The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving British food

Nice beer garden. I didn't rate the inside much. It's a classic locals were the regulars prop up the bar so it's annoying trying to get served. There are others places I'd rather spend my time though if you're looking for "an everybody knows your name" place then this might suit you.

After booking a table elsewhere for easter Sunday, we were very let down so needed to find somewhere to eat, lovely little pub, food was lovely and staff very friendly, thank you, easter day didn't turn out a disaster after all

We go regularly to the Bird in Hand at Beck Row. We go with different friends. We all love it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is always good. It’s got a nice warmth about it. There plenty of car parking space. It’s got a lovely atmosphere. There is plenty of seating and is always nice and clean. We all love it.

Fantastic cakes! The choc-nut slice is particularly good. Fantastic coffee too A really good place to stop off, very friendly host too

Theere were plenty of plants to choose from my wife loved it the fish were very interesting aswell as the home decors. bought a couple of things which the staff happily wrapped up for us. The coffee was a bit expensive but thats ok. Thank you

Food as usual was excellent but the drink that I wanted which was a soda and lime was £2 50 which seeing as you get the soda free means I was paying £2 50 for a shot of lime. On being told it was for a pint I asked if I could have a small one and was told the pump only measured large ones. Funnily enough my sister had half a pint of John Smiths which was only £1 95. I don't blame the staff that were on although he could have been a little more tactful, I blame Green King for being greedy. No wonder that a lot of people are staying at home and drinking their own booze Very disappointed this week after leaving a glowing report last week. I feel that I don't want to come again.

Lugar encantador. Fuimos un lunes a almorzar. Tristemente, no nos impresionó la ensalada que parecía consistir en zanahoria cocida en frío, patata, coliflor, etc. Hubiera preferido una ensalada tradicional, toms, pepino, lechuga con el salmón ahumado y aguacate. Pensamos que quizás sobras del almuerzo del domingo del día anterior. Muy decepcionante y no sabía particularmente bien.

Staying in this beautiful part of the world, with this pub about 5 min walk from our accommodation. Great food! Lovely service. I had the hake which has to have been one of the best meals I've had in a pub setting. It was really good! Full of flavour Yet another reason to come back here

Excellent service from Hannah, Izzy, Atul and Owen. They were all very pleasant, welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable too. We were made to feel special. The food was truly delicious and well presented. Would go again, without a doubt.

Tuvimos una comida muy agradable en el Strines Inn durante un fin de semana en el Peak District. Buena selección de bebidas y la comida era muy agradable. Tardó un poco en salir, pero eran porciones frescas y encantadoras y generosas. El encantador Jacob en el bar tenía un servicio al cliente encantador. ¡Acepta perros también! Buenas opciones para vegetarianos y veganos que a veces es difícil de encontrar en un pub de campo. Lo recomendaría!

Amo a Bolam y al Paisano, lo cual no decepcionó; por MÍ. Sin embargo: 'La que debe ser obedecida' dijo; ¿la llana/pintada? Las mesas de madera eran "pegajosas". Nuestro almuerzo del domingo fue sabroso y disfrutado por los cuatro. Sin embargo: 'Uno' no estaba satisfecho y no visitará más. La gente tiene que aceptar la apariencia rústica que es única, agradable. El personal era divertido y eficiente, lo que nos permite cambiar nuestra tabla: ¡Dos veces! Mi consejo es que lo veas por ti mismo: Porque unos 50 comensales no pueden equivocarse. Quizás Table Cloths resuelva la duda: 'A Ha'prth of Tar' no costará una canción! 😁

I'm on record as having said on many occasions that if they awarded PhDs for scone-tasting, I should have a dozen. I've eaten scones in venues from the Orkney Islands to Australia and written about them in more publications than I could possibly remember. So, you can take my word for it that the freshly-baked, home-made scones (with butter and strawberry jam) at No.6 are quite possibly the best I've tasted in recent years. Cafe No 6 is a quaint place with a very atmospheric first-floor eating area, a delightful owner and staff who look like they are actually enjoying the job they do. My wife and I were just as impressed with the special 'doggy menu' on offer. We shall be back!

Stayed a few hours on a Dreich day before the foot passenger ferry. Clean, friendly and dog friendly. Popular with locals and tourists alike. Prices were lower than expected!
