The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving British food

We were in Bude for a day and decided to have fish and chips for lunch. The staff were friendly and served us promptly and the food was very good. Fresh and abundant portions. Inside the restaurant was narrow but stretch out lengthways which wasn’t great but there was enough room for the 5 of us.

Avoid ! As previously stated had ups & downs over the years and it’s rock bottom now ! Inside grubby / dirty and outside area very very neglected too-don’t go !

Great venue for lunch, always busy, good food at reasonable prices. Until today, prices have risen, the place was half empty, the food still good but not exceptional so why the price hike? My breaded plaice with chips, peas and tartare sauce was £16.99! It was nice enough, not outstanding and available elsewhere in Sidmouth for a lot less. If they want more profit and less customers I think this approach will work, we will think twice before returning as there are many other places to eat locally that offer better value for similar food.

Tuve una experiencia terrible aquí hoy, no recomendaría a nadie que asista aquí hasta que el servicio al cliente y la calidad de la comida cambie. Tuvimos que esperar más de 10 minutos para ordenar cuando no estaba ocupado, entonces tuvimos que llamar al personal. Luego esperamos otros 20 minutos para que llegaran las bebidas y luego otros 20 minutos para que llegara la comida por un total de 40 minutos para que llegara todo (también tenemos que preguntar cuánto tardará en llegar la comida). Luego, cuando la comida llegó para un restaurante de tan alta calidad, la comida que llegó fue de calidad miserable. No recomendaría a nadie para probar aquí hasta que resuelvan esto a pesar de que anteriormente era mejor en el pasado.

Hi there, we attended a Diamond Wedding Anniversary party and very much enjoyed the food, atmosphere, venue and the gardens. Thanks very much to all the staff who were very helpful, and to the catering staff.

Best bacon sandwich I have eaten in years. Friendly and helpful staff. Let me know about all there local sourced food and where to buy it.

Shame the gammon is no longer on the menu, it was one of the best meals I’ve had! Having stayed several times and enjoyed it on numerous evenings I was disappointed it was no longer available.

Mother’s Day Sunday Lunch - fabulous, the beef was melt in the mouth. I have eaten in a lot of places and the last time ate beef as good as today was at The Dart Marina Hotel. The chef deserves a pat on the back and recognition of just how perfect that beef joint was cooked. All other dishes were tasty and portion size was really good. Selection for picky Autistic Son who hates roasts was a real bonus. Not all places offer off the menu items on Sundays. Desert selection great - berries still a little frozen on top of desert but easy fix. Think just needed taking out of freezer a bit earlier. Minor issue but worth noting. Staff were very friendly could have asked for deserts choices a little quicker. Asked for a Shandy and got a larger ! Think younger staff not aware of what a shandy is . Didn’t make a fuss drank what we were given. Dinning room was very warm could have done with windows open. Bar door was open which did give some relief. It’s a lovely light filled room . A lot of competition locally ,but after today’s meal I think you are top of the leader board. Wherever you get your beef from - keep them supplying you :-) Complementary glass of fizzy was a lovely touch. Thank you so much for a really lovely meal.

Went for Sunday lunch to celebrate with a friend who was 66 on the Monday. Booked in for 1230 arrived just a few minutes earlier met with a warm welcome and shown to our table Placed our food order at the bar and got drinks delivered to the table Food was delivered to our table a few minutes later and what a wonderful display of food some ordered beef and some pork and it was all absolutely delicious couldn’t believe how good it was. I would like to thank the chef and all the staff especially the landlady who made our visit so enjoyable. We will definitely be back here very soon.

The staff at The Boars Head were super accommodating and really patient with me while booking a large group for an outing with colleagues. The service when we got there was excellent and the food was good sized portions and tasted delicious. We had a great time and the atmosphere in the pub was relaxed with quiet background music.

Lovely pub with friendly staff and a range of seating areas. Meals looked appetising as they were carried through to the dining area nearest to us.

Had seen a sign advertising the Raven on several occasions and went in for a meal yesterday!! Staff were friendly and helpful, food was excellent!! Typical country pub in a great location, menu has a good selection catering for all tastes! We had a great meal; would definitely recommend and we shall be eating there again!!
