Pleasant staff, good service, nice food

Booked a table for Mother’s Day as had a dog too and was very happy . I walked over from Watchet and enjoyed my roast beef . Different portion sizes good too . Will be going again

Lovely place to visit on a Sunday night. A local darts match was on which created a fantastic atmosphere. Great selection of drinks and comfy seats meant we stayed for alot more than the planned one we intended to

Fantastic local pub, been going here for years! A few things to note: This is not a food orientated pub and they only offer food on Sunday lunchtimes between 12:00-14:30 (which are very very good) and the occasional burger night on Fridays, Great beer, friendly staff and plenty of parking available. Plenty of facilities, a pool table, dart board, skittle alley and a small garden tucked away at the back for summer drinking.

Thankful that they fitted us in on a busy Friday night when other pubs along our route were full. Atmosphere is pretty standard, but service friendly and the food was good, if not exceptional. If you want a no-frills lunch or dinner in the area, then this is the place to go!

We were looking for food, but not available.

Friday afternoon visit . Clean and tidy but when we asked about food, we were told it was burger Friday,so just one option,burgers. Likewise with non alcoholic beers , considering they are roadside with a car park semi filled, just the one choice. No doubt very popular with locals but not somewhere to pop into on a whim.

I have stopped off here a few times on my way home. The staff are always friendly and there is a good selection of ales that change regularly. Nice to sit outside when the weather is good enough!

Great pub great atmosphere superb pool table and darts would have given 5 stars but will save the extra one until I've tried the food but as a pub 5 deffo!!

Nice local, good selection of beer cider and ales but the food is the real star here. Well worth popping in for lunch, traditional fayre and amazing pizzas. Give it a go you won't be disappointed

Mentioned in CAMRA good beer guide, so popped in for a pint on day out on West Somerset Railway. Very friendly and welcoming barman, happy to chat about ales & football. No food on, but some great ales, inc Exmoor Ale and Dartmoor Legend. Would recommend.

Very traditional, no non alcohol options. Sandwiches meat and fish only no vegetarian option White bread. But hospitable and friendly otherwise.

Stop for refreshments...fantastic pub If we did not have the car we would had stayed. A lovely traditional local Pub. We will be back again. A lovely pint .

What a lovely, relaxed dog-friendly pub, a real old English type hostelry where you can eat and drink in convivial surroundings - or you can just pop in and enjoy a cup of tea. Wonderful!!

Best beer, best landlords and the best darts team!

I would just like to say thank you to the gentleman in this morning even though they weren't open he opened up for us to allow my son to use the restroom. He saved my car seats and kept him happy.

Drinks were very cheap and the landlord was very friendly

We popped in for a drink being new to the area. All locals and very friendly. The only food that they do is Sunday lunch and takeaway but as a nice place for a drink it certainly ticks the box

My husband and I spent a couple of hours here in the day time. The service was excellent and the manager very friendly and polite. We had a lovely time here. With regards to Covid we felt completely safe and relaxed. All measures have been taken to ensure social distancing and cleanliness. Thank you 😊

If you can tear the barman away from his phone then you will find him knowledgeable and they serve a great pint of ale with a rotating policy. A fire on cold days would be welcoming and an area away from blaring music would be nice.

Had a fabulous night in the function room at a long term friends 60th birthday. However by day I came here for lunch with my dad. Sadly I wasn't impressed as the gammon and chips was greasy and I didn't enjoy it. You may well have a different experience as I've heard theres been developments

The only place I have found in Somerset where the serve beer with a proper head. Thank God for northern pub owners.

Took a group of 18 to the Railway today. Even though we were a large party food was piping hot. Nice choice of roast dinner, turkey, beef or pork with roasties and yorkshire pud. Had a lovely time, never been disappointed there. Very obliging.

This is a lovely little pub on the side of the road that did a fantastic Sunday lunch, great choice of 3 meats and large, small or children’s plates all well priced and dessert if you have room!

There were three meats - beef, pork and turkey - and you could have all three if you wished. Lovely fresh veg and Yorkshire pud plus extra gravy served in a jug. The meat portions were very generous and quality excellent. Two large meals are £15 or one for £10 and two small for £10, which were, in fact, more than enough for smaller appetites. Very friendly landlord. Desserts two for £5.

This is a great little pub offering a really good roast at only £5 for a small ( which was plenty for me) or £7.50 large. The beef was melt in the mouth, plenty of veg and gravy. Turkey and pork were also on offer. Very welcoming landlord. We were a party of 7 and a baby. It is just a roast, no starters or puds,but youndont beat it for great value

Hospitality is great and the atmosphere here is brilliant. Just a shame some of the younger adults could be a little more grown up. The staff and the pub are superb and would definitely go again.

booked in for sunday lunch. waited for 40 mins and they brought out 2 meals and we waited for the other 2 to arrive. was then told the meals were not ours and they took them away. waited again and they served another table that arrived after us first. i quired this and was told they had booked before us. when food finally arrived all microwaved up it was missing the stuffing. we asked the manager and he just said they had ran out. i cant understand this because you how many meals you prepare for. food average and the girl serving doesnt even smile or speak. avoid this place at all cost unless you want a long wait and poor customer servoce

Really a drinking pub, but worth going to for a well priced Sunday dinner! Leave the kids at home! Quite well decorated and furnished pub. Can be rowdy in the busier evenings.

my husband and I went for a lovely roast dinner on sunday at the railway inn. We had the roast beef with all the trimmings I have never seen so much beef on a plate and it wasn't slices it was chunks , melt in the mouth and really really tasty. The landlord made us feel very welcome it is a very friendly locals pub but you were made to feel welcome and not treated like an outsider. I know for a fact that when we are next in the area we will call in again shame it isn't nearer its about 100 miles from home Great value for money 2 big roasts and drinks for under £20

Went on a Sunday for a roast dinner. Was lovely and great value for money! They also accommodate children really well with a child's roast when asked! Will definitely be returning in the near future.

How happy we were before... Finally off to England, which was a very, very long-cherished wish for me personally, now came true. Once we got here, it quickly became clear to us that we didn't want to leave here anymore ;-) The condition of the facility left absolutely nothing to be desired. The rented caravan was well maintained, was a pleasant size, and had a wonderful view of the sea from the spacious veranda. The facilities were perfect and we had a good time after our day trips. A small snack on the way, then in the evening you can enjoy the cooking skills of your better half. What more could you want? Neighborhood exists, but everyone can actually be completely alone here. The foreign license plate didn't stop this either. The people, the landscape and the weather... everything is just right here. We are used to prejudices like “... it rains all the time!” because of our origins and homeland (Ruhr area). And just like what we “know” about our homeland, the knowledge and prejudices do not apply to this area of ​​England either. We were here in October 2016 and found that we didn't need our waterproof clothing on any of the days (unfortunately there were only 12 in total). We also had a good time in terms of temperatures. Sunny days: 10, Days with temperatures in the double-digit plus range: 12. Still questions? You can also experience pure history here without having to forego amenities. The train steamed romantically through the country or the numerous historic buildings could be admired and the pictures taken could then be moved to the cloud. Everything just fits. Friendly local pub. The landlord is a northerner, so he knows how to do his ales. Dogs are allowed in and even got treats. I think that this is the only pub in Williton that does not close in the afternoon. They serve Stella Artois too!

We popped into The Railway Way yesterday on the off chance we could get a roast dinner. While it is clearly a locals pub, my partner and I were made very welcome by the landlord (I assume). There was a choice of 3 meats and either a small or large dinner. We had 2 large dinners and a drink each for under £20. The quality and quantity of food was more than exceptable for the money and the service was great. We were lucky as we didn't book and they squeezed us in. Next time we will book. Many thanks

We stopped here this weekend when staying in the area and found the host very helpful and good service

Been in a few times just for a beer and enjoyed it, selection of beers is good, not one of your pubs that food comes first which is good, we had people to stay and thought Sunday lunch try it, 2 large Sunday lunches £15.00 bargain 2 Puds £5.00 can't argue with that. Enjoyed every mouth full. Certainly going back, and the beer is still good.

Called in here on a Sunday evening only to be told they do not do food on Sundays. having just had a makeover and advertising they are open it seemed a shame.Perhaps will try again.

Se detuvo a un paso rápido pinta en. Encontramos una encantadora casa local ale (raro estos días) y nos sorprendió descubrir la excelente comida en un comedor dedicado. Soy un anfitrión muy amable ine 'carácter, tiene, en su año de propiedad, logrado el equilibrio perfecto de varias cervezas que sirve excelente y cervezas locales de muchos personajes locales y los turistas de paso, y ofrece una buena selección de comida sana. Sin duda llamar en la próxima vez que estemos en la zona.

Just called in for a drink which was very reasonably priced compared to some of the other pubs in the area. Obviously does a good trade with the locals but was made to feel welcome.

Brilliant food, excellent service, stopped in for a pint and some lunch whilst moving house, fast and perfect service, what more could one want!

Visited The Railway Inn again today and took a couple of friends with us. They were really impressed with such a good meal and really friendly staff. The meat was tender and everything was great. We have now enquired about taking our church home group and it seems that nothing would be too much trouble. As we live just round the corner from the Inn,it's just a 5 minute walk for us.

I visited this pub last Sunday with my family for lunch and would like to say that I found the food excellent in both quality and value for money! Will definitely visit again soon.

visited here a few sundays ago. we ordered two large meals for £15 the food arrived and was an ok size portion. then a table of four arrived and sat on the table next to us, they ordered 4 small meals, when theres arrived they where huge! a lot bigger than ours. me and my friend where astounded! the quality of the meal was ok, the meat was delicious, however the roast potatos where very oily and the veg was undercooked. i probably wont be eating here again what a rip off!

We went to The Railway Inn for a Sunday lunch. The prices were two small for £10 or two large for £15. We decided on the large., Large it was with a choice of three meats. It was as much as we could eat.We live locally so we will certainly be going there again. We only went because our cooker had given up the ghost but so glad we did.

Monday nights hosts an informal, fun and challenging quiz night. Great laugh, only £1 per person to enter and free supper. What else can you do on a Monday night?

Popped down to the railway in after work on Sunday 16 th to sample there food, traditional roast dinner food, clean pub nice and quiet as we went at three so after dinner time rush, nice friendly people, pleasant hour spent there and no dishes to wash after.

Sunday lunch, two for £10....how can this be bettered? Tender meat, great veg not overlooked, lovely pub atmosphere. Can't do it better at home and we only live next door. Why bother when Lisa, Matt, family and staff can do it as well and so cheep. Great.

Took 15 vintage motorcyclists on a 50 mile Sunday morning tour of Exmoor and booked the Railway Arms for lunch. Very welcoming staff on our arrival. The group was split in two because of an accident (not one of ours) but they were happy to delay serving so we could all eat together. Food was lovely with VERY generous helpings and good choice of meats. Choice of three well kept local ales at under £3 a pint which is very cheap for around here. Possible the best juke box I've ever found in a pub. A proper local pub. Nothing pretentious just good value and welcoming.

Friendly service, good beer and cider, and very much a community asset. Nearby is the station for the West Somerset steam railway, and a yard where repairs are carried out to old rolling stock. West Somerset is, to my mind, the loveliest part of Britain.

We stopped off there as a last resort as we had been out allday and were getting hungry. Although it is not posh we took a change but was pleasantly surprised the food was very reasonable and good for the money. My husband had egg home cooked ham and chips and I had chick curry both very good and a sweet plus drinks and the bill was not more that £22

We had a nice evening in this pub.It is nothing spectacular,furnishings a bit '70's the clientele a bit spit & sawdust but the food is reasonable,simple but good portions well cooked. Price wise not bad and a reasonable atmosphere.

Was travelling through Williton and fancied a spot of lunch and came across the Railway. Food was lovely and some of the people in the bar are real character's. Will definitely be heading back soon to see what a Saturday night is like.

we were going to the masons but it was closed <it was about 4oclock> called into the railway, we should have left but did have a drink which we took outside the inside was scruffy and felt like it could do with a good cleaning!! will not call there again!!
