Nice cup of tea and scone served by very lovely staff. We walked fast after our tour to get the table by the window! What beautiful views. The lady serving us told us about sea life and birds we might spot and offered us use of the binoculars. She was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. She offered extra hot water for our tea and chatted with us. Lovely. Would visit again if we were in the area.

Lovely home-baking including a light-as-air gluten-free cake. Really friendly, helpful staff who encouraged us just to ask if we needed more milk or hot water for the teas (we did and it was no problem at all). Currently they're only doing teas, coffees and cakes/scones (all looked very good) as insufficient staff to do lunches so do check by phoning before you go (website is out of date!). Nice and clean, good views over the sea.

We live locally and always go to the cafe for either a coffee and cake or lunch. The staff rotate and are always helpful. The views are fantastic although some of the binoculars don't work. We are always disappointed when it closes over winter, as we have to find somewhere else to go.

This is the worst cafe I have ever visited. Yes the views are amazing but the food and staff and the whole business layout was a disgrace. A black board stated soup and sandwiches and that was it.. No filling choices, no prices, no information what soup of the day was. No menus on table so no. Idea how much anything cost. Two members of staff weren't friendly especially the young man. Felt like we were a nuisance and he had better things to do. We weren't the only people who felt this way with people having to wait too long for hot drinks and walking out. Food came and kids sandwiches were same price as adults but they got no crisps or side salad with theirs. Absolutely disgraceful. Bowl too shallow hardly any soup. Gentleman used our table to place a tray of hot drinks on to them take to another table? He had no idea how to wait on a table. Couldn't get out of there quick enough. Brought up with management but they don't care. Presume it's family or friends they have hired. Turns out. Lots of complaints about cafe but they don't wish to hire in New people Or make positive changes. Lighthouse museum amazing. Do not eat at cafe. So many nicer cafes in area and u get a better feed, atmosphere and friendlier service

Enjoyed tea & toast/scone this morning but there were nice cakes and snacks available catering for different requirements. The staff were very friendly and helpful, food was freshly made & reasonably priced. Baked potatoes, sandwiches and toasties with various fillings or Mac cheese with salad was on todays menu. Great sea view overlooking West shore with boats passing, didn't see the recent Orcas but have seen dolphins in the past from there. Plenty parking available & an option to visit the lighthouse or gift shop.

No gluten free bread and wouldn’t make me a side salad as “too busy” . Took ages for it to come - two bowls of soup, one ham and tomato sandwich with crisps (because they couldn’t do side salads) and two coffees...and the shallow bowl of soup without bread £4...so really expensive for not much served really slow and dietary needs not catered for at all contrary to website (no soya milk either). Really poor...

If you end your tour of the museum and it is lunchtime, lucky you. Quick and easy. They have burgers and toasters and specials of the day. You can simply have tea, coffee, cold drink and a dessert. Also, you don't have to have a lighthouse tour to come. Simply come. Not badly priced. It's clean and friendly.

We had lunch here after our visit to lighthouse museum, we couldn't have treated better. They were still recovering from a large private function held earlier, but produced freshly made sandwiches and cakes, served promptly by friendly, smiling staff. We got the corner table, sadly the day was hazy so we didn't get the full benefit of the views but can't blame the cafe for the weather!

You don’t have to visit the Lighthouse Museum in order to eat at the café, although many visitors do stop there for lunch or drinks before or after their tour. The views from the first floor picture windows across the sea are stunning, although so much glass can make the window corner with the best views quite hot. There are binoculars you can borrow to look out to sea. Food is good, although the service can be a bit haphazard. Our drinks were forgotten and we had to ask twice before they came. The café had a steady stream of visitors during the Saturday lunch period.

The cafe is light and clean and has a wonderful view of the sea. I can only assume that the reason we encountered what we did was that our visit was out of season. There were no menus, just a very limited number of items on a board, but with no prices shown. We went for the tea and carrot cake. The tea was actually quite good, but the cake was obviously bought-in and not the greatest. It's worth a visit for the view and the cleanliness!

A small cafe attached to the lighthouse museum has what you need to while away a wet hour or two before returning to the car. A grand view out of the windows onto the coast below is supplemented by a decent menu and tasty food , only downside we had was the service which for a half empty cafe in June was so slow , almost to the point where I was going to complain to the young lad behind the counter but then our paninis arrived.

A lovely little cafe in the museum, with lovely views over the sea. It's nice and cosy and offers a basic range of food, including gluten free bread if needed. The only slight issue we had was that we ordered two hot chocolates, which state on the menu that they come with cream and marshmallows, but the waitress seemed confused when we questioned the fact that she gave them to us without. Quickly sorted though and not too much of a problem! Also would be great if just one of the lovely looking cakes could be made gluten free, to offer more choice for coeliac customers!

I like this tearoom very much, and the view is spectacular, but on my latest visit I asked for a baked potato, which is on the menu on the table, but was told they didn't have them that day. As it was the Easter weekend I thought they might have had the full range of choice that is on the menu. Given that I had driven 46 miles specifically to have a baked potato, it was a bit disappointing. That said, the soup I had instead was very nice (cauliflower and broccoli) and came with a little jug of cream which added to it. My ham sandwich was acceptable but nothing special. They do however have an impressive range of cakes and traybakes, and the one I had was delicious. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I will keep coming here, but please get some more potatoes in, and if you could consider offering them with beans and cheese rather than just cheese, that would be a bonus too. It's just more tasty.

We visited the museum of Scottish Lighthouses on a very wet and cold Thursday in August. We happened across the tearoom and decided to get some lunch. We got one of the last tables. The menu isn't extensive, mainly toasties, jacket potatoes and then a couple of specials including soup, but the food is good quality and freshly cooked. The view from the tearoom over the sea is great and you have the chance to spot dolphins or even a minky whale ( as we did). The best thing about this tearoom is the staff. They are very friend,y and accommodating, with nothing being too much trouble. It got extremely busy while we were there and the staff rearranged the furniture several times to accommodate different sized groups. Later when we returned for cakes (which were delicious) the waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful when we were looking for Dolphins. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit

Wonderful view and located upstairs within the lighthouse museum close to the fantastic heritage centre. My girlfriend ordered a chocolate milkshake, the drink that arrived did not look like a chocolate milkshake (it was white), and it did not taste like a milkshake either according to her. She brought it to the attention of the waitress who added some powder to it which did not enhance the flavour. The soup and sandwich was okay, but the little extra things like the lack of home made coleslaw for example is what in my opinion keeps the lighthouse cafe apart from the high standards of other cafes in town.My review is based on several recent visits here.

The Lighthouse proved to be a lovely surprise during a recent visit to Fraserburgh. There's the museum and shop and then upstairs to a delightful cafe with a beautiful view over the sea.The menu wasn't extensive but offered light lunches and teas and coffee and delicious looking cakes. There were two kinds of soup so we had a bowl of each and shared a tuna sandwich which came with crisps. We were pleased with our choices and found the service fast and friendly.Next time I'm in the area I plan to go for coffee and cake.

This evening my friends and I were out to enjoy ourselves having a lovely meal. But that did not go to plan, as we had to wait 2 and a half hours for our food! (one of my friends order a steak which was flavourless and the other order a starter which was completely disregarded when asked about) Although waiter was very accommodating and trying his best to make our meals come quicker, the whole place is severely understaffed causing backups throughout the whole restaurant. As our food was taking a long time we were told we could leave and not wanting to deal with us in that regard. Overall I am very disappointed in the service I received this evening, either this place has to cut down it customer intake or find a way to accommodate this volume of people.

We were there during the Haal festival and the restaurant was very efficiently run and the food was great.

Lovely food served by lovely staff. Great meal and very tasty food, well presented. Even put candles in the desserts for the birthday boys. Thank you Buchan Braes.

We had the most amazing afternoon tea experience in the Bubble. We can't praise the Banff Springs highly enough. This was a mini 'hen party ' and so much thought had gone into making this so special for the bride to be. Beautifully decorated, Beth and her team looked after us so well. The quality of the food and drinks was outstanding. A lovely afternoon was had by all. Highly recommend! A big thank you to all involved!

Good things : This cafe is in a great location and offers plenty of seating outside which is ideal for those with dogs. Not so good things : The coffee was ok although pricey for the size of cup. Cakes were nice enough, but had too much buttercream icing. Bad things : The layout of the tables inside is a bit congested. The volume and choice of music appears to be for the benefit of the staff because we, and those around us at other tables, to raise our voices to have a conversation.
