Firstly, apologies for the picture - I had to tuck in! Fantastic atmosphere! Beers and lagers to choose from with seasonal options to choose from. Hosts are welcoming and friendly to children, making sure families feel comfortable and happy. The special was beef and ale pie (Bishop's Finger Ale) on minted mushy peas. Absolutely fantastic! Homemade and steaming hot - perfect for a cold winter night. The Sebastopol held their treasure hunt which saw teams exploring the local villages to find a variety of fun clues through a beautiful part of Lincolnshire.

Brilliant place. We went for the jam session (last Saturday of each month) and it was brilliant. The excellent food is called 'bar food', but is definitely more than that, and all at a very reasonable price! I recommend the lamb kebab, carne pizza, or meatballs. However, The Sebastopol offers excellent specials ad hoc which are well worth a go when available. Guests are made to feel welcome inside, whether new or returning, and facilities are clean and hygienic. All set in a beautiful part of the world. The venue also offer B&B for visitors looking to stay. I have not visited these but they are well rated, too.

Fantastic pub in a beautiful village. Everyone inside was friendly and welcoming. Landlords were keen to discuss the history of the pub and ensured we were conformable and taken care of. Our three year old was welcomed and the Landlords made a fuss of him as if he were a regular. The dinner menu offers brilliant variety for a very reasonable price. We had the special of the day which was homemade steak and ale pie with minted Mushy peas. Absolutely fantastic! Well presented, exceptional taste and hygienic.

Exceptionally friendly owners and staff, wanting to please. However, not sure if it was an off day but service was slow with big gaps inbetween courses. Food was evidently microwaved to nuclear temperatures. Plates seemed to be salad plates, such that the Yorkshire pudding was in the middle of the beef, with the gravy already poured over it without been asked, and evidently out of a packet.... Ahhh, Busto.

Had heard that the pub was newly opened with new management. So ignored the 17 bad reviews as the were old and booked a table. We were not disappointed. A lovely newly renovated pub but they have kept its character. Very friendly staff and a wonderful meal. Proper pie, wonderful home made burgers and fresh fish and chips. This used to be our favourite eating place a number of years ago and it will probably work its way right back into our affections under the new owners. We went for lunch and found the enterprising menu varied and a more imaginative than many local pubs. our choices were all delicious. Partner said the beer was beautifully kept. Wendy is a warm and welcoming landlady and coped extremely efficiently with the steady stream of customers, most outside in the sun, some of us inside in the cool. The whole premises are immaculate. We heard that the Pub had recently re-opened and wanted somewhere to have a drink on a nice summer evening. We tried to find a website to look at the menu but could only find a page that said the pub was closed in 2016. We ventured out nevertheless. On arrival the pub is very welll presented with a lovely tidy exterior. On entering the bar we ordered a spritzer and a dry white wine. I was quite shocked that the large white wine was made up from the end of a bottle of Pierre lecasse Sauvignon blanc and then topped up (more than half the glass) with a waters edge Chardonnay. I felt this to be totally unacceptable so we sat in the garden drank our drinks and left not wanting to try the food.

My friend and I were staying at a nearby farmhouse and decided to give Sebastopol's a try.The owners are very friendly and welcoming and the interior characterful and cozy. I had a leek starter followed by a steambeam main. The main course was a very generous size. The triple cooked chips really did taste it; very crisp and crunchy. For dessert it was the meringue, lemon and thyme. The Italian meringues which tasted of thyme were the highlight but it was although a lovely pud.I was very pleasantly surprised by the bill. For this quality of food and service you would expect to pay a lot more in Cambridgeshire. Next time I'm in the area a return visit would be a must.

My wife and I came across the Sebastopol completely by accident, and what a pleasant surprise. A very pretty setting and a warm welcome. The menu is not extensive, but this is not a criticism. I am always very suspicious when I see a huge choice on a menu. The prices are, at first glance, expensive. Given the standard of cooking, though, not extortionate.I had the Sirloin and my wife the Turbot, both meals were well presented, cooked beautifully and very tasty. The championing of local produce is to be applauded. However, with food cooked to this standard, at the prices stated, there will always be a compromise. The compromise here is portion size. Turbot is the King of Fish, and to have this on at around £15, you know you're not going to get much of it. The steak the same. This had been cooked using the sous vide method, I believe (as had the egg yolks, beautiful). The steak really should have been double the thickness in order to show off this process fully, and a touch more colouring of the surface would have made it look better on the plate.Puddings were very nice, the rice pudding being the star.£60, with drinks, for a lunch seems a lot (I have paid more). We could have paid half of that elsewhere, and been stuffed to the gills. We wouldn't have enjoyed it anywhere near as much though, and there are cheaper things on the lunch menu.Would we go back? Yes, in short.

This restaurant positions itself as top of the range in this area. Whilst the food is undoubtably clever, I was disappointed in the whole with the enjoyment of the savory dishes and for that reason I have scored "average". The staff are to be commended in their friendliness and the venue is very good. I would suggest the inclusion of more traditional dishes cooked to the same degree of competance.

We were invited by friends to join their team for a quiz night. Having driven quite a way to reach the place, we were very grateful to receive such a friendly and welcoming reception. We had the traditional fish and chips but where the food really excelled was at the pudding stage. The flavours, combinations and appearance of the often deconstructed desserts were a triumph for a clearly talented chef.Unfortunately we didn't win the quiz! (The policy of doubling team scores before the marathon round means the leading team have their lead doubled making it almost impossible for the chasers to catch them!) all in all the result was secondary to the amount raised for the air ambulance so no hard feelings. On the list for any return to the area.

About 8.00pm whilst travelling to the East coast my wife suddenly felt an urgent need for food! Fortunately we soon came across a crossed 'fork & spoon' sign directing us to the Sepastopol Inn. After a short journey along quiet country lanes we arrived and were not disappointed. The Inn had a well lit exterior and was inviting. On entry to the small bar we were greeted by four locals and a dog, who were friendly and curious at the hesitant couple that entered. "Yes" food was available and menus soon appeared. By accident we had stumbled across a 'fine dining' establishment quite different from your usual pub. The menus gave us several choices and we entered into the spirit of our adventure. The evening was a success and we enjoyed it. It is however not the place if your need is large portions of 'stodge' at fast food prices. However if you are happy with excellently prepared dishes, that are not large in volume but unique, then this is an experience you will enjoy. The landlord will be your host and his son is the professional chef. On our visit we were served by a very attractive barmaid/waitress fresh from University who was busy seeking full time employment. If you are quick you may be lucky enough to catch her. When in the area we will call again.

Outwardly this appears to be a quaint pub nestled in the sleepy village of Minting, do not be fooled however, as the menu could be straight from a Michelin starred restaurant. This is very fine dining from a Chef at the top of their game, whom you have to applaud for their locally sourced and seasonal produce which is excellent. This harks back to how we used to eat before mass supermarkets took over and is about maximising the food that is available locally at the time, so go with an open mind and expect to experiment with different flavours and textures that you may not have tried before. If you're looking for standard pub grub then visit a Harvester, if you want something out of the ordinary and an outstanding dining experience then The Sebastopol Inn won't disappoint, in fact we rather think the taste sensations will blow your mind. A surprising but delightful place to eat, fantastic and knowledgeable staff in a glorious village pub setting.

Firstly I'd say definitely make a reservation as it's a small dining area and it's been full whenever I went there, any night of the week. I had heard people complaining about the prices here -- let's face it, they are much higher than people in the area are used to expecting. But then again, the type of cuisine you're getting is of a quality that justifies those prices. Having spent years living in London I would say this place easily rivals some of the top eateries of the capital, where you'd pay a lot more than they charge here. The menu contains a mixture of traditional British food and more adventurous dishes. The staff are helpful, happy to explain anything on the menu with no sense of condescension. My friend and I got involved in our conversation and stayed well past the time we should've left, but the staff were kind enough not to hassle us or make us feel in any way hurried. Definitely one of the few places in Lincolnshire I wouldn't hesitate to take a fussy guest!

This is not typical pub restaurant. The chef is somewhat alternative and is interested in unusual flavour combinations. So are brilliant and others would not be to everyones taste. We enjoyed it, but not everything on our plates. I think its going to be a 'marmite' case, some will love and some will hate it. My wife and I were invited to dinner by my brother and sister in law. I have eaten in many restaurants in my life and I can honestly say this was the worse meal I have ever had.Unfortunately we did not refer to tripadvisor before we tried the restaurant. Having now experienced the delights of the Sebastopol Inn I was amazed to find the number of positive reviews for this Inn. I would love to hear from these reviewers as I question the authenticity of some of the comments. For the main meal My wife and sister in law had the halibut which was a small portion of fish smothered in a lot of cabbage with a broth. The fish was dry, the dumpling was inedible and the cabbage was tough. My brother and I had beef neck which had been cooked for two days. It was minuscule in size, overlcooked and dry. It was also covered by the famous cabbage leaf. No side dishes arrived or were offered. The landlord was conspicuous by his absence when we reluctly paid the very expensive bill.We left the inn feeling, cheated, disappointed and hungry. This place is a complete rip off. They do not understand the concept of fine dining, which is a shame because the venue itself is quite nice.

The Sebastopol Inn is tucked away off the beaten track in beautiful Lincolnshire countryside. The building overlooks the very old village church and is a perfect setting especially on a summer's evening., It is a charming pub with a welcoming host and especially Snoopy the Westie. Immediately the cleanliness and elegant décor makes an impact. The menu choices are not the average pub grub and be prepared to have your food experiences challenged - stuffed and battered courgettes flowers - when did you last have that offered as a starter? Hogget? Beef neck? The menu is truly imaginative and well worth trying. The men in our party confirmed that the beer was perfect and the bottle of Merlot we enjoyed was excellent. All in all a very enjoyable meal and I can recommend a visit.

We just returned from the most incredibly delicious meal at The Sebastopol Inn. Having spent the afternoon walking in the area, we were planning to drive back to our cottage for dinner. However, after viewing the creative menu, we decided to try the dinner. We are very glad that we did. The presentation and quality of the food was superb and the blending of different flavours in each dish was exquisite. We had three courses. We are not good at reviews and would have a difficult time describing all the flavours in each dish, but we would gladly order each dish again. The meal rivals anything that we have had in London or North America. Our one regret is that we live so far away and will not be able to become regulars at The Sebastopol Inn.

Went with friends as I had read a review in a magazine. The staff were very welcoming and the location and decor great. The menu however seemed to be full of 'unique' dishes with overly complicated ingredients. Rabbit, Beef Neck, not lamb but not mutton with a name I can't remember. I had a fried egg with asparagus and bacon bits to start which was OK. For main I had halibut which was a small portion of fish smothered in a lot of cabbage with a broth. Not great. My friend had beef neck which had been cooked for two days but honestly didn't taste as good as a regular steak might have. Lemon meringue desert ( no pastry) was good. From my POV the menu was just too over the top, but obvious other reviews liked it. No return visit for me.

We went here as a family of five expecting a really lovely village pub meal. Looked at the menu and couldn't find anything but ended up having beef despite it not being something I would choose. Starter of ham hock and cod came out and we thought the owner was joking. Three oxo size cubes in pork pie jelly with two leafs came out! £6.50! My family members were equally as laughable. Main course came and we were expecting some sides to come with, NOTHING came. Dessert was nice, very limited menu for dessert to but what came was nice. For all this, came to £200!! Very very expensive and we had to have food when we came home. Owner was VERY pushy into what to eat and drink and clearly wanted to make a buck.

The food looks very pretty, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. If you want something that will look good on instagram then this is worth a visit. However, if you want quality, well cooked food, that tastes as good as it looks, then you should absolutely avoid the Sebastopol. We won't be back.

This is the second time that we've been to the Sebastopol and I was a bit concerned that it might disappoint because we'd enjoyed it so much the first time. I shouldn't have been concerned. The food, service and atmosphere were fantastic and one of our friends who joined us pronounced it the best meal he'd had in a very long time. All of the food was great (I loved the hogget) but we ordered another dark chocolate, rosemary and olive oil dessert because it was so good. I can only assume that those who gave it a poor review last week had turned up looking for fish and chips/sausage and mash and didn't appreciate the skill, care and attention that goes into the menu. We'll definitely be back.

This evening was such a let-down. The restaurant's website trumpets it's dedication to quality local produce, and leaves you with the expectation of a meal that is going to be most fulfilling. However, much of the cuisine we sampled was arty not hearty and, given that the menu only runs to 3 courses, half of our group were still hungry when we had finished. Not only hungry, but deeply unsatisfied by some of the dishes. The soup portions were amusingly tiny, but when the Sea Bass and Neck of Beef mains were similarly small it was clear that some of our party may require a snack on arrival home. The beef ("cooked for 48 hours") was lacking quality too. Other diners around us seemed similarly nonplussed by the fare. To be completely even-handed I must say that the sirloins from the specials board were very good, as were the desserts. What else can I say about it? The building is nicely restored, charming and simply rustic, though the location is far off the beaten track. The servers were all smart and polite, but le patron? His mood started at brusque, and descended through grumpy to surly. He really should not be front of house if he cannot be polite to guests. Even had the food been the best in the area, and it was nowhere near that accolade, I would still never return to the Sebastopol for this treatment.

Just spent £70 on a terrible meal. The soup was served from a jug into your bowl -dark green water is the best description. I actually had a very small piece of sea bass swimming in water with what can best be described as boiled cabbage leaves and some kind of dumplings. The black forest pudding was superb. The host obviously had the hump when he noticed we had left the main meal, and ignored us after that. Very over priced, pretentious, and a shame really. Worst meal we have ever had.

My brother-in-law was visiting from America so we took him out for a meal that had elements of traditional dishes but was presented with a twist - in an attractive manner. We all had delicious meals and enjoyed the experience. No one was rude to us, the landlord was welcoming and the staff efficient. The restaurant wasn't cheap but we chose it for the care taken in the presentation and the variety of dishes. Until we have a bad experience we will continue to recommend this inn.

My husband and I had our first 'date' at this pub back in 1981 - how times have changed for the better…..Back then it was a traditional 'drinking' pub but still excellent service and atmosphere (or maybe it was the company) This pub is now a 'fine dining' experience with food that could rival many top London Michelin kitchens (that we have been lucky enough to experience). This is not your 'everyday pub' but a real secret in the depths of Lincolnshire - although getting here may be considered remote for some the reward in making the journey is the quality and originality of the menu - it features so much local produce which should be applauded. Our meal which is from the current menu featured 'char' an Arctic fish - 3 day cooked beef neck from local Minting Park Farm along with Lop Pork Belly - totally amazing - and then a delicious dessert which includes a de-constructed "Marathon' bar the equivalent of todays Snickers bar.Nothing but praise for this venue - its not your usual 'local pub grub' there are no 'sides of vegetables' as many of the local pubs in this area provide but if you are looking for food cooked by a chef that respects local produce and creates dishes that are to 'die for' then give The Sebastopol a chance - you will not be disappointed :)

We had heard of the Sebastopol Inn via the grapevine, so decided on a wet cold Sunday Bank Holiday to try it out. We were a little worried at first thinking we were to be the only diners, which is never good, but need not have worried as we were soon joined by other diners. I think the first thing to say is this is not a pub to come to if you want a "large plate of grub" as was explained to us,the portions as not huge, so that you have room to taste all three courses. This was the case, and both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed all three courses, plus excellent coffee, and came out feeling comfortably full and very satisfied with our meal. The atmosphere was very welcoming and relaxed, not at all what I had expected, the toilet facilities were scrupulously clean, the lounge-waiting area extremely comfortable. It is not cheap, but well worth every pound you spend on food which is slightly different, but delicious. We will certainly go back one day. Thank you owner, chef and staff at the Sebastopol........

Visited the pub on a Saturday evening for a meet on a first date. Arrived at 8:30 and sat in the Bar area in comfy seats. However by 9:30 the dining room emptied and the landlord started closing the restaurant and some of the bar area, busying himself around us. Distinctively got the feeling that as we weren't going to spend money by ordering food he'd rather we leave and by 9:50 he covered the pumps and turned most of the lights off without saying anything. A local arrived at 10pm and landlord uncovered the pumps and told him he had just made it in time out loudly. We drank up and left. Surprised that the pub survives in this climate with that attitude. Certainly couldn't recommend it to anyone for a relaxing atmosphere.

Called in "on spec" to see what had happened to a regular haunt after 40 odd years. Pleasantly surprised to find a very comfortable gastro-pub. All well until the food arrived. Pigeon arrived almost raw and was sent back to the kitchen for remedy, when the plate reappeared the meat was completely ruined, shrunken to a third of its previous size and like rubber - inedible. Celeriac lasagne disappointing, celeriac undercooked and the flavours and textures within the dish just didn't work, particularly with the burnt shaved artichoke. I actually declined to pay for the meals, which I can't remember doing for many years. We discussed our disappointment with "mine host" who declared that the disappointment was our fault because we had chosen the wrong things from the menu! Rather patronisingly he lectured us on sous-vide cooking and pronounced that the pigeon was "very pink" not raw - bleeding meat is to my mind raw! I agreed to pay half the bill despite the meals not being eaten, I suggest that maybe more notice should be taken of positive feedback because some customers do actually know what they are taking about!

Family meal for 6. I think it's fair to say this place isn't meant for anyone who doesn't enjoy their meat. My meal started with Beef Carpaccio, followed by Pork Belly - absolutely delicious. The home made ice-cream (burned butter and peanut butter flavours) was amazing! One of our part was vegetarian - cold beetroot soup and a "lasagne" made of layered celeriac weren't particularly enjoyed. My personal view is the chef should reconsider the non-meat options. It was a nice, relaxing restaurant - no pressure to eat and vacate the table within a given time. Good range of wines and other drinks. Would go back (but probably won't bring the vegetarian with us next time!!)

It had been a few years since we last visited The Sebastopol. We had enjoyed it in the past but had heard that it had changed hands, and were a little worried that standards have been maintained. Our party of 4 were warmly welcomed by the new owners, the Reid family, and received excellent service throughout our visit. The food was exquisite. 4 different dishes, each full of flavour and enjoyably different. Portion sizes were perfectly judged for those with a moderate appetite, but I suspect that younger, more voracious, diners might be left needing to fill up at the end of the meal with the fine cheese platter! We would have liked (expected?) a small selection of seasonal vegetables to have been served with the meal, and this might have gone some way towards satisfying those with larger appetites. All in all, a great experience. We shall not leave it long before we return.

I have read some of the other reviews and wondered if I was at that same restaurant!Did not want the usual 'Sunday Roast' and having read the reviews thought this would be interestingly different...........it certainly was! We had a number of friends and thought this would be our 'treat' to them. The meals were small in size, possibly fine for an evening meal, but not for Sunday Lunch. Some of the vegetables were raw. Whilst I do not like them over cooked I certainly do not like them raw. Meat dishes were superbly tender, but regret non-meat dishes did not live up to expectation.Desserts, were small to say the least and everyone the had RAW rhubarb, could not eat any of it as it was so 'sharp'.So, all in all, thought it was extremely expensive, and everyone left wanting and hungry! None of our party would go back....

We have not been to the 'Sebastopol' for some time but were very glad to see that not only had the standard of the food remained consistent it had actually got better. We travelled over 25 miles and were not surprised that others often come over 40. Since our last visit we have visited many excellent restaurants in London and the UK as well as New England and the Southern States of the USA and it is not an overstatement to say that the meal we had today was as good if not better than these. Somewhat surprisingly perhaps, amongst the superlatives must be a mention of the caramelised cabbage served with pigeon and the rhubarb dessert to die for ,and all of this in the middle of nowhere in the middle of Lincolnshire. To say any more about this remarkable place might be superfluous. Go there and see for yourself, if you are disappointed you have obviously gone to the wrong place!

Like a frustrated school report I really feel this restaurant has great potential but doesn't quite try hard enough to be excellent. The menu can be very small and limiting, there are no variations of choice, service can be slow, the dog coming into the restaurant is annoying for some. When they get it right the food can be very good but it is not consistent and there is a feeling that on occasion the restaurant knows better than the client. Tables can be too close together.

We booked our Valentine evening here as the pub had recently won best pub food in Lincolnshire. The menu for the evening was a 5 course tasting menu which was emailed in advance. On first glance we noticed that most of the menu was served cold apart from the main course, which we found a little odd seeing as it was the month of February! My girlfriend also noticed that there was no alternative to the fish course, so as she doesn't eat fish I emailed the pub asking if they could provide an alternative? They were very obliging & said that the chef would think of something & would contact us again shortly. About a week later we were told that potted Pheasant would be provided instead of the Scallop dish. The actual pub is situated in the rural village of Minting. It was a little treacherous driving the unfamiliar tiny country roads in the dark, but once we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to see a lovely welcoming pub lit up in the middle of the village. On entry you can see the restaurant area on the left & the bar (with a real fire) on the right. We were greeted by the friendly barman, served drinks & presented with the menu to read whilst waiting to be seated in the restaurant area. We were booked for an 8:30pm sitting, but it was approximately 9pm when we were asked to make our way to the restaurant. This wasn't a problem though, as we were quite happy to chat & amuse ourselves watching the family dog (Snoopy?) run around the bar area showing off his little red bow-tie whilst wagging & yapping.Once seated in the restaurant, we found presented on the table some very nice bread & a small dish of oil / balsamic to dip into whilst waiting for the first course to arrive. I had the Beef tartare with yolk, cucumber, caper, dijon, & soda bread whilst my girlfriend had the Red cabbage gazpacho with apple, gribiche, & goats curd. Both were well presented, but neither dish tasted anything other than OK unfortunately. The second course was the Scallop ceviche, cucumber, & dill for myself & the potted Pheasant for the missus. The Scallop was served in the shell but hidden under a large dollop of foam. Unfortunately the foam had a nasty after taste & completely overpowered the delicate flavour of the scallop. However the Pheasant dish was enjoyed very much leaving a clean plate.Third courses consisted of a pork shoulder with burnt apple, celeriac, butter bean, sage, & cider for my girlfriend & I chose the Sirloin with onion, mushroom, ox tongue, bone marrow, & ale. Both were again presented well & equally tasted above par. The Sirloin was served pink (I was not asked how I like it) which was fine, but the fat did not appear to have been rendered & was not edible. The fourth course was the low point of the menu. It simply read … Apple, beetroot, lemon. We were presented with a glass containing mainly a purple foam. I asked the waitress what this course was?, but unfortunately she was unable to tell me! We both tasted the foam & then looked at each other with the same look of disappointment. It had a very earthy taste & was room temperature. Hidden underneath were small cubes of apple that had a hint of lemon which were very pleasing & delivered the required effect of cleansing the palette, but the foam was unpleasant. We noticed that nearly everyone else in the restaurant had also left the purple foam sitting in the glass too.The dessert course was Rape seed oil cake with blood orange, & vanilla marscapone for both of us (a forced Rhubarb crumble was the other option). The flavours worked very well together, with the tang of the blood orange cutting through the richness of the marscapone & the cake providing a pleasing texture. We thought the chef should have removed the skin of the orange that was attached to the small triangles of the flesh. My girlfriend removed them but I decided to eat them thinking that the chef wanted it to be eaten this way, unfortunately it took away from the zest the flesh delivered. The bill with drinks was just over £80, & overall it was an evening of mixed culinary experiences. We have to say we left a little disappointed. We were served 5 courses, 4 of which were intentionally cold, 2 were not enjoyable, 2 were OK & only 1 course lived up-to our expectations based on the accolades this pub has recently been awarded. We will return again & try the normal menu at some point, as we value the opinion of the great reviews left here on TA & that of the Tastes of Lincolnshire awards. Maybe the chef just had a bit of an off night last night?

I went with a friend about two weeks ago for a first visit to the Sebastopol for lunch. I say the first time, I had once been there about twenty years ago for a drink, when it was basically a drinkers pub well hidden for a long lock-in! Very characterful but not where one might chose to eat.Minting is a couple of miles off the main road but well worth the visit, the pub has been refurbished well and still retain some of the old character. Service was nice and relaxed and we both had the duck with red cabbage, which was excellent. The duck perfectly cooked and the red cabbage was excellent, I always feel its the mark of a good restaurant if it can make me like something about which I am normally fairly indifferent, which is certainly the case with red cabbage. Will definitely be looking to go back again soon.

Visited for the first time last night with 2 other couples. We love to try new places and this restaurant did not disappoint. A warm welcome from the patron and his very friendly black Labrador, an open wood log fire, and a cosy bar. The restaurant menu & wine list gave a varied choice & reasonable prices. All courses came beautifully prepared and no one in our group had any problem clearing their plates. If there was anything worth mentioning, background music in the restaurant would have been nice if you weren't in a group. All in all, a great gastro pub and worthy of a good trip advisor score. Thank you for a lovely evening The Sebastopol.

Having eaten at the Sebastapol numerous times over the last few years, I can confidently say that I've never had a meal there that wasn't absolutely excellent. The prices are on a par with what you'd pay in any establishment that offers freshly cooked, high quality locally sourced produce and the service is always friendly, polite and efficient. I visited earlier today and had the finest pheasant I've ever tasted, beautifully tender and full of flavour without being too gamey, served on a bed of kale with dabs of a delicious lemon purée and lardons. The menu changes regularly with the season and one gets the impression that the chef really takes a lot of pride in his work. Dishes are presented to a very high standard and cooked to perfection. The setting is very peaceful and in summer eating outside is very pleasant. Snoopy, the resident west highland terrier is a friendly character and adds to the soul of this family run establishment. The building is full of charm, tastefully decorated and is always immaculately clean.I would recommend calling ahead to confirm serving times and to ensure that there is a table available to avoid disappointment. Whilst Minting is a little off the beaten track, the Sebastapol Inn really makes the trip worthwhile.

Earlier this year we marked a milestone and decided on a Sunday lunch to celebrate. So we booked for 16 to 20 at the Sebastapol. The restaurant has been competing for the taste of Lincolnshire and sources local produce. always a good sign. A menu was agreed and reservations made, 17 of our guests arrived from Swindon, Oxford, Sheffield, Bracknel and Locally and we sat down to an excellent meal. Everything was cooked to perfection and thouroughly enjoyed. Everyone including baby grandson were made very welcome and had an excellent time. Overall an outstanding succcess and worth the highish price Food was a sure competition for another meal earlier in the year in Glossa on Skopeloss, Greece.

Cars were in the car park and the door was open. my husband went out of the car to check that it was still serving food. He came out about 2 mins later to be told that they were closed and that was it... even though people were still eating and the door was wide open. Hubby said that the man was very rude and that was that. Wast e of time getting to the place and would not recommend that anyone else makes the effort as it is not worth it.

We went specifically to this venue for breakfast. We ordered different breakfasts and made some changes to one of them with the helpful counter staff. The tea in the tea pot was cold and we took it back for a replacement hot tea pot. The breakfast was brought to us by a member of staff who did not smile or speak. Having ordered extra well done bacon we were surprised to note that it certainly hadn't been even well done. The plates were cold and so was half of the breakfast, the rest of it cooling rapidly. The toast and prepacked butter were placed on the top of the breakfast and we had to use our fingers to try and get them off the top, even though there was nowhere to put them (have they never heard of side plates)? All in all, very poor. Customer care is clearly not a priority.

Had a couple of roasts today which came with free desserts. Meal was lovely, fresh, hot, just what you expect. We was really happy with that.....but....half an hour after leaving we realised we had left a bag behind. Money, cards, car keys, medication, all stuff hard to replace when on holiday. We returned to the Windsor and the lady who was serving, cleaning etc said she saw the bag as soon as we left, so put it safe behind the counter. Panic over. We can't thank you enough xxx
