Lovely pub food and wonderful friendly staff. As it’s still lockdown we sat outside to have our meal, which was delicious. Unfortunately it started to rain heavily and we had quite a walk back to where we were staying. Not a problem, as the extremely lovely staff arranged a lift for us. Russ drove us back to our cabin.Highly recommend this lovely pub and staff.Thank you for taking such good care of us.Mick and Angie

We called in for a drink early Saturday evening, and already the place was busy. There locals were friendly, the beer great and it seemed like everything a village local should be.

Stopped off at this traditional country pub with our dog. Dogs are aloud in the bar. The landlord didn’t realise we wanted food and said they were fully booked but she would check. They managed to fit us in and we ate in the bar. Not a large pub so if you are going I would book in advance. Carvery was a choice of two meats really good value for money. The pub had a choice of real ale and a good range of local ciders.

Great little pub, apparently run (very effectively) by just two people. We were there on a Sunday, which means carvery, but this was a cut above the average. As well as beef and pork, there was haggis! Bill for four carveries and four puddings was £45. Would love to go later in the week and try their pies. And they make their own cider.Check opening hours, as they are not open early in the week.

Great food and super ciders.Having just moved into the area we were excited to find this great little pub. The home cooked food is light years away from the normal pub offerings and the cook has never heard of portion control! Eaten there twice and will eat there many times more,We first visited as a party of 4 with 4 dogs, The host made us welcome as did the locals at the bar. To avoid any issues with dogs in the dining area there was no problem in serving us in the bar area,A find indeed!

We have visited this pub several times over the last 4 years while on holiday in Lincolnshire and every time we have been warmly greeted by the landlords. We always feel welcome and this seems to apply to all customers, new and old.We go there mainly for the home made pies. The variety changes regularly and they are served with chips or mashed potato and veg and importantly a jug of good gravy.Other items are available on the menu but we cannot see past the pies.Big decisions, which pie but hey ho such is life.Worth a visit but ring first,it is only a small pub and you may need to book.

We stayed for 1 night in both rooms & had dinner with friends at the Red Lion. From the moment we arrived the owners were friendly & welcoming. The interior of the pub & both rooms is beautiful. Tastefully decorated, sympathetic to the style of the building. Both bedrooms were a good size with a lovely old fashioned bedstead. They were comfy & the quiet & darkness of the village meant we all had a restful night. Breakfast is a serve yourself in your room, which we loved, it was a most relaxing way to eat. There were cereals, toast, croissants, fruit & yoghurt. We had our evening meal in the pub & everything was home made & lovely. There was a good selection & everything cooked well & tasty. All 5 of us enjoyed our meal & I would definitely visit again. My friends live a few miles away & they will bring future visitors to eat & to stay here.

My goodness me, what a complete delight this place is. We were staying in the area for the weekend and was hoping to find a comfortable, fabulous country pub. Well thats what we found and so much more. We walked in and were warmly greeted by the owners Nick and Marion. It was like walking in to a friends sitting room, of course friends with exceptional interior design taste! The floors are flanked with gorgeous flagstones and our small dog Dougal was welcomed with open arms into the bar. Once we moved into the restaurant the open fire drew us in, past the old piano in the corner. We ordered from the menu of all homemade food and guzzled the great tasting wine, all set at a most reasonable price. The only down point for us was that we had to leave! If only we had realised they had accommodation, then it would have been there that we would have stayed! Thanks to you both for a great night and we can't wait to return!

Really friendly, charming country pub, opposite church in small village. "Olde Worlde", traditional setting with pretty garden. Thoroughly enjoyed Sunday carvery - extremely generous portions of delicious food - 2 meats (you can have both), roasties, perfect mash, Yorkshire puds and 5 veg! So full that we couldn't manage dessert! The pub also has 2 letting rooms at very reasonable prices, so you can sleep it off! Definitely worth a visit.

Well what a fantastic old pub ! Loved the interior , can't be sure but most of it looked original with very sympathetic paint and wallpaper and fittings .We went with family and sat in the parlour for a carvery , which was very nice , roast pork and crackling , beef and gammon , and you could have a slice of each , with all the traditional trimmings . Puddings were lovely , I had homemade bread and butter pudding with custard , hubby had home made ice cream ,that was coffee flavoured with sultanas that had been soaked in brandy , looked lovely . Although he didn't share any lol !They make all their own pies , which there looked to be quite a few varieties on the board . My husband has his eye on the pork and black pudding pie !!! They only take bookings for 24 people on Sunday's so advisable to book ! Liked it that much that we are going back on Friday to try these famous pies . But just call in for a drink and check out the very welcoming snug and the owners friendly welcome , they make their own ciders too , not that I tried it .Four carverys plus three desserts for under £40.00 fantastic value !

Friendly landlord, excellent food - especially if you like homemade pies - and a good selection of ciders. We were welcomed by the pub dog in the garden and chose to eat outside because the weather was good. Landlord was chatty and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Pub looked characterful and cosy inside but you have to make the most of the sun when it's out so we enjoyed the garden instead. Would definitely go back when in the area.

Lovely country pub with wonderful decor and very nice olde world feel, sad to say the service was so very slow we waited over an hour for our meal at not a busy time! The food which seems all home made is what you call probably ok for a pub. I had pie it came with processed peas and big chunky wedges at a cost of £8 odd so that sounds not so bad, Staff are very slow and seemed to get in a tiz when 2 people was needing serving at the bar. I'd probably go back for a glass of wine but not any food. By the way the person serving was the owner sorry for the harsh comments but hope you can make things better from this review.
