We came here to celebrate our anniversary. This is the second time we have been and it won’t be the last. We had a two night stay and chose the same room as last year as the view from our window is lovely. The food and choice is excellent. The service is great and good value for money. The staff made our stay, especially the two young woman we saw both days for breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very helpful and informative as to where to spend the days out. Our thanks to all the staff.

Used to visit here a lot when my father-in-law was alive, six years ago. Certainly gone downhill and so disappointed. Went for Sunday roast turkey. It consisted of a a small slice of ham and only a slightly larger slice of turkey. It was on a huge pile of mash and the 2 roast potatoes, although crisp, were uncooked inside. Had to ask for cranberry. The stuffing was literally put on plate with a teaspoon.I’m certainly not a big eater but I left Pier 36 hungry. Certainly wasn’t going to order a dessert and experience more disappointment. For £19 it was a disgrace. To add insult to injury there wasn’t any toilet paper in the loo. I mentioned to waitress and she said she’d mention it.

**Couldn't review on Bangor Eats** Really disappointing. Ordered lasagne and chips on Friday. The delivery was quick and the driver was pleasant. The food was inedible. There was no sauce in the lasagne so it was bone dry. There was no lasagne sheets apart from the top one. The rest looked like they'd used the broken bits that are left in the box. The meat was also really fatty. Ate about a quarter of it before giving up. I ordered chunky chips instead of fries, and I got a large portion of what tasted like extra special, cheapest price, discount chips. No point in a large portion when the taste is bad. I ended up making myself a cheese toastie instead. I'll be avoiding this place from now on. £17+ on swill. Revolting.

All four took the Portavogie Scampi and Chips and they were great. A couple of us had the pavlova which was okay apart from the orange with peel attached on the top. Why on earth would anyone want to do this to a pavlova? The place was quite busy bit the service was good. Definitely one to return to.

While recognisable to many as The Commodore from the TV series Hope Street, Pier 36 has now been feeding visitors to Donaghadee for about 25 years. We stopped off for lunch in the large downstairs bar / restaurant and, as usual, were treated to an excellent meal that came in huge country-style portions. The seafood is excellent - the calamari starter was delicious, as were our scampi and fish and chips mains. While we hadn't booked, we were offered a table immediately by the friendly staff. The service was very good and regarded the cost as very reasonable for quality and size of the meal.

We have eaten here many times in the past. Called in yesterday for the pensioners deal. We both ordered chicken stack. We've had this meal many times before, including the previous week and always nice. We also ordered a portion of chips between us. The chips ( all twelve of them including crispy bits )came in the smallest bowl I have ever seen at a price of £4.00. The meal looked different and when I bit into the chicken it felt like biting gristle, very unpleasant. I hasten to add my wife's meal was fine. I think it was the manager who asked if all was well. I told him about the chicken and his response was " I've just been told how tender it is. He offered to replace the meal which I accepted. It arrived and was better. Didn't get my six chips replaced though! I came away feeling that I wasn't believed about the chicken. I doubt if I will be back.

A mistake I will not make again, I can't express how disappointed I am, being a local from the area, this would be one of the places I would have recommended but unfortunately it's just a tourist trap. I took my in law's to Pier 36 for food, but I will never be back, the worst service I have ever experienced. We said we were in for food, no one came near us with menus, the only people that came near us were to stand on the sofas we were seated at to try and turn on the TV above us, after 3 failed attempts a staff member had said 'you'll have to wait' to locals in for a pint, honestly we didn't mind but the tone it was said in I wasn't pleased (we were clearly an inconvenience to you's), after 20mins we had to ask for menus, two pints in and still no one had taken our order, we also had to ask for our table to be wiped (which may I add where they seated us at), but yes barely wiped and with a dirty cloth, I honestly couldn't wait to leave the place, if I was alone I would have walked out. Once we received our food, we weren't checked on to see if everything was ok (where I would have said actually it's not the best, giving you's a chance to remedy the issue, but unfortunately no). As soon as we finished no one came near us to clear or check on us, in all honesty considered walking out at this point, and honestly I don't think any staff member would have noticed but I went to pay for the bill, another opportunity for staff to ask well how was everything for you?, but unfortunately no, here is your bill, so my last resort is leaving this review and my future disgust of the place.

We were a party of 10, two of our group tried to book a table earlier on that day but both were told we didn't need to book. When we arrived we were put at a very unsuitable table, as most of our guests were late 70s early 80s, we had to slide up and down the seating to get in and out. The meal was ok and the staff were lovely. As we paid our meal and left it wasn't until we got home we realised we had been overcharged by £8.40, my husband had asked for the receipt but he was only given the visa receipt. Dont think we will be in a hurry back.

Now to clarify my scores a little here. I knew when I booked I was staying in a pub run guest house. The only low point for me was the room. It wasn't expensive, it was perfectly clean, and I had a great night sleep. But for me it was a little dated. I would stay here again without any hesitation, but a little work even in the ensuite would really elevate it. The breakfast in the morning was great, with really good service. A proper big Ulster fry, just what I needed after the night before. It was still being used as a film set for the BBC, so some of the signage was.... interesting. There was ample off street parking at the rear, beside Copeland Distillery. A nice little beer garden out the back.

Had a couple of meals here recently, dinner and breakfast and all have been excellent. I saw a few Hope Street tourists but it's not let it all go to its head. ;-)

Stayed one night with breakfast included. Had a seaview room. It was so warm and cosy.Beds were comfortable and room facilities good. Breakfast next morning was lovely. The girl who served us was very pleasant and helpful. She even got me a small box to take the rest of my delicious granola home that couldn't finish. Great hearty breakfast. Will definitely be back 😊

I can’t comment on the rooms as I only had a meal but a great meal it was. Well done.

Seven of us had afternoon tea on Saturday 23/11/24 - amazing from start to finish. Excellent value for money, food was delicious and plentiful. Harrison’s staff always go above and beyond and made my six year old granddaughter feel so special. The best afternoon tea I have ever had - and I’ve had a few! Definitely highly recommend
