Long wait for a drink it's a large bar but only served 1 side? Hence queuing. Barman moaning to a local about too many tourists turning up at once? How bizarre

Booked for 12.00 on arrival was not told where to go, on queuing for the carvery the food looked ok, sadly we left without eating it, the roast potatoes were warm up with black pepper all over them horrible taste, veg frozen chef used same knife to cut the pork as well as the beef he was not happy when I asked him to use new knife, already paid prior to getting food staffs attitude not nice at all, on leaving the waitress flew to our table slamming and banging our plates on top of each other don’t know why, they got their money it cost me £80 for 6 of us which is a lot if it’s not nice to the extent having to leave it, a lesson learnt

Booked the carvery late when staying at Butlins. A Google search found the pub offered a carvery. We called and booked for 8 people. When we arrived there a big queue for the carvery, but we took this as a good thing. 3 meats on offer, plus plenty of veg, gravy and added condiments. Food was 10/10 and we finished with 8 empty plates. Service was fantastic too. I definitely recommend!

This is normally the best sunday lunch in Minehead. But the last time it was not so great. We were met by a lady, clipboard in hand asking if we had booked for the carvery (no time to order a drink beforehand). Anyway we had booked and were allowed to go to the bar where our friends awaited us. To the meal, the meat was cooked well as always, but shock horror no roast potatoes left. Well out came a bowl swimming in oil with deep fried potatoes in, which marred the experience somewhat. But treated this as a one off as I said earlier this offers the best sunday lunch in Minehead.

Fairly easy to get to at the top end of town down the side street by "Costa" if you are new to the area. This is popular with visitors to "Butlins" on a Sunday afternoon as it is a 30 minute walk which takes you through the town. We called in for a carvery meal costing £13.95 which comprised just the main meal from which you could choose roast beef, pork or turkey with all the usual trimmings. Dessert is extra but nobody opted for that as we were all full. The vegetables kept coming from the kitchen as they were being taken from the serving trolley. My impression is that the Sunday carvery lunch is one of their best sellers with pool tables and dart boards to entertain you after the meal.

I was looking forward to treating my friends last Friday as Ive eaten here lots and struggled to chose a dish due to the deliciousness. Sitting quite smug imagine my horror when our meals came. My belly pork was tough as old boots with floppy crackling, lees fagotts were mediocre served with still frozen peas whilst Rhys's coleslaw just turned his tummy. Obviously change of chefs and managemenr. We voiced our feedback and they took on board. We left not wanting deserts and paid in full....just disappointed I gues it can only get better

Went here for a carvery without booking. Very busy place and people usually have to book as it's popular. Didn't take too long to pay and get carvery. I think there was a choice of four meats (beef, pork, turkey and can't remember the last meat). A small selection of veg and Yorkshire pudding. The gravy was nice and thick. I enjoyed my dinner but my wife's turkey was grissly which was disappointing other than that everything was good. There is an area for playing darts and snooker with music playing which was on the loud side but I would definitely go back again.

We have coming here while at Butlins for food for 10 years. Always found the food delicious. On this occasion we ordered a red Thai curry and a Green Thai Curry which on previous times was absolutely delicious. This time however was not very nice at all. No flavour of Thai , the green curry was a very strange colour and to be honest if we had been blindfolded we would never have know it was a Thai meal. I’m assuming it was a different chef . The pub itself is very nice so it’s a shame the food wasn’t up to scratch this time. I can’t comment on the other items on the menu though.

When the food did arrive the scampi was over cooked and burnt and one plate was missing the peas and we had no tartar sauce. We didn't want to send it back as we were all so hungry from waiting. We visited The Queens Head on a Saturday evening in May as we liked the sound of the Thai menu outside. Inside the place was dingy and almost deserted but we chose a table in a window where there was a bit of light and ordered two Thai green curries. We were very disappointed when they arrived as the curries looked greyish green and were very watery and the rice was compacted into a dry, tough mound. When we tried the curry we discovered that it was extremely hot with no discernible Thai flavours and consisted of almost entirely of potato, carrot and cauliflower which had been cooked so long that they turned to mush as we tried to eat.

We booked for the Carvery by Candlelight tonight to celebrate a friend's 80th birthday. I booked immediately I saw it advertised and was assured we could sit in the Conservatory. On arrival I was told they had moved us into the bar area and that they had tried to ring me several times but I had not answered the phone. No surprise there as they had written down the wrong phone number! Meats were very good but some of the veg were too al dente and cold. The only hot veg was the cauliflower cheese. When dessert arrived we asked for a fork as well as a spoon, only to be told they didn't have any forks available ??? We ordered coffee - 3 x Latte and one Americano. The lad came and said they had no Lattes so we all ended up with Americanos. Pub full of people and no Latte available, who does the ordering in this place, it's not as if it's an unusual request, all pubs, cafes and restaurants have Latte, but not the Babbling Brook. Been going to the BB for 8 years but suffice to say we won't be coming again, the Bistro up the road is where we will be spending our money in the future.
