The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving British food

A very pleasant dinner experience was had with friends. The food was excellent and was accompanied by good friendly service. Prices were acceptable for the area, and menu choices were good.

My server was lovely and really friendly made my day! The food was lovely and perfect for a sunny beach day!!

Lovely staff, and amazing quality food! Never had a bad dish here. We visit regularly! A lovely quiet place to come and eat.

We sometimes stay at the hotel and have now tried eating at the restaurant twice. On both occasions we have been sorely disappointed. We had lunch there today and tried a mushroom tagliatelle served with garlic bread. The foods not cheap at 15 quid a go and we were expecting something decent. The first issue was that my garlic bread was cremated so I sent it back. Secondly the whole plate was so bland it was almost tasteless. If you are serving a pasta dish with mushrooms at its centre it needs to sing with the rich taste and interesting textures of mushroom, it needs to be well seasoned, it can be so very good. This dish was none if those things. I did say to the restaurant staff that it was pretty underwhelming but they seemed fairly blasé about the fact. In most good restaurants such poor feedback would illicit serious concern and possibly the attention of a restaurant manager, not so in the copperplate. I can only assume that they care little about the quality of their offering or there is no process for dealing with complaints. Considering a three course meal for two with a bottle of plonk is going to run to three digits in this place it’s really not good enough and I could not recommend.

Personal opinion, awful, terrible rude staff. Food not cooked properly and tea like nats pea. Paid over £20 for a child’s portion of ‘ on the turn ham, nearly hard centred tiny cheap eggs, watery weak tea and a small slice of school tray bake sponge. Because I dared mention to the girl behind the counter that school cake counts as a tray bake and not a cake and doesn’t warrant an extra £1 she ran off crying. ….. I didn’t raise my voice, I didn’t refuse to pay, I wasn’t rude, I pointed out IT IS A TRAYBAKE! The manager came out to tell me it was as a cake and another £1, then another woman came out and told me the same thing. By this time THEY were raising their voices, I tried to pay their upscaled price the original member of staff came out with popping her tears and checking tables, 2 members of staff were to my right laughing in my face! Then once I had paid I got a “ ITS NOT A TRAYBAKE ITS A CAKE, DON’T COME BACK HERE AGAIN! Trust me I won’t, you’re far too dramatic for me! Your ham and tea are awful, your fried eggs a cheap small and over cooked and your staff don’t know how to deal with customers! Tray bake was lovely though!!

This is one of our favourite places for snacks, meals and coffee. It is often very busy, but you can see if there’s a queue and it goes down very quickly. They are very adventurous with their soups! It’s a great way to discover new tastes. This was the first time we have visited with a small child and it’s a great choice in terms of value, facilities and friendly, helpful staff. Lots of locals attend here and that adds to the great atmosphere.

Me encontré en el sur de Londres y necesitaba algo de comida y un lugar para sentarse! Qué gran pub lleno de ambiente simplemente ruidoso que no podía oírse a sí mismo pensar gran personal muy buena comida.

Can't begin to say how bad this pub was, miserable landlady and landlord and the worst food I have ever not eaten. I say not eaten as we didn't get through even a quarter of the plate of awful food we were offered. My husband said the beer was okay but please don't bother with the food it REALLY ISNT WORTH IT.

Lovely little Caffe, great fresh food. Best coffee in town ,The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Deliciosa. Venimos aquí todo el tiempo después de un paseo por el bosque de Crawfordsburn o a la playa. Nunca he tenido una mala comida. Son muy agradables para la familia con comidas recién hechas para niños de buen tamaño. Gran variedad para la red. ¡Y si acaban de tomar café y un bollo... sus bollos de manzana y canela son irreales! No sé quién es el chef, pero para un café, la comida es definitivamente de calidad de restaurante. Aunque diré que la cafetería y el edificio son anticuados, la comida hace que todo valga la pena. Recomiendo sentarse afuera, muchos asientos al aire libre y un techo extensible si llueve. También admite mascotas.

The menu has become smaller and smaller, no specials were on. You can’t alter any of the meals. Paid over £9 for a sausage & egg sandwich which came with a serviette stuck to the bottom of it

Called in for lunch, the cakes in the cabinet looked appealing and pretty large as did the scones! But as it was lunch time we both opted for the chicken curry, rice and popadom as we thought looking at the other dishes on offer it would be ample…….wrong the mountain of very large grain rice was topped with a table spoonful of curry that contained four 25mm squares of chicken about 10mm thick, a small amount of vegetables and a bit of curry sauce……… talk about small portion ! @£12 it did not equal value for money, first time we’ve been to this establishment for lunch, had coffee and cake before never a complaint but that was ridiculous never again. Another nursery with a cafe close by is much better, portion size and cuisine! It’s back to Otters Nursery for me !

We had expected to have trouble finding a restaurant with a free table as today is Mothers' Day. There was an empty table here and as they were serving roast lamb we went in. The lamb was lean and there was a good selection of vegetables and new potatoes. For dessert, we both had a large slice of a delicious sticky toffee pudding, one with a very generous portion of ice cream and the other with custard.With a glass of wine too, the bill was very reasonable.

Un amigo habla muy bien de este establecimiento, así que lo visité ayer por la noche camino a una charla.La elección de los bocadillos era muy pobre. Aquellos en exhibición se veían muy seguros. Compré un sándwich y té (pero no había ni rodajas de limón ni jugo de limón para poner) y un miembro del personal me lo llevó al sótano.La desagradable música pop era tan fuerte que apagué mis audífonos.El inodoro era desagradable y el cable de la alarma NO estaba en condiciones.NO volveré hasta que instales un ascensor.

Salió en un almuerzo rápido. Pedí dos almuerzos express (sopa y sándwich servidos con ensalada, col y papas fritas. ¡Qué impresionado! La sopa de lentejas estaba deliciosa y los bocadillos muy frescos con un montón de relleno. Un almuerzo sustancial y sabroso por menos de £ 13 para dos personas junto con un gran servicio - no puede equivocarse.
