Always been a fan of the Freemount, great venue. Also great to see it grow, but within that the bouncers of the venue (especially the bald one with a ginger beard) will take it to the ground with their arrogance and attitude against genuine customers.

Gets very busy in here, have to shout out or lean in to each other if you want to have a conversation, but otherwise a very cool venue.

After an emotional day at my father's funeral I found myself wandering throughout the northern quarter, I was in a fragile emotional state and craved a drink to calm the nerves, as I stepped through the doors I heard the opening notes to Robbie Williams generation defining anthem "angels", this was always a favourite song of my father and so it brought back a rush of warm emotions, these positive feelings were unfortunately quickly replaced with panic as i began to realise they were not simply playing the studio recording through the speakers and had instead booked a band to perform. For the following 4 minutes and 25 seconds they proceeded to butcher a classic song, tears began to slowly stream down my face as I was forced to listen to such a treasured song was desecrated by a band of amateurs with no respect for Robbie's discography. I will never return and I fear I will never be able to listen to angels in the same way again, countless happy memories with my dearly departed father have now been forever soured for me. Guinness was quite nice though

What a fab place to go to in Manchester! Such great vibes and brilliant music! Benn in this weekend for daughter’s Hen weekend. Will definitely visit again! Owner gave us a free bottle of bubbly!

Out and about in Manchester with Albrecht. Have not been in this non real ale pub in many years but fancied a pint of Guinness. A very good choice. Albrecht had a pint of Estrella. £12.20 for the two pints. A one room pub taken back to the bare brick. A small rear outdoor area. Impressive spirit collection. Very friendly staff. The toucan murals take me back 60 years; we had metal trays with the Guinness toucans when I was a lad. ( sister still has them!) They do have live music. Pipped music was pretty damn good.

It has become a regular feature on a night out. The bartenders and bouncers look after their guests and provide a safe environment. Speedy service even on busy days. The live music is always enjoyable and fun. I have really begun to love this place. Also, there is so much seating inside and out (perfect for a nice sunny day). Drinks are always great!

Horrible experience, turned away at the door by power tripped bouncers, out birthday party was refused due to one person being too intoxicated, in which we were told to get them some food which we did, once we came back an hour later, we were then bombarded by questions in which we answered, accused of possessing cocain( which was a 5 pound note, and turned away, due to argumentive attitude( answering their questions) overall, just power tripped bouncers who will make your night out difficult if you contest their opinions!

Situado en el centro del barrio norte, este es un lugar impresionante con mucho a su favor. Siempre que salimos por esta zona este lugar recibe una visita y esperemos que la próxima no esté lejos. Tocan música excelente y esto le da al bar un ambiente estupendo. Se pone ocupado, pero todavía tiene una sensación relajada y trasera y parece atraer a una multitud sensata y madura. Tienen una gran variedad de bebidas y algunas cervezas realmente excelentes que están bien cuidados. Nos sirvieron de inmediato y el barman era agradable y amable. Tampoco es caro para el centro de la ciudad, que es otra razón para visitar.

Nice pub, very busy and not much bar staff. Difficult to get served even when stood at the bar. One of the few pubs serving Murphy’s.

The bar girl with long red hair and bad facial acne was very rude. Her attitude spoilt the atmosphere so my friends and I left immediately. I thought I had ordered an additional drink and wanted to clarify with her; she was speaking with her colleague and told me “I am having a conversation”. I run a business myself and know the issues with staffing and especially those that seem to have a chip on their shoulder. Good luck with this one, her mind clearly isn’t on the job. Try and recruit better staff in future. Give them an attitude test.

Tried to enter. I have a disability which makes me look like I cannot function “normally” I told this to the people on the door and they told me to eat more? Which doesn’t fix anything??? I feel like the staff could be trained for disabilities better.

Came here to meet some friends on a Saturday afternoon. It is popular! Great atmosphere but with that comes the fact that you have to queue at the bar for a long time. Friendly staff though and would drink here again.

I visited for the first time last night with my bossman, and we were impressed from the moment we walked in. The bouncer greeted us and held the door, which set a great tone right away. The ambiance was spot on—the temperature and lighting created the perfect vibe, and the music selection was excellent, on brand yet inclusive, set to a volume that still allowed for conversation. What really stood out, was the team. They were exceptional—warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and well-presented, all while clearly enjoying themselves. I walked in as a stranger and was treated as a friend. This is hospitality.

Cracking place. I ended up here after losing my friends. I met some great people who took care of me and got me to my hotel safe and sound. The atmosphere was very chilled, and the music was great. It's a really great crowd and relaxed place

Great bar & live music. Place was extremely busy and tough to move around in. Noticed the security guards were very pushy and sequentially was shoved into a table knocking drinks all over the place. Turned around and asked me to leave and didn’t want to hear anything else.

Bar staff absolutely fantastic, welcome patrons as they should do. Bouncers are totally inept, don’t talk to you as though you’re human. Get them gone, total jobsworths and extremely heavy handed.

Absolute blinding pint of Guinness. I visited at lunch time but the pub has a very cool vibe. I will definitely visit on a Saturday night, I have a hunch that this place would be rocking. Amazing atmosphere and it was the only club which was full on a Sunday night which means they know what they are doing! We had two cocktails for £12, the songs were amazing, it has a designated smoking area in the back and there are more than enough chairs to sit or leave your jackets! Absolutely recommend visiting this place if you are ever in Manchester!

Cuando el camarero decidió servirme, siguió adelante casualmente como si no me hubiera dejado pararme allí por lo que parecía un tiempo. Este individuo está decepcionando seriamente el bar ya que no necesitaré regresar. Trata a las personas adecuadamente o no encontrarán la necesidad de regresar.

This bar is amazing and the live performers are something else. Bar staff are great and Adam on glass collection was nothing short of being a genuine gentleman, definitely pop in and have a drink or two.

Great night Friday, two amazing singers & a box drummer. We were the oldest people in there but really enjoyed the atmosphere. Friendly,efficient staff & good prices. Bouncers high vis and vigilant so imagine would soon eject any trouble makers ( not tgat we saw any). Lots of people having a thoroughly good time.

Nice atmosphere on an otherwise quiet Tuesday night around Manchester. Only bar we could find with live music. Cross between mature audience & student vibes gave it a friendly feel. Steps down to the toilets are absolutely treacherous though, need a light at the top. Toilets themselves would be best described as rustic. But for a few pints & friendly atmosphere it hit the right notes

The ceiling is dripping, very smelly and sticky. Can’t leave the drink for a second to go to the bathroom, they’re immediately taken from the staff. No matter the drinks were full and we told that to the guy, he didn’t care.

I met with some work colleagues here yesterday, a Saturday afternoon. As I was travelling in on the train I was reading previous reviews of this place here on Google and I was wondering why this place had been picked, as some reviews made it sound horrendous. I can only think that those reviewers had been difficult customers, who subsequently had an axe to grind. The only thing that I do agree with some of those negative reviews on is that after a while you do notice that it does smell of washing that's been left in the washing machine too long post wash! This place has really friendly staff and an excellent vibe. A wide selection of beers and spirits, and an excellent music playlist; Wishing - A Flock of Seagulls, followed by April Skies - Jesus and Mary Chain, followed by Say Hello Wave Goodbye - Soft Cell, and a smattering of The Smiths, James, Inspirals etc throughout. I'd return just to listen to the music alone!

Door staff are amazing, 10/10 service, I come regularly and am never disappointed. Can always rely on it for a great time.

Seemed like it had a cool vibe for a Sunday night, but got told no ‘single person entry on weekends,’ and turned around at the door? I flew from America mate; what a wild rule for a Sunday night. I guess don’t try and go on your own unless it’s Monday-Thursday.

Came In last night with my friends for my birthday. My friend was feeling a bit tired, had a headache and rest her head for a couple of minutes. Was greeted by a not so lovely manager named Noah screaming ‘GET OUT’ over and over again. Tried to explain she wasn’t too intoxicated just tired but he wasn’t listening and carried on being very rude. Clearly very power tripped individual. Spoke to others who have visited this venue and heard nothing but rudeness that has come from this man. Very disappointing and ruined the night.

My wife and I visited here after an evening at the Frog and Bucket comedy club on February 24th. The standard of live music was excellent, the atmosphere convivial and lively, but the waiting time at the bar was lengthy. Would we return? Undoubtedly we would.

The venue was mostly clean, the table in the smoking area was a bit sticky but we may have jumped there straight after someone else.the drinks we good, live music and a nice atmosphere. I didn't eat so I'm sure the food was good but I'm not sure
