Lovely plaice this chippy would tell anyone to go there plus they got friendly service

Worst fish and chips I have ever tasted tasted warmed up from the day before. My pie you could of thrown it at the wall and it would still be in one piece.

This year 2024 was the first time I have been here as we normally go to happy fish across the road from the Tropicana. If I would have known about their banging deal platters and that they were pretty cheap for the amount you get I would have definitely gone here over the last 30 years

£7 for the smallest tray of kebab meat, not gonna be going back here

We have eaten every day from the plaice on the park absolutely beautiful and really tasty with a huge about of food to choose from

My main issue here would be the way the boss(probably called Shane) think I heard someone call him that, the way he spoke to his staff was a disgrace. Arrogant, nasty man, won't be using this place again.

Regularly order a delivery from here to skegness. Usually takes 40-60mins. Food always fresh and delicious! Always order sharing platter 1 and sometimes a desert too! Only ever had a problem once with missing items requested a refund and the manager turned up with our items a free drink and got the refund! They go above and beyond! Always so polite! Rolo cheesecake is amazing! And the donner meat is so soft and tender! The chips are always hot and well cooked, the sausages were great and not over cooked. Would highly recommend.

The food was OK. First time there, I ordered a fish on its own. Nice fish, but a bit greasy. The second time, I just had a steak and kidney pie. Only just warm. Staff don't seem to have much time for you. Different from other chippies I've been too locally, not the best, in my opinion. Will try again, though. Been back today, 13.May.24. Cod bites with no cod. Chips ok, curry sauce was good. Didn't seem to he top much care in what they cook. Not going back.

Probably the worst food I’ve ever had from a chip shop. There were three orders in front of me, so I was expecting a little wait. After watching the least enthusiastic staff I’ve probably ever seen stood there ‘looking busy’ while I was waiting for over 40 minutes, I asked how long the wait was likely to be. I got a ‘no idea’ response: no apology, no explanation. It seemed that there was no system in place to deal with a small flurry of orders, and they all panicked when they had a few. When the food was finally ready they just shoved a bag in my hand. They had not asked if I wanted any condiments so we were left with tasteless food. We even ordered a burger, which was packed without any sauce or salad as you would normally be asked if you would like them - the Mrs was not impressed. All this I could’ve excused but once I got home and finally unwrapped the food (less than five mins away) I was left entirely disappointed. The food was cold, greasy and dry (I didn’t even know that was possible). Even my three year old who eats absolutely anything refused to eat his dinner for the first time ever. Food went in the bin. Wasted £20+. Now sat eating Jaffa cakes.

Atmosphere was flat for a fish and chip shop (what a plaice). I’ve never seen such a school of unhappy people working in a chippy before so if that was a score, they’d excel. The service none the less was very effishent. Great food. Whale of a cod and fin-ished it all.

Ordered for delivery, the food got here in good time, but the paninis ordered had only been in the same room as the grill. The cheese hadn’t even melted, the salad was dry and old, lettuce was wilted and looked as close to decomposition as a week old corpse, the cucumber had shrivelled up like an old man’s todger, the fish still had half the oil that it was cooked in on it, not to mention how bland it was, the best part? I’m fairly certain the paninis had been on the same grill as some fish without even wiping the surfaces between cooking. Frankly, the fact nobody has died over an allergy or food poisoning is surprising to me. I hope others see sense, save their money and take their custom to a place that cares and will have respect for the food they put out. Genuinely appalled.

I don’t know what’s happened here the last time I reviewed this place I gave it 5 stars in 2022. Visited in the Easter holidays and my god it was rough. I had a steak and kidney pie and chips pie was ok could have been warmer but there’s not a lot can go wrong with a pie. Chips were just frozen chips deep fried can’t even be bothered to peel potatoes and chip them. Had a scallop as well what can I say about that only it was like a crisp in batter there was no potato it was awful Avoid like the plaque

been here twice now in 3 days only stopping right around the corner when you spend £14 both times you would at least expect it to be hot but it wasn't the pie i had looked like it was welded to the container sausage and chips was cold and it would be nice to of been asked if id like salt and vinegar on them wife had a kebab wrap very cold and grisly also it would be nice to see a smile

Ordered collection cod and chips twice and 1 curry sauce. Service was quick and food was fantastic. Been a few times and food has always been outstanding. Keep up the good work.

Would not be going back the chips was bitty under cooked

Look warm food, Yorkshire fishcake mainly all potato, batter undercooked (slimey inside) 7 cod bites instead of 10 (ordered 2 sets of 5) we thought we would try as little nans is great food, but disappointed. Sorry won't be using yourselves again.

I been to many chippys but for chapel st Leonards this is the best ,nice cooked chips , and wow prices are fair,the most important thing I think is the curry sauce, proper stuff not like others do which looks more like gray ,so yes I do keep going their,

Had a voucher for 10%off stock staff a while to work out how to take it off bill found myself repeating my self to staff didn't ask if we wanted salt and vinegar glad he didn't it might of confused him more if I said yes , chip stone cold by the time I got back to caravan 5 minutes away batter on fish very soggy greasy and stuck to paper and grey in colour not white, peas ok just not enough in the larger pot what was ask for only a small pot in normal fish and chip shops , Yorkshire fish cake was ok will not return, found it very hard to find a good fish and chip shop on East Coast, Amanda

Phoned up to check they had what we wanted for an order, they confirmed. Got there and was told it wasn’t in stock. We said okay and as we are leaving the lady behind the counter swears at my partner “Oh bye then you Pri*k” Disgusting behaviour over absolutely nothing and your staff should be ASHAMED. Won’t be back.

Yeah, really enjoyed the cod and chips for Dinner. The fish was really well done and the chips were lovely. Can’t knock the food at all AND the shop was significantly cleaner than their competitors down the road opposite Club Tropicana. Would happily come back here if we ever get back to this part of Norfolk.

Used to be the best in chapel but really gone down hill, old fat makes chips taste awful which is a shame

Brought fish and chips and the chips were only part cooked. Tried calling them to let them know and the number doesn’t work. Very greasy and very unenjoyable. Everything is limp and wet and meh. Will never go there again.

We were a family of 4and we ordered the a platter and it was plentiful excellent food could not eat it all.

I always have a large fish on its own ... and especially appreciate it after a beer. What a dissapoinment.. never again ☹

Horrendous food. I'm not sure where the good reviews come from. Soggy, old chips, cooked on 5w30. Not cooked throughly either. Terrible. Staff also looks like they're not too happy to be there. Avoid at all cost, don't waste your money there

Went to this chip shop for chicken meat cost 7 pound got three fork fulls of chicken this is disgusting I would advise anyone who wants a chippy to go somewhere else I would give no stars but it will not let you the pictures are definitely of people who work there

A great place to get fish & chips and then sit down at one of the benches to watch the entertainment and enjoy a few drinks in the sunshine at Little Nans Cafe which is also on the same site. We had a fantastic afternoon and will be back to try the cafe next time as they are both run by the same owner. High quality food and reasonable prices.

This has been my go to chippy for 2 years. Great fish & chips cooked to order. Today something has gone wrong big time. Overcharged by £12 until pointed out. Chips and fish were really poor. Batter soggy and fish was dry. Nothing cooked to order like previously. To cap it the order was wrong when I got it back home. Come on plaice on the park you really need to sort yourself out to get my best chippy in village title back!

Food good but needs to work on customer service would have been quite happy for me to walk away without the kids drinks included in the meal until I had to remind . shows beans on menu with kids meals but weren't included then some guy in a hoodie and baseball cap walked in and started serving no hands washed can't see me and my family using them again

The food is lovely but it's very rare when ordering delivery that you get the right order because the background noise is unbearable when you're on the phone and the staff don't listen. Gave it another chance tonight my mistake it took ages for them to answer the phone then when a man answered he held me on the phone for 5 minutes chatting to people in the shop or other staff.....absolutely shocking service and I won't be using them again!!!!!!!!

Wife and I had take away for supper. The wife had the Yorkshire Fish Cake, excellent, and I opted for a large Cod which was far from large, with the fish quality questionable. We shared a large portion of chips, and these were OK. Staff not the most friendly. Would I eat here again. Don't think so.

Deliberately went to this chippy based on the positive reviews and that they don’t use beef fat to fry their chips. Unfortunately I was really disappointed in my meal of mini fish chips and mushy peas. The chips were really greasy and tasted as though they had been cooked ages ago and kept warm the fish was greasy and hardly any inside the batter and the peas tasted full of sugar Wish I had opened the box and tried before getting back to our caravan as I would have taken them back in. Ate a handful of chips and the fish left the greasy batter left the peas. Based on my meal tonight I would definitely not recommend. Now to find something else to eat

We used this chippy as the others were all shut ( Wednesday) and really wish we hadn’t have bothered The good part was the chips The fish was tiny and cheap frozen looking definitely not worth the money The mushy peas were bright bright green ??? And really watered down Don’t bother wasting your money

Heard good reports about Plaice on the park. Visited last week on the way home from holiday. Spotlessly clean, food freshly cooked to order even the chips 👍 no re- cooked food or fish left for ages on the heated grills. Definitely recommended cracking food and nice owners

Just had chips and curry sauce x 2 for me and the wife on travelling home. I have got to say these are the best chips and curry sauce I’ve ever tasted. Freshly cooked to order no reason cooked stuff absolutely fantastic thanks guys 👏👍

I’ve been for a fair few meals at Little Nans & had many deliveries from Plaice on the Park The food is exceptional everything is freshly cooked using the finest fresh fish the chips are awesome. A large variety of foods on the menu - homemade steak pie is so tasty The sweets are to die for all homemade The customer service from Shane Harris is second to none nothing is too much trouble & his staff are a credit to him I highly recommend a visit to Plaice on the Park & Little Nans you won’t be disappointed

Just been for breakfast at the little corner cafe now owned and run by "plaice on the park". To say its the best breakfast I've had while being in Chapel is an understatement!! It was cooked to perfection...no grease or fat and beautiful presented. To say its only been open about 10 days they have done a tremendous job and I look forward to eating there when its all been refurbished. I can't speak highly enough of the staff either so friendly and welcoming. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Brilliant chippy, portions massive and good quality. I had fish and chips and my partner kebab and chips, first time ever he couldn't eat all his kebab meat, gutted. Will defo be going again on next our next visit to Chapel.

We visit Chapel regurlarly and have tried All the Fish & Chip shops with Hit & Mis results. However this year we found this one which is by far the Best for the quality and price. We have Never been disappointed. We go every saturday morning, The staff are very friendly also. We would highly recommend you give Plaice on the Park a try if you havn,t done already, Guarantee you wont be disappointed!

Previously this was my favourite chippy in the area. Staff are rude and can't be bothered and obviously know nothing about customer service.

Visited this chippy most nights during our 4 day stop at Chapel and the food was great. Cooked to order which obviously means a little wait but well worth it would recommend this place and look forward to visiting again soon.
