A wonderful welcoming country pub of the very best sort! Best pint we had in ages. Truly, this is everything you could wish for. Highly recommend a visit. It's an absolute jewel!

We have had lunch here man times and have been disappointed my wife had fish and chips and I had the steak and onion pie both were excellent. Plenty of parking space with a full bar service and very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Waited for 15 minutes to be served whilst two staff members chatted to customers who had already eaten and were leaving. After this time we decided to leave as no one had taken out order. As we were leaving the staff member apologized and asked if she could take our order, so we returned to our seat. Another member of staff then came over and told us they had not got what we had ordered and started clearing the table, banging the crockery and told us that we must have arrived at a busy moment and had gone unnoticed. The attitude of this staff member was the final straw and I told them to cancel the order and we left. If it had been busy I could understand, but they were just chatting to a customer. Then having an attitude to customers due to their inefficiency is totally unacceptable. Unless you are a regular, don’t waste your time and money. Rude staff, I won’t return.

Nice cup of tea and scone served by very lovely staff. We walked fast after our tour to get the table by the window! What beautiful views. The lady serving us told us about sea life and birds we might spot and offered us use of the binoculars. She was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. She offered extra hot water for our tea and chatted with us. Lovely. Would visit again if we were in the area.

Amazing fish & chips, staff are very friendly. Wish they would take card payments though, it’s 2025!

El ambiente era encantador y relajante. Personal amable. Nos vendió el pastel de pescado 🐟 pero estaba decepcionado de que no tenía más verduras con él. Sabroso, pero no era suficiente para el precio.

Elegido aquí para la cena del domingo con la familia. Ligeramente decepcionado ya que el personal parecía estar atento cuando llegamos por primera vez y luego nos sentimos abandonados. El pedido fue tomado para la comida después de 15 minutos de llegar, pero luego tuvo que esperar casi una hora para nuestra red y tuvo que preguntar como cada otra mesa estaban comiendo. La comida llegó y era abundante, sin embargo, se sirvió tibia en lugar de caliente. Creemos que nos habían olvidado. Volverá en una fecha posterior y espero recibir un servicio más atento la próxima vez.

Staff were friendly as always. We've been using the eatery for about 10 years even during Covid and it's always been really good. Something has happened because today we went in for breakfast and I had poached egg on toast the eggs weren't cooked properly and the bread was claggy not nice and last week I had soup and a sandwich and the bread was claggy and the soup tasted of nothing really disappointed will be rethinking my eating plans I'm afraid.

We stayed here for 1 night and it was really lovely. As a family of 5 it can be tricky to find rooms big enough and to have that option here was great. The room was spacious and plenty of room for a double, 2 singles and a pull out bed too. Lovely big bathroom too with a great bath and shower. Room was spotlessly clean and super fluffy towels. We ate in the restaurant and also had breakfast the following morning. The portion sizes were generous and the food delicious. The breakfast was great, excellent quality of food and most of all the staff were all friendly and welcoming. Great stay and we will definitely be back.

We visited The Castle for a family funeral. The staff were incredibly attentive and couldn't do enough for us. A special mention to Rose, who did a superb job running the bar and serving food. The pub has a good atmosphere and would be good for a casual meal or a quick pint.

Been using farmhouse a while now but prices keep going up yet last pork rolls seemed to be very thinly cut pork and dry not usual standard will try again but also depends on the prices

Popped in here while passing and was not disappointed. Good value and excellent quality food. Great service and friendly staff. Get there early if you want a seat as its so popular!

Over £4 for a small hot chocolate made with water not milk! Very disappointing. I could have made a better one at home with instant powder!

Nine of us ate here. Staff were welcoming , friendly and helpful. The menu was varied and extensive. Everyone enjoyed their food. I had haddock. It was large and beautifully fresh. Well worth a visit.

It was busy, which we get, and we appreciated getting a table. However the bar person when we reached the front of the bar, started talking to the person behind me (who she knew). After she finished serving her other customer, she then served him, even though he was stood behind me. I pointed out that she was serving the person behind me, which she clearly didn't appreciate. She then gave him 2 free drink tokens as he said his friends were in the Great Run. She then served me, clearly unhappy with my comment, and when we asked abut the free drink for the half marathon runners (1 person out of the 5 drinks we ordered), she said "we're not doing that any more". Very poor service to treat customers like this, she could have just said, sorry, it's really busy and I'm trying to keep up, rather than sulk at customers. Good beer, bad service.
