Came here for an early Lunch with my family. Staff were lovely and caring. Would highly recommend the lunch club deal! Good portion for good price :)

We had a cracking evening at The Swan in Martin Hussingtree! From the warm welcome to the last sip of wine, everything was spot on. The staff couldn’t have been more lovely – attentive without being intrusive, just as it should be. We both enjoyed a bottle of wine with our meals, which were absolutely superb. I tucked into the ‘Piggy Went to Market,’ and it was every bit as tasty as it sounds, while my wife had the blade of beef – melt-in-the-mouth perfection! Honestly, top marks all round. It’s rare to find a place that nails it on every level, but The Swan has absolutely done it. Can’t wait for our next visit. Cheers

The worst experience ever!! We decided to call in and try the food as we'd not been for a while. We both decided on sandwiches, mustard gammon and prawn and crayfish. We waited a long time and people that arrived after us were having their food before us, which was in itself surprising. The sandwiches came plated one on top of the other with a skewer holding them together, first impressions were that it looked lovely. My hubby took off the skewer and his first part of sandwich only to reveal there was a finger dressing impailed to the bottom sandwhich where the skewer had been. We both had taken a bite from the sandwich, but this immediately rang bells, this was absolutely disgusting. We told the waiting staff who did apologise and we said we could not eat any of it. They said they would scrap the bill and asked if we wanted anything else. It completely put us off wanting anything else. The waitress them came over and said the meals were scrapped but we still needed to pay for out drinks. I approached the bar and said, do we have to pay for the drinks then, she said she would take two off leaving a tab of £13.90, I paid the bill and left fuming, hungry and will never visit there again. I will be making a formal complaint. Avoid this place, absolutely disgusting !!!!!

Highly recommend The Swan for a good breakfast, lots of choice, beautifully fresh and cooked well. We have visited at different times for breakfast, tea and cake, Sunday lunch and evening meals. All of the meals have been delicious and the service first class. If you haven’t been give The Swan a try, we will definitely be going back.

Went for the breakfast deal of a sandwich and coffee a last weekend at £5. We were very impressed and enjoyed our breakfast. Today, we went back to have the same deal. We enjoyed our breakfast but when the bill arrived it was double the price. I questioned this and was today that the deal wasn’t on a weekend. I told them we had this deal a weekend before and was told it depends who served us, as to whether we got the deal! I checked the website and it says the deal is on everyday. We will not be returning and were not impressed with the attitude of staff member. You could go to this restaurant and have no idea how much you are going to pay! We will not be returning.

What a disappointment after reading the reviews and looking at the online menu. Turns out they have changed the menu, reduced the prices presumably because the quality is reduced too? £18.95 for Sunday lunch. Roast beef was full of gristle and the roast potatoes were so dry and boring. Charged £1 for a Yorkshire pudding. Loads of staff standing around but we weren’t even given a menu for our booked table. Told staff about the beef but no action taken, just an embarrassed apology. Won’t be going again….

First time we have been here since the refurbishment & new owners. We stopped by for Breakfast, it was fantastic. A well stacked plate of food, may have been better on a slightly bigger plate, but the ingredients were of great quality & very tasty. I also had an Americano coffee & my other half, she had an Orange juice, these were also excellent. We look forward to a return visit very soon.

We had the steak and Cajun prawn flatbread absolutely fantastic and great value. Kids had the fish and chips Ham egg and chips very very good, service was very good. Nice light and airy pub very clean tidy we will be back

Having seen the pub/restaurant had a 3.8 rating I wondered what was in store. Once we’d finished an absolutely first class meal I wondered why The Swan didn’t have a 5 Star rating? It appears that The Swan is now under new ownership and the not so positive ratings related to the previous regime. The team of Matt, Delilah and Alice ensured we had a superb meal on a Monday night - Steak Night. I’m not one given to exaggeration, but the ‘medium to well done’ rump steak was succulent and cooked to perfection. The other meal - that of the beef burger - was above and beyond expectations, with a combination of chorizo and spicy Nduja jam taking the culinary delights to a whole new level. We’d only given The Swan a try as it was en-route to home after a visit to the South West. It’ll be a different proposition in future as we’ll go out of our way to return - especially on Steak Nights of either Monday and Tuesday or, who knows, maybe even both. Thoroughly and highly recommended, the only downside being we don’t the place to be fully booked next time we want to dine!

On a very hot day it was lovely to be greeted by cool aircon and to receive a warm welcome from the friendly staff. We were a party of 20+ who had preordered. The quality of the food was very good. It could perhaps have been on the table a little quicker but accept that a large party takes some handling. Would certainly recommend to others and go again.

We were a large party of 24a good benue”. We had preordered which had all been handled efficiently beforehand. Everyone’s food was very much enjoyed. It was a hot day and many were tempted by the delicious cold desserts. Thanks to all the team!

I had a great meal tonight, I came with my sister in law for the steak deal but due to high demand the steaks were sold out. However, the menu didn't disappoint. The cod cheeks and scotch egg starters were lovely. My sister-in-law said her burger was amazing. I had the duck and it was melt in the mouth tasty. We can't wait to go back.

We went with friends for a meal, it was our first visit since it has re opened under new management. The last visit around a year ago was terrible so I was excited that it had been taken over and very much looking forward to the evening. Myself and one of our friends had the sharing fish platter which was amazing and the meals our other friends chose were also excellent however, not once did anyone bother to come and check if everything was ok or if we needed more drinks. A young member of staff eventually came over to ask if we had finished and took away half of the plates and didn’t come back, what seemed like an age later another member of staff brought a dessert menu and that was our chance to ask for another drink, we ordered our drinks and she brought the desert menus also, as we couldn’t decide what we wanted she said she would come back in about 5 minutes, she took the rest of the plates away and then didn’t come back! One of our party went to speak to the manager on duty and told him that we had really enjoyed the food but we’re not happy with the distinct lack of service and said we felt like there should be a discount on our meals. He agreed that he would give us a discount and then called some of the staff to have a word with them. After that we just got sly looks from the staff and no one bothered to come and speak to us or see if we wanted anything else. We went to ask for the bill and when another member of staff came with the card machine she was quite rude. Somebody had mentioned that there was a party of 30 in but on a number of occasions we saw groups of staff standing behind the bar just chatting. I was hopeful for a new local pub where we could go with other friends however, we will not be going there again or recommending it to anyone 🙁

Excellent food, served by staff who cared about what I wanted and what they were doing. All the food was great, with good portion sizes but a special mention goes to the tasty, well-filled fish pie. The only reason for not giving five stars was the lack of choice of non-alcoholic beers.

Been twice since it’s been under new management, once for lunch and today we went for breakfast. Lunch was amazing, all the food was so fresh and well presented and tasted amazing!!! The breakfast was absolutely lush this morning. Looks nice and classy inside Can’t wait to go again Well done obviously a great team !!

Not bad but could be fixed with some ambiance, low level lighting. The food itself was not bad. It’s pub food, with steaks, burgers and pies with the staple fish & chips. Basic food cooked ok.

Done up very nicely. Friendly staff. The food was good but very limited for vegetarians (and just a note, vegetarians don’t like vegan cheese so please avoid mixing vegetarian and vegan!)

We were excited to visit here for Breakfast after the change in management, but were severely disappointed. Where do I begin… Firstly the fruit served with the waffle was mouldy. And yes there was just one waffle on the plate charged at £8.50. The staff tried to say it was dirt rather than mould; it was definitely mould as it was furry and green. The HP sauce was out of date since Nov 2023. The staff tried to explain it was because they re-use bottles. Never heard that excuse before! It’s concerning as the kitchen should be checking this on a regular basis so makes you wonder what else isn’t checked correctly. Feel sorry for the staff member who had clearly been told to lie in this situation. The bacon was as tough as rubber. The hash brown also tasted like it was cooked from frozen, certainly not freshly made like other restaurants in the same price range. No option to select how you want your egg cooked which is very odd. Apparently it had to be fried for the full English, even though they offer dishes with poached eggs, for example? Very strange. The ‘smoked salmon’ looked to be out of a tin. I actually asked my friend, who had ordered it, why they’d ordered tuna for breakfast as that’s what it looked like. Finally the service was incredibly slow, on a morning where there were only a couple of other diners. For context it took nearly 45 mins for the food to appear after making our order, with just one other small family in the restaurant. I don’t usually leave reviews, particularly as shocking as this one, but felt the need to when they’re charging sky high prices for substandard food and service. Overall a massive letdown and certainly won’t be returning.

I went here full of optimism for the new revamped restaurant and new menu. I’m sorry to say that I really didn’t enjoy my visit. It is nicely decorated but still had a cold feel to the place. It is a newer, smaller menu and the prices seem exceptionally high. I would have expected exceptional food however the chicken burger was as plain as you can get! A burger with a spicy sauce on top with a few fries a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato and a shred of onion with the obligatory coleslaw. We used to come here a lot but stopped as they were always running out of things. Not a good start for us when my husband ordered the Sauvignon blanc wine to be told that they had sold out. Very average for very high prices. I’m sorry but we won’t be returning.

I've really been looking forward to visiting the swan as now it's under new management. The prices were very high for what I ate. I ordered the fish and chips, £17.50 I thought it would be exceptional.. no the fish was tiny no bigger than the children's meal portion. Some of the groups had cake again in extremely small portions. The chicken goujon starter came on a plate with no trimmings ,just that with a spoon of dip. We finally asked for the bill again we checked this we had been charged for a large glass of wine and a coke which we never ordered. I then complained and we all had £3.00 in coins to hopefully entice a second visit.

What a transformation ! You walk into this beautifully refurbished pub (with still a waft of new paint in the air) to find a welcoming modern, airy and wonderfully clean, inviting interior - complete with an array of enticing looking cakes on offer ! We called in for lunch the first Monday after it opened. The place was buzzing and the staff were warm, friendly as well as efficient. The food was great quality, served piping hot and in mighty generous portions. My premium quality bangers and mash were delicious and served with lashings of very tasty gravy and onions and buttery, smooth mash. My husband’s ham, egg and chips were also great both in quality and quantity. What a metamorphosis! The difference between the old owners and the new is like night and day ! How wonderful to have at last a great place to go to on the Northern outskirts of the city.

Came for a sunday roast with my partner recently. Food and size portion was good. Abigail was particularly lovely and helpful as were most of the young servers on shift. Seemed that they were running the place! Definitely seemed thin on the ground for staff, no managers seemed to be helping out, however, the staff that served us were amazing!

Visited as a family of 8 including 2 small children. Greeted by friendly guy ( the new manager I believe). High chairs were quickly found for the children. Served by friendly staff who was more than happy to check about certain foods being soya free for one of the children , in fact he checked a couple of times to be absolutely sure because of severe allergy to soya.Food arrived fairly promptly ( it was 3pm on a sunday afternoon & quite quiet in there)All food was good & enjoyed by everyone.It would be helpful & maybe a good idea if steak knives could be provided with the steak dishes.The only slight disappointment was the awful odour in the mother & baby changing room, It was clean & tidy but smelt really really bad!I hope that the new management team continue their good work in improving this local pub

Came for a Sunday lunch and was impressed with the service, especially from Toby! Very friendly and efficient, and the food was lovely too, no complaints at all. Portion sizes were very decent and it was all pretty tasty. Nice atmosphere, will definitely be back again.

Visited this evening with Family and our 9 month old puppy. Very welcoming. Food good quality, served promptly by friendly staff. Our 3rd visit to this establishment and never had a bad meal. A clean and efficiently run establishment. Will definitely visit again.

We came out for an early dinner and really enjoyed the food and service. We had a sharer and 2 mains, both came out promptly as well as our drink order! Staff were friendly and made our date very enjoyable!

Went midweek, was very quiet so got seated quickly. Ordered drinks straight away which arrived promptly. Food order was then taken and it didn’t take long to arrive. All very tasty, there were 5 off us and we all really enjoyed it. Our waiter, Toby, was really friendly and attentive. All round a good experience and we will be back!

Had planned to visit the Swan today as live fairly locally but had never been before. Pleased to see a 30% voucher off main meals which was a pleasant little bonus. Service impeccable, good choice of food on the menu. Rotisserie chicken was fabulous. Facilities clean, comfortable and welcoming. Contacted family members to recommend straight after my visit.

On arrival, we were taken to a lovely table by the fire which was a bonus as it was a chilly night! We ordered drinks and food at the table . No getting up! The food arrived quickly and was piping hot and presented really well. The waiters did a table check. The food was absolutely delicious.

Haven't been to The Swan for a couple of years so as our kitchen is being renovated we decided to head out for an evening meal. We arrived early than planned and our table was waiting which was great. Service was spot on to be honest...just the food was a bit hit & miss. I had rotisserie chicken which was nice if a little tough, gravy was nice. Hubby had mixed grill...only complaint was the egg which was overcooked & peas looked like they'd been under a heater for far too long. We had desserts & I ordered the strawberry clotted cream cheesecake...was so disappointed because it was basically a square that was so so tiny..2 mouthfuls and it was gone & that cost me £5. Think you really need to give a more generous portion for that price. As I said service was great, drinks ordered & delivered quickly.

We walked in and noticed how cold the place was, The young man took our drinks order 2 ciders and a coke, he returned with one cider and one coke, we ordered rotisserie chicken, mine was with hard dry mash, and roasted vegetables but i ordered seasonal veg and the gravy was cold and jellified. My husbands corn on the cob was cold and sticky, i did knock my coke over and the young man replaced it free of charge,the place was very quiet and thought the meals would of been better , you need a new chef

A friendly greeting and good service with great value for money and fantastic food with good size meals, we will definitely be going again 10 out of 10. Lovely home hearted place

I visited at the beginning December along with 15 colleagues from work for our Christmas meal. It was a shambles from start to finish. Despite ordering our meals two weeks previously, there was not enough food to fulfill our menu choices. Some of the food had obviously been kept warm for a long time as the sauce was congealed. Sprouts and pigs in blankets came out when most of us had finished eating. Management would not come near us, instead they sent young waiters to apologise. I note that there are a lot of negative similar reviews from around the same time that we visited and a few very good ones, which I suspect are not genuine! Would not recommend and will not re visit.

After visiting the swan various times over the years, it was sad to have to leave a negative review. The food was cooked well, but there were items missing from the plate which we weren’t advised on. The waiter Harvey was a very obnoxious young man, which if I’m honest he is the reason I am leaving the review.His cocky attitude was just not necessary. Training is defiantly required.

Came with my family and enjoyed starter, mains and desserts all at a reasonable price. The tagliatelle was delicious and the burger was perfectly cooked. Plenty of chips as well. The fish wasn't dry and the batter very tasty. My son enjoyed the chocolate brownie sundae the most. Will definitely be returning.

I honestly never bother with writing reviews, but felt I need to let people know how bad this pub is. We arrived a lunch time 10th December 2021, and wondered why the car park was so empty, hindsight is a wonderful thing. We were greeted by a young man who asked if we had booked a table. I replied no do we need to, as I looked around at an almost empty pub. My wife and I were shown to a two seater table cramped in the corner about 1 foot away from another couple already eating. I asked if we could have a table with a bit more room ( COVID safety obviously very low on this pubs priority). We ordered our drinks and 2 x steak and ale pie meals. I have no idea what was wrong with my real ale pint, but all I could taste was a cleaning chemical. When the food arrived I thought this looks good and I am really hungry so I am going to enjoy this. That was until I tired the the broccoli, it stank like fish and tasted rotten. Pushing this assigned I poured my meagre gravy ration over the pie and tucked in. The pie was bland with no taste of ale and the the mash was of the consistency of wall paper paste. When the young waiter asked if everything was ok, I explained about the broccoli. To our amazement he acknowledged the fact and walked off nodding. During our meal another couple were shown to the table that we had refused, meaning 90% of the customer base was seated in 10% of the pub. So close we can have all held hands and spread the COVID joy. We asked for the bill and again the young waiter asked if all was ok apart from the broccoli will laughing about it. I couldn’t even be bothered to explain how bad the food and drink was, I just paid the ransom and left, never to return.

On the 4th of December , we had our Christmas meal all pre ordered and deposits paid weeks in advance . It was the worst service I’ve ever encountered. As a pharmacy who has worked through lockdown we were looking forward to a jolly festive time , but what we experienced as a group of 15 was nothing more than shambolic1. Some people don’t get meals they ordered having to order of main menu , missing out on their turkey meal as they hadn’t enough . Bowl of sprouts amd pigs in blankets came out after meals had been eaten2. No management came to apologise , leaving it to the young staff members who are all new to deal with . 3. As a group of 15 I asked when booking if they could cater for us which they said yes only to arrive to find we had been split onto seperate tables The management from this pub should be replaced as they are running a good pub into the ground Will not be venturing to this pub till management replaced AVOID at all costs

Visited 4/12/21 and oh boy was this bad. We’ve visited previously and it’s been a fine place to eat. However there were several issues with our experience tonight:1. Saturday night is normally busy, but it didn’t seem like there were enough staff to manage it. We learned pretty much everyone was new so we gave the benefit of the doubt to some, but another is was my next problem.2. Half the staff contributed nothing to the experience of the guests. I get that you’re new, but it doesn’t take a genius to see a sinking ship and continue playing with your hair (one waitress in particular was playing it like a flute which has got to be some health code violation). Tables needed cleaning, food needed running, and drinks need preparing and that all got delayed, causing the third and biggest issue of the night.3. The food was slow and not worth the wait. Speaking to other tables, they waited 1h30 to 2 hours and did not get anything. Our starters were average at best, with a cold soup being the star. Then the mains, which took over an hour. The chicken dishes both came out cold, which we think were plated and left to die in the window for 10 minutes. I apologise it’s long winded so I’ll write a brief summary for those who don’t have the time.All in all, the new staff need a lot of work for this place to stay popular. Slow, useless service marred our experience. The only saving grace was that Strictly was on!

visited the swan today 4/12/21 to meet up with family, who we don't see that often as it takes nearly an hour to get there. after a long wait the starters arrived which were ok, then after another long wait our xmas lunches came, only the potatoes and meat was warm, veg all cold, to get another drink, we had to shout for a waitress to come to us, although puddings had been ordered there was no sign of them, by now we had been here 2 hours, puddings where chased but after a further 10 mins, nothing so we cancelled our order and asked for the bill, it was not busy the time that we were in there, and most of the staff were standing around, pity no one came to ask if the meals were ok. A very disappointing experience, that wont be done again.

Called in on way home. Staff not friendly sat us at our table had to wait half hour to place order by stopping staff then he moaned about how busy he had been all day. Food came was really nice. We then waited 20 minutes I then went to the bar to order to be told by the manger someone would be with me in a min. Had to wait another 20 minutes by this time gave up.Spoke to manger who didn't really seem to care. If the place was busy I could understand but there was only three tables. Will not be visiting again

We ate here whilst seeing family in the area. We were quickly greeted and shown to our table. Drinks order was taken quickly and we didn't wait too long for the drinks. Our food order was taken and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. The menu is 'Pub' Grub' but I found the portion size was on the large size. I got the gammon and it was cooked nicely with little fat on. Good choice of desserts as well. I would highly recommend the jam roly poly

We had booked a family party for 8 of us tonight at The Swan, we arrived 20 minutes early but this was no problem at all. The table was all ready for us and they had set up balloons and some happy Birthday banners. We had some of the amazing platters to start with (like tapas) and then we had some fresh rotisserie chicken that we saw the chef take from the oven 10 minutes before we got our food and it was absolutely delicious. The children also loved the nachos and chocolate brownie Sunday after. Would like to thank Ali who has just taken over as the new manager and Trudy as well for the great service. Looked after us all night and made a big fuss. We can’t wait to go back and good luck Ali, the plans you have sound great and we can’t wait to see them come into place.

Booked a table for early evening on a Friday. This is a pub restaurant who specialise in Rotisserie Chicken and make a big deal of this on their menu - please remember this fact whilst reading. We arrived 10 minutes early to a quiet, 25% full pub and were met at the door by a gum-chewing young lady - not the best first impression, but hey-ho. Taken to our table and told on the way, of several items on the menu not available - OK no problem. Handed a menu, but no offer to take drinks order, no mention of how it works - they come to the table, you go to the bar, etc. - nothing. after 10 minutes waiting to order a drink, I went to the bar and was told it was table service - I asked if someone would come and take our order and 5 minutes or so later, the same girl arrived. Took a drink order and we both ordered - wait for it - rotisserie chicken with some standard side dishes. Told there would be a 20 minute wait for the chicken - this was OK with us. Then - we waited almost 0 minutes for our drinks to arrive - nothing fancy, just a couple of beers. Then -- after we had been waiting the 20 minutes, another waitress came and apologised that there was no chicken. No chicken in a place that specialises in this - unbelievable - and what is worse, why had it taken 20 minutes from eventually taking our order to tell us. The waitress said the manager apologised and offered us a complimentary meal from what was left on the menu - which wasn't much to be honest. We turned down the complimentary meal and walked out. Absolutely staggering - the very worse place I have visited in many, many year. This was a Friday night and we live very local. I am always even-handed with my reviews, but this place needs to be avoided. For sure, we will not go there again -- EVER.

The Swan, has great parking good access and is comfortable inside. The food is good standard 'Pub Grub' with an emphasis on chicken. They cater for Vegans and Vegetarians as well as me! so thats our family sorted. We were particularly pleased with the service we received, even though they had quite a lot of customers to sort out they never lost sight of our needs.

Stopped on spec for lunch. Good menu choice, excellent service and reasonably priced in this post COVID economy. We were told upon entry that a couple of items were not available, which was sensible and professional. There is nothing more frustrating than perusing a menu for 5 minutes only to be told that your choice is off!. Well done staff Also it seems to be more common for pubs to serve ' ale ' at a mega chilled temperature no doubt to pander to the 'Yoof' market. Not so The Swan. The beer was served at ' celler' temperature, cool therefore allowing the flavour through. Well done again An enjoyable experience.

Came here for a lunch with the kids. Food seemed expensive for what is was. Sandwich was nice enough, a few chips chucked on no side salad or ant care taken. My oldest had a burger from the main menu which was over £10, very overcooked with one rasher of burnt bacon. Will not be returning

We rang to check we could just walk in and the manager said yes just come down, but when we got there and after we ordered our drinks they told us they had no chicken no steaks and no ham, he could of saved us a journey and told us over the phone

Arrived and checked in at 6.10pm (knew this as states on nhs app) Shown a table in garden and advised a member of staff would be over shortly to take order. No one came over for 40 minutes! Our little boy was happy playing on the playground in this time and bearing in mind other tables were outside I only saw members of staff taking food out in this time. No staff checking for customers wanting to order bearing in mind its table service by law! Eventually grabbed attention of member of staff who we ordered with and asked if we could order food as same time. She reluctantly agreed saying she would take order when drinks returned. As we had been waiting such a long time already, I insisted we ordered then as we were ready. I am appalled to say it got to 7pm and still even the drinks hadn't been brought over!! We decided to leave. If it took nearly an hour to get our drinks god knows how long it would take for the food!!!!I informed a member of staff on our way out that we weren't staying. She was very apologetic but too late I'm afraid. She blamed it on being too busy and being short staffed but seemed a cop out. There were about 5 tables in garden... hardly packed outside. Shocking management of a business.

Decided to venture back out to visit family in the area and popped to the Swan again after last visiting last year. Chicken on a spit yet again, tasty, hot and great value. The whole team here go above and beyond. Seems to me Tony & Andy are making it a great success didn't manage to catch him today as they were busy. But boys we will be back sooner rather than later this time especially now things are getting back to somewhat normal. Once again thank you all for your hospitality.

We visited the Swan as somewhere we used to visit with my mother in law, she is now confused in her old age, so wanted to go back where she may remember.Two of us had starters, no real issues although basic flavours, mains we ordered lamb shank, beefburgers and fish & chips. Although the food looked appetising, the flavours were really poor of cheap quality ingredients, clearly microwaved lamb shank, the beef burger tasted awful and smelt vile, quite putting me off. I ate my sweet potatoes fries and left the burger.We declined desserts as we couldn't cope with more awful food and the flavours had put us off.As we left my mother in law comment she hadn't enjoyed her meal, such a shame as it was her first time out for dinner in 12 months. My fault, I should have picked a better restaurant. Would not recommend, and will not return, sorry

Great afternoon in the lovely picturesque garden. Hardworking staff were friendly, attentive and enthusiastic. Food and drink was thoroughly enjoyable and reasonable priced. Pub was clean and tidy and the service was at a particular high standard.

We went here for bank Holiday Monday as a group of 8 family and friends. This was the first post lockdown meal at a pub we have had as a family meeting up and I was very impressed. The food was fresh and the service was fast, friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble despite the pub being very busy on a Bank holiday. We have people in our group with coeliac, a vegan and a young toddler. So catering for us when eating out can sometimes take longer than the usual family, as we like to ask about the menu etc. Andy the manager was excellent. He gave us his time and offered alternative suggestions and even gave us tips on nice places for a walk after. If I could give 6 stars I would ! We will be back. Thank you Swan hussingtree!

Visited today on a busy bank holiday Monday. Garden was full but staff still found us a table and couldn’t do enough for us. Great to see these new guys making a success after lockdown. Couldn’t fault anything today food was fantastic and great value. We will definitely be back.

Just left this pub after calling in for food and drinks, (Don't Bother!!), Shocking service and food Dried up salad and 2 small pieces of chicken For £9.25, waited 2o mins outside to to get table service had to go and find a member of staff, Sent food back untouched and went to speak to i believe a guy Gangling a bunch of keys from his trousers! He replied they had had a bad 12 months and were busy ( no more then 20 people in all) and was told to leave his business after paying my bill, He became extremely rude and aggressive.I will never return and Hope That Andy maybe can have some more Training from Marston's on Customer Service and maybe some anger management, He is a let down to other member's of staff that clearly are working hard.

The restaurant is was let down by the food.Food was cold, cold rice,(had to have a new plate recooked) also overcooked dry fish, cold peas, very poor , would definitely not return for food. Waiting staff were helpful and its nicely decorated. Lots of outdoor seating, would only return for a drink.

Came when they reopened and we weren’t disappointed it was absolutely fantastic. The food here is always good and tonight was no exception. The COVID safety was good and the service was spot on its a great place to eat and the atmosphere was lovely. We will be back and I would highly recommend

An amazing lunch here today. The team were so friendly. All covid procedures were put in place. Hand sanitiser freely available and masks were worn by everyone. The building is beautifully decorated for Christmas. It was so nice to go out for a meal finally in such a lovely environment.

Amazing lunch today at this pub, wonderful staff and service. Great value for money , I would highly recommend!

Came here for food it was fantastic I will certainly return we were welcomed with open arms by the new manager who made us feel right at home so thank you for your great hospitality

Visited yesterday, very impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant and the staff were all so friendly and attentive. Had the Half Roast rotisserie chicken was divine and piping hot. Think they have new managers, let's hope the standard of food stays this way, very different experience from our last visit. Well done team Swan!

Friday night meal and pub largely quiet. Felt Covid safe and friendly. We ordered a couple of starters and these were delicious, although small. Main problem after this was the quality of food service and the food itself. The manger/duty manager was clearly trying but the rest wasn’t up to scratch. Our mains took a considerably longer time than expected to arrive, with another table who ordered considerably after us getting served before us. When the food arrived, it was on piping hot plates but with three of the four having stone cold food on them. Onion rings were over done to a crisp, ditto the burgers. Waitress took food back and was apologetic and we got free garlic bread, which we had already declined as an apology. One of the four meals was fine so our daughter carried on eating whilst we waited for fresh food. This time, the food was piping hot. That said, for the price, it was of questionable quality. We’ve been several times in the past and always thought The Swan food value, but the new reduced menu is over £10 for a mediocre burger. Given the wait, we declined dessert and requested the bill. We had been given a reduction for the delay, But there were two errors on it and we’d been overcharged.

My wife visited yesterday, the food and service was fantastic, great tasting chicken and the impressive deserts! Will definitely be visiting again.

Visited for lunch yesterday and were impressed. 1. Food was lovely. I had pulled chicken tikka masala. It was delicious, not too spicy, just how I like it. My husband had grilled gammon, pineapple, chips and garden peas. He pronounced it delicious and cleaned his plate!2. Staff were excellent, friendly and efficient.3. Hash signs on all tables to enable self ordering, then everything is brought to your table by staff with face protection. 4. We felt safe. One way system in and out of pub, restaurant, toilets. Hand sanitiser at entrance and by toilets. QR code displayed for new Nhs test and trace.5. A bonus for us - the sun was shining all through and we sat at a garden table in the fresh air.Perfect lunch - thank you Chef and waiting staff at The Swan! Well done.

When we arrived we were greeted cordially asked to sanitise our hands and register on the Marstons app. we were shown to our table and told the wait time, which was just long enough to enjoy a drink and settle in. the tables were well spaced and the route around the pub was well marked out. perfect table service by very friendly staff who made us feel welcome. (we had my 83 year old mother-in-law with us so we are very covid alert) and they covered all the bases making us feel safe. the food was hot and excellent quality, we couldn't have asked for better. We have been to four different restaurant/pubs during this months offers but the Swan absolutely comes out tops. have booked again for next week, tried to book for this evening as well but sadly they're fully booked. in summary, excellent friendly staff, excellent tasty food, and excellent covid precautions we felt really safe.

Booked online for table for 3. Social distancing measures in place and staff were excellent. Took advantage of the eat in to help out scheme but won't hesitate to come again. Food was lovely...we all enjoyed it. Staff were great. Love The Swan and will return.

Nice tasty food and took full advantage of government scheme. Tables well set out and staff pleasant and careful but it is difficult to keep distance from staff who are serving. The lasagna was very tasty. Both of us happy with starters and mains.

Visited today at 12 noon. Ate indoors. Staff not wearing masks and leaning over people to take orders. Social distancing ignored. Tables way to close to one another. Table in window and adjacent table were 1 ft apart if that. Food average at best. Disabled toilet filthy and we were first to use it so it had been like that on opening. Bin in toilet overflowing. Tap broken. Couldn't wait to leave as felt very uncomfortable

Food was spot on, service was so 100% better . Gerard, front of house was polite, friendly and informative. Will now return on a regular basis. Thank you

Called in spontaneously for a bit to eat, was greeted at the door by Jarred warmly, he directed us to a area of the restaurant and wa brilliant with customer service! The girls were fast and attentive with the order (chloe & Ellie) The food was superb and will be returning, also amazingly clean and directions with this virus guidance are all visible! well done and thank you for a brilliant experience! Not very busy though and easy to social distance, perfect for those who are worried!! Thanks again

Came here after a house visit, really fancied chicken wings.My girlfriend had a burrito, which was very nice apparently. I wasn't really listening because I was foucused on the kitchen door, welcoming any movement with hungry anticipation.Then the moment came, 2 bowls of the wings I'd already tasted in my wet mouthed dream.Being an establishment that advertises it's chicken prowess, I was more than disappointed.The wings were *well* over cooked, I've used 2 asterisks to further emphasise my point.I don't understand how wings could be that dry? I was tempted to speak to the chef enquiring if long term storage was the goal.Please, please rectify this as I've visited before and it's been spot on (hence 2 stars not 1)Thanks

Visited this local pub as it was my daughters birthday and she wanted to go out for dinner. The food was okay but the portions were a bit lacking. The two children had burgers which they tell me were tasty. I had the lasagne which had a salad and garlic bread side. Again, food was tasty enough but the salad was more if a garnish (half a miniature cherry tomato, strip of red onion and 2 pieces of shredded lettuce) looked pathetic on the plate. Husband had the ham egg and chips which was the only meal that filled a plate. In summation, the food was okay but the presentation and size of the meal accompaniments was small. Not sure if we'll be back soon. The pub was also freezing cold. We all sat and ate with our costs on! Couldn't wait the get home.

Disappointing visit minor errors with meals though corrected were annoying. Mashed potatoes had hard skin on two meals I assume microwaved for too long have eaten there many times usually better than this.Alterations to menu appear to have made it a bit more expensive too doubt I would eat there again.

It was much better than average but not quite very good. The breaded mushrooms starter was slightly over cooked as couldn’t get fork into, so had to pick them up. But tasty.The gammons egg was again hard, but everything else was very tasty.Pleasant staff and good service. Will return.

We came on the 1st feb for a meal. We didn’t book and they could seat 9 of us with no problem! All of us said the food was wonderful and so were the staff! Thankyou will definitely be back again! Deffo will recommend! Staff made this experience better! Thankyou .

Generally we have always been very pleased with the food and the service and as I am lactose intolerant I have found them to cope better than a lot of places. Unfortunately had a bad experience on the last visit, which was made worse by it being so close to Christmas. I had a meal I'd had many times before and the staff as usual checked the book but within hours that I had symptoms which implied I'd consumed something I shouldn't have. For me this is more discomfort than dangerous but it upset my stomach enough to affect me during the Christmas period leaving me feeling sorry for myself. I emailed The Swan but sadly got no response, I expected more.

Popped into this pub for a bite to eat while my car being looked after by the garage next door.Three tables with customers so expected quick service and food well prepared.Ordered at the bar and all seemed great until the food arrivedSmall bite scampi, chips and mushy peas. Bear in mind they only charge about a fiver for this food.Chips and scampi were fine but the mushy peas!!! Microwaved to death (see photo)Guys even if you charge a small fee for food have some pride in what you put out to eat.Probably go into the garden centre next door next time

Me and my family ate here for the first time last weekend and really liked the place. Ive driven passed here hundreds of times and had intended to try it much sooner.The menu has plenty of options including a few less common ones such as the Cambodian vegetable curry which I ended up going for. It was very nice and highly recommended. My wife went for the veg pie which she raved about. Shes normally a pain when it comes to deciding what to eat but i think if we returned she would just be ordering this again she loved it that much.On top of the nice food I thought the pub was well kept, the staff was friendly and there a good size outdoor area with a play area that would be ideal in the summer.

Been here a few times, the restaurant is clean with friendly staff, although under staffed in my opinion as service can be quite slow. Food is usually good, have had a not so god meal here before but staff were quick to replace it. Will use again.
