Called to eat this year to find it is the middle of being demolished, inflatable bar at the rear at present, could not get answer to if it will be rebuilt, it was a spit and sawdust place but the roasts and other food was good, just hope they do put in a new pub with a very similar menu etc, time will tell.

First let me tell you, this was a second visit due to good food last time, it was a spit and sawdust pub but at this visit we learnt that this venue closes 29th September until beginning of March for a refurbishment, this may mean that prices may go up to cover this, just hope they put in a wheelchair access, as the roasts daily all week are fantastic value and all fresh local produce and my climbing steps skill is getting limited, drink prices are good too, so new visitors to this venue may find that is is new and not as we knew it, just hope the atmosphere doesn't change as it is great, good luck with the refurb and remember your less abled visitors when you do it, hope to come back next year x

Visit here quite a lot for the carvery. It's good home cooked food. Choice of 4 veg. New potatoes, roast potatoes, choice of 2 meats and Yorkshire pudding. Good portion of meat and food area is clean and tidy. The guy that does the serving is really friendly and helpful. The pub itself is tired and in need of a refurb but it's a good old boozer as well . Parking is ok at the back but a bit difficult to get to the front of the pub to get in as you have to go up quite steep steps. This is difficult if my 89 year old mother in law is with us. Front could do with a tidy up from the cigarette buts.No problem with the food at all we will continue to go.

I took the family for lunch on the 13th of July and was pleasantly suprised by how nice the food was especially the size of the meat portion, it was huge. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant. They played Motown background music which was a bonus for me. I agree the building is in need of an update, but hay ho, if the foods good you don't mind too much. It cost £3.85 for adults and £3.00 for children for the carvery. Iv'e never paid such a little for such a lot. Well done The Royal Oak, 10/10. Iv'e told my friend's to check you out, i'll call again next time i visit skegness without doubt.

Saw the offers as we drove past and they looked really good at great prices so we turned around and parked up behind the pub. Us being a family of 5 with 2 young children 3 &1 yr old. We turned the corner to enter the pub, 4-5 people stood in the door way smoking and were pretty resentful In being asked to excuse me so we could get through. We Walked inside and it was like I had stepped through a time warp back into the 1970's, I soon got distracted as my shoes were sticking to the carpet. Then it was like everyone in the pub turned around to stare at us, every single one of them a local giving the look of why are you here? Old men and women that have probably lived here all their lives. There was no food on any table what so ever this being 6:30pm when they have all 2 for £10 offers to name one up until 9pm. We immediately turned around and left. These other reviews on here are obviously from other locals. Horrible place, poor atmosphere, dirty outdated pub. Avoid unless you're a local

Have visited on several occasions as a family and with mother in law for Carvery and entertainment . In 2014 the food was great then the main chef left. After that it seemed to go downhill a bit . Have have it another try and was not disappointed . Two different meats pork and beef and plenty of fresh veg and roast potatoes. Tasty and hot. MIL is a poor and picky eater but she ate the lot.3 adult carveries and 3 drinks was £14. Can't fault it. The price does go up on a Sunday.Food is great but the furniture and surroundings especially in the bar dining area are a bit tired .A bit difficult for disabled to get into because of stairs but plenty of parking to the rear of the pub.All in all great vfm and a good dinner, will go again .

We drove out for Sunday lunch whilst staying at Butlins, and found this pub. The food was great, choice of four meats lamb, beef, turkey and pork, help yourself to veg and potatoes all cooked to perfection, and all for £5.50, you can't get a Sunday roast anywhere near to that price back home.

An excellent and great value meal from a pub near Butlins. Arrived at 2.45, saw carvery advertised until 3pm so I enquired whether still available. No carvery as such but roast dinners. We both ordered beef which was served piping hot within about 5 minutes.Meal consisted of a generous portion of tender lean roast beef, proper gravy, a Yorkshire pudding, roast and boiled potatoes and a separate dish of fresh vegetables (carrots, peas, cauliflower and cabbage).Worth every penny of the £3.85 price. Drinks very reasonable too. Not posh but great pub food far nicer than you get in the big name carvery chains,

All in all not a bad place although the language from some of the locals could be toned down a little especially as it is very family orientated. They do a fabulous daily carvery at a price that can't be beaten ( about £3.69 as i recall ) with the meat and veg cooked to perfection. Good evening entertainment too.

We ate here last week, after driving past and seeing the signs for a cheap carvery. It doesn't look the best from the outside but the smell of the food before going inside made my tummy grumble. We were a bit dissapointed as my partner didn't fancy the carvery like me and the kids he wanted a mixed grill off the main menu and when we went to pay for the carvery and ask for a menu for my partner they said they didn't start serving the menu food untill 3:30pm and the carvery stopped at 3:00pm. He sid he didn't mind waiting so me and the children carried on with our food. The carvery was fantastic. Real gravy, great tasting roasties, lovely big yorkshire, soft vegetables and melt in your mouth roast beef. What more could you ask for for such a low price.Whilst my partner waited he had a pint of guiness what he said was one of the best pints he's had.

Ate here yesterday 22nd August. The whole place is run down looks like it had a nice refurbishment a couple of years ago but now it is grubby. My chair was broken, tables sticky, carpet yuk! Sink missing in the ladies. The smell i don't know what it was but the whole place stunk. Cutlery came in soggy paper napkins. My steak pie was nice though as was my hubbys tikka masala both had plenty of meat in 2 meals for a tenner although they did have a few offerings at 2 for £5.95. If you can close your eyes and peg your nose its worth a visit.

Went here today for Sunday carvery whilst on a weekend break in ingoldmels. Price very good paid under Six pound each. This place usuales does a full menu, but only a carvery on sundays, so not so good if people in your party would like something else other than a cooked dinner. Also not very happy that I couldnt get a hot drin, wanted a cuppa but was told no hot drinks. Carvery was good, good choice of veg, 3 meats on offer, cauliflower cheese, roast and new potatoes. I chose the beef and it was delicious. The only let down was the frozen yorkshire pudding, I prefer homemade rather then ready made. Would visit again though, as a good meal generally for the price.

Had a couple of roasts today which came with free desserts. Meal was lovely, fresh, hot, just what you expect. We was really happy with that.....but....half an hour after leaving we realised we had left a bag behind. Money, cards, car keys, medication, all stuff hard to replace when on holiday. We returned to the Windsor and the lady who was serving, cleaning etc said she saw the bag as soon as we left, so put it safe behind the counter. Panic over. We can't thank you enough xxx

Can't begin to say how bad this pub was, miserable landlady and landlord and the worst food I have ever not eaten. I say not eaten as we didn't get through even a quarter of the plate of awful food we were offered. My husband said the beer was okay but please don't bother with the food it REALLY ISNT WORTH IT.

We went specifically to this venue for breakfast. We ordered different breakfasts and made some changes to one of them with the helpful counter staff. The tea in the tea pot was cold and we took it back for a replacement hot tea pot. The breakfast was brought to us by a member of staff who did not smile or speak. Having ordered extra well done bacon we were surprised to note that it certainly hadn't been even well done. The plates were cold and so was half of the breakfast, the rest of it cooling rapidly. The toast and prepacked butter were placed on the top of the breakfast and we had to use our fingers to try and get them off the top, even though there was nowhere to put them (have they never heard of side plates)? All in all, very poor. Customer care is clearly not a priority.

Visited here yesterday as we have done many times previously and i was on my VERY SMALL electric scooter (ES). It was quite busy but not full as it is fairly small inside. Myself and my scooter took up the same amount of sitting on the chair as i was situated so i didn't need to use their chair and if on a large bike this would not have been possible. However a young girl asked if i could leave my ES outside and walk in which i could not as not able to do so. I replied we have been in there previously and had never been an issue but she said the couldn't allow it when they were busy. I would not have gone in if i was going to cause an issue or restrict any of the pathways and so i felt i had to leave, which we did. However there was 3 tables occupied by approx 12 men who were blocking pathways and not eating anything and were loudly talking to each other across the tables who were who were quite clearly obstructive but seemingly that was ok !!! I am disgusted in this day and age that such discrimination persists and i will not use them again. Perhaps they need to add a sign to the windows stating people with mobility aids would not be allowed in busy periods. Totally Disgusted. LInda Halls
