since they got a new landlady the pub has became a lot more friendly, fun and welcoming, food has gone from good to amazing new chef fresh food and good price, play area for kids with a slide, also dog friendly( kept separate from dining room) well recommended will not be disappointed, ordered salt and pepper chicken with fried rice, spring roll, curry sauce and salt and pepper chips and also got 2x kids chicken nuggets chips and beans and 1x kids cheese burger chips and beans.

Well what a change from our last visit. good food great staff. The people serving the food were well presented. Plates were hot and clean. One very little wing the veg could have been a little hotter. The meats were well cooked and the veg was well cooked. stopped coming to the windmill after Christmas due to how the place had gone very poor in food and staff. But I suggest any one that stopped going please give it a try you will be very happy with the changes.

Went with family for a meal. Staff very helpful and accomodating when we asked to change tables due to being near the door. The weather in particular that day was very windy and a huge gust was felt every time the door opened. The food was nice and plentiful including the menue choices along with the carvery. Will definitely be back again.

Took my mother here because it’s local to her & it used to be an ok pub but some of the locals you let in at a lunch time have disgusting language it was Saturday lunch with young children around just not a family pub anymore

Imagine a “community” pub that hates the community. Dogs relegated to the vault, even after food has stopped being served. No management discretion with these blanket rules. Jukebox removed from the vault and so only music in the main room. The vault is now like a morgue. A sham of a pub. This place will be flattened in a couple of years for yet more unaffordable housing. Hidden agenda? We’ve been in 3 other pubs today (Good Friday) and dogs welcomed everywhere. I could go on but what’s the point when the brewery don’t listen.

Visited Good Friday and was a vast improvement from the last time we visited which was around Christmas time. It seems that it could be under new management. Lovely food, great value, friendly staff. Kids enjoyed it as did we, thank you.

Great value and selection for breakfast, host was very friendly and helpful and especially nice to the kids, food is good quality and HOT which makes it even more enjoyable. Can’t complain, will be back again very soon 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Went in over the weekend, the day started out great but soon turned sour when we complained about the food, the young lady manager (Olivia) behind the bar was very rude and really unhelpful will not be returning again.

Only had drinks so can't comment on food but a nice friendly pub to get out of the cold.

Just had xmas dinner here, who ever is charge of the food needs to do their job properly. The Vegatables are the worse I have ever had. No proper service .cheap bit of paper cloth on table and lack of attention for cutlery. Gents toilet door inside needs a coat of paint. This place is slowly getting a really bad reputation. please do not send a standard reply.just do your job!!!

We have been going to the Windmill Dent on for three months and have no problems with the food at all. But we went on the 10/12/2023 for lunch and were disappointed. The meat was scrag ends the vegetables were cold and the plats were cold. but worst of all was the member of staff serving the food he was well past being hygienic his overall looked like he had been emptying the bins it was filthy.I am not normally a complainer but this needed to be highlighted. it will not stop us using the Windmill nothing can be perfect all the time but hygiene must come first at all times.

We came along for a meal for my birthday and we’re bowled over with how amazing the restaurant looks. The Manager always puts in a special effort to decorate at christmas. Fantastic warm welcome and great food and atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back here as it’s only a couple of minutes from my mother in laws house.

My wife and I travelled over to Tameside from Skegness for a family funeral. We entered the Windmill at 1130 to be told that breakfast service was over, even though the servery had eggs, sausage, bacon and baked beans still sitting there. We ordered coffee and said we would wait till 12 o clock for a carvery. Ay 12 o clock, we went to queue at the carvery, which still had the remnants of the breakfast service on show. At 1215, we were told by the catering staff, that we count could get our carvery, even though there was no sign of gravy, cranberry sauce etc. being the first two people in the queue, you would expect the food to be red hot! you would be wrong. Mash potatoes, tepid, carrots tepid, sprouts tepid, cauliflower tepid, roasties looked as though they been cooked earlier then warmed up, in fact, the only thing that was at the correct temperature, was the turkey that I chose. My wife and I regularly dine at the Jug and Bottle near Grimsby, which is a Stonehouse pub. We have never ever had to complain about anything, the food and the service are both excellent. As for The Windmill, we will never dine there again and I would suggest you get rid of the area manager for that pub, as the present one isnt doing there job properly.

Absolutely disgusting, we went here at 5pm and the food was cold on the carvery so was my fish, chips and peas when they arrived. The batter was pale in colour and I could see the fish through the batter, the chips were Lukewarm and the peas were cold and chewy. My husband said the Turkey was ok, the roast potatoes were like rocks and he was unable to cut through them. Everything was lukewarm and unfit for human consumption. I’m surprised the environment agency hasn’t shut this place down.

My daughters and myself wanted a early Christmas meal. We opted for the carvery with pigs n blankets. Ordered on the app with no problems. All three meats were lovely and moist plenty on your plate, all the veg was cooked perfect. Can say we enjoyed the food, The staff were very friendly Craig on the meats was a great guy he was talking to each one of us while he served. Emily who brought our drinks was very helpful. This is a friendly pub, part of a chain of pubs. It serves pub grub and specializes in pizza, burghers and a carvery. It's a regular meeting place for me and my friends; the staff are friendly and the food and drink prices are reasonable.

I went in on a Saturday and it was busy. I think that is always a good sign the food was amazing and the staff were absolutely brilliant I couldn't fault anything about it. I love going in the windmill.
