a stay in nearby Bangor by the sea for much better value for money. Sadly despite the excellent location to the busy shopping centre and fastfood, it really isn't up to standard in comparison with most other accomodation especially these days. The creepiest part was I was certain someone was walking on my ceiling at all hours. I was so alarmed and paranoid I actually went out looking only to discover someone taking roof tiles off in the men's customers bathroom on the same hallway where noise was coming from. It's a bit disturbing considering all the issues this town and nearby towns have been facing in recent times with creeps in these hotels. This is the reason for 2 stars and not 3

Excellent service all round friendly & great staff

The good: it was closest to our destination and everyone knew where it was (hence 5*). All the staff were pleasant. We stayed in an economy room. The indifferent: it really, really needs to be refurbished. The room was comfy enough, but it was tatty. The shower was merely a dribble wishing to be a grown up. There were no plugs near the very firm bed. At one point during our stay, the cleaners did not do a decent job. The dire: breakfast. Just don't and go round the corner. They served the usual fare of yoghurt, cereals, toast and juice together with a cooked meal which really let the side down. You get an offering of five items, two of which are bread, a sausage, a single slice of bacon and egg (scrambled, poached or fried ). The scrambled eggs were made of industrial grade rubber although my companion's fried egg was ok. No tomato, beans, mushrooms etc. to make the meal more enjoyable.

Only stayed one night, but the hotel was very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful. I enjoyed the Ulster fry.

59th birthday meal in the restaurant. Staff are friendly, helpful and more that happy to explain in arrange surreptitious birthday cake with candles! Portions are more than ample, and very tasty!

Easter Sunday lunch was a bit miserable for £38 per person. A good few choices yes but portions was not great food was lukewarm warm and you could tell It was all Pre cooked and it didn’t take long to serve out soup was very salty and defo not home made Basic food just average no real attention to detail On the plates Service was ok didn’t get checked on didn’t ask if we need anything else and no extra veg Above all just average

Four of us went, having made a reservation, to LeWinters for an early Saturday evening meal. It was a long time since I was last there, and unfortunately we will not be rushing back. It was very noisy, and with some children being allowed by their parents to add to it didn't help. The meals were served promptly, although there was a general impression that the portions were small, despite the price . One of our group ordered pan fried chicken supreme, which was like roasted and served with a pepper sauce (as the menu said), even if a white sauce is usual. It was good to see the specials on a printed attachment to the menu, and not rhymed off by the server. Despite our reservations we did enjoy our meals.

Very poor service , had to ask for cutlery when our meal came, food was very dissapointing,had better meals in a cafe ,not restaraunt standard, would not rush back. Im sure your cctv can show our starter being served and no cutlery on table, we had to ask for it

Excellent Christmas dinner at Le Winters this weekend. We were a large party and everyone was served delicious, hot food at the same time, not easy on such a busy night but the staff handled it superbly. The atmosphere was fantastic all night and the host Darren was friendly, helpful and attentive. I had the Brie for starter and the turkey dinner but as usual tried a bit of everyone’s and the standard was high all round. A few restaurants in the area seem to have coped with the current cost of living crisis by dropping quality standards but not here. Last weekend I was at another Xmas dinner in a golf club and the crowd almost mutinied because there were no roast potatoes so I was happy to have the full feast at Le Winters…I even ate sprouts! Well done team.

Nice bar, good rooms and good food.

Nice hotel, food is good, staff very nice. Room are comfortable and warm. Only complaint is my room had a useless window that was frosted, at a weird angle, and looked on the the roof and passageway at the back of the hotel. But other than that its very nice, very welcoming, clean and comfortable.

Me and 3 friends stayed here for a girls trip to see Fusion in LeWinters and I couldn’t recommend here enough, the staff were amazing, several staff members went the extra mile to make sure our night was perfect and it certainly did, we all had the best night! We will definitely be back again around March for friends bday due to the exceptional service :) Great hotel with lovely breakfast, good clean rooms and all for great value for money

Lovely hotel, very clean and modern. Serviced every day. Hotel staff are very friendly. Bed was a king size and very comfortable (and this was an economy room). Great value for money. Breakfast was great quality and plenty of choice. Will definitely recommend this hotel.

Dit is een ontzettend bijzonder hotel, hebben wij ondervonden! Het is namelijk het enige hotel in Noord-Ierland waar mensen NIET komen om te slapen, maar om naar de disco te gaan! Wij kwamen helaas wel om te slapen... En wat ook enorm speciaal aan dit hotel is, is dat het een douche heeft waar ALLEEN heet water uit komt! Tot slot raad ik iedereen de eieren bij het ontbijt aan: het is absoluut een machtige ervaring om eieren te eten die gepocheerd zijn in afwaswater! Helemaal top!

We had my Aunt's 90th Birthday Celebrations at 1pm. The food was delicious. The staff were friendly, courteous and polite. The young pregnant lady was great. The service was unreal. Probably one of best services I have had in a long time. We were a party of 19 adults and 4 children and nothing was any trouble for the staff. Excellent service all round and credit to your hotel x

We have just returned from Belfast to back down south to Cork. We had a family celebration and gathering at the Strangford Arms Hotel. From the moment we got there, we were welcomed and the staff were so helpful, attentive and kind. The hotel was so busy Yesterday with not only our gathering but also a wedding on the same day. The hotel was fully booked, but they still managed to provide us with smiles, top quality service and all in a very friendly manner. They kept checking that we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The food was very good, my option, a fine plate of tender roast beef and fresh vegetables, potatoes, gravy and Yorkshire pudding. It was so tender and tasty and a huge portion. Desert was wonderful, light and fresh. That evening we had a drink in the bar, which had a lovely happy atmosphere and then we retired for the night to our rooms. The rooms were clean, the beds were super comfortable, and a nice hot shower in the morning with fluffy towels. The breakfast menu is a little restricted in comparison to some hotels I have stayed in, but this is not me complaining, because what was presented to us, was fresh and perfectly cooked, with plenty of coffee, tea and Juice, toast, cereal etc. They even had oat milk for one of the family. It was my first time in Belfast and I am grateful to all the wonderful people at the Strangford Arms Hotel, from giving us such a wonderful stay. Thank you very much.

We went to LE WINTERS bar and restaurant in the Strangford Arms so this review is for the restaurant NOT the hotel. We had the 10oz sirloins special which was £20 each and great value compared to the other meals which were in and around the same price. Both steaks were cooked to perfection. My wife had roast potatoes as a side order and I had champ. The pepper sauce was excellent. The service was friendly and helpful.

I visited here for my Dad's 80th birthday. The staff were very friendly on the phone when making the booking and were helpful with our request of candles etc. This was our first visit and I can safely say we will definitely be back, the food was top quality. We ordered, steak, sea bass and roast beef. The roast beef was the best I have tasted in a long time and the desserts were amazing. The staff on duty that night could not be more helpful and friendly. A top quality service with reasonably priced, proper home cooked food on the menu. A must visit.

The menu was good but the fish and chips had sold out. Some would say that’s a good sign as the fish must be fresh. However, I was disappointed. I has the roast of the day but, for dietary reasons, only wanted a couple of roast potatoes rather than roast and mash. I agreed to substitute mash for extra vegetables. It arrived with enough meat to feed three people and a minimum off vegetables. I asked for more vegetables and got what I wanted .. but at an extra charge. Thought it was a bit slap-dash.

Basic but what you expect for the money. Decent breakfast. Not far from Belfast & bus stop outside.

Absolutely beautiful meal with first class service. Went at a busy time on mother's day and received the highest standard of service from welcome to departure. Food was superb and staff friendly without being intrusive. Highly recommend with a special mention to manager Darren for being super accommodating and helpful. Will definitely return.

Absolutely dreadful experience doesnt even deserve the star, ordered a burger I asked would it be garnished and Told it would be to receive a brioche bap a burger and lettuce no sauce or condiments, no other form of garnish for 15.95, to then be told by the manager that this is correct and it's the way it's stated on the menu althought the menu said lettuce and tomato I would of expected some sort of sauce or condiment as you would with any big standard burger, this very unprofessional manager seemed to want an argument instead of fixing the problem while I just wanted to have dinner with my daughter, used to be nice for for food absolutely disgusted to be told me having an issue with my burger was "not the way it works" this kid should not be a manger having worked in the catering industry myself, terrible food service was worse

Haven't stayed in hotel have been in restaurant food was lovely staff were very friendly and helpful and welcoming. Where we we sitting it was a bit rowdy staff had no problem in moving us to somewhere quieter. Food was absolutely amazing we had wings n wedges for starters then for mains had the offer of the day which was two steaks for £40 was absolutely delicious will definitely be back again soon.

Staff on Boxing Day lunch were very attentive and service very good.

Great lunch at le winters, fantastic staff and the red Thai curry was excellent and you cant go wrong with the chicken gougons were great as well.

Staff accommodated us although we were late to order food. This was served promptly by friendly restaurant staff who ensured we had everything we needed. The food was delicious and presented well.

We had an extended family birthday Sunday lunch & were not disappointed. The staff were friendly & really attentive without being intrusive. There were 10 us & we ordered starters & mains from both the standard & the specials menus. A few of us chose the baked ham with seasonal veg & mash, from the specials menu while burgers, chicken goujons etc & were ordered from the main menu. Mains come with a choice of side. The 2 kids were happy with their choice of pizza & pasta followed by ice cream. The food was piping hot & delicious. It was a great experience & agreed we would return again soon. Staff advised their children’s play area will open again from mid May. Definitely really child friendly

Was out for lunch today first time here and had to leave review of my experience.We arrived and there were a few people in the que waiting. Some had reservations some did not, Male manager was seating everyone his name was Simon ( staff all had name badges)He was very pleasant told us the special and took a drink order. The place was very well spaced out even though they were extremely busy we did not feel like we were sitting on top of each other definitely 2 meters.Drinks arrived quickly, then the female manger Madeleine arrived to take our order, give us good advice as we need gluten free options order was taken with a bit of banter, great to see!Food arrived was amazing, chilli chicken, hot and sour chicken and roast beef, all hot a delicious! Well done to the chefs definitely 1st class.We the had the cheek to order desserts, apple crumble, pavlova and chocolate fudge cake yum!! Why not Boris was paying 1/2 the bill !We had a great meal and will definitely return we’ll done to all in LeWinters

I love this restaurant. The staff are lovely and always accommodating. Very attentive. We have been eating in Lewinters for the last few years with family and friends after being disappointed with other places, I can honestly say that the food is lovely, always fresh, plenty of locally sourced foods and always consistent. Having been a chef myself for nearly 20 years in such places as Hong Kong and Israel, I am very hard to please and have high standards where food and customer service are concerned. Thankfully Lewinters ticks all the boxes. Ed Bangor.

£13.50 for lasange & salad. No value at all in this restaurant. I don't think I'll be back, which is a pity, as the restaurant is in a centeal location for meeting friends.

Spent the evening at Le Winters for my 23rd birthday meal. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed both our starters and mains, the food was delicious! Also very impressed with how wonderful and accommodating the staff were, especially Darren. First time here and will definitely be back again!

Ordered chicken goujons and when they arrived they were overcooked and inedible also unseasoned and bland, garlic cubes were floating in butter with very little garlic. No taste of garlic at all.A rather underwhelming meal and overpriced for the poor quality of the food a very disappointing visit.

My son and I visited tonight for dinner, we went with the deal for 2 t.bones with all the trimmings. I asked for garlic chips as opposed to garlic cubes, I was informed that was not possible? I was informed the chips go soggy with garlic butter ? , really ? Do chips and cubes not all start out as potatoes? Well anyway settled for garlic cubes, food arrived, guess what I got ? PLAIN CHIPS! I then requested some garlic butter on the side, no problem I was informed. It was the added to the bill! Really Le Winters? I dine here regularly as do my parents, I know it was only a pound but this sort of trivial crap really puts me off. No tip left.

We are frequent visitors on a Sunday when kids eat free. Menu has a vast and varied selection and is well priced. Scampi and Texan burgers are favourites with us. Side order portion sizes can be hit and miss on occasions. Would like to see a bit of garnish on plates as this previously used to be the case. Staff are very friendly and attentive.

We are regular customers and have always found both food and service to a very high standard.Our favourite dining experience is in the library part of the restaurant which needs to be reserved and their special daily promotions are great value eg,T-bone steak or sirloin with all the trimmings.Having sat down and ordered drinks/meal we thought we had been transported to the bar area due to 6 people seated drinking and enmating very loud screams,laughter, and loud banter.They were also visited by friends and the noise got worse.It certainly spoiled our night and the other diners who were not pleased by the antics of mature adults who thought it was party time..They consumed no food in the 1.5 hours we were there.Staff were not really interested in my comments regarding their customers behavior and the restaurant staffs inaction. only for this problem it would warrant 5 stars
