A lovely dog friendly pub with delicious home cooked food. The owners are so welcoming and friendly. Our two Border Terriers, George & Janice make themselves at home & The Plough has definitely become our new local for a drink & excellent food when we’re over at our boat which is moored at the marina. We will definitely be returning again & again & again.

Just had a lovely Sunday lunch at The Plough. A nice menu and with good drinks selection. We shared a Cauliflower Wings to start, which was hot and very tasty with a Chipotle dip. For mains we both chose the Crispy slow roast Belly pork with Apple purée and black pudding on top a of a buttery mash, served with lots of vegetables and lashings of gravy. This was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and piping hot to the last forkful. The staff were all very friendly, the prices are reasonable and we will definitely be back!

Called in for Sunday Lunch. Absolutely faultless! Had homemade soup and belly pork bites to start , both excellent and served with a smile. My wife had roast sirloin I had lamb shank, both came with fresh veg and all the trimmings. Lashings of gravy and a real plate full. Followed up by crumble and custard. Amazing value at around £14 for mains. Service throughout was friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Worth the detour to the quaint village of Braunston as only a few minutes from the A5, M1, A45 and M45. We went there on our way back from Scotland as we didn't fancy the dreaded motorway services. Turned out to be a great choice and WELL WORTH the extra few miles off the motorway. Kurt and Rhianna are very welcoming, the beer is excellent and the food, well,we've not had a better veg curry in a very long time. Worth noting, made to order, not pre-made and warmed up, so very fresh and arrived in no time. Places like this that offer a miles better experience than the usual chain suspects need to visited. It's a village pub - use it or lose it as they say. We will be back :D

A friendly and smiling welcome wich made you think you're special to them. Good beers - a decent choice including Butty Bach as a really good bitter. The menu is traditional pub rather than gatronomic but that's what we were hoping for. The pie is a good size and meat-filled. Vegetables are great and chips are proper chips. We only had the one course but the starters and desserts sounded great. Chatting to the community managers later proved that they have full time businesses of their own but run them completely separately from the living quarters upstairs. They are on hand 24/7 for emergencies etc. It's a venture for them and for the village. Interestingly they are intent on improving on the reputation of previous owners / managers. This is a village pub that serves good food in good time at reasonable rates. It's not, and doesn't try to be, a restaurant with more exotic offerings. It's historic, a proper pub, and an important part of the village and the UK canal scene (if some way away from the canal!)

Had lunch there. The specials advertised weren't available even though we got there at 12:00. All three of us thought the pub food was distinctly average at best and not that well cooked. My lasagne topping (basically a very thick cheese sauce) didn't look fresh and the gammon wasn't fried enough so the fat was quite uncooked. Chips were poor. The most disappointing lunch/meal of the canal trip.

The food here is best described as standard pub food done well, and was excellent value. The portions were in my view very appropriately sized (ie not too large!). The stand out points for me were three good real ales, well kept; very good value for money (10 drinks and 8 two course meals, 3 of which were kids) came in at £100; but the stand out point was the incredible welcome and friendly style of Bradley who served us. It was the wonderful welcome which got the 5th star!
