The best restaurants in Torfaen South Wales

Dirty tables,dirty floor,dirty toilet.Such a shame as it's newly opened with attractive decor and furnishings.With so many cafes in Cwmbran they need to up their game.

I visited Greggs in Pontypool this morning of the 8 people queuing 3 people were not wearing masks, at no point did Greggs employees question this, they were just served. The wearing of masks is still mandatory in Wales in public places !!!!

Went to Warren's bakery and had a cream tea. When it came,there was no tea/drink. I went back to the til to ask and apparently there is no drink included! I said surely then a cream tea with no tea is just a scone? Franchise need a bit of schooling on what a cream tea is! On looking in the window afterwards there was a sign that said drinks were extra, but again don't advertise it as a cream tea then! Clue is in the name really 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

No sauce with the selects and was cold. Driver was rude.

Previous owner was lovely. But portion size of chips is better now, and they a are a bit nicer as probably using different potatoes or oil. More local to me, but Pontnewydd still the best chippy in Cwmbran. Not that I have chips often, but just wanted to give a good review. The boating lake is only about a 10 minute stroll away.

I purchased two pizzas as a treat for my nieces. I wish I had ordered from a different place. The service was great, wonderful driver and can’t fault that. The pizzas? Bland, flavourless and the base is awful. I ordered a half and half and another which was a good deal (financially) however I wish I had paid extra for another pizza place. There was no sauce. The toppings were sparse. When my sister and brother arrived they found out and said “yeah. You shouldn’t have ordered from there”. If you like Pizza Hut then this review won’t sway you. Pizzas are personal and if you have a favourite you tend to stick to it. Needless to say the voucher for a buy one get one free won’t be used. Picture is the ham and mushroom. Your feedback is important, and we’ll be addressing this internally to ensure better service in the future.” [Response from owner.] This response was added NINE months AFTER I purchased and placed review. Not used this establishment since purchase and no intention of doing so. If feedback is important, nine months to respond, with an Americanised spelling of apologise, is not good service. Good luck.

To be honest the chips are like bricks and stale…and the mushroom chowmein is not like it use to be…and the curry sauce is very poor😟

A scrawny ginger Papa John's delivery driver with a pubey beard cut us off on the road today, and then proceeded to shout abuse at us when we would not be intimidated to move out of his way in the car park behind Papa John's Cwmbran. He was driving a dark estate car. If someone is paid to drive delivering pizzas, they should know the rules of the road.

Never order from kebab king in Cwmbran. Food took nearly 2 hours to arrive and when it did it was stale and cold then was spoken too rudely on the phone. The man on the phone spoke to us like utter crap and hung the phone up. Terrible customer service and awful food!

Food wasn’t great at all missing items which means we all ate our food cold as it was a family meal well suppose to be £50 odd quid but definitely not worth the money at all. Was told amazing Chinese but definitely doesn’t seem it at all

We arrived for a birthday celebration we was on 2 separate tables. Plenty of food but not fresh and no chow main out. Waited over 15 minutes for drinks then asked what did we order. The kids did enjoy the desert area.

This resturant no longer exists - and hasnt since 2019. The property was taken over by Brown Bears which is excellent

It was amazing staff friendly tables clean even had a toilet as well it was great food for what you pay for

Been a customer for years but when I take my dog there and get a pupuchino there must be a cream shortage most of the staff give a full cup but there is allways one that gives less than half . It's the owner responsibility what they give there pet .. added photo showing what I had when was served today 21st Sept 2024

Avoid at all costs.. it’s quicker to go to another store!!! If you are planning to collect at at least another hour to the time you’re given to collect. The staff are rude and disinterested, absolutely no customer service whatsoever!!!
